As someone new to the Keto diet, I found these recipes to be easy to understand and practical. The fact that they are slow cooker and one-pot allows me to make these recipes at home even when I'm on a time crunch.

I've been trying to branch out and find new recipes for the ketogenic diet I'm on and had to grab this cookbook when I saw it. I'm all for slow cooker recipes or one pot meals mainly because they tend to be quick and easy or just set it and forget it. I found some amazing new recipes that make meal prep a breeze and quite a few more adventurous recipes I never would have tried before. This past weekend I did the "Make-Ahead Freezer Meatballs" and it makes a ton so whenever you need a quick meal after work you can pop them in the oven or on the stove top and you have a yummy dinner. If you're looking to expand your recipes for the ketogenic/keto diet this might be the book for you.

Originally published on my blog: Nonstop Reader.

Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals is the newest cookbook from author and keto-lifestyle advocate Martina Slajerova, published by Quarto - Fair Winds Press and available 21st November 2017.

The book is very well illustrated with most pages having full color photographs which support and fill out the text. The content is presented in plain and understandable language blessedly free from mumbo-jumbo. It includes a good layman accessible introduction, explaining the biological basis and uses of a ketogenic diet, the history of the diet and what to expect from a lifestyle change which includes replacing some (or most) dietary carbohydrates with fats as a source of energy.

After the introductory content is a basic chapter including slow cooking theory and how-tos along with how to choose proteins and fats and which to choose for optimal results, spices and how to flavor foods. This chapter is full of useful information for anyone, even people who aren't particularly interested in following a low carb diet. There are complete recipes for homemade spice mixes (the ranch one is -fantastic- and is my new go-to make ahead ranch seasoning), homemade curry paste (tikka masala, rogan josh, and korma), mayonnaise and even a short introduction to macrobiotic fermented vegetable based things like sauerkraut and kimchi. The first chapter along with the slow cooking info and how-to's encompass roughly 14% of the total page content.

The next chapters are full of recipes which are good-tasting and made from easily sourced ingredients. There are chapters for making homemade basics, soups, one pot meals, stews roasts & casseroles, and desserts. I really liked that many of the recipes come with built-in alternatives which make it very easy to switch things up and add even more variation to menu planning without a lot of extra effort.

Despite being insulin resistant myself (borderline type II diabetes), I've resisted trying out a low carb diet mostly because I'm crazy for carbs. I love potatoes rice and bread like nobody's business. I couldn't imagine I would care for any sort of low/no carb version of those three staples. However, I always try out several recipes for any cookbook I'm reviewing, and I thought I'd give the bread and potato alternatives a test drive.

We tried the lemon & herb cauli-rice (p.51) which wound up fluffy and flavorful but I wouldn't say it would honestly substitute for rice in any normal situation. Most people wouldn't take a bite and think they were eating rice. It was tasty however and certainly could make a nice vegetable side dish.

Bread was my second 'acid test'. We tried the sourdough keto-buns (p. 52). My 'complaint' with keto diets previously is that the bread is unsatisfying to me. That is not the case with these rolls. They were crusty and flavorful and satisfied my bread craving. Delicious. Some of the ingredients were a little hard to source (psyllium husk powder for example; had to go to the international health food co-op in town to find it, but they also had ALL the ingredients mentioned in the recipe, so it was one-stop-shopping anyhow).

The third recipe we tried was creamy "potato" soup (p. 63). I'm all over rich potato and bacon soup. It's my number one comfort food, so this was a real taste test, definitely a high bar for me. This soup substitutes rutabaga for starchy potatoes and is a vegetarian version without any meat in it, otherwise it's a traditional root vegetable type hearty soup. I enjoyed the actual soup. It's hearty and filling. It's not potato soup and it doesn't taste like potato soup (or at least it didn't fulfill the 'potato soup' criteria up in my head and in my tastebuds).

Final thoughts? These recipes really are delicious and made from (fairly) easily sourced ingredients. They -are- keto friendly and I would feel fine serving them to non-keto guests. There's a lot to love here. Many of the recipes (maybe even a majority(?)) are vegetarian/vegan friendly or adaptable. Many of them come with author recommended alternatives to make several different styles and presentations by shifting a few ingredients. All the recipes have nutritional information included in a sidebar. The information for each recipe is printed like the quote below, in a very accessible no-nonsense and understandable format:

NUTRITION FACTS PER SERVING (ABOUT 1½ CUPS/360 ML):
Total carbs: 11.3 g / Fiber: 3.4 g / Net carbs: 7.9 g / Protein: 2.3 g / Fat: 9.6 g / Energy: 135 kcal. Macronutrient ratio: Calories from carbs (25%), protein (7%), fat (68%)

I would recommend this cookbook for anyone who is curious about the benefits of a ketogenic diet and wonders if it's easily incorporated or 'do-able' for normal folks. The included recipes are tasty and convenient and made from healthy ingredients which don't rely on highly pre-processed and refined ingredients or mixes.

Step 1: Make a list of all recipes that look worth trying. (We don't use artificial sweeteners, so we skipped over the dessert section, but there are some nice-looking dessert recipes if you're interested.)

Step 2: Cook lots of food. (Fair warning: we don't own a slow cooker, so we use the oven instead. Otherwise any changes were made only after trying the recipe exactly as written.)

Step 3: Copy favorite recipes into family cookbook.

Results So Far:

10 recipes earned a thumbs up from both of us, and have been added to our family cookbook:

Chicken Coconut Laksa and the Thai Curry Paste used to make it. (We used 5 Thai chilies instead of the 10-20 recommended.) Beef Short Ribs with Coleslaw, and the Sweet & Sour BBQ Sauce used for the Short Ribs. Red Pesto, Chicken Mulligatawny Soup, Chicken Chowder, Filipino Chicken Adobo, Broccoli & Mushroom Alfredo Casserole, Ranch Chicken Casserole.

Special Mention: Red Pesto; Sweet & Sour BBQ Sauce; Beef Short Ribs with Coleslaw. All three of these are out-of-this-world amazing, and immediately became part of our regular meal rotation. The pesto doesn't even need the parmesan, which also makes it great for vegans. So good, we eat it with a spoon (with or without parmesan). The BBQ sauce has incredible depth of flavor, and isn't too sweet or too spicy, which is hard to find in my experience. It's quick and easy to make, and also freezes well. The beef short ribs (which use the BBQ sauce) are super easy to make and always come out perfect. And the coleslaw offers just the right brightness, without being so sweet that it should be listed under desserts, as is the case for most coleslaws. The Chicken Chowder surprised me, because I don't normally like chowders at all, but this weird cream cheese concoction is wonderful comfort food. The Ranch Chicken Casserole was so ridiculously good that we immediately made it a second time. That's the highest praise I can think of for a recipe.

5 recipes got split reviews: one of us loved it, but the other wasn't a fan. (A recipe has to be a unanimous hit in order to get added to the family cookbook; so these recipes will not see a repeat in our house.)

This category included Mushroom & Dill Sour Soup, Salmon Chowder, Autumn Oxtail Soup, Sourdough Keto Buns, and Chicken Tikka Masala. Fair warning: the Chicken Tikka Masala doesn't taste like any Chicken Tikka Masala we've ever eaten. If you're after the traditional taste, I suggest you look for a different recipe.

11 recipes didn't impress either of us.

The watery, crumbly, weird-tasting Eggplant Parmesan was honestly disgusting. We actually put in a lot of work to fix it enough to make it edible, but nobody should have to go to such lengths. The Quick Mayonnaise didn't set up, so now we have a jar of foamy, eggy oil sauce. The flavor is alright; my guess is that the oil needed to be added in a slow stream, rather than all at once. The Ratatouille Soup was utterly bland and could only be saved by the addition of LOTS of parmesan cheese, an entire tube of tomato paste, plus salt and olive oil drizzled on top. Also, the rubbery eggplant completely ruins the texture. Amazingly, once fixed, the soup was quite good; especially when served cold on a hot day. So next time we will sauté the eggplant to delicious tenderness, and make the aforementioned additions, and possibly even add the recipe to our cookbook. But as published, the recipe is a failure.

Several recipes were edible-but-forgettable: Hungarian Goulash; Harissa Paste; Crispy Chicken with Olives and Lemon; Thai Pork Lettuce Cups; Chicken Paprikash; Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole; Make-Ahead Freezer Meatballs; Green Bean Casserole. We have better recipes for meatballs, green beans, and veggie casseroles. The chicken dish is gorgeous, and I imagine that a less experienced/picky cook would probably find it quite amazing, but we've made similar dishes before that were better than this one.

3 recipes are works in progress: they were good, but were they amazing? We're reserving judgment for next time.

The Italian Shrimp Pasta seems like it would be better with the Red Pesto served on top, rather than stirred in (which diluted the effect). The Thai Skillet Chicken was ridiculously delicious, but it was "one of those days" so we're not sure if the recipe was really that good, or if any available food would have tasted heavenly. The Poached Salmon was excellent, but we had to make it with cabbage because there wasn't a rutabaga for sale anywhere. For some reason the fish-topped cabbage developed a heavy horseradish flavor, which wasn't helpful. Whenever rutabagas are back, we'll try the recipe as written.

Preliminary Conclusion:

We still have a decent list of recipes to try. Out of the ones we've prepared so far, we now have 10 great new favorites vs. 16 recipes we wouldn't make again. (Plus the recipes that we want to make again before making a decision.) Overall we would give this book 3 stars; however, some of our favorites are SOOOO GOOD that we upped the rating to 4 stars, in eternal gratitude to the author.

Four things I particularly like about this cookbook:

1) It's bound rather than glued, which is great because a good cookbook needs to stand up to lots of handling. Unlike some other softcover cookbooks I've used, this one won't fall apart even with copious use.

2) The emphasis on making your own basics/staples/condiments/spice mixes/sauces/stocks etc. is especially helpful in a keto cookbook.

3) The pictures are enticing!

4) It's a good format, not too big or heavy; and it lays flat. Pleasant to use in the kitchen.

Some cookbooks are like race horses: expensive, fancy and exhilarating; but not well suited to daily life. This one is a real workhorse that will always be there for you when you need it. It can't quite compete with Well Fed: Paleo Recipes for People Who Love to Eat but not everything in life can be perfect ;)

I am always looking for ways to diversify the ketogenic diet that I follow. This, for me, has been the absolute best way to not only lose weight, but feel and look healthier. Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals is a great addition to my cookbook collection. I like that there is a healthy mixture of foods from all kinds of different regions. I love a variety of foods, and like recipes like chicken tikka masala, and moussaka. It is easier to eat well when you have a variety of delicious options! I also like that the nutrition facts are listed, particularly the fat and fiber which are both extremely important to track or at least have an idea of when eating this way. Particularly of note is the dessert section, which is full of delicious ways to conquer my sweet tooth without compromising the Keto way of life. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone following any kind of low carbohydrate diet.

I received and ARC of this via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book offers a good high level overview of the Keto diet, has some great tips on slow cooking as well as various other methods of cooking, and has some interesting recipes without getting to complicated.
I was very happy to receive a copy of this book because I wanted to learn a bit more about Keto and get some recipe ideas. I was pleasantly surprised to see some great advice and tips about how to use the slow cooker. It never crossed my mind to make dessert in a slow cooker and now not only do I have some great recipe ideas, but I know what not to do. I also really like that you tend to see the same ingredients throughout the recipes which means you save some money without the recipes getting overly complicated.
I did notice one typo, at least I think it’s an error. On the page listing Keto friendly veggies, it lists avocados having 12 net carbs but only having approximately 2 carbs. I only noticed because I love avocados.
Other than that, it was a great book and I’m looking forward to making some recipes.

I am going to be honest- I need to lose weight. So when I received a copy of Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals
via Netgalley, I was interested. I do not follow the Keto diet but I have been looking into to see if it was a lifestyle change I want to make. I am all about flavor and I don't like deprivation (hence the reason I need to lose weight haha).

I found that this cookbook has some great recipes that don't lack in flavor and variety. I have made two so far and they are delicious. I think Keto is something I can do!

I received a copy of Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals by Martina Slajerova from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Although I am new to the Keto diet and am still in the learning phase of meal planning, this book was a huge help! It spells out the "rules" simply and then shows how to adhere to them WITHOUT sacrificing taste or one's precious time!

I've only tried a few recipes thus far, but am looking forward to attempting more soon.

This book has a lot of great information on how to lose weight by doing a Keto diet. My husband and I have been on this diet almost two months and this book has helped us a lot. This book is easy to follow and has some great recipes in it as well that are easy to follow. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

While I don't follow a Keto diet, it's great to have some recipes on hand. I've always found that it's hard to strictly follow a diet especially when you work, blog, and go to school like I do. So having a recipe book that gives you one pot and Slow Cooker meals is exactly what I need. Plus most of these recipes sound so good! I am not kidding either.

Cookbooks are usually a mixed bag for me. I am using a loosely based keto diet, but not quite as rigid as this one. I like how the book gives a quick overview in the front about the diet. The cooking instructions are easy to follow and I love how many cultures are represented in the book. Now for what I don’t like. There don’t appear to be specific calorie counts on any of the recipes, just on the macronutrients . Some of the ingredients will require specialty stores to attain. Overall, I think this is a good book with good recipes and I’ll refer back to it when cooking.

This book is a nice series of recipes for a keto diet. The pictures are an excellent compliment to the easy to follow recipes. Also, it has some of the best dessert recipes I've seen in Keto cookbooks which is a hard feat since the overarching flavors in the keto diet are fat and salt.

This book is bursting with keto options for the slow cooker. I was really surprised how many cultural dishes there were that made the book really interesting. Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals contains much more than the usual slow cooker recipes.

I'm excited to try so many of these recipes to have meals prepared when I get home from work. There also were lots of recipes that would freeze well so I could make ahead! I love recipes that call for simple supplies and can be made in advance!

I highly recommend this book to anyone searching for keto meals that are easy to make and super tasty.

This is a very very interesting book!
As a new thing for me, I tried out the ketogenic diet, and am still *somewhat continuing as a result of the experience! I was able to find this as an e-book through my library and fell in love with the creative recipes within the pages: all relying heavily on fats (don't be scared!)

A few examples::
- Green Shakshuka: A twist on a traditional Shakshuka, an Arabic dish of poached eggs in tomatoes, peppers, and onions.
- Slow Cooker Eggplant Parmesan: Not doused in breadcrumbs and absolutely healthy for you!
- Ranch Chicken Casserole: Kid friendly
- Beef Bourguignon: OMG, must I say more?
- and Spiced Bacon Granola.

It gets pretty experimental too. It makes the experience pleasurable and fun.

I love this cookbook! I especially love that it has so many international recipes and a few sweet treats. The one-pot title is a little misleading though. Everything winds up in one pot but some of the recipes include steaming broccoli before adding it to another pan or mixing ingredients in a bowl before adding it. I like to think of one-pot meals equating to less dishes. In this book, that's not always the case. BUT, it's not a deal-breaker because the food is delicious, the recipes are easy to tweak, and most cooks won't mind the work for a healthy meal in the end.

I’m always interested in low carb, higher fat meals, even though I’m not properly following the Keto diet myself. I also really like using a slow cooker (when I’m organised enough, that is) or, even better, one pot to do everything. Less washing up, less fuss! So this book hugely appealed to me, ticking three big boxes (slow cooker, one pot, low carb).

This book is great because it largely sticks with whole foods instead of lots of processed sauces and other ingredients, which also really appeals to me. The dishes are easy enough to follow, with clear photos and without crazily expensive, rare ingredients that you sometimes see in cookbooks trying to impress. These recipes are largely wholesome and nutritious and feel attainable.

The book includes a handy list of low-carb vegetables which I found so useful, and lots of lovely curry paste/ sauce recipes too! There are also great recipes for seasonings and roasting whole vegetables in the slow cooker too, plus some incredibly handy conversions for things like common allergens and sugar to sweetener so you know what you can substitute with what. There’s also a recipe for sauerkraut, which I’ve always fancied making, AND recipes for making your own coconut milk (if you can be arsed to) as well as loads of other handy recipes too.

This book, basically, inspired me in many ways to make more use of the slow cooking setting on my instant pot, instead of just using it to pressure cook or to cook rice. Though there are lots of meat-based recipes (the ‘fish ball tagine’, ‘turkey meatballs’, ‘morrocan lamb stew’ and ‘chicken tikka masala’ looked great), there are also lots of lovely vegetarian options too, like ‘eggplant (aubergine to us brits) parmesan’, and ‘broccoli & mushroom alfredo casserole’. As my partner is pescetarian, I mostly cook vegetarian or pescetarian recipes for both of us, but would definitely try some of the meat recipes for when I’m just cooking for myself. There are also some very tasty dessert recipes too!

All in all, this is a well-rounded Keto slow cooker/ one pot cookbook with recipes that feel attainable and are easy enough to follow. Highly recommended for anyone on a keto diet wanting to make more of their slow cooker, or just fancy keeping washing up to a minimum, or those who fancy a lower-cab diet too (within reason).

I would like to thank Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds Press for providing me with a free electronic ARC of this book, via Netgalley, in exchange for an open and honest review.

If you haven’t guessed it, I love to slow cook. Plus I was curious to see what this whole Keto style of eating was all about. The jokes going around the foodie places I belong to said it was the “fad” replacing paleo…. Which is odd as I thought Keto had been around for decades. And, guess what? It has! Not a FAD folks so calm the heck down!

And I did like some of the recipes as I am in to whole foods, healthy foods, easy to prep meals and ‘Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals’ definitely had all that.

BUT! (You knew I was leading up to one ;-) ) there was just something about this book that didn’t gel with me. I don’t know exactly what it is and I personally do feel it was the fault of the reader (ME!) rather than with the author or the book. It just came across as a rather “you must do it my way or you are doing it wrong” in a lot of places and just rubbed me the wrong way. Please realise this is only my perception and perhaps I was just in an odd mood when I read it?

A heck of a lot of the recipes also were just not my sort of thing. Due to my ever present allium intolerance, dairy issues and other “fun food things, I needed a much wider scope of recipes before I would wish to own this book. Again - fault lies with the reader here people! My opinion on my perceptions! Not me dissing the book, food style or author, as I am sure there are true followers of the Keto diet out there who adored this book.

I was obviously just not meant for the Keto diet and therefore not the audience for this book.

Would I recommend this book to others?

Weeeeellllll….. Maybe?

Gosh, this is a hard one for two reasons. Firstly - the book did not jump out at me and scream “these recipes are awesome! BUY ME!!!!”

Secondly, I am not a master of the Keto diet and so probably not the best person to give an opinion on a Keto cookbook. Yes, my lame out for this book! :-D Not my usual diet, so not my thing to recommend!

Would I buy this book for myself?

Oh honey, I think we all know the answer to this one! No, I wouldn’t. Just not the right cookbook for me. Probably the right cookbook for a Keto loving person who doesn’t have all the food intolerances I have, but me? Not a good match. But, again, I totally feel the fault lies with the reader, not the book.

In summary: A cookbook that has proven to me I am not one for the Keto diet. ;-)

If you’re following a Low Carb diet (Weight Watchers, South Beach, Atkins), need to restrict Gluten, are Wheat Free, dine mainly on Paleo or Mediterranean foods, or have been searching for the perfect Holiday gift for a friend who loves the ease of making meals in their Slow Cooker or One Pot, look no further than Martiná Šlajerova’s 4th and latest cookbook “Keto Slow Cooker & One-Pot Meals”.

In my experience, the majority of recipes for Slow Cookers rely heavily upon canned or powdered soup mixes for flavoring sauces and are filled with high carbohydrate veggies, then served over rice, potatoes or pasta. This book is a return to a real food and clean eating. The low fuss instructions could comfortably fit on the back of an recipe/index card with the ingredients listed on the front.

Among the 100 recipes inside are palate pleasing international selections such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Osso Bucco, Kale Frittata, Jamaican Oxtail Soup, Eggplant Parmesan, and Chicken Paprikash. Pumpkin Pie Custard, Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, & New York Cheesecake with Chocolate Ganache are just a few of the delicious desserts.

Martiná includes tips such as how to cook an entire spaghetti squash in your Slow Cooker. She has recipes on making your own seasoning mixes and curry pastes, as well as a quick homemade mayonnaise. Personally I found her paragraph on the hidden ingredients in most stevia low calorie sweeteners both informative & eye opening.

I will definitely be picking up a copy of this paperback as well as a copy of the author’s “Quick Keto Meals in 30 Minutes or Less” cookbook to incorporate into my healthy eating & weight loss plan.

* Personal Note: I’m not a medical professional, so if you’re not familiar with the term Keto, research Russell Wilder, who while working at the Mayo Clinic coined the term ketogenic for the diet he used to treat diabetic patients. Ketogenic diets have been shown to help reduce the frequency of epileptic seizures, and may assist in managing the symptoms of numerous medical conditions including Hypothyroidism, Alzheimer’s, and high blood pressure.

I decided to post my thoughts and chose leave a review after reading the advance e-copy of this book I received courtesy of Net Galley. Thank you to Fair Winds Press, the Publisher for sending this book to me and giving me an opportunity to read it before the publication date of November 21, 2017!

If you're new to recipes for a ketogenic diet, you'll want to read this book. One thing I've found is that while most keto recipes focus on health and simplicity, many forget flavor. This book does a great job of educating readers on the health benefits of a ketogenic diet while showcasing how delicious and flavorful these recipes can be. Having recipes that can all be done in a slow cooker is an added bonus. I liked the layout of the book--gorgeous pictures for most recipes, easy-to-find nutritional and allergen information, and plenty of recipes to choose from. I'm so thankful this author acknowledges allergens and offers a handy substitution list at the beginning of the book. In fact, the concise tips and tricks at the beginning of the book will be helpful to most readers.

I bookmarked plenty of recipes for future use, and can already recommend the Red Pesto, Make-Ahead Slow Cooker Mash, and Festive Turkey Meatballs. Next on my list is the Creamy "Potato" Soup, Filipino Chicken Adobo, Korean Beef & Kimchi Stew, Spiced Orange Pudding, and Macadamia Chai Cake.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in a ketogenic diet. A number of the recipes will become staples in your weekly menu plan. Plus, these delicious recipes make it enjoyable to stick to a sometimes tricky diet. I plan to put this book on my recommended resources list for nutrition clients and I look forward to seeing more recipes from this author.

With libraries just barely opening, I now have to order books (I’m still not sure in what capacity the interlibrary loan feature is functioning. You return books to a slot in the wall. You cannot enter the building, and you pick up your “holds” at a table outside. To get to that stage, you have to receive acknowledgement through email that the book has arrived, make an online appointment, receive verification, then physically go over and pick up the book(s) which are usually inside a white bag. “When you return books, now, they go into a quarantine period and they don’t take them off of your record for two weeks (I think.) This is our present. Who knows how long it will be in our future.

I may have to check this out again from the library. As I enter it as "read" I have no memory of it, or even if I saved any recipes to try from it. I vaguely remember not being impressed, but I will go looking for it again and may return to this entry ...or not. I am way behind in entering books I have read since last November and now.

This wasn't a great resource for me. Despite the subtitle's inclusion of "better health," there's very little health information in the book; the few references to health are outnumbered by references to weight-loss.

Many of the recipes feature onions heavily; many of the recipes have few ingredients (yea!), but that makes it harder to eliminate or sub out something that doesn't work for individual cooks. So this book isn't great for people trying to follow Low-FODMAPs.

There were some editing problems that were annoying. Things like "combine all except [two ingredients]" and later "add [two ingredients plus one other]" and some other instructions that were poorly edited or out of order. One other example was a recipe that directed to preheat the slow cooker, for 30 min, then put the meat in the sauce and marinate for 8-24 hours.

This is fine for people with no food restrictions except self-imposed ones. Cooks should be at least somewhat experienced, and should read each recipe carefully for errors before beginning, but the recipes do all look tasty.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

I have been on the Keto diet for about a year now with great success and I'm always looking for new recipes to try out while still sticking to Keto. I really like Martina's "Sweet and Savory Fat Bombs" and "Quick Keto Meals in 30 Minutes or Less" cookbooks and this one is no exception. I feel like it could have used a bit more variety though which I'm sure is harder to do when sticking to slow cookers and one pot meals. I highly recommend checking out her website https://ketodietapp.com/Blog and trying her "Secret Ingredient Low-Carb Granola". I make it all the time.

"Cooking in a slow cooker is budget-friendly for several reasons."

This is a guide to low-carb cooking without a ton of prep.

This book focuses on keto recipes and give an explanation of the keto diet's low carb high fat premise. I like that the book has meat and vegetarian options but clearer steps for each recipe would have been helpful. The book explains the different fat options and has quite a few recipes for cauliflower. However if you're looking for recipes that are low on carbs and low on fat this isn't a particularly helpful list.

This book has all sorts of options that sound filling and not too intimidating and if that fits your diet it's worth checking out.

4 Slow Cooker Stars

I've been trying to branch out and find new recipes that are quick and easy top cook but that also taste nice and are healthy. Its hard to get in the mood to cook or be healthy for that matter in the Winter time and something that can help you with this is an added bonus.

I found some great recipes I would have never would have tried before. But I just don't think slow cooking is for me. Is this book worth checking out? Yes its is very nicely presented and looks great with some amazing recipes to try.

I was drawn to this title after hearing about the amazing weight loss of a couple of my friends who follow this diet. However, I was underwhelmed by the book and didn't find any recipe I really felt like I wanted to try. Probably it's just me.

***Disclaimer: This e-ARC was provided to me by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Huge thanks to them. ***

Such a good resource for those starting keto. People who have been keto for a while will also get a lot of value from this.

I found it to be more than just a cookbook. There is a lot more info and tips than most other keto books I have read.

Stocks, Bone broths, curry and other condiments, her family favourites etc. Really enjoyed this book and will probably buy the physical copy

Just not at all what i would hope from a slow cooker cook book. Lots of really kind of ridiculous high end meals, when I think slow cooker I think food for the soul. But that’s just me. There wasn’t a single recipe in here that looked good enough to try.

I don't have a slow cooker but true to it's title, there are lots of one-pot meals here. I tried the Greek Briam which was terrific. I look forward to make more of the recipes, especially some of the soups.
