My husband got this cookbook from my parents for Christmas, and it has been a great resource as we try to revamp our lifestyle. It has helped to cut out the junk and add in more whole foods without having to search for strange ingredients at out-of-the-way grocery stores. Even the few ingreients that have not always been in our pantry or fridge are used in quite a few recipes, so we don't find ourselves buying something for $6 that we never use except in one recipe. Even our kids (including a very picky almost-5 year old) have enjoyed most of the recipes we've made.

What I've been able to do with this cookbook is to pick and choose from breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack recipe sections, of course adding in some of our other healthy favorites not in here. It's a great way to make simple lifestyle changes without being overwhelmed, because everything is so common sense. I like that Devin Alexander, the chef/author, states early on that she used to be overweight, and you can tell by the way she phrases her advice. There are little hints and ideas throughout to make meal or ingredient substitutions for favorites that are somehow still satisfying despite being lower cal than you would find, for example, at your favorite Mexican restaurant.

If using this as a loose guide to healthier eating is so easy for us now, as we are making changes, hopefully our kids won't ever have to make changes, as they will already make those healthy choices out of habit.

I love the Biggest Loser brand. In this book, TV show trainers Bob and Jillian and contestants from all previous seasons share their favorite recipes, healthful eating tips and diet advice.

This is not a new formula. However, what I like about this diet guide as opposed to others I've read is the recipes in the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook are tailored for families, meaning they are affordable, palatable and familiar. It's refreshing to find a book full of recipes that don't call for numerous, super-pricey organic ingredients. But its a godsend to find a book of healthy, calorie-conscious meals my kids and non-dieting husband won't groan about.

I also thought tips like the staple favorites of the contestants were a great addition to the recipes. I'm not always looking for a "recipe" -- just a quick meal solution. Like, tuna salad on celery sticks. I wouldn't have thought of that. But it's an easy substitution that emerged from other dieters' practical experience.

I checked this guide out from the library, but I've already added it to my bookstore wish list. It's just too good not to add to my cookbook collection.

This is a wonderful cookbook for family. It helps your family eat healthy without knowing it.

When I started to make things from this cookbook believe it or not my children loved it. I had them eating spinach, bell peppers, lean turkey and chicken.

It is a cookbook that we will use for along time.

Don't overlook this as just being a diet cookbook. While it would be helpful to those trying to lose weight, it is also great for people who are just looking to eat healthy. I thought that many of the recipes in this cookbook looked good and like something I would actually try to make at home. There are pictures in this cookbook, but not for every recipe.

My family is excited to try the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Grilled Parmesian Chicken, and the Manadrin Orange Chicken. It is marinating now. The purple cow and banana with caramel also look like a good idea. I like the simple ingredients.

Not one recipe looked good enough to try. Most weren't for families and would have had to been doubled or tripled to feed more than one person. They also used many subsitutes that are no longer real food.

Probably great, but lots of meat dishes that simply didn't appeal to me. Also, I'm a stickler for cook-books with pictures. I need to see what you're trying to get me to cook, and this book was severely lacking.

uninteresting and unoriginal. Don't bother reading this book - you will learn nothing new from it.

Out of all of the biggest loser cook books this one is OK. There are not very many recipes in it that I use. But the ones I have tried are really good.

Most of the book was informative with great recipes. However we don't use sugar substitutes and several called for it.
