It was better than the first one, but just. There was a little less violence from Colin towards Max, but the parents would allow Colin to do the mean stuff, but Max gets grounded for less. It is beyond unreal. There is one part where Max gets in trouble for calling Colin a name and Colin's next sentence is a worse insult to Max and the parents not only allow it, but laugh. I just think it is definitely the wrong image to show kids. Also, the same thing happens to Max as it does to Colin and the parents just shrug off what happens to Colin, but when it happens to Max, they think he has mental issues and takes him to a doctor. ?????? Really???
Had you ever had something bothering ,you but you don't want to tell know one? Well if not I'm going to tell you about a kid name Max keeping a secrete from everybody else. The genre of this book is mysteries and horror. My overall opinion of this book is awesome this book is very scary it tells you a lot that is happening in the book, like in the book it says "My doors started Creaking like if someone was trying to get in my room" this shows that there is something on the door, trying to get in Maxes room and also it says Creaking which show that the door is opening slowly.
The setting takes place in Maxes room because that's where all the paranormal activity is and the tunnel that is in Maxes wall leads to the ghost that are haunting Max except Nick and Tara. "Spoiler Alert"This book is about a kid named Max getting haunted by a evil ghost name Phears. But Phears isn't alone this time he brought a more dangerous spirit and his name is Berserk,Berserk takes control of Max and Max starts acting Crazy, his parents don't know what is happening to him. This story is person vs person because Max is trying to help Tara and Nick find there parents but Phears and Berserk is standing in there way.The main event that happen, in the book is when Max finds out there is a whole in his wall that leads to something terrifying in the text its says "Nick pushed Tara into Max, Max fell in a whole that led to somewhere, Max said what is in there? I didnt even know there was a whole there?"
The author brings tension when Phears says "Max if you don't tell me where Tara and Nick are i'm going to bring someone stronger and dangerous than me " this brings tension because you tell yourself that who is Phears going to bring with him so you get nervous and you want to read more of the book. The Major symbol of this book is to never give up know matter if someone is trying to stop you just do what you want to do, I know this because in the text it say " Tara, Nick don't give up!, we will find your parents just don't give up." The narrator is reliable because he wants to help Tara and Nick find there parents. When Max never had ghost in his house he was a big geek at his school, until after he met Nick and Tara, he became a popular person I know this because in the book its says "I never had friends until Tara and Nicky help me climb that rope in gym class, woo i'm glad Nicky and Tara where there to help or else I would of been a dead person lying on the ground with a broken nose."
In my opinion, I like the way the author put a new character in the book because sometimes you get bored of the same person being in the book I know a new character was added to the book because Phears says that he was going to bring a friend with him.My favorite part was when Berserk was humiliating Max is front of his class,in the text it says "Everyone was laughing because I started saying some words that I was not even saying it was like someone was controlling me I kept saying jubba hubba and the teacher told me to stop being goofy but I couldn't stop." Spoiler Alert" A thing i learned in this book was that Nick and Tara haven't found there parents, but they are not giving up yet. I thought the ending of the book was boring because Nick and Tara haven't found there parents and I want to see what happens when they find there parents.
I would rate this book a 3 out of 5 because the ending could have been better, I say this because I wanted Tara and Nick to find there parent to see what Nick and Tara would do. If I had to recommend this book to a specif person this book would have to be for a person who loves scary and mysteries books. My overall opinion of this book was great I would recommend you returning the book that you are reading a chechout this book from the library.
I didn't realize this series was composed of connected stories, so I came into the story not knowing the characters from the previous book. It was different from other Stine books, as the perspective changed a few times from the main character to those of two of the ghosts in the story. I have to say this is probably my least favorite Goosebumps-ish book. Main character Max has an even more obnoxious brother than the usual awful sibling, and everyone is just so utterly down on him, it made for very depressing reading. It's a shame that Stine seemed to think all his readers were nerds who had nothing going for them in their lives and would want to connect with similar characters, because that constant trope has gotten really unpleasant to read.
R.L. Stine has created a fun and exciting series in Mostly Ghostly. Have You Met My Ghoulfriend? is another entertaining story involving Max and the two ghosts, Nicky and Tara. I quite enjoyed Max getting possessed by the ghoul and all of the funny things he did when he was out of control.
Any reader who has and older brother like Colin will easily relate to the way he treats Max. If only Max was big enough to get back at Colin. As for Nicky and Tara, the mystery as to what they really are and why Phears wants their parent will keep the readers going late into the night. What happened to them? Are they really ghosts, or something else? Hmmm . . . if only we knew.
Have You Met My Ghoulfriend? is and excellent story and kids will love it. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to see what adventures await Max in the next book, One Night in Doom House.
I started to read a book last week called, 'Mostly Ghostly: Have you met my Ghoulfriend'. This book is about a bad guy named Phears and a little boy named Max. Max will not give Phears these two ghost children. Phears tries to put his ghoul inside of Max, but it ends up in Max's brother Colin and then finally into Max. What the ghoul does is make people act like babies. I will let you find out what happens next. Hope you get this book, because it will blow you off your feet!
I know I'm too old for these books, but since I surprisingly enjoyed the new Goosebumps Most Wanted books, I thought I'd give more of his children's series a chance.
I didn't realize this was an actual series that followed the same characters until I started reading. I missed book 1, but it didn't seem to matter much and I caught up quickly.
All in all, this was a cute little story and I liked Max, Nicky, and Tara's adventures.
I really liked this book because it caught my eye. Its horror vibes gave me a good feeling about it because i love scary things. I recommend this book to everyone as it is fun to read.
