Your own goddess? What could go wrong?

ONE OF THE LONGEST AND MOST POPULAR MANGA TITLES BEGINS!

Here, in this volume, the incredible story of Oh My Goddess! starts.

If any of you read my previous review of the volume 555-GODDESS, you may remember that I told you that that volume had mistakes and omissions from the original Japanese version.

In this volume, all the mistakes are corrected and there aren't any omissions.

Now you can enjoy the story as Kosuke Fujishima, the author, intended for us to experience it.

Here, the writer/artist, Kosuke Fujishima begins his long run of a manga that it has been existing since almost 20 years in Japan. Also, it´s the longest without any interruption title of Dark Horse Comics and still a big seller.

The art on this volume is still not so good but the virtue of Fujishima is that if you are loyal and keep buying volumes, you will notice that he gets better and better and the art of the manga will reach incredible levels.

Also, even on his beginnings, the art of Fujishima is amazingly detailed that not all manga artists are so careful with the details in the clothes and environment.

A PRICELESS STORY WITH SOMETHING TO EVERYBODY

Oh My Goddess! is a wonderful story with something to everybody, you will find romance, humor, science-fiction, magic, paranormal stuff, mysteries, action, coming-to-age elements, college situations, even the details about motor vehicles will be stunning precise since Fujishima, the author, is a huge fan of anything with a motor on it specially motorcycles and race cars.

Keiichi Morisato is your average college student, not the most popular but also not a chiclé loser. He is a student on the Nekomi Institute of Technology, and there he is also a member of the Motor Club.

One night, while he is making a call to ask for pizza while taking care of a house of a friend, he calls by mistake to the "Goddess Relief Office" and suddenly he is having in front of him, Belldandy, a beautiful woman who is a real goddess offering him a wish. Without really thinking, he just said the first thing that came to his mind...

...he wanted to have a goddess just like her, for the rest of his life...

...and a charming priceless story begins!!!

Now a rare item in any Oh My Goddess! collection

This particular Manga TPB of Oh My Goddess was the first one to publish by Dark Horse on America translated to the English language, however Dark Horse edited it and they didn't print several pages from the original Japanese version.

Fans found out and they reclaimed to Dark Horse.

The publishing house responded and they printed later 2 new TPBs Wrong Number and Leader of the Pack, in that way, the readers were able to get the whole initial stories with the full content intended on the original Japanese edition.

Technically, you don't need to have this very TPB, 1-555-Goddess since this Manga TPB has errors of sequence and it didn't have the whole content of the stories.

HOWEVER if you are a huge fan of Oh My Goddess on its original presentation on manga, you may consider to have this TPB as a cool item for your own collection since it went out of printing (due being an edition with the mentioned mistakes) and nowadays you can only have it if you are able to find some of the original first printing editions.

I'm currently reading this, and have books up to volume 36. I will write a proper review, with spoilers, when I finish the 36th. So far I've been loving it. :)

=

2024: Finished it! (That is, to the end of volume 36, which thankfully didn't end with a cliffhanger.)
Very enjoyable, even more perhaps if you have some interest in motorbikes. The story began in 1989, so some its fashion tastes and haircuts show, particularly in the first few volumes. The drawing style also change, in my opinion for the better, as the story progresses.
The main plot is basically: one day, Keiichi Morisato, an university student, is visited by a goddess Belldandy, and makes a careless wish , gaining an eternal companion who can protect and help him with her powers (of course, these have to be hidden from the ordinary human world). Many funny scenes, challenges and supernatural being stories start to happen...

Belldandy isn't the only person to get to live with Keiichi (good thing he gains a small temple to live in soon after meeting her). Two of her sisters also come to live with him, Urd and Skuld. These three can also be found in "Saga Of Volsungs", although Belldandy is Verdandi in there.

Anyway, Belldandy has many powers that can protect and help Keiichi and many of his friends. Keiichi's sisters Megumi appears at the house regularly, and after university time, Keiichi starts a . Occasionally, there is a threat from another supernatural being's visit, sometimes unintentionally; there's also some trips to the beach, and competitions, and unusual customers for Keiichi.
Hiding Belldandy's nature isn't mostly a big deal, though Keiichi's family, the members of the motorists' club and university people are some that need to not find the truth.

I found this series pretty family-friendly, although there's some drunkkenness, nice lady figures, and general destruction. The publisher in Finland stopped releasing volumes suddenly, but I'm quite happy with how the last volume ended, so I'm find with what I got.

"Good Evening! What is your desire...?"

With those words relatively short Keiichi Morisato who never had luck with women meets the goddess Belldandy and his life will never be the same thanks to her. After accidentally contacting the Goddess Helpline, Belldandy arrives via his mirror and grants him any one wish (even to destroy the world if he wishes but they tend to avoid doing business with those sort of people.) Believing this was all a prank set up by his roomies Keiichi wishes a goddess like Belldandy would be with him always...and gets his wish. What follows is a series of events where Belldandy and Keiichi must find a new place to live (no girls allowed in the man cave), learn to adjust to living together, and experience a variety of interesting people who each meet their own fates (sometimes even given a little push by our lovely goddess.)

Coming in at 48 volumes Darkhorse Manga has done a great job bringing the humor as well as the subtle affection of Belldandy and Keiichi as they discover how they work so well together. This classic series (created in the late 80s) seems to have influenced a variety of harem type series but I can imagine few if any could match the elegance of Belldandy. You might notice she has been one of my favorite characters in anime even when I first started watching actual anime thanks to a video rental I randomly chose from an assortment (haha I am showing my age again.)

My only regret is it seems the company was creating these lovely larger print omnibus volumes of the series and it seems like they have stopped not only making new volumes but have allowed some of the older editions to slip out of print making my hoes of collecting the physical series considerably more difficult. Luckily Kindle has all of the volumes available so I can at least continue reading the adventure of my favorite goddess and her misfit human. :)

Completely biased by nostalgia. It's been over 20 years since I've read this.

World: The art is a work in progress now that I see it again, when I first read this I was a teenager and thought it was fine, now as I said it's very dated and wonky but still charming. The world building is great, it's little pieces that are created when the story needs it and there is no info dumping at all, it's charming like the entire series.

Story: I know the premise is ridiculous and dated and much like Edgar Rice Burroughs there is a blur whether we take it as it is, or not at all and this is the case with this series. Sure, there are a lot more sexist books in Manga and this is way way way on the tame side, but it is true the premise is what it is. That being said the core of the story, when you look past the the issue, is a charming and heartwarming slice of life and family drama which I love to bits. It's the quiet moments and the small little charming moments that makes this series so very dear to my heart. Seeing Belldandy at school, Keichi dealing with school, and in this arc Megumi and his relationship with his brother. It's these little charming moments that make this series amazing.

Characters: Belldandy is very charming albeit one note, she is more a plot device at this moment in time in the book and Keiichi is the focus. He's immediately likable and empathetic and the appeal of this story is anchored on him. Some may find the development too slow, but that's the point of the series, it's not about the end result but the small little moments that make this sure a wonderful character and a character drama that it is.

A dated premise, but get past that and you will find a gem of a slice of life/family drama that just warms the heart.

Onward to the next book!

This is the title that initiated the Magical Girlfriend subgenre of harems and ecchies and it’s also amongst the oldest harems yet still published manga series (it’s been around since 1988).

STORY SECTION: 5/10 [Feels almost like a hentai]
Analysis: General Scenario 1/2, Pacing 1/2, Side Stories/Extra Spices 2/2, Plausibility 1/2, Conclusion 0/2

The story is about a teenage dork dialing the wrong number and ends up living with a beautiful goddess, ready to fulfill his wishes, of which his is to stay with him forever (wish fulfillment). Soon afterwards her also godly sisters pop up (harem creation) and his life becomes complicating as he is constantly surrounded by supernatural hot chicks and had to keep using his talents to save the world from cosmic horrors (action) without messing his tiny personal life (comedy). The story is one big pile of comedy, romance, drama, that also blends mythology with science fiction. The core premise is always about Keichi and Belldandy being in love and staying true to each other, even when the cosmic forces conspire against them.

The whole “Sudden Girlfriend Appearance” never made much sense and a “Magical Girlfriend” one makes even less. The whole deal is quite unrealistic. Beautiful goddesses, living in your apartment and helping you solve your problems with epic-level magic? That is something that happens only in anime as cheap means of escapism. Plus, only living with them but never go beyond peeking and hugging is something that all men should loathe worldwide.

But let’s not forget it was amongst the first to set the stage as such and it was everybody else that copied this now tired formula. I hold nothing against its premise as it was quite original and interesting back then. Also, judging it as a fictional story it is far-far better than most similar series as it leaves room for infinite possibilities. Unlike most harems that are hardly trying to flesh out their characters or provide internal logic to all the madness in the story, AMG is actually trying its best to make everything seem logical and excused. The girls are all there for a reason, react somewhat logical with the restrictions of the premise, have powers that are somewhat excused through science and every event has technology and mythology to back it up.

Also, the story never forgets to still be easy-going and funny, where nothing major or deadly ever happens; so all “fake-looking” or “nerdy” situations in it are easily ignored. Realism aside, it is good and cheery, without being great. Some parts are definitely more exciting or funny than others and most of the duration may feel as dead time but it is still overall quite enjoyable.

A big flaw for some is that there is no actual scenario development, other than introducing more secondary characters and ephemeral threats every now and then. But if stand-alone episodes and stale stories don’t bother you, this is not a problem anymore. Other than that, there is no actual objective or even a conclusion, no matter how many mangas come out. It just goes on and on indefinitely.

CHARACTER SECTION: 6/10 [Sultan’s favorite place]
Analysis: Presence 2/2, Personality 2/2, Backdrop 2/2, Development 0/2, Catharsis 0/2

I admit that Belldandy is amongst my favorite anime girls. Too gentle and good to be true, but then again she is a goddess and that is enough of an excuse. Her sisters Urd and Skuld are also very interesting. Few series manage to present so many diverse and yet likable characters. I can say it is the combination of great visuals, ethereal music and unearthly nature that makes them feel far better than the average harem bimbo out there.

But Keichi is was and still is a typical male dork that is swarmed by beautiful girls without being anything special. Oh, sure, he is gentle, kind, good-hearted and the like; but let’s face it, girls don’t really notice such things. We can always justify it with the fact that Belldandy is a goddess that can see people for what they really are. But since I am not a god, I say he is a sissy for feeling embarrassed every time he has the chance to make some lovey-dovey. He and all other males like him in most harem anime are despicable! They give the male gender a bad name, he is the driest and worst character amongst the cast. But if I am to give him a few redeeming qualities, I can say he is actually using his brain from time to time to solve some problems and even finds the courage to fight for his harem. Too bad he isn’t bold enough to do anything other than that.

Other than that, all characters have quirks, backdrop stories and goals that go beyond their stereotypes as sex-bombs, edgy lolitas and shy male virgins. The secondary characters are all very likable and give enough coloring to main ones. None of them were bad or unneeded in the story. I can’t say the same about Keichi (and to think he is supposed to be the protagonist!).

None develops or finds any sort of catharsis because of the short-arced type of series, which may become tiresome after awhile. Meaning, the characters are colored but are not developing at all. Keichi and Belldandy come a bit closer in the end but it’s nothing much.

ART SECTION: 9/10 [Magical technology]
Analysis: General Artwork 2/2, Character Figures 2/2, Backgrounds 2/2, Readability 1/2, Visual Effects 2/2

The art starts of very weak but slowly improves to the point it looks great if you compare it with other similar series.

-All Slice-Of-Life series don’t use flashy visual effects (they don’t fit there). So, the graphics here are catchier, by default.
-Most romances hardly have so heart-warming atmosphere and adorable character figures.
-Most Magical Girl series don’t have so well made (or serious looking, if you prefer) visual effects.
-Almost all comedies don’t have so detailed character figures. They are usually simplistic and go chibi all the time.
-Most Harem/Ecchi series turn their female characters into obnoxious, panties-revealing sluts. The girls here retain an air of purity and gentleness. The naughty scenes are few but worthwhile, as the focus in the series is not waiting to see boobs every 10 seconds (like it happens in most).

VALUE SECTION: 8/10 [A light that shines your heart]
Analysis: Historical Value 3/3, Rereadability 2/3, Memorability 3/4

Ah! My Goddess helped to mainstream Harem and Magical Girlfriend stereotypes and thus deserves a good mark just for that. Rewatchability is high. It is comical and heart-warming enough to deserve a second watch. But you will most likely skip some not-so great part. Although not original or unique anymore, it is still amongst the best of its genre.

ENJOYMENT SECTION: 5/10 [Like a sunny day, it is enjoyable but also rather passable]
Some problems ruined a portion of the enjoyment.

-The relationship between Keichi and Beldandy never goes beyond hugging, making the whole deal stale and without further development. The story itself has no development, other than introducing more secondary characters every now and then.
-There is a lot of character coloring as the series progress but very little character development. You get to know more about them but don’t see them change at all.
-There are lots of uninteresting chapters, where the goddesses and/or demons rival each other, just for laughs.
-There is no conclusion.

The rest of it was quite decent and a worthy read.

VERDICT: 7/10
A great piece of work in its kind that is bogged down by its stale and aimless storytelling.

I've just read parts of this manga before so it feels great to be able to read it from start and hopefully to the finish line someday. It's drawn beautifully by Fujishima Kosuke and the story is both beautiful and often right out hilarious. The translation to Swedish by Simon “Zimeon” Lundberg is great.

Oh My Goddess is one of (the many) manga "classics" I'd never tried. I wasn't sure it be my type of thing but it into a recent reading challenge I did so I finally gave the first couple of volumes a try.

Keiichi is a college student with a height complex and a troubled social life. When a misdial connects him to the Goddess Technical Help Line and Belldandy arrives to grant him a wish he, thinking it's all a prank, offhandedly wishes for her to be with him forever. Thus begins his life with a live in "exchange student" and the cosmic powers that will conspire to keep them together (and punish those who try to pry them apart).

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. There's not a lot of depth to the stories or characters but there is humor and charm. The situations are cliched at this point, but of course this is a two decades old manga. Since each tale is generally confined to a chapter it has a strong gag-of-the-week feel which could be a plus or minus depending on what you're looking for.

The art is very good for the style, but admittedly said style is quite dated. The production values from Dark Horse are excellent, particularly in preserving all of the colored pages (which is very rarely done in US editions for cost reasons).

Volume 1 of OMG is a decent start and generally amusing, but I'm not sure it grabbed me enough to continue with much more.

I should start off by noting that I am NOT deducting points for this being flopped (edited so the original right-to-left manga can be read left-to-right when translated), because 1. this is how I started reading the series, and 2. I know people who have tried their absolute best to read right-to-left but just can't get the hang of it, so it's an accessibility issue—even though it's not done ANYMORE for strictly capitalist reasons (cheaper to leave the artwork unedited). About the only time it's a distinct problem for me is when reading order is unclear, or when you have a mix of l-to-r and r-to-l within the same work, like in Manga Biographies: Charles M. Schulz The Creator of Snoopy and Peanuts, since that's confusing for a medium called "sequential art" to break sequence.

What's ACTUALLY jarring is coming back to this volume after having read many of the subsequent volumes and finding a lot of inconsistencies:
- Belldandy LITERALLY reads Keiichi's mind... then never does it again, ever. (My spouse argued sarcastically that she CHOOSES not to, but it does feel like a throwaway ability.)
- Belldandy's forehead mark DRASTICALLY changes size for story reasons, but... I'm pretty sure it levels off and stays approximately the same for the majority of the series, even when the SAME triggers happen again.
- Belldandy claims to not have a lot of power... is this retconned as she is just unaware of having had limiters placed on her?

MAYBE this is explained later, in the "revised" unflopped editions? It's been such a while since I read them to know for certain, or if this is all kind of swept under the rug and forgotten. Or if it's the normal hazard of having a long-running series, that even the CREATOR(S) will forget what happened before.*

Also, admittedly, I was thrown by this line in specific:

Otaki thinking, 'Besides... I haven't had so much fun since the pigs ate my brother! Heh, heh...'

Like, LITERAL pigs LITERALLY ate your brother, Otaki? You watched them kill your sibling, dude?? (Or the brother died naturally but they just threw the corpse to the pigs for their dinner?) Or is it slang for police arresting him, probably for being as brainless as you are? We will NEVER KNOW, because there's no follow-up for a private thought he had to himself.

Belldandy's forged college registration record is a bit "sus" also: "not known" date of birth, "stateless" nationality...? Not going to throw Doc Ozawa off the trail by much! Guy will probably go on to prove the registration's a forgery! (For what benefit? No telling with some people...)

Haha, yikes. I forgot about Sayoko! I can't understand wanting to ruin someone else's relationship, especially one where you aren't interested in the person you're tearing away! The good thing about this series is, whether for sitcom reasons or "the system force" at work, every story has a "good" ending (with or without punchline), so even with someone like Sayoko, everything turns out fine... or, fine-ish.

Definitely a good volume, but SO WEIRD to re-read after later volumes.

*A joke? comment by Jeph Jacques is that he sometimes consults the wiki for his web comic to keep things straight. That's funny but also convenient.

One of the upsides of the COVID-19 pandemic is that it led to me using the local library network's online catalog instead of browsing the selection available at the closest library building to me. This is because of a change in how books were being checked out at the time (there is a new but similar process in place as of this writing, I think). You select a book and put a hold on it, and then the librarian puts your selection into a bag for you to pick up. This helps with social distancing.

This means that the catalog for the entire library network opens up to me. I didn't know how to do this at the start of the year, so I might not have found this particular book. It is the first omnibus for the classic romantic comedy, Ah! My Goddess. It is chapter 1 through chapter 23. Up until now, I have only seen the OVA, so I was excited to see its roots.

It was very interesting to see how the story began. Belldandy's design, for instance, is a lot different than what it would be when the anime started. Characters in-universe mistake her as being a traveler from India. Also, since Belldandy herself is initially the only supernatural character to be regularly present for many chapters, the story as a whole is more a low fantasy/urban fantasy than it would be in later arcs, when more goddesses and demons show up. This includes what I think is a narrow restriction on the number of times Belldandy can use her powers in one day. If she could use them freely, then she would solve every problem effortlessly, because no one else has any kind of power.

Certain events in the early chapters are a different kind of interesting in light of the infamous plot twist that takes place late in the series; it is clearly a retcon BUT one can see where the origins of such an idea can be seen. Is it a coincidence or foreshadowing decades in the making?

The chapters definitely get better over time.

The introduction of different sorts of antagonists allows for different types of conflict, while providing opportunities for hilarity to ensue as this conflict happens to Keichi. Sayoko Mishima tries to steal Keichi, Toshiyuki Aoshima tries to steal Belldandy, and Urd is actually trying to be helpful to Keichi and Belldandy but causes trouble because she is "The Exchanger of Means and Ends". In other words, she has a good intention but gets carried anyway in how she fulfills that intention. Occasionally, there is a motor vehicle race, and those are also fun.

So the comedy follows the duo's responses to these conflicts, and Keichi is usually the butt of the jokes. Indeed, it is as if the Yggdrasil system is balancing the tremendous good fortune of having a girlfriend like Belldandy with lots of comedic misfortunes. My favorite is when he takes a part-time job as a monster for a Tokusatsu superhero show, only to discover when the rest of the cast has left that he can't work the zipper on his costume, so he decides to wander the street and beg a stranger for help. That scenario had me in stitches for several minutes.

On another note, regarding the story's romance aspect, I thought it was odd that the earliest phase of Belldandy and Keichi's relationship is glossed over. The first three chapters are their first full day together, and then the next two chapters cover (I think) several months. So by chapter 6 or so, they are definitively a couple, and acting like it. I think I like it better that way.

Rare is it that I find a manga that quickly establishes its official couple as official so quickly. Most go for the Will-They-Or-Won't-They route, so a reader is lucky to see as much as an attempted confession by the end of the series. This one shows an actual relationship, such as the two of them going on dates, working together on projects, and Keichi looking for a meaningful way to mark their one year anniversary together. So while I didn't see why they fell in love, I get to see chapter after chapter of them actually being in love, which few series are willing to do.

Keiichi Morisato is a college student who inadvertently contacts the Goddess Help Line - a service through which divine interventions are managed. The goddess Belldandy appears before Keiichi, who takes the whole thing to be a practical joke being played on him. He wishes that Belldandy will always be with him, and the wish is granted quite literally. Belldandy reveals soon after that she'll always have to be by his side, though she doesn't really have any powers on her own as she is simply a conduit for the divine forces in heaven. So hijinks ensue as Keiichi is kicked out his college dorm for having a woman there, and now he has to navigate a bizarre scenario where he is surrounded by the fish-out-of-water Belldandy. The story leans heavy on the humor to drive it forward, and while much of it is fairly charming stuff, it's hard to see how the series maintains momentum from here. I quite liked Kōsuke Fujishima's initial setup, and even though the premise is rather flimsy, Fujishima executes it pretty well. I'll probably give another couple volumes a shot, but I can't say I was really blown away by this.

College student Keiichi dials a wrong number and summons a goddess who promises to grant him one wish. Smitten by the goddess Belldandy, Keiichi immediately wishes for a beautiful goddess like her to be with him forever. Let's just say that Keiichi's life is about to get considerably more complicated.

And it becomes even more so, when Belldandy's rogue-goddess older sister (with greater powers and quite a bit less good judgement) arrives on the scene.

From wish-granting boardgames to exam-taking clones, everyone's best intentions end up going repeatedly and badly wrong.

This was amusing in a sitcom sort of way. It didn't really appear to be going anywhere after the arrival of evil-sister goddess Urd, so it felt like the story was spinning its wheels a bit in the second half. But it was still funny and entertaining all the way through.

Almost 15 years ago, a friend introduced me to the Ah! My Goddess anime. Since I enjoyed the series, I started collecting some of the Dark Horse comic books and eventually found some of the Dark Horse graphic novels.

One of my colleagues is currently reading the graphic novels, so I dug out a couple from my collection and decided to read them.

Even though I probably shouldn't, I find myself comparing the manga with the animation; consequently, this first volume does not measure up to the memories I have of the anime. At this time, I give this first volume 3 stars.

One of my favorite manga ever

Still a little raw here, with Fujishima still feeling his way into the characters and situations. There's no indication in this volume, for instance, of the protagonist being anything more interesting than the hapless comedic loser who lucks into a pact with a goddess way out of his league on every level. As the cast grows and Keiichi develops in later volumes you really come to appreciate what Belldandy sees in him, and eventually it's one of my favorite relationships in all manga.

The art style is very 80's, but it's nice, besides the fact that the eyes are often drawn way too far apart and end up looking goofy instead of pretty.

The beginning doesn't make much sense and goes by too fast, but after that I like the story. So far, Belldandy seems too perfect. She's still fun, but her perfection makes it a little hard for the tension to affect me, because I know she can make things right with her magic.

I wish these weren't out of print, because the quality of these singles feels nice. There are a lot more color pages than in stuff published today.

We have a goddess that becomes attached to the hip to a nerd because he wished it. And she couldn’t undo the wish after it happened. So now everyone is like “dang dude you have a hottie following you”. He gets some feelings near the end but genuinely doesn’t view her as an object. Heard the tv show more than the manga is a bit sexist. Felt the manga kept the story balanced - with sprinkles of “where did you find that girl” lol

Wasn't sure about it at the start with the idea of a boy basically wishing for a goddness like her to always be with him when he is given the opportunity to ask for literally anything he wants. But it turned out to be a pretty cute, light story with the two working together dealing with the fact they're now bound to stay together. Nekomi as a disaster nerd boy and Belldandy as a charming goddess. Plus some cool side characters I'm looking forward to seeing more of. A fun series of obstacles and misunderstandings that make a funny and entertaining story.

Why did I read this? Because it was on sale for $2.99 on Kindle.

Once upon a time, I watched a random film from OMG! I vaguely remember it, but I always remembered Belldandy. I loved her color and design. When I saw the series was on sale, I bought the first two volumes.

It’s a simple romance fantasy manga with some comedy. It is a product of its time. Therefore, I liked it. 5 stars. Classic stuff. Good beginning. Will read volume 2 and maybe the others if they are still on sale.

This has been a classic and when our neighbors moved, i got a chance to have a copy.

This is the first time I ever got to read or even be exposed to the beginning of Keiichi and Belldandy's story. And it's so adorable to see how they begun.

If there's anything I don't like is from early on we can see keiichi's reliance to Belldandy about almost everything.

I really liked their story and I'll be happy to continue reading until the end.

While I did enjoy reading this, I'm not quite at the level to be able to fully understand the content of a seinen manga. The first three volumes were (and still are) free on Kindle on Amazon Japan, and I've always heard of this series being quite good. I would totally like to reread this once I have a little more of a grasp on the language.

However, the art style is rather dated.

This was really quite a nice read. Bell Dandy is so lovely that she more than makes up for the limited characterization of the other characters. I’m looking forward to reading more. This is my first time through, though it seems to be a newer edition of an older work.

Didn’t do much research into it. Read it cold and liked it very much.

So begins one of the greatest rom-com manga of all time. I have read this series before, but I have decided to start from the beginning and finally finish it this year. Though the art evolves in later chapters into characters people are more familiar with, the seeds are here for a fantastic series that has stood the test of time.

I fell in love with the 2006 anime title a few years back, and now I'm glad to indulge in some godly-goodness once more! This is a long series and hard to read online, so I'll just slowly read copies at Barnes & Noble for the time being ^_^
