Scott Andrew Hutchins is the Indianapolis-born, New York based author of the plays, Misused Minds: Curse of the Educated Youth, What Killed Bartók, and Away from the Prosaic Gas-Light: A Theatrical Celebration of the Works of L. Frank Baum. His screenplays include an expansion of What Killed Bartók, Other People, The Hollow People, The Sketch, and an adaptation of William Shakespeare's The Life of Timon of Athens, as well as two unauthorized adaptations of copyrighted material, one a screenplay, and the other, an opera, including the music. He completed his first novel, Tip of Oz, in 1996. It is cited in the amicus brief of Eldred v. Ashcroft as unpublishable as a direct result of the Sony Bono Copyright Term Extension Act.
