Pronto, sin embargo, la dispar pareja se ve envuelta en asuntos que están mucho más allá de sus cálculos. La búsqueda de Benito pasa a un segundo plano a causa del inminente conflicto entre las sectas en Boston. I really enjoyed this one! Sure one of my top 3 so far!
J. Achilli's writing is smooth and fun.
The plot was interesting, with strong Giovanni vibes and many many dark scenes with Tzimisce and more.
I kind of wish there were more pages in this one...

While I found it a bit confusing to follow at times and the main protagonist a rather bland, flat character with forced depths, the remaining cast and overall storyline make up for such short fallings.

Mafioso vampires

While the Ventrue clan novel was like the political side of different crime stories, this book steers into the skid of being a crime novel by focusing on the crime side of things. If you like things like The Godfather or the crime films of Martin Scorsese, this is like those but with vampires.

While this book certainly sets the tone for the Clan, it doesn't hold up so well in the modern era. Well written, sure, but graphic as heck, and lots of times is just shock value for shock value's sake.

Good, a bit more goodfellas than I expected, but still good. Worth the ebook version.

Definitively one of the better ones in the series.

Probably, the best of the Clan Novels. Also the darkest. And one that doesn't require [almost] any prior knowledge of World of Darkness lore or previous Clan Novels. If someone would ask me which of the Clan Novels is worth reading, I'd suggest this one.

Easily the worst in the series so far, and for the most part I haven't been all that impressed with the series. I understand that vampires are not generally boy scouts, and the Giovanni, being, as they are, involved in organized crime, are perhaps worse than most. But even so, for a novel to retain the reader's interest, it has to have SOME character that resonated with the reader at least a LITTLE bit, a character that, if the reader doesn't actually approve of them or respect them, they at least care about them ever so slightly. This book fails miserably in that regard; there are NO characters who the reader can really find the least bit interesting. Which is in a way a good thing, given that almost all of the characters die during the course of the book. What's more, the plot to this book seemed to have only a minimal connection to the plot of the series as a whole; I don't feel as if it advanced that plot an iota.

All in all, an almost total waste of time.

This might be one of my favorites of the Clan Novels so far. It really does a great job showing what immortality can do to a person, how they have to loose that ability to love or how the Beast affects them. It was dark and grim, and of the clans I knew the least about the Giovanni so it was really interesting. They're by far the most interesting of the clans I've read about so far. I'd like to see more of them and their political structure.

This is a fantastic series if you are a fan or player of the Vampire the Masquerade Table Top game. I gave it a 3 because I don't recomend this series to those who are not.

Barely felt connected to the larger scheme of things. Dates jumped back and forth... And the main characters were generally unlikable.
