HARDEN'S TREE - A group of teens visit a tree planted atop the ashes of a mass murderer from late 1800's. STAR CROSSED KILLERS - Two lovers, both deadly killers, compete for the same target. COUNTING SHEEP - A future terrorist gives an insomniac three minutes to fall asleep. HEARING AID - In the future, a deaf man is healed, but does he like what he hears? DARK SEED OF THE MOON - Vampires live, and kill, in the eternal shadow of the moon's polar crater. BOUGHT AND PAID FOR (Bonus Story) - A brutal character sketch for Scott Sigler's THE CRYPT.

A collection of short stories, Insomnia carries a bit of the creepy factor here and gore factor there. Sadly, most are too short. Would be interested to see where some of these stories went if Jeremy Robinson decided to continue with them.

This was a great series of short stories, which are made even better by an afterword after each one, where Jeremy Robinson allows some insight into why he wrote the story, or what the basis of the story was for, as well as insights into himself. A great read.

INSOMNIA
Insomnia - a world where people work constantly and are given a drug to keep them going. Sleep is banned because it creates dreams, which lead to chaos. What an amazing story and a fantastic unexpected ending.

The Eater - creepy but great. Especially liked the afterword about Jeremy and his brothers.

Harden's Tree - very short but fun and spooky.

Star Crossed Killers - brings to mind Mr & Mrs Smith. I keep using the word 'fun', but that is really the best word for this.

Counting Sheep - a really good story that leaves you wondering and gives an interesting insight into the mindset of the author.

Hearing Aid - this was a thought provoking futuristic story about noise pollution and the rampant and insidious nature of advertising. As a hearing aid specialist, I actually really enjoyed it for how close to reality it was for people who are hearing for the first time. As I like to remind my clients from time to time, it's a damn noisy world out there!

Dark Seed of the Moon - gruesome and good.

From Above - a fun futuristic adventure.

Bought and Paid For - talk about a cliffhanger. Will definitely be reading the full novel for which this short character intro was written.I

Excellent collection of short stories. They were all fascinating and eerie. All my favorite genres….horror, sci-fi, thriller, noir & action…..can’t ask for more than that! One of my top anthologies of the year.

Jeremy has a collection of short stories here that are a variety of genre. I enjoyed all the stories, a few more than others, but the whole collection is a great addition to the shelf. I was not let down in a few cases as Jeremy has a way of giving a spin on the story I didn't expect. Very enjoyable collection! I got a feel for each story as I listened, something deeper than what is being told. I enjoyed hearing Jeremy's brief afterward with each story. He shared where he was or what he was thinking about when writing them. This description goes with the theme that was interlaced in the stories.

This collection of short stories has a wide selection of genres. Most are under 20 minutes, so if you want to get a quick listen in, these are great. They were a fun and quick read with interesting outcomes. Even though they are short, they have a sense of closure, except for the last story, which is more of an excerpt. The narration was great with some changes in voice for the characters. I recommend this book. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I am not usually a short story fan, but I really enjoyed listening to Insomnia. I think what made this so enjoyable was the brief insight at the end of each story as to why it was written. The stories reached across different genres which made it even more interesting.

Jeremy Robinson has delivered a set a spine tingling short stories, that I would never have expected from him. It's so different from his crazy, thrilling, adventure rides that it actually threw me off and I was left wanting more. I know they are only short stories but maybe they were just too short for for me.

I really liked "Hearing Aid". It's kinda sad but true in a way. I have hearing impaired friends and this is exactly would it would be like for them if suddenly they could hear. I don't live in a big city but it's more noise than where my outside country friends live and there is a difference.

Each story made me think and put myself in their shoes. It was scary towards the end of the book. Avery good short read to change your genre and clear your head for a bit if you are an avid reader like myself.

Wonderful short stories that include various topics, horror, science fiction, mystery . . . A mix that I enjoyed reading one story almost every evening, after the sun set - - - makes for a more "thrilling and creepy" reading experience.

I enjoyed "Insomnia" the most - perhaps because I have nights when I am unable to sleep.

Jeremy Robinson's afterwards complimented each story . . . So I re-read all of them with his words stuck in my mind. This gave a new light to each story as well as a new reading experience.

Lovely book which I greatly recommend to add to your shelves.

The cover art is spectacular also.

Insomnia is a book of short stories written by one of my favorite authors. These stories are interesting and thought provoking. They are simple but engaging. In these stories we find a man who finds something better than working 12 hours a day, a killer tree, a vampire colony on the moon and several other engaging stories.

Jeremy Robinson also includes short little narratives regarding how he came to write these stories. I would actually recommend this book to everyone. There is something to take away from each story and special glimpses into the author’s life.

These short stories were fun and quick to read and the afterword that Jeremy Robinson wrote after each story explaining the origin was interesting and insightful. A couple of the stories stood out more than the rest but that is just personal preference and takes nothing away from the other stories at all.

Some strange stories for insomnia. Don't think I've ever been bothered with it, but feel for people who do. We need our sleep! Fast reading book, though. Think I could have read more.

I received a free copy of this audiobook for an honest review.

I've listened to three books by Jeremy Robinson, so far; I have another one in my queue. I've loved them all!

This was a nice batch of weird, interesting, what-the-heck-am-I-listening-to kind of stories. My favorite! LOL There was such a variety to the stories, yet they all had something about them that made me wish they were longer. I tend to not do so well with short stories because a good majority of the time, I feel like it ends too soon...as in before the story is really complete. The author might think he or she is done, but the story itself isn't. Maybe they prefer to leave it on a cliffhanger of sorts? I don't know. And it has nothing to do with my wanting it longer, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I think I like the story about the deaf man who ends up getting his hearing back just to lose it again. That's the most memorable story to me because it's somewhat easy to understand how he feels, going from no sound to lots of sound. I can only imagine how scary or strange that would be.

I only have one question. Of course, it's relating to the deaf man story. At the end, what in the world did he shoot? At first I thought he was going to kill himself because he couldn't handle all the noise, but he didn't. Yet, there was blood, he didn't have to go to the hospital, based on his girlfriend's response, he had no obvious wounds... What was it?

Also forgot... When the author provides some background information...really about anything, whether it's their story or even just their personal life? I love it! In this case, finding out what got his or her juices flowing that created their stories is always just a huge bonus for me.

The narrator did an a-ma-za-zing job! I love him! It was easy to tell he was really getting into the stories based on his narration. I feel like I hardly get to listen to narrators that just smesh with the characters so well.
