Kniha je pořádný cvalík, ale garantuju, že se s ním rozhodně nudit nebudete. Napětí vás vtáhne od prvních stran a nepustí – tahle kniha je jako jízda na horské dráze ve tmě. Starší datum vydání vůbec nevadí, protože téma je nadčasové a temně aktuální.

Psychologický thriller s manipulativním vrahem, který si s lidmi hraje jako s figurkami na šachovnici, vás donutí zpochybnit vlastní vzpomínky i lidi kolem vás. Vrstvený příběh, dobře vystavěná atmosféra a to nepříjemné šimrání po zádech – přesně ten typ čtení, po kterém zhasínáte světla trochu opatrněji.

Jak to ze začátku vypadalo slibně, jsem zklamán. Úvod by mohl i King závidět. Tísnivá atmosféra, slibně se rozvíjející zápletka plná fóbií a zajímavých postav, v půlce knihy ale přecházíme k těžce béčkovému akčnímu hororu a končíme někde, kde ani slunce nesvítí. Nic nedává smysl, Koontz plácá páté přes deváté a zoufale se snaží celou mozaiku spojit dohromady.
