Letty is probably the weakest dragon in the world, but somehow he's managed to blunder his way into a fearsome reputation. When he and his elven friend Dearia rescue a human girl named Nell, they think they're doing her a favor. Just like Letty, she's searching for a new home. Trouble is, the rest of the human world sees it differently -- they think Princess Nell has been kidnapped by the terrible and mighty Flame Dragon King!
Une lecture toujours bien barrée qui m'a fait rire. Les dialogues sont improbables. Le scénario n'a rien de fou mais j'aime l'ambiance, les interactions entre les personnages et l'univers. Je poursuivrai ma lecture.
Letty is continuing his quest to find a place for himself that will allow him not only to live peacefully but to raise his adopted child Pip (a hræsvelgr chick.) We start the volume with a familiar looking hunter and his cait sith assistant on the hunt after discovering Letty previously. The hunter named Huey and Albert the cait sith show us a sample of their own adventure while Letty and Dearia worked on a hunt for the perfect place. On the way they discover Letty (now the Flame Dragon King through no fault of his own) has gained a bit of a reputation but their contribution to the story is not very long as Letty discovers some bandits on his way to the next destination.
The main character to look forward to is the young princess Andriana Ellen Croixdea Margarethe Emmalyn Narsham Felna aka Nell who like many of the characters in this series has an interesting personality that forces Letty to grow regardless of his weak stats and lack of will to fight. In between the time she is discovered to the end of the volume Letty suffers one of the scariest villains ever as the taxman cometh for him forcing Letty to learn some new responsibilities about being out on his own. All in all this was a fun volume with over the top reactions that I have come to enjoy in this series. :)
This one starts confusingly with Letty living in a house and getting attacked there. I still had volume 2 from the library, and it ended with the closure of the arena and Letty still looking for a house.
Letty is soon looking for a house again, and he and Dearia rescue a petty princess who was kidnapped after running away from home because her father ate her cupcake without permission. I realize that sounds like a dirty metaphor, but it's quite literal, and the king turns out to be a decent guy who refuses to assume that a dragon is evil based on rumors.
The characters in this serious are kind of annoying, but also relatable.
How hard can it be for a dragon to find a house to call his own? The fun ramps up another notch as Letty still hasn't figured out his perfect home, and now he's got Pi to take care of and a new complication, a Princess. Luckily, Dearia is there to help (and I'm sure he's collecting his commission along the way).
With beautiful artwork throughout, this series is fun to read. Whimsical and sweet at the same time.
This one is still pretty good but it starting to feel like it is meandering a little bit. I do like the rapport between Letty and Nell, and some of what Nell says are some of the best insults I have every seen in a manga. I look forward to the next installment for more slice of life, light hearted fantasy!
SO CUTE. I even liked Nell. The part where Dearia announced to no one that Letty was now a father of two made me laugh out loud. And ofc Letty is still adorable, and Dearia is amazing. The fact that he doesn’t even try to hide he’s the Demon Lord is just. So good.
Funny volume at the expense of Letty's self esteem we also get a new character named Nell who at first starts off as a brat but she does kind of actually be a little charming mostly at Letty's expense. Also love how realistic they make the tax chapter seem as even today I barely understand taxes.
I was really torn between 3 and 4 stars on this one. I wasn't a huge fan of Nell - she had some good moments but overall was fairly one-note and reminded me of Angelica from Rugrats.
In this volume, our band defends a castle from a siege...but first, they have to file taxes! Will Letty ever get it together? It's not looking likely...
