I am sure that many kids will love this giant crossover story. However, as an adult reader, I have some problems with this book. Although this book is published in the Middle School series, the main character is actually child book publisher Jimmy. He terms up with all the characters from all of the Patterson children's series to present a giant extravaganza to celebrate Reading. There is a problem with the festival permit and Jimmy and Rafe race to have a new permit before the festival is closed down early. Meanwhile all those other characters take turns on stage telling stories. This book is actually an anthology of stories under the festival plot umbrella. It basically read like one long commercial for various "Jimmy" series. There was also the problem of including Maximum Ride and Fang. All the other characters are from funny children's series which may stretch the definition of realistic, but basically take place in the here and now. But Maximum Ride stories are Young Adult books that take place in a futuristic dysentopian world, and really should not cross over.

My son recommended this book. I know he's going to read this review, so I'll explain my single-star rating. This book is a compilation of stories told by characters from the entire series. I haven't read any other book in the series, so I had no character bonds. While I'm sure it's fun to see and hear stories from characters you know better, these little snippets did nothing for me.

Also, there was a lot of slap-stick humor. There are plenty of funny, laugh-out-loud kids' books. This humor felt forced and (sorry!) annoying.

Finally, I really didn't like how the ending glorified fame and viral status. Those are not values I wish for myself or my child. Big thumbs down for me on this one.

Not gonna lie, I didn't like this book. The first thing that I didn't enjoy was how Jimmy was actually the main character. The whole reason I was able to enjoy Middle School so much was because of Rafe and his character. I don't mind a crossover, but I really hate that the crossover is actually part of the Middle School series. Jimmy literally had a bigger role than Rafe. So if Jimmy was the main character, then put him in HIS series. I feel like they were just using Middle School since it was their biggest series. Like, they already advertise Jimmy in their books enough. It's literally in every single cover and in the front page of each book! It's even in James Patterson's About the Author. Like I get it, they want to get me to read the Jimmy books. But honestly, this book just made me hate Jimmy. I bought this book to look forward to what new exciting adventure Rafe has for us, but NO! All we get is this short scene of Rafe and the rest are all random stuff. Now I feel ripped off that I actually spent all that money on this book that I'll probably never read again. Hopefully the next book will be better.

I wasn't aware all of the characters from James Patterson's children's books were going to appear in Middle School: Master of Disaster until I opened the book up early this morning. I had no attention to reading it right away but after reading a few chapters, I ended up reading it one sitting.

Having all the characters in one book is pure genius, even though it makes no sense how Max and Fang are in it. If you have read the Maximum Ride series, then you'll understand what I'm talking about.

All of the stories are well-written and the illustrations by Jomike Tejido are all wonderful. Unlike a few past James Patterson's titles, there are no hidden political or social messages, which in my opinion should never appear in books written for children!

Overall, I loved reading Middle School: Master of Disaster. Kids of all ages, including adults, will have a blast reading it.

My Thoughts
In this Middle School book, Patterson has brought all the different characters from his various books together for a show. But Jimmy booked the hall for the wrong time, until 12pm instead of 12am. So while all the characters are on stage telling their stories, Jimmy and Rafe have to get another permit in time.

I quite liked seeing all the different characters together, and found it creative. It was fun read, a nice break from the novels i usually read. Was it anything spectacular? Not really. Everyone coming together was interesting to see, especially characters I hadn't read about in a while.

This is a long running series and after reading this as my first exposure to the series I would advise you start at the beginning or closer to the beginning.

The two troublemakers are trying to do a good deed but of course things don't go as planned. Rafe & Jimmy revert to their own way of doing things to solve the problem.

I was looking for a good series that might interest one grandson and this looks like a good series if I can find the original ones.

Definitely written by James Patterson with quick wit, short chapters and constant action.

The book, "Middle school-Masters of Disasters" is written by James Patterson and is realistic fiction. Some of it could happen in real life, but some of it is fantasy. "Middle School- Masters of Disasters" is book 12 out of its series. "Middle School Masters of Disasters", is about a boy named Ralf who is quite a trouble maker, but for once he is doing a nice thing. He is helping create the biggest party of the year dedicated to books. The whole party was just what he imagined. There were people telling their stories and famous people singing. Then one mistake happens, the main character(isn't the brains of his friend group) So Ralf check the wrong box off on the permit, which was what was letting him rent out the giant space to hold millions of people. He wrote from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. That gave them one hour to have the party space, and the party was supposed to go on all night. He and his friend had to run to the permit office to fix everything, but there were people who rented the space when their time was up. Will Ralf and his friends get to the office in time when the clock was ticking? read to find out and hear some of the people's creative stories!
If you liked any of James Patterson's books that are apart of his MIddle school series, you might like this book.
This book was pretty good, it might be boring to you at first, but it is a book where you can use your imagination for some of it.

There are many cameos at the event - Jamie Grimm from I FUNNY, Jacky Ha-Ha, the Kidd family of TREASURE HUNTERS, super-genius Max Einstein. Sadly the disjointed nature of this means the book didn't flow smoothly as the narrative was all over the place. Happily I now have a list of MORE of Patterson's Juvenile/Young Adult books to read, so as far as the goal of celebrating books and reading goes ...

“Middle School Master of Disaster” is part of a series written by James Paterson. The main characters are Rafe Katchdorian, Tommy, Storm, Beck, Bick Kidd, and Jimmy. Rafe and Jimmy had to perform at the Stadium where they were performing. So they got on a train that was tracking them the opposite way. Even though they jumped through heaps and bounds to get to the Stadium, they finally made and performed their speeches. Their lifetime dream has finally come true. This book is one of my favorites, probably not my top favorite, but probably in my top 3. I give this book a 4 out of 5ersuasive. The theme of this book is if you believe in something enough, it will come true, follow your dreams if you like the other books by James Patterson. It is just like his others, except every story is different.

This book was not what I expected at all, in a good way. It was great seeing all of James Patterson's characters in one book. Even Maximum Ride and Fang make a cameo appearance! It was just real crazy, and gets better as it goes on. My one problem is that it's not really a Middle School book in my opinion. We only get 6 chapters from Rafe's perspective. The main character was Jimmy. Not Rafe. If you read the summary, it's in Rafe's perspective, but that's because it's "part" of the Middle School series. I do agree with Patrick Li that they were only using the Middle School series because it was their most popular series. But the story itself is still good enough to get 5/5 stars.

Do you like books with mini books inside of it? Then this book is for you. It takes place in Washington DC. It's about Jimmy and Rafe trying to get there correct time stamp to a member of W.A.S.P. who own the national mall (in the story) with short little stories in it. My favorite part was when Jimmy yelled at Rafe for taking to long to say an idea.

I would suggest this book for children in 4th-7th grade. I find books like this, with a lot of characters overwhelming. This is book 12 of a series. Perhaps if I started with book 1 this one would have made more sense. I did like the overall idea of this big event that promoted reading but the individual stories of each character took me away and lost me a bit.

The main conflict on the story is the publisher James Paterson hosted a huge event and it went down hill. the party was reserved for only 5 hours and the event was supost to be for 48 hours. So they have to get to the office before it runs out of time. I like this book because it has good humor. i would recommend this book to all middle schools.

Treasure, robotics, talking mice, and flying people, this book was excellent. I liked the book because I loved the stories of adventures. It was great, amazing, and fun. It was an ok read and took four and half hours to read. So all I can say is keep on adventuring.
