Tommy Donbavand was an English actor and an author of books and comics for children including the Scream Street series. He was from Liverpool, England.
Revisited Scream Street 16 years since I've picked up the first copy back then, and I still wished I got a chance to live on that street.
Keep in mind that this is a children's book, the pace will be quick but there is enough depth to get to know the main trio better.
The first book details the "why" the main character was transported to Scream Street, and sets the story well and introduced the main trio - Luke, Resus and Cleo.
You will smile with the silly puns, interesting takes on folklore and also the illustrations really help in imagining what everything looked like!
This is the third book, and the premise is consistent across the first six books, the Founding Fathers are the interesting ones as they all have their own personality.
This felt quite unique and different to all the other middle grade horror series I've ever read. For one thing It has a unique set up. We get a cast of characters and a map of the town in the beginning which is always a fun addition and but the big thing here is we are following "monster kids" as our protagonists which is something I've rarely seen done, if ever. Also it doesn't go for any scares, it's just telling a story in this creature filled world. One thing I was thrown by what age group this is aimed at as some parts of the book feel very juvenile and there's silly jokes and then other parts are filled with advanced information and terms and references to things such as alcohol. (3.5 stars rounded down).
I love this book. Its adventure mixed with horror or mistery. This book is about a half human, half wolf boy named luke who has human parents. They live in scream street which is full of monsters. The parents want to go back to the human world and in order for them to do that, luke has to collect all of the relics which are parts of the creatures. In this book he is on a quest to find the heart of a mummy with his two friends, cleo the mummy and resus the vampire. This book is so much fun and exciting. I also love the unique story line. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun and adventurous book to read.
I liked this book because it was a little scary and very interesting also had so cool characters that were fun to read about. I recommend it to anybody who likes Goose Bumps to read this because it is kinda like it. I compared it to Sisters and it didn't have any similarities. Will the kids find the heart of the mummy or not?
Continuing this children’s series, Luke, Resus and Cleo deal with a tonne of spiders, which, I’ll be honest, not a big fan of but it was kind of cool in the context. Also, was introduced to a really cool character, a mummy who tap-dances to control spiders and watched soap operas. I thought that was hilarious! Also, this book gives more information into Cleo’s life and, it’s really cool!
I really liked because when Cleo's mother came even though her casket fell overboard. Then when Luke and Resus were saying that wasn't her mother but it was Dixon but cleo didn't want to listen.
Serinin okuduğum diğer iki kitabındn daha sönüktü ve daha az gerçekçiydi. Diğer ikisine göre bunu pek beğenemedim. Kalan kitapların daha iyi olacağını umuyorum.
