But I still ended up on the Loser list -- in the girls' bathroom. I had to get my name off that list. I had no idea I'd land in detention, turn into a juvenile delinquent, lose my best friend, get humiliated in front of the whole school... and save the day.

Hmmm.

So with all they hype of the Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries books it's hard to sell me on unoriginal "copies" of the originals.

The Loser List is just that to me.

You've got a "geek", a oddball best friend, the mean girl, and the "big guys" who beat the smaller, nerdier kids up. And to top it off, the main character in this book draws tattoos on the popular kids' arms. Sound familiar? Yeah, it happens in Dork Diaries.

Not to mention the super cool kid lingo the entire way through.

Now, by the end, the message is a good one that I definitely support and think that more kids need to hear more often.

I also know that I have plenty of boy readers who will, no matter what my opinion is, enjoy reading this book. I'm not saying that it wasn't enjoyable or a fun quick read, but I did not laugh out loud reading it like I did with most of the Wimpy Kid books and Dork Diaries.

This book is about a boy named Danny who gets his name on a loser list in the girls bathroom. Despreate to get his name off this list he sneaks in the girls bathroom but gets caught then ups up in detention. He thinks he will get beat up because he is a nerd but it turns out he really starts hanging out with the "bad" boys. This really gets him in a lot of trouble. His best friend leaves him, the guys ask him to graffiti school property.


I gave this book five stars. I really liked this book because one it teaches you could happen if you surround yourself with bad people bad things could begin to happen to you. Two is its ok to be a nerd or not popular. Popularity is not a important thing.

This book reminds me a lot of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This is about a boy who gets caught trying to cross his name off of a loser list in the girls bathroom and gets sent to detention. He get picked on and made fun of until they learn that he can draw. This book is a good way to get students to start reading things that they are interested in. This would be a good book for late elementary students or early middle school students.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Have you ever wanted to be popular so bad that you choose the popular kids over your bestfriend then started to realise that you needed him or her that was your bestfriend? Well thats wat happen to Danny. This book is Realistic Fiction because this can happen in real life. To me this was a very good book I liked it so bad that im going to read part two of it.

So there was a boy named Danny Shine he was 12 years old a 7th grader at the school Gerald Ford Middle School. He had a best friend named Jasper they knew each other sense they were very young. Danny's biggest fear was Chantel Davis,Axl and the rest of the skulls gang. Danny's crush is Asia O'Neil but no one knows except Jasper his best friend. So one day Danny was in class and he couldn't stop thinking about his crush Asia O'Neil he just couldn't wait to go to lunch so he could see her. When they got to lunch he was So excited to see her he went right behind her in line and started talking to her. Axl on of the people from the group skulls thought it would be funny to push him so he did. Danny bumped into Asia and made her spill her food on someone and that started a whole food fight. Some boy just Threw something at someone and everyone just started to throw stuff. Axl threw Something at Asia and Danny got mad so he picked up something and threw it at Axl. When Danny threw it Danny realised that he made the biggest mistake ever so he tried to run and Axl caught him. Axl was About to punch him and beat him up but the principal cam eand saw him and Axl got in trouble and got a detention. When Axl got out the office he saw Danny and threated him saying he go beat him up. The next day they had detention after school but Danny didn't know that Axl had Detention as well as the rest of the People in the Group Skulls. But also Axl and the group didn't Know that Danny had detention to. So when they seen him they were throwing notes at him saying he were going to die and how they were go beat him up and he was so scared. He was waiting for the bell to ring so he can run, the bell rang and Danny darted out the room and Axl and the rest of the skulls started chasing after him. Danny thought he lost them so he stopped and then Axl and his group popped out of no where and grabbed him by his arm and Axl was getting ready to punch him in his stomach. Axl rolls up his shirt and Danny spots the maker tattoo on his forearm and said's I can draw better skulls then that if u wanna see? Axl responds Really? yea I can show u and he struggles out of the grip of the skull members that were holding him and pulls out his sketchbook and shows him. Axl is surprised he likes his drawing so much that he asked him can he come over to his place and draw it for him and that got him out of his situation of getting beat up. So when he started drawing fake tatoos for the Skulls group Axl asked Danny does he want to join the group? And Danny says yes because he doesn't want to get beat up anymore by them. So after he says yes he started to hang out with them more instead of his bestfriend Jasper and Jasper was starting to get mad. So a couple days later Danny goes to Axl's house and the rest of the skulls crew was already there thinking about what they should do that day. They was all thinking then Danny started talking about what him and Jasper do when they hang out on the weekend. Then that's when they decided to just go to the comic book store to look at comics. So when they got there they was all looking at comic books. Then Danny went up to the counter to talk to the manager of the store Carrie about when is the new catmen and catwomen comic is going to release. Carrie said in a couple weeks then Carrie said "u wanna come in the back room with me I got some new comics in there I only let real good friends of mine come back her so your lucky" said Carrie. While Carrie and Danny went to the back room Axl and the rest of the group stole some comics. Then when Danny came back with Carrie they said that they should leave because it's getting boring and then they left. When Danny and the Skulls crew got outside they all pulled out a comic book from inside their shirts. Axl had got the comic book that was very delicate to Carrie and then that's when Danny got so scared I can't even explain it. OMG nooo we have put these back or we will be in big trouble!" said Danny. No if u say one word about this we will beat you up so bad" said Axl. So Danny didn't say nothing about it but the next day they went to school. While they was in lunch Axl had brought his book bag to lunch and he left his book bag at the table Danny was sitting at. So Danny was thinking about whether he should try to check and see if he had the comic book in his book bag and if he did to take it. So Danny got done thinking about it and decided to check so while Axl wasn't looking he started looking in his book bag. Danny was searching for it and then he found it and put it in his pocket. Axl came over there and was like what was u doing with my bookbag? and Danny said nothing just getting a pencil. Axl believed him and said ok then Danny started walking away and Axl was like u forgot yo pencil and Danny said keep it and left. After school Danny went straight to the comic book store the next day. When Danny got there it was the day the creator of the best comic book to ever be made was there to talk about how he thought about the idea and how he made it so it was alot of people there when Danny got there. Danny went inside the store and tried to open the case to put the comic book back. Then that's when Axl and the rest of the group found out that he stole the comic book and went there and saw Danny trying to put the comic book back inside of the case without no one knowing. Axl screamed out "he's stealing the comic book look and they all looked over there and saw Danny with the comic book. Danny was trying to explain his self but they wouldn't let him Carrie the manager of the store Danny's real good friend said she thought she can trust him and told him to leave and never come back. Then when Danny left he went to school the next day and when he got there everyone was talking bout him and going up to him like did u really try to steal that comic book? and Danny said no and they still didn't believe him they just walked away. So during school Danny and his bestfriend Jasper got a perfect idea of how to get him to admit that he stole it. So Danny conviced the most popular girls and the Skulls crew including Axl to go to the library for a meeting there. So when everyone got there Danny started talking about how he stole the comic book and all the girls was like Omg really how you steal the comic book so sneaky and stuff like that. Axl was over there getting very mad then thats when Axl just bursted out of no where and said "NOOOOO! he didn't steal the comic book I did" said Axl. Then thats when Danny went upstairs with his bestfriend Jasper and started to record Axl saying that he stole the comic book and not Danny. So that same day Danny put the record of Axl saying he stole the comic book on the school's P.A. So everyone came up to Danny and said so you didn't steal it and Danny said naw but when he was walking past the office he saw Axl and he was mad at Danny. So the next day Danny went back up to the comic book store and saw Carrie and told her I really didn't steal the comic book. Carrie says I know your principal just told me the big announcement and he said aw. "But that boy Axl is in the alley picking up everything and cleaning everything for the rest of the year" said Carrie. Danny went out there and saw Axl Axl said don't be scared i can't hit you none this year either but next year im going to beat you up so badly. The Author's purpose for writing this book is that if you do bad things bad things will always happen back to you.

My opinion of this book is that this is a very good book. I was surprised when they let go of Danny when they were about to punch him in the stomach because he said he can draw maker tattos. My favortie part of the book was when Danny and Jasper recorded Axl admitting that he stole the comic book and put it on the school P.A. I didn't agree with the part Danny proved that he didn't steal the comic book but he steal had to help clean the store with no pay.

The structure of this book was kinds weird but this is still one of my favorite books. I thought the ending of the book was funny because they made Axl clean the alley by the comci book store for the rest of the year and he couldn't hit Danny all year at all. But they also made Danny work for the store with no pay. This kinda reminds me of the time I did something really bad before and I had to do something for them for a long time and I didn't want to at all.

My overall thoughts of this book is that I thought this book was awesome! This was like one of the best books I heard like I really liked this book. It's very insteresting and everything like u would love to read this book I advice u to read this book it's very good. If i could rate this book from 1-10 I would rate this book a 10 because this book is so insteresting i can't even explain it. I would recommend thsi book to 5th graders to 7th graders.

A boy who was a not cool at all and one he got really in a bad situation with one of the coolest girl in school. She told him to give him his pen but he didn't so she put his name on the loser list. When he had his name on there all girls start calling him names and then the whole school knows about him, he tries to go to the girls bathroom and cross out his name of the loser list. I really like this book because once he tries to cross out his name he got caught and he went to detention he started to hang out with the cool kids and he told his secrets to them they all told all his secrets to the whole school.

Danny wanted to be a popular and cool boy in school, but one day he finds out that their is a list that has all the names of the kids that are losers, so the other day Danny finds out that he is one of those students and tries to scribble on his name, after he tried doing that they caught him and he went to detention , then he thinks that girls like bad boys and he tries to be one. I think that the theme of this story is: You can always overcome problems like these

One day I was told to find and read a book and one particular cover just was too unusual to pick up.The back just was fun to read, little did I know this was just the beginning of a waste of time. Also I ran out of time so I couldn’t pick another book. The book was called The Loser List. The book started off with just a normal kid. His name was Danny. After Danny refused to give up his incredibly expensive pen, people started calling him a geek. That lunch he accidentally spilled beans on Alix. The biggest bully in the school, and started a food fight. Alex was thought to have started it and had detention for days. Alix now hates Danny because his new jacket is now stained.
Later that day Danny figured out that in order for people not to think he is a dork he has to cross off the writing on the wall, but it is in the girls bathroom. He goes in and is caught for crossing his name off. Now Alix and Danny are in the same room. Alex Chases him and is about to punch him. But he says he’ll write a new marker tattoo on his arm that's better than the one he already had. They start to become friends. But then Alex steals a very rare comic book. So Danny steals it and tries to put it back in the safe. But is caught ”again” and was accused of stealing it. But in the end he makes Alex jealous that he had all the attention from stealing a book. So Danny tricked him into confessing.
What was unusual about the book:
He also had a very ugly friend who didn’t play a part he just was Breaking Danny’s heart. He never once asked help from his parents. He didn’t even mention them.
The book took place in only two places.
There was no exploration in this flop.
What was good:
NOTHING!!!!! He surrounded himself with bad people!!

I read this book when i was in 4th grade and i recently found it inside of my backpack and started to read it again. I would recommend this book for people who may or ay not be scared of going to a new school that's why i first read it it is a cheesy book and its simple so its easy to read. The book is about a kid who gets put on a loser list and tries to get rid of it, but the problem is the list is inside of the girls bathroom. When he goes he gets caught and put into detention. Then he befriends the bully and they start hanging out. The bully and all his goons (including the kid) go to a comic book store and steal a 500$ comic, but the kid thinks the bully went to far so he tries to take it back and the bully blames him for stealing it, in front of his idol. The kid has to prove hes innocent but also not get beat up by a bully. In the end he exposes the bully for everything that happened and the comic book was returned. I think the book rambled on for a while and shouldn't have taken all the detours, it was also a very childish way of thinking things would happen. But other than those things its a mediocre book.

This book was a really fun read. The reader can't help but be drawn to Danny who is just your regular kid who tries to do the right thing usually, but then he gets caught in a situation and ends up making some poor choices. When Danny finds out that he has been placed on the "Loser List" in the girls' bathroom, he takes matters into his own hands. However, a trip into the girls' bathroom does not end so well, and Danny finds himself in detention with a scary group of bullies. When the main bully of the school, Axl, realizes Danny can draw, he has him start drawing tattoos for him but then things escalate into graffiti. Danny finds himself in a new mess as he desires to fit in, but fitting in with this group will come with a cost. Danny's best friend Jasper starts to stay away as he sees Danny is not making the best of decisions since he has been associating with Axl, the school bully. Danny also is in danger of losing the trust of a comic store owner and in turn a comic who he admires. Read the book to find out just how everything unfolds; you will not be disappointed.

the loser list was about a kid named Danny who is this small little geek and he gets put on the loser list that is in the bathroom. One day he started food fight and was trying to help his crush but puts hot salsa in one of the skull's eyes and he is scared. he that same day after school he tries to sneak into the girls bathroom to get his name off the list but gets caught and has detention and soon after he joins the skulls and goes to a comic book store while he is talking to logan the skulls steel comic books and Danny try to put them back but gets caught and I will stop here so you can read it your self.


I like this book because it is funny and has life lessons and is very interesting. I would recommend this book to someone who likes funny but long books. it is also good because he tells everybody that he is not a geek and he does not care what they think of his friend jasper. There are also good life lessons on why you should not steel.

this book was very interesting. I liked because it was funny and reminded me of other middle school books and movies. what was interesting about his book was that how we went into the girls bathroom and got caught and how he became friends with some bad kids. And how they stole a very rare comic book and how he lost his best friend and how he was trying to impress this girl at school. This book made me think if think if my middle school was like there in the book. I also liked this book because i could compare to some of the actions that the character in the book does or feels. To sum it all up this is a really great book and you should read it if you want to get a good laugh or just to be entertained for awhile. This book is a five stars hands down.

The book "The Loser List" by H.N. Kowitt, is a book about a kid named Danny who is in 7th grade and how his life is filled with hardships and how it is hard to not get picked on just for being a nerd. Danny and his friend Jasper have to live with Axl and Chandel who are bullies and who are obstacles in Danny and Jasper's way, read to find out how they are taken care of and how Danny can try to survive what is called middle school. This book overall is a pretty good fictional story and that this book is basic representation on how nerds get bullied over what they like (sadly). 10/10

The loser list a kid with not so good of a life as you by H.N Kowitt. The loser list was a very funny book because of one of the pages when he was covered in all mud with very few clothes on to cover himself.I personally did not like this book it was very long and for a long period of time their was nothing going on. I would recommend this book to Luke because when he funny part came up he would start laughing so hard.

I didn't hate this... but I didn't really like it at all either. This is a book my brother gave me for Christmas or something a few years ago and that I thought might be an interesting between read, and it was. It's a good story about doing the right thing and knowing who your friends are, but it also advocates manipulating people and gossip. So, it's okay, but if you really look into it more in depth the lessons kind of fall apart...

I gave this good 4 stars because the book is really funny and good but not 5 because it's really missing some stuff in my opinion. I recommend it to people that like funny books but really not to people that really pay attention to the the like rising action and stuff like that. The book could get better by putting in a like rising action and a climax ans also a falling action because thats what it's really missing.

This is a humorous children's book about a nerd who gets into detention for entering the girls' restroom. He soon becomes a hit with the bad guys in the detention room, but when one of them smuggles a rare comic from the local store, it's up to Danny Shine to resolve the conflict. Can he do it or not? There are 3 other books in this series that I'd recommend.

he gets a new pen and a bullie wants it. he doesnt give it to her. she says shell put him on the loser list. he soon find him self appesing bullies by giving them tatoos. they help him get his and his friends name of the loser list.

In my opinion, I like The Losers List it has different themes/lessons for example trust was broken. Axl broke Danny and Logan's trust with each other in the end she banned him from the store. I didn't finish but this is what I know so far. It's a really good book and I love reading it.

DNF ik vond dit kinderboek in een minibiebje en was wel benieuwd. Na nog geen handvol bladzijden geconcludeerd dat dit weer terug een andere minibieb ingaat een paar weken na dato. Niet mijn ding. Hopelijk vindt een kind dit in het biebje en heeft er wel aardigheid aan.

The book was OK, but i don't know if i really like it that much it could have had a little bit more story telling in it,but it wasn't all bad the pictures were nice to help understand the book.
