In this third book in the Sir Ladybug series, Sir Ladybug is determined to get his library book back to the library before it is overdue. "Upon my knightly honor I swear to you, I will return this library book!" First Sir Ladybug and his friends have to find the library because the location changes. Then time becomes an issue because Sir Ladybug stops to help anyone who calls for help. Unfortunately, it turns out that three bookworms have been causing all the distractions because they want to eat Sir Ladybug's book. Fortunately, all the grateful bugs band together to save Sir Ladybug and the book. The best part of this story is when the library is located. The library is inside a turtle's shell! Readers will adore the two page spread of the inside of the library. Also the library has an audiobook section for the bookworms. Sweet! A wonderful addition to a fantastic series!

So cute! I love that it was all about returning a library book before it was overdue.

Also best lines of the book: "One morning Gregor woke up to discover that he was a dung beetle. Which was good because that was exactly how he went to bed. But Gregor had a friend who once went to bed as a caterpillar and woke up as a butterfly, so you never did know"

Are the Sir Ladybug books the best books in the world? Possibly. In this volume, Sir Ladybug must uphold his honor and return his library book before it's (dun dun DUN) OVERDUE!

These books are just so cute and funny. I love them.

Sir Ladybug and the Bookworms is the third book in this charming series. It begins with Sir Ladybug being informed that he has a book due at the library that day. As a result, Sir Ladybug sets off on an adventure to return the library book. Along the way, he helps many bugs out of interesting predicaments, and in return when he needs help against the bookworms they pitch in.

What I Liked: The graphic novel format made this book easy to read and follow the storyline. The illustrations are adorable and keep the reader engaged. There was an illustration at the end of the book that showed a library and the different sections which I thought was a great introduction to what a library offers. There are humorous jokes and puns scattered throughout the book that made it enjoyable to read even as an adult.

Final Verdict: Sir Ladybug and the Bookworms is a wonderful graphic novel that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

When Sir Ladybug receives a message that his library book is almost overdue, he proclaims he will return it. While on his way to the library (somewhere near the pond), he and his friends stop to help others in trouble - until they are stopped by the nefarious bookworms.

The third book in the Sir Ladybug series, this one just misses the mark, as it looks and feels “wordier” than the others in the series. However, it maintains the tongue-in-cheek humor and puns, and also the light and airy artwork. I love, love, love that the turtle pulls into their shell (with a great cutaway image of the library inside the shell) to let the three friends in to return the book and check another out.

Librarians will love this message - but so will the kiddos!

Sir Ladybug and the Bookworms is a delightful and heartwarming tale that celebrates empathy, a love for books, and the magical world of libraries. With its clever use of animal characters, the story captures children’s imagination and keeps them joyfully engaged from start to finish.

Corey R. Tabor masterfully uses humor, kindness, and a touch of adventure to convey meaningful lessons, while the charming illustrations add depth and playfulness. The bookworms themselves are a brilliant metaphor for young readers—curious, enthusiastic, and hungry for stories.

This is a wonderful read-aloud choice and a gentle reminder of how powerful books and shared reading experiences can be. A must-have for little readers and a lovely homage to the richness of library life.

5 stars (it was amazing!)

I just absolutely loved this one! I loved the humor and the play on words. There is an excerpt from the book the bugs need to return and it's a parody of The Metamorphisis, which I just find hilarious.

I love that

The book is also a real cheerleader for books and libraries. It also has a great message about helping others. Just so so great!

I want to know how they helped half a bug though!

This series is just so clever and fun. In this installment, Sir Ladybug receives a notice from the library informing him that his library book, Keep on Rolling: the Astonishing Biography of a Dung Beetle needs to be returned. It is his knightly duty to return the book safely but along the way, he continues to be stopped by other bugs needing help. Along with his trust sidekicks, Sterling and Pell, Sir Ladybug not only need to save the day for others but also get the library book back to the library before it closes.

Sir Ladybug and friends are on a quest to return a library book in danger of being overdue! A group of bookworms set up obstacles to prevent them from being successful.

Fun fact: the turtles shell is designed as the different sections of the library which is a great tool to teach littles about the library. And then there is an audio books section which they invite the bookworms to visit since they can't damage them which was hilarious.

A late library book? The horror! Sir Ladybug has his greatest quest (or greatest series of quests along the way) to make sure that he returns his library book in time! I do love reading a great book and have joked about devouring books, but these bookworms give a whole new meaning to being a bookworm. The librarian portrayal here is awesome, thankfully. Highly recommend this whole series; I hope for new adventures with Sir Ladybug soon.

Wonderful! Spectacular! Delightful!

This has Adventure Time and Bug Boys vibes and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Do you like charming books? Read this! I know it says it's for kids but it is one of those books that transcends age. If you have ever enjoyed an animated movie you should read these books.

This book is a sequel to sir ladybug. As its former book the art style is very impressive and it is a graphic novel style book. In this book sir ladybug deals with the bookworms who eat books. Eventually they scare off the bookworms and are able to enjoy the library in peace. I would give this book 4/5 stars.

I'm not writing an in depth review for this one because I grabbed this series based on concept alone. If you have a kid that likes to read graphic novels and is struggling to read, give them these books. They're short, cute and you can finally have a break from Dog Man.

Sir Ladybug borrowed a library book which will be overdue if he doesn't return it by sunset. However, it's not a straight path to the library as there are many bugs that need their help, including a trio of book worms who are out for the library book for their lunch.
