I consider myself a hobbyist in nutrition, so when everyone at work began drinking ionized, alkaline water I thought I should do some research to find out what it's all about. I read the first few chapters of this book and then went to do some research on-line to discover a lot of controversial information. The most useful source I found was on quackwatch.com. Basically, Robert O. Young (the author of this book and founder of an MLM marketing alkalizing products) has graduate degrees that are not creditable, has been arrested a number of times, has never published in any creditable journals, and has been highly criticized by many creditable medical researchers and doctors. His basic theory is that disease happens because the body's ph is too acidic. His critics say that changing the ph of what one eats will change the ph of your urine but that won't have any effect on the ph of your blood or other body systems. Beware people...lots of misinformation out there.

Please ignore the bad reviews or the non-believers. They are just spreading hate and why are they trying to sway people from a system of health and eating that truly works. YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I am a real testimonial of someone who has tried parts of the diet and witnessed amazing results! Why would nasty people review a health and diet book they have not actually tried themselves?? Absolute madness! (I don't ever write reviews but I'm so mad with those who are attempting at putting people off this great book).

I have attempted say 40% of recommended diet and know that it works. i.e.. I just made simple changes, cut down on baddies like sugar, coffee, dairy and meat (but I still have bread and pasta) Started having 'green drinks' couple times a week and drinking wheatgrass. Eat more salads and fresh veg... Lots of Kale and Spinach, Cucumber, Broccoli, Garlic. I have not had a cold or flu in 4 years.... in fact all of my friends have noted that. Also I do not suffer acid reflux anymore... Which used to be one of my major gripes. Trust me if you follow even a portion of this diet like I have you will get raised energy levels and your immunity will strengthen, skin will clear a bit (wrinkles soften) and you will lose lots of weight. Weight falls too quickly... so much so that I had to start eating more nuts, seeds, lentils and natural oils to keep some weight on. This is coming from someone who had excess weight from my teens that I could never shake off. The 'biggy' is cutting out or cutting down on sugars which Dr Young recommends. Calling him a quack is unnecessary.. the man is a microbiologist. If he wanted he could easily go get the qualifications to be a so called 'Dr of medicine'. He might not be a 'real Dr' but I personally have friends who are qualified 'Dr's and they know nothing of nutrition and health. The real Quacks are those practising in the 'medical profession' who know nothing of holistic healing. My personal story is that I suffered quite chronically from acid reflux and my GP sent me to an ear, nose, throat specialist who in one appointment offered surgery! Then my GP offered an alternative of synthetic medication for the 'rest of my life', imagine the side effects from that? I was appalled... No thanks! There are other ways to heal myself.

I can guarantee that this is an excellent book and I only wish that more people would try it and see for themselves. I used to suffer along with acid reflux from allergies, back ache, headaches, candida (thrush) and sometimes nasty infections... we all suffer from diff ailments in our lives. I have healed my immunity and not touched antibiotics in 4 years! I have not needed to. In all honesty I occasionally still suffer from allergies but no where near as bad as I used to. Also sometimes I get acid reflux when I've fallen 'off the wagon' and indulged in a heavy meal with wine. When I get home I have a 'green drink' to balance it out... The pain and discomfort is diminished quickly. Sometimes it helps 60-70% other times it clears 100% almost instantly. It all is dependant on how 'acidic' my body is. But hey I had problems all my life and nothing from the chemist or prescribed from the 'Dr' ever worked reliably.... until I discovered Dr Young. I thank the heavens that his research and knowledge was shared with me. Like I said it will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Go for it and please ignore the haters! Peace and love to you xxxx

One of the more absurd books I've ever read. I decided to read it because I knew people who held it in high regard. Dr. Young is a quack and a complete pseudoscientist. The book reduces all health questions to a matter of PH balance. He believes that are diets are far too acidic, and if we return to diets of vegetables, no meat, and little fruits, we would restore the proper balance. Cancer, almost every sickness, and even HIV come from excessive acid in the bloodstream.

Dr. Young's absurdities abound. He believes in "pleomorphism"—the idea that cells can change forms from bacteria, to healthy cells, to fungus, to cancer cells, or anything in between. They can also conveniently vanish, because the root of all cells is little seeds (I think he calls them "zysmas" or something like that.)

What makes the book persuasive for some people is that it's filled with testimonials. Most of them give only the first name, but the only testimonial with the full name is a woman named Kim Tinkham. She was on Oprah and testified about how she had been healed from cancer by following Dr. Young's diet. The book records the complete story of how the diet changed her life. Ironically, the only testimonial you can actually google (because of the full name) leads you to the truth that she is now dead—only 3 years later.

This book is highly redundant and full of absurdities. There is very little information (if any) that is helpful in any way. Don't waste your time.

My favorite ideas from this book include the zippy breakfast--I love it!--and Bragg liquid aminos (way better than soya sauce for you). The recipes are easy to make and good for you. I also have been drinking my greens in the morning and feel great all day--energized (usually 1 cup spinach leaves, 1 cup cucumber, 1 tsp ginger powder, a whole peeled lemon, and an apple blended in the Vitamix--totally yummy).

While I think that PH balance is important and agree with many of the key concepts in this book (we really become what we eat), I think that " all things in moderation" is the key as we each work to discover what our own bodies feel like after eating. I have seen too many fad diets come and go--eat salt, no salt, use eggs, don't use eggs . . . Honestly, if your food choices are as close as possible to fresh, you concentrate on what is in season, and you limit meats and the processed stuff, you will feel refreshed and comfortable after eating. If you have your optimal weight and feel great, you probably have chosen well for your personal body type. I, for instance am a typical Scandinavian Finn, I don't do well with dairy products although I can eat cheese occasionally, I really need to avoid sugar and processed junk, and find most American breads are off limits--I think it is the yeast.

We all need to eat sparingly, read nutrition books thoughtfully, and experiment; after all, we are our own best physicians.

I really love this book so far. I've been searching for a book that has some common sense ways of helping me to deal with some of my medical issues. The authors ( one of which is a doctor) spent many years of trial and error, using themselves as genie pigs, before they updated the current version of this book. Having worked in toxicology, chemistry labs and in Hazmat I understand the importance of maintaining a proper PH balances with all things. This book goes into how you need to alkalize your body in order to maintain a healthy Ph Balance, where by you will have good health, loose weight, wart off diseases ect... In fact diseases can only live in an acidic environment. So if you alkalize your blood and your body, then you create an environment in which all known diseases cannot live in.
The authors identify that what we eat is the main determining factor of the PH in our blood and bodies. Sometimes the environment can also effect our ph.
I could really relate to one of the opening statements by Shelly when she said "I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired."
Although I've lost a lot of weight on my own in the last couple of months, especially by working out with my friend Ashli at the gym, going on walks with my daughter and eating smarter.I still think there's something missing that I'm not quite doing right. This book seems to have some unique, unconventional answers as I scan through the future chapters I haven't read yet, like Alkalizing supplements, alkalizing exercises, alkalizing whole body cleanses, along with alkalizing our bodies through better diet choices.

I think If I practice some of the concepts in this book, in combination with my other book, "Low Fat Living Today"...That I could really get my health back under control once and for all.

This is a radicle move from the American Diet, one that would not satisfy 90% of the population but none the less if you are facing major health challenges you may want to take a look at this book and follow up with the additional books listed throughout the reference pages.

Following this diet or eating lifestyle will put you in a state that you haven't known since your youngest years. Well for me anyway, I was born at a very young age. To detoxify is a feeling that is almost unsurpassed, and this book will get you there and to a level that most books won't push you to, unless they are strickly vegitarian.

This book really changed my thinking about eating and what type of foods I put in my body for energy. I've stayed away from sugar and eat way more high alkaline foods. In 1 month I've lost 13 lbs without even trying.. I didn't do the cleanse, I just make sure 80% of my daily foods are alkaline, lots of veggies. I do eat occasional meat, chicken, brown rice, as well as Skinny Pop for an evening snack.
V8 for breakfast is a great way to start your day.

I read a lot of books on health and nutrition. Opinions and findings are wide and varied and so I take what I like, and leave the rest.
I’m not a fan of cleanses, and so I skimmed the chapter on that. I also am of the opinion that drinking any water is the best choice, and so though ph drops and filters sound nice, to me that’s not a deal breaker. Just drink lots and lots of water.

I liked learning about alkaline vs acidic foods and lots more...here are my notes:

“The optimal alkalizing dietary approach for creating and maintaining optimal well-being is organic, plant source only, 80% live food, and low glycemic. Dr. Young’s revolutionary teaching about minimizing fruit in the diet, especially sweet fruits, is both courageous and one that I share with him. The other components of the healthy alkalizing diet are good hydration, high oxygen intake, and highly mineralized food intake.… I would add one additional emphasis, which is to eat moderately, as excessive eating, even of the most alkalinizing food can also create acidity because it overloads the digestive system.“xiv

When in balance occurs, we get the signs of disease (or dis-ease): low energy, fatigue, poor digestion, excess weight, foggy thinking, aches and pains, as well as major disorders.
The top three killers in the United States are heart disease, cancer, or diabetes and all of those are directly linked to diet. The problem is that while Diet is the key not only to slimness but also to overall health and well-being, it Has to be a diet that properly balances our body chemistry.
The single measurement most important to your health is the pH of your blood and tissues. Page 3-5

80% of your diet must be alkalizing food such as green vegetables. Get at least 3/4 of your plate covered with alkalizing food. Page 6

The human body is meant to be alkaline, and the body will go to great links to maintain the appropriate, slightly basic, nature of its blood and tissues. Over acidification of body fluids and tissues underlies all disease. It’s only when it is acidic that the body is vulnerable to germs. The relationship between acid and base is scientifically quantified on a scale of 0 to 14 known as PH which stands for potential hydrogen. On that scale, seven is neutral. Below seven is acid and above it basic, or alkaline.
Two kinds of chemicals, acids and bases, or opposites and when they meet in certain ratios, they cancel each other out, creating a neutral pH. In the blood and other fluids and body tissue, it takes about 20 times as much bass to neutralize any given amount of acid, so it’s better and easier to maintain balance than it is to regain balance when the body gets seriously out of whack. Page 12

Over acidity and microform overgrowth are inextricably linked. Microforms are a major source of acid in the body. Acidification creates a comfy environment for micro forms. We predispose ourselves to both conditions through various stresses. The main one is poor diet… Cell‘s work to adapt to the declining pH of their compromised acidic environment. They break down and evolve to bacteria, yeast, and mold. These in turn create their waste products, debilitating acids, which further pollute the environment. That in itself is a disturbance to the system, and in this way the whole cycle keeps rolling along.
Eating the right kind of food is the single most important thing you can do for yourself and your health.… The closer your pH is to 7.365, the higher your level of health and well-being, and the stronger your resistance to disease. Page 26 and 27

Chapter 3 confusing symptoms and disease
Symptoms are just indications that you are overly acidic. Germs come from within ourselves, and germs invading from outside the body can only contribute to a State of imbalance and stimulate secondary symptoms.

Weight
In a defensive maneuver, the body creates fat cells to carry acid away from your vital organs to try to protect them. In one sense, your fat is saving your life. When you eat and drink to make your body more basic, your body won’t need to keep that fat around anymore. sugar is an acid food pg 31

Top ten foods that cause allergic or acidic reactions:
1. Dairy products
2. Meat and shellfish
3. All forms of sugar
4. Vinegar
5. Mushrooms and algae
6. Peanuts and peanut oil
7. Corn
8. Fermented foods such as soy sauce and miso
9. Eggs
10. Alcohol
Pg 35

Microforms- bacteria, yeast, fungus and mold
Microforms deplete you’re supplies of b-complex vitamins, iron and other minerals. Another result of microforms draining off your body’s nutrients is that you have rapid drops in blood sugar levels, which again creates fatigue, poor endurance and weakness. -36

When you have an acidic body and when Coenzyme A decreases, such conditions as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, irritability, mood swings, and PMS often appear or become worse. 38

Diabetes-sugar is not a source of energy but an acidic waste product from the breakdown of body cells. The more sugar or acid we eat, the more we risk an increase in bacteria, yeast, and molds.
Type two diabetes is the natural physiological and metabolic result of consuming large quantities of sugars and refined carbohydrates and meat protein, especially without engaging in regular physical exercise which could help compensate for such dietary practices. Cut out all forms of sugar, eliminate animal proteins, and get regular exercise. Pg 39

Osteoporosis: you can protect your bones and muscles and other organs with an alkaline lifestyle and diet. Keeping the body alkaline through diet and the right kind of exercise is the best way to slow down aging in general, and avoid all disease processes. Page 41

Kidneys are responsible for eliminating acids out of the blood and recycling alkalinity back in. Page 43

Cancerous cells: healthy cells in the human body thrive in mild, moderate, and high pH fluids( 7.3 to 11 PH). They do not tolerate even a mild acid state. Cancer cells, on the other hand, thrive in an acidic pH of 5.5. Cancer cells become dormant at a pH slightly above 7.365, and transform back to the microzyma or die at a pH of 8.5 pg 44

you can fight the development of a cancerous condition by increasing the alkalinity of your tissues, building in a diet based around green vegetables, fresh vegetable juice, unprocessed salts, good oil‘s, and alkaline water together with nutritional supplements, exercise, and alkaline lifestyle choices. You have to cut out acidic foods such as animal protein, alcohol, and sugar, and give up acidic habits as well(need more sleep and less stress). Page 45

Eating animal products and processed foods, ingesting chemicals, over eating, and excess stress of all types disrupt and weaken the alkaline state of the digestive tract. Page 59

In general, animal foods (meat, eggs, dairy), processed and refined foods, yeast products, fermented foods, grains, artificial sweeteners, sweet fruit, and natural and artificial sugars are acidifying, as are alcohol, coffee, chocolate, black tea, and sodas. Vegetables on the other hand are alkalizing. That includes a few that are technically fruits like avocado, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper. A few non-sweet citrus fruits such as grapefruit, lemon, and lime are also basic in the body as are sprouted seeds, nuts, and grains. Grains are acidifying, though a few like millet, buckwheat, and spelt are only mildly so. Raw foods are more alkalizing, while cooked food is more acidifying. Food saturated with hydroxyl ions or electrons are alkaline. Food saturated with hydrogen ions or protons are acidic. In this way the pH scale is also a measurement of the electrical energy in food or drink. Alkaline foods are full of electrons or electrical energy. Electrons are in fact what makes them alkaline. This is the energy the body runs on… acidic foods Pull electron energy from the body.
The lower the acidity of the food the fewer alkaline buffers or electrons are required. The fewer that are required, the more the alkaline reserves and energy of the body are preserved. The conservation of all that potential provides a boost in your overall energy. Page 66

COWS - Chlorophyll, oil, water, and salt

Vegetables are your new best friends. They are some of the lowest calorie, lowest sugar, most nutrient rich foods on the planet. 67
Green vegetables and particularly leafy greens have the highest amounts of Chlorophyll.
Fiber acts like a sponge, soaking up acids from the body. It also works like a broom, cleaning out the intestines. Page 68

Lack of water is the number one cause of daytime fatigue. without enough water you won’t have enough energy. You feel tired and weak. Page 72

Exercising itself accelerates the lymphatic process, that is sweating, getting rid of excess acids and wastes through that all important third kidney- the skin. 81

What to eat:
Avocados, tomatoes, sprouts, lemons, limes, grapefruit, pomegranates, herbs and spices, vegetable juices, low-carb vegetables, non-animal protein, fresh fish occasionally.

avocados are 80% healthy fat and 15% protein. They provide more protein than cows milk. They contain all of the essential amino acid‘s which are the building blocks of proteins. They help lower cholesterol. Tomatoes and avocados are an ideal pairing. 88 & 90

Sprouts or just about the best food you can eat. They can transfer their life energy to you.

Though lemons, limes and grapefruits are chemically acid, my test show that when they are metabolized in the body they actually have an alkalizing effect because of their high concentration of sodium and potassium bicarbonate salts. They have very little acid sugar. ..Squeeze fresh lemon and lime into your purified water throughout the day, especially before going to sleep for the night. Don’t take lemon or lime within half an hour before a meal, or for 10 minutes after you finish eating. It is best to drink an hour before eating, and then wait until digestion has taken place to drink more.91

The most common complex carbohydrate grains are the most acid forming, wheat and rice. They make mucus too. They have to stay in that 20% of your diet. Corn you should avoid all together. On the other hand amaranth, quinoa and spelt are only slightly acidic, and Millet and buckwheat hover between neutral, slightly acidic and slightly alkaline. Buckwheat groats and millet are high in protein and Digest slowly, keeping blood sugar balanced. Spelt contains more protein, healthy fats and fiber than wheat. 94

Avoid fermented soy products such as miso, Tempeh, and soy sauce page 99

What To Avoid:
Sugar (including white sugar, brown sugar, processed beet, cane, corn sugars and syrup‘s, maple syrup, Honey, molasses, sucrose, fructose, maltose, lactose, glucose, mannitol, sorbitol, galactose, monosaccharides, date sugar, turbinado sugar, candy, soft drinks, pastries, ice cream, chocolate, Carob and yes even natural sugars from fruit. The body does not need sugar. Artificial sweeteners are as bad or worse. Stevia ok.

Simple carbs such as White flour, white rice, corn and potato.

Refined and processes, fruit, dairy products, processed salt, saturated and other and healthy fats, meat and eggs, stored greens, yeast, edible fungus, spur of the Lena and algae supplements, fermented and multi products, alcohol, caffeine, corn and peanut products, heated oils, microwave food, and artificial sweeteners.

Chapter 8, food combining

Tips and tricks: When soaking dried beans or cooking cabbage add a dash of mineral salt to the water to make them less gaseous, reducing or eliminating the flatulence they can cause

Chapter 11 whole body cleanse

Focus on alkalizing vegetables, especially green and yellow vegetables, and include healthy mono and polyunsaturated oil‘s, low acid sugar fruits like tomato, avocado, lemon, and lime, have soybeans, tofu, lentils, raw seeds and nuts. vegetable soup‘s, steamed fried vegetables, and lots of salads, with liberal amounts of flax, hemp, avocado, and olive oils added after cooking. 178

if all the information that follows seems like too much, remember that you can make quite a lot of progress using just concentrated green powder and alkalizing pH drops along with a alkaline diet. 184

During marathons or any extended athletic event, take 1 tbsp of salta one 6-8 Oz water every hour. To increase sprint speed in running or swimming take 1 tablespoon of salt in 6 to 8 ounces of water one hour before the event. Page 192

Chapter 13 alkaline exercise
Sweating is important. Perspiration moves acids out of your body through the pores in your skin. Sweating opens up your pores which allows both liquid and gaseous acids to pass through 13

Exercise is what you need to activate your lymphatic system, and you need to pump your lymphatic system to get and keep your body alkaline. Page 216
Choose aerobic exercise (jogging rather than sprinting). Aerobic means with oxygen.
Anaerobic is without oxygen. It will make the body more acidic .

Lactic acid is the one usually causing the aches and pains you feel during and after exercise. It’s a sign your cells are primarily breaking down to release needed electrons for increased demands for energy. The waste product of this cellular breakdown is increased amounts of an acid known as sugar.
When you exercise you should feel peaceful, grounded, connected to your environment, even euphoric. You’ll think clearly, you’ll breathe quietly and easily, through your nose and be able to chat while exercising. Page 219

Deep breathing helps release acid toxins from the body by increasing lymphatic slow. Page 223

If we don’t exercise our bodies, our bones and muscles don’t get enough stress to trigger bone and muscle development. The extreme case of this is what happens when we are bedridden, and are skeletons and muscles don’t even have to do the work of caring around our body weight: traumatic loss of bone density and muscle tone and strength. Page 228

Stay focused on your motivation. The gift of life and health. Be specific about your motivation to make this program a new way of life. If you stay focused on your own motivations, goals, and intentions, and gently but firmly turn down foods that could contribute to your condition, those around you will eventually understand and respect your choices. Page 233
Pace is vital. This is more like a marathon than a sprint. 235
Write down your goals and keep them where you can see them. Practice is repetition, and repetition of any skill increases your ability in that skill. As you practice these new, healthy habits, you will develop a skilled, intuitive way of feeding your body what it needs without feelings of deprivation. 236

Feeling guilty or down about your mistake is a waste of time, a drain of energy, and will only cause more acidity. Forgive yourself and just start moving forward again. Restate your motivation and goals. Page 237

How could you not believe in the power of hydrogen? But then again, how could you write a book about its miraculousness without writing out its superpower-esque name?

As for the book's content, I found the basic science behind what happens to your body when it becomes too acidic to be extremely helpful and relevant information. It angers me that neither you nor I learned it in middle school health class. The details of how it works were not exactly clearly presented, however, as is typical of these type of pop health books. I understand that it is extremely difficult to present end product research to an audience that barely knows what a cell is, but I do like to feel like the author is giving it their best shot. I'm not entirely sure that was the case here, as the science only makes up a small portion of the book. I also felt skeptical about the empirical conclusions drawn from some of the evidence presented. I'm sure there was a more detailed line of reasoning behind Dr. Young's thinking than what was presented, but I often found myself thinking, "Well, there could have been a number of reasons for that."

Unfortunately, I found the recipes to be highly detrimental to the book, even if not horrible on their own. They comprise about half the book but rarely fall within the 80% (raw veggie) part of the diet that is really fundamental to the pH Miracle. They do avoid fruit, vinegar, yeast, mushrooms, peanuts, and animal products, but they include wheat and other cooked grains, and virtually all of them involve cooked vegetables. The effect was to convince me that the miracle diet Dr. Young just convincingly described is completely unsustainable, even by his own family. Fortunately, I know this is not the case, as I've since bookmarked loads of great raw veggie recipes on the web that I'm now excited to subsist on based on what I learned about pH here.

Finally, the issue of measuring the effect of food on blood and tissue pH seems to me highly controversial and not well addressed here at all. For example, I have heard elsewhere that fruit is highly alkalinizing, but Young claims quite the opposite. He explains this via the connection of sugar to byproducts of candida, but I'm left wondering if fruit is okay - even good - for people who are already in balance. I have yet to read 80-10-10, but from what I can tell, it does seem that history suggests benefits to a human diet high in fruit. That said, I know I'm not in balance (perhaps a result of heavy antibiotic usage since birth). I read the book because adding just a few pieces of fruit each day to my diet was causing problems for me, so I'm going to try Young's approach; I just wish I could reconcile it with other compelling theories of nutrition.

I'm hoping to get a hold of the newer, longer, paperback edition of this book soon, and I'll update this review if my issues are addressed there.

Great info, most of which is common sense if you are at all privy to healthy eating concepts. The downside is the fact that the diet is WAY too rigid, depends on WAY too many supplements and there is WAY too much argument over what foods are alkaline and which are acidic. The fact that testing the acidity or alkalinity of a food is not an exact science leaves an excessive amount of room for error. It is easy to find so much conflicting information when you dig deeper into the the diet: some folks think fruit is acidic while others find it highly alkalizing. There just isn't enough concrete information on what to eat and what not to eat. But, in general the idea is great: eat lots of veggies, mostly leafy greens, and moderate amounts of everything else, which is a lifestyle I can definitely support.

So far, I'm convinced enough to try the diet. It sounds like a quack to many, and I'm having an emotional time with the idea of giving up yeastie things, sugar, coffee, chocolate and other emotionally soothing foods. But, I think it will do more good than the emotional break up with my foodie-ness will bring.

The author's idea is interesting, but maybe a bit too simplistic?! To follow his suggestions would be a radical change. I asked my doctor about it and he said to stay away from the extremes of this. We all know we need to eat more veggies - especially greens of all kinds. I guess I believe in balance and to eat a lot less than we do.

This book is life changing. I received a used copy and read it a few years back. I believe the information in this book is a must have with the quality of our poor food supply and toxic environment in which we live. I purchased two additional books for family members, also used copies. So, a total of $10 and if this small investment goes toward the "quackery" claims, then so be it.

False science. Some well known positive advice (eat vegan)thrown in with some really bad advice.(skip iodized salt, mercury from large fish won’t hurt you, get all your nutrients from pills, buy my really expensive products, etc..). All poorly written in a very preachy cultish way. Imagine that. A cult from a guy named Young in Utah.

This is an amazing revealing book. I think it should be read in schools, the fundamental information about health in it, about your PH, makes it all worth to read.

This book I found in a library's DISCARD bin, so I read the first two chapters. The book makes assertions that are demonstrably false, insulting, asinine, and dangerous. The $cientology cultist who wrote it knows nothing at all about how human bodies work, let alone how Ph. works in human bodies. There is no such things as magical spontaneous generation chemicals that "appear" when blood is "too acidic:" the claim that altering food Ph. by diet is beyond idiotic, as it is false and contrary to the laws of physics.

Skip this garbage: it's a scam.

The man who knows it all

The wroter has cure for everything. From cancer to headache. And the proof is himself.

Looking at positive reviews of this book. I wonder how easy it is to get people to like your "cure-all-ideas" , without much substance.

La salud del cuerpo tiene mucho que ver con el nivel de acidez y alcalinidad del cuerpo. En este libro se encuentra información valiosa para conocer los alimentos que abonan en la salud y no los que nos enferman lentamente hasta matarnos!

The concepts in this book are interesting. But the changes in diet/supplements, “green powder”, it’s waaaaaaaay too complicated. When a diet is this difficult to follow it will ultimate fail (at least for me). And the “proof” is the anecdotal stories which are like reading an infomercial.

A quick read once I had the basics down. Helped me understand more about how to choose my foods; how and why to eliminate certain foods.

Following the PH plan in this book saved me from the worst case of reflux, esophageal spams, and GERD my specialist had ever seen without actual ulcerations in my stomach and esophagus. I was on many medications and following the plan has resulted in no more medications for me!
One less star because the claim that it is a cure all, even for cancer, bothers me.
