Ivy Pocket - najljupkija prava engleska služavka koju možete sresti - došla je do svoje treće knjige i nastavka svoje uzbudljive pustolovine koja se prostire na dva svijeta, uključuje mnoga hrabra djela, mnogo akcije, bijega od neprijatelja i spašavanja prijatelja; a uključuje i konačan susret Ivy sa vlastitom sudbinom.

Čitanje ove knjige bilo je istovremeno uzbudljivo, ali i tužno iskustvo. Uzbudljivo, jer konačno doznajem kako teče nastavak Ivyne pustolovine, a tužno - jer ovom knjigom ta pustolovina završava (unatoč mojim nadanjima o još mnogo nastavaka romana o Ivy :().

U posljednoj etapi svoje pustolovine, Ivy odlučno nastavlja svoju misiju da spasi prijateljicu Rebeccu, ali i sirotu Anastasiju Radcliff, zatočenu u ludnici iz koje je Ivy u prošlom romanu pobjegla. Ostvariti ovu misiju Ivy neće biti nimalo lako, budući da su joj zla gospođica Always i njeni bravaši stalno na tragu, ali uz pomoć nekolicine prijatelja i nekih neočekivanih saveznika - koji uspiju uskočiti baš u pravom trenutku - uspjeh je moguć. Bit će tu potrebno, naravno, i mnogo vještog prikrivanja i nešto detektivskog posla, što Ivy neće predstavljati problem, budući da ju krase sjajni urođeni instinkti tajne agentice i mladog Sherlocka Holmesa, baš kao i oni izgubljene čarape i pogubnog smrada. Ivynim talentima i hrabrosti nema kraja, a tamo kamo se zaputila sve će joj to zatrebati - još kako!

Posljednja knjiga u trilogiji o Ivy Pocket najpustolovnija je do sada. U njoj se izmjenjuju sulude jurnjave, borbe prsa o prsa, potrage za izgubljenim prijateljicama, neočekivana otkrića, sudbinski susreti, bijeg iz zatvora (u kojem do izražaja dolaze nenadmašni Ivyni urođeni instinkti iskusne bjegunice), te još mnogo toga, ispisanog prepoznatljivim Krispovim stilom koji obiluje raznim vrstama humora, omogućujući time da u ovoj knjizi uživaju i mlađi i stariji čitatelji, svaki na svoj način.

Ova knjiga zaokružuje i završava Ivynu priču, a sama Ivy u njoj će napraviti puni krug i vratiti se na mjesto na kojem je i započela njena pustolovina, kako bi ju jednom zauvijek privela svome kraju - na najoriginalniji, posve Ivy-evski način.

"Bilo je mnogo uspona i padova - život na rubu, moglo bi se reći. (...) Većina običnih djevojaka vjerojatno bi se sklupčala poput mačića i danima jecala. Ali ja ne. Da, bilo je opasnosti na svakome koraku i mnogo me ljudi pokušavalo srediti. Ali nisam se niti lecnula. Mlatila sam ljude lijevo i desno. (...) Dakle, vidiš, draga, bila je to čudesna pustolovina."

Doista, čitanje triju romana o Ivy Pocket i druženje s njom bilo je čudesno. I premda je tužno, sve što je lijepo jednom mora doći svojem kraju, zar ne? A iako neće biti više romana o Ivy, ništa nas ne sprečava da ovu trilogiju ponekad ponovno uzmemo u ruke i obnovimo druženje s najšarmantnijom, najzabavnijom i najšašavijom mladom damom koju u knjigama možemo naći.

Ne budimo tužni što je pustolovina završila, budimo sretni što je trajala - i što smo u njoj sudjelovali! Autorovim riječima, kojima se obraća čitatelju:

"Završetak je bio genijalan i žao ti je što je priča završila, oko toga se možemo složiti - ali postoje i druge knjige, i drugi likovi. Ne, neće biti isto, ali što se ikada ponavlja? (...) ...nastavit ću pisati knjige o zanimljivoj djeci - ali ne vjerujem da će ijedno biti ovako nepodnošljivo, nepopravljivo i bezobrazno kao Ivy Pocket. Niti će bti ovako veličanstveno pisati o njima."

Doista, teško da ćemo ikada više naići na lik poput Ivy. Ali, svakako će biti zanimljivo otkriti kakve sve zanimljive priče o drugim zanimljivim likovima Caleb Krisp skriva u svome peru.

You might remember that I absolutely loved the first and second Ivy Pocket books because they were such hilarious fun! Ivy's adventures are always zany, dangerous, and her quick wit is balanced out by her somewhat clueless nature and random insults.

Yes, our Ivy is a girl of many talents and I was excited to read her final book.

Ivy Pocket is once again on her own, and she has a mission. She's going to free the imprisoned Anastasia from the madhouse, and will then reunite her with her lost child. Plus, she's going to slip into another world to rescue her lost friend Rebecca. But while on her way to London, the devious Miss Always and her nefarious Locks track her down.

Before she knows it, Ivy is on the run. But that won't stop her from pursuing her mission. Nothing is going to stop her, and that includes being homeless and penniless. She has a perfectly good pair of snooping ears, connections and some serious plans. Not even feeling sick and wearing an unresponsive Clock Diamond can dampen her spirits.

So when a little good fortune comes her way, first she offers a home to two kind women in need, and then sets out to Butterfield Park. Back where some of the trouble began and will surely come to an end...

Well. That was quite the adventure! Poor Ivy sure goes through a LOT in this book, but in usual fashion, she's able to take it all in stride. 

Ivy Pocket is a survivor, and if she can't outwit her enemies, she'll accidentally set the wheels of hilarity in motion. Or even frustrate them so much they become virtually useless. LOL.

One of my favourite things about the conclusion to this super fun trilogy is how all the events, people and places she met along the way provided such relevant breadcrumbs to the conclusion of her tale. It's all quite clever.

Bring Me the Head of Ivy Pocket is another quirky and really fun book that kept me hooked until the very satisfying conclusion. As expected, Ivy's witty fibs and miraculous remedies take centre stage, but this time with surprising results. Her blatant disregard for etiquette always cracks me up. I loved how this story turned out, and enjoyed the pace at which the mysteries were slowly revealed, yet kept coming until The End.

I also got a kick out of catching up with so many familiar characters. And once again thought that the female representation was vast and varied. It's also effortless, which is even more wonderful.

Oh, and the illustrations were very nice too.

Well, that's it. While I'm sad that the trilogy is over, I'm very happy to have shared this adventure with Ivy.

This wonderful conclusion to the Ivy Pocket trilogy is filled with the same amount of with, humor, and adventures as the previous installments. This time, however, we are also given answers. Some I found to be predictable while other things surprised me. Either way, this was a fun romp of a read!

4.5 It was somewhat sad to say goodbye to Ivy, but seeing her evolve and discover so many things, it really made me proud. The ending felt a little bit like there was something missing, but other than that, it was a great finale of the series.

I’m so sad I don’t have anymore adventures to go on w/Ivy! I will definitely be rereading these several times in the future to visit her again. I absolutely loved this book just as much as the 1st 2. This was such a great ending to this story. Everything came together perfectly, & all questions were answered-& done so well! Ivy is such a survivor. She uses her humor & imagination to hide a lot. This was another grand adventure, w/the same glorious side characters plus a few new ones. I love how all the people she meets along the way are all connected in some way to the big picture. This was just a genius piece of story writing-all 3 together. I really hope this author writes more MG books. I need more of this writing. I’m not going to say much more since this is the 3rd & final, so not to spoil. These were such a kick. I truly now have a special place for Ivy in my heart, & can’t wait to visit her again in the future. Of course, another gorgeous cover, & again filled w/the most amazing illustrations ever!!😍😍 Also, Ivy may not be for everyone. I can see how she may annoy some people or even offend. But that’s not her intent, & I love her & I HIGHLY recommend this whole trilogy. 💜💜

I can't believe this was the last one (although of course it was a very satisfying, hilarious romp). Simply put, I would read infinite Ivy Pocket books. Chapter 16 was a personal favorite - it transformed me from that weird girl who was reading while walking down the sidewalk into that weird girl who was laughing aloud to herself while also reading and walking down the sidewalk.

I'm absolutely looking forward to whatever Caleb Krisp comes up with next.

Ja saidki Ivy Pocketi seiklused läbi. Neelasin kõik kolm raamatut paari päevaga ning tahaks veel ja veel! Ma olen päris kindel, et kui oleks Ivy Pocketit lugenud nooremana (no nii 15-20a tagasi), siis oleks ta kindlasti olnud üks selline raamatutegelane, kellesarnane ma tahaksin suurena olla. Julge, nutikas, enesekindel ja parajalt ninatark. Samas haaras Ivy Pocket ka nüüd endaga kaasa ja kogu see teine maailm ning üldse kogu kompott kokku.

Beskrajno sam uživala u ovim knjigama i ne mogu da prežalim što je gotovo.

I think I'll always treasure this series in my heart. The kids and I read it over our months of pandemic and we grew to love the characters as we escaped reality for a bit as we read each night before bed. I'm sad it's over but we were very satisfied with the ending and how the loose ends were tied together and how strong and confident Ivy became just the slightest bit vulnerable at the end.

This series is long and deep so if you start it you'll want to commit to finishing it (but you'll want to), so I would recommend it for a family read-aloud or a long car trip for ages 6 and up, versus something like classroom read. Note that the books are humorous throughout but much of the humor stems from various witty insults, so if you're not comfortable with your kids calling each other things like "Walnut Head" for the rest of their lives you might want to do some pre-reading to see if this is right for you. This would also be an excellent series for an independent reader ages 9 to 15, or an older teen or adult looking for a fun and clever series to escape with.

I do hope that Caleb Krisp has something else up his sleeve after this. We would love to read more of his work.

This is the third book in the Ivy Pocket trilogy. The author ties up all the loose ends. I always read the acknowledgments at the back of books. I found this one most interesting! "I shall continue to write books about interesting children - but I suspect none will be as infuriating, incorrigible, or as offensive as Ivy Pocket. Nor will they be such glorious to write. It's been a hoot. Now shuffle off, I'm tired."

Θετικά: παιδικό παραμύθι με χιούμορ και πολλές περίπλοκες καταστάσεις.
Αρνητικά: Πάρα πολλοί χαρακτήρες, πάρα πολλές καταστάσεις, πολλά ανεξήγητα ή ακατανόητα μαγικά ή καταστάσεις όπου ξεπετάγονται στο ξεκάρφωτο και που προσπαθούν να βγάλουν γέλιο αλλά το πετυχαίνουν μία στο τόσο.

Βασικά, προσπάθησαν να κάνουν την άιβυ πόκετ ένα ενδιάμεσο παιδιού-ενήλικου πειρακτήρι, όπου μπορεί να ταξιδεύει από εδώ και εκεί, να μπλέκει σε πλοκές που κανονικά θα τις έκαναν μόνο μεγάλοι άνθρωποι. Αυτές οι μεγαλο-παιδικότητες γενικά δεν είναι του στυλ μου: πχ. πήγε και ενοίκιασε μία άμαξα, πήγε σε πάρτυ και μιλούσε με άρχοντες κλπ. Μία έφηβη χωρίς τα προβλήματα/καταστάσεις μίας έφηβης. Το βρήκα αποστειρωμένο. Γέλασα, απόλαυσα μερικές στιγμές. Οι περιγραφές είναι καλές αλλά δεν υπάρχει ο βαθύτερος συνδετικός κρίκος που να τα δένει όλα αυτά σε μία όμορφη ιστορία.

Αν τα δεις σαν σκετς το κάθε κεφάλαιο ξεχωριστά, σαν μίνι καρτούν, ίσως είναι καλύτερα. Αν θες μία συνδενδεμένη ιστορία δεν κάνει. Θα ήταν ωραίο κινούμενο σχέδιο, λόγω των όμορφων σκίτσων, αν ξαναδουλευόταν η ιστορία να έχει περισσότερη βαθύτερη σύνδεση.

I felt bored.
Positives: a children's fairy tale with humor and many complicated situations.
Negatives: Too many characters, too many situations, too many inexplicable or incomprehensible magic or situations where they jump out of nowhere and try to make you laugh but only succeed once in a while.

Basically, they tried to make Ivy Pocket an intermediate child-adult prankster, where she can travel from here and there, get involved in plots that only grown-ups would normally do. These big-childish things are generally not my style: e.g. she went and rented a carriage, went to a party and talked to lords, etc. A teenager without the problems/situations of a teenager. I found it sterilized. I laughed, I enjoyed a few moments. The descriptions are good but there is no deeper connection that ties all of this story together into a beautiful depth-connected story.

If you see each chapter as separate sketches, like a mini cartoon, maybe it would be better. If you want a deep-connected story, it doesn't work. It would be nice as animation, because of the beautiful sketches, if the story were reworked to have a deeper connection.

Caleb Krisp továbbra is szenzációsan csavarja a történetet és leleményesnél leleményesebb megoldásokat ad, nem csak a cselekményre, de nyelvileg is amit persze ismét csak kiválóan lehet érteni és értékelni, Pék Zoltán fordítása miatt. Megjelennek régi szereplők és váratlan segítségeket nyújtanak újak, a végén pedig minden szépen elrendeződik, pont úgy, ahogy hősünk megérdemli. S továbbra is csak emelem kalapom, hogy mennyire sokféle izgalmas és érdekes nőalakkal találkozhattunk a történet folyamán, erőlködés nélkül illett minden szereplő a történetfolyamba.

A Hozzátok el nekem Ivy Pocket fejét! igazán méltó lezárása a trilógiának: izgalmas, kalandos, tele fondorlattal és humorral, s mégis továbbra is tud szívhez szóló lenni. Remélem Caleb Krisp továbbra is fog fura hősökről gyerekkönyveket írni, akik legalább olyan emlékezetesek lesznek, mint Ivy Pocket.

Ivy Pocket is not the typical female protagonist one would expect from a children's book. She lies a lot, exaggerates a lot and gets tricked far too easily for one "who has all the natural instincts of a detective". But anyone who decides to read this book after reading the previous ones in spite of the feeling of wanting to bash her on the head will know that Ivy Pocket is a one of kind.

This book is the last in the Ivy Pocket trilogy. Her connection to the other world of Prospa and whether she really is the Dual or not is finally explained, but to Ivy that matters very little against the trying matter of bringing her beloved friend Rebekah home and finding who her mother is. Characters are exasperating (Ivy being foremost), there's death which doesn't really go into detail but tragic all the same, and not everything works out exactly as planned - but it ends beautifully and I found myself getting misty-eyed at the end.

Ivy Pocket must rescue her friend Rebecca from Prospa house. Prospa house is in another world. Most die trying to go into it. Ivy Pocket has her Clock Diamond to help her through. Even though she has the added help, Prospa house is not an easy place to get into. Even harder to leave.

Through out this whole journey she is still being chased by Miss Always. Not to mention the man in the white suit and Justice Hallow. Every corner threatens danger.

This book was a fine ending to the Ivy Pocket trilogy. Well written series. I will miss this opinionated, obnoxious and narcissistic little 12 year old. She stole my heart along her treacherous journey.

Ivy has the mind of Inspector Clousea (Pink Panther), has the instincts of Lloyd Christmas (Dumb and Dumber) and the morbidity of Louise Belcher (Bob's Burgers).

I really enjoyed the series about Ivy Pocket! At the same time I am glad Caleb Krisp finalized it and didn't make a neverending story out of it, as some authors nowadays do. It is very important to know when to stop and I believe this book was a good example of doing that. I still enjoyed Ivy's sharp tongue and her crazy and fearless behavior, and in the end of the book my heart shrank for a moment and I had tears in my eyes. I will definitely remember Ivy only with positive emotions and will be checking on Caleb Krisp's work. Maybe he will manage to create more original characters and stories to follow in the future.

Ma ütleks, et see on triloogia kõige parem raamat. Esimene on selle lähedal, sest see oli nii uus ja eriline, aga teine oli nagu eelmäng viimasele ja vähem huvitav.

Mulle väga meeldib Ivy iseloom ja see teeb raamatu lugemise nii kiireks ja põnevaks. Lisaks mulle väga meeldis, kuidas raamatus ei olnud kindlat halba (vä Hallow), kõigil olid omad põhjused ja see tegi raamatu nii põnevaks, sest sa ei teadnud kunagi, kas see tegelane on nüüd Ivy poolt või vastu (eriti Frost ja Always).

Illustratsioonid olid kaunid nagu alati ja mul ei olnud üldse meeles, et lõpp nii positiivne oli, aga selle kallal ei saagi kurta.

Tahle kniha se mi líbila. Líbila se mi celá série a myslím, že nejlepší díly byly poslední dva. Překvapil mě konec, protože jsem chtěla ať je Ivy pořád taková, jaká byla. Ale i tak taková doufám zůstane (i bez hodinového diamantu :D ). Akorát má už domov a mámu a jsem ráda, že je šťastná. Moje oblíbená postava je slečna Frostová. Nevím proč, ale je mi strašně sympatická. A samozřejmě Ivy, o které to celé je a vypráví to.

Absolutely love this series. My 11 year old loves it as well. She’s still on book 1, due to her busy schedule. However, I have managed to finish the series sooner as I couldn’t put the books down 🫣. I don't know about other readers, but I loved this style of writing. It was funny and mysterious - both favourite genres!!!! Highly recommended for “quirky” humour like me 😂.

Well done, Caleb! Now, would you please write book 4??? I need to know if it was Miss Frost 😁🙏🏽

My heart is broken! No more of the inimitable Ivy Pocket!
This is the last in the trilogy, and while Mr. Krisp vows to write more books about interesting children, none will surely match the self-opinionated chutzpah of Ivy herself. One warning to readers: you need to read them in order; reading this without the others will leave you somewhat befuddled.

A perfect mix of action, sass, mystery, fantasy, and love! What a great ending for this trilogy! I wouldn't change a thing. All the familiar favorites make an appearance, and none of them feels shoehorned in or out of place. Lots of loose ends are nicely tied up, and Ivy matures nicely without losing her spunk. Loved it!

Ivy Pocket was the levity I needed during the time of year that I read this series. This book and this series is goofy and light hearted and will put you in a good mood. I love the gothic victorian feel of the illustrations. Sweet story with very lovable characters. I was so sad to finish this series!
