Beneath you, around you, through you, just beyond the edge of all that you know and all that you are, a blink and a breath away, like a whisper upon your skin, lies the unknown. Behold the NeverNeath.
The NeverNeath is a bundle of exciting new serialized stories set in a realm that lies just beyond human perception. This is the story of a monster who believed himself unworthy of love and the girl who proved him wrong.
NYTimes and USA Today Bestselling Author Darynda Jones has won numerous awards for her work, including a prestigious RITA, a Golden Heart, and a Daphne du Maurier, and her books have been translated into 17 languages. As a born storyteller, Darynda grew up spinning tales of dashing damsels and heroes in distress for any unfortunate soul who happened by, certain they went away the better for it. She penned the international bestselling Charley Davidson series and is currently working on several beloved projects, most notably the Sunshine Vicram Mystery Series with St. Martin's Press and the Betwixt and Between Series of paranormal women's fiction. She lives in the Land of Enchantment, also known as New Mexico, with her husband and two beautiful sons, the Mighty, Mighty Jones Boys.
Well, what is there to say, really? The plot and characters of this story seem interesting enough, but it didn't really pay off in the end. The story consists of 4 chapters, and in the end you just get left hanging with questions and no pay-off. I'm certain this could have been quite good, but, unfortunately, this whole thing just feels like a beginning with no end.
If this is something new, bring it on Mrs. Jones. You again hooked me under your spell.
I loved the multiple points of views of this short story. I can tell Iggy has a whole lot of history that Darynda will cover hopefully in the next installment. From the blurb, it says "This is the story of a monster who believed himself unworthy of love and the girl who proved him wrong". But right off the bat, you know Iggy is so very wrong. He is so very worthy! You fall in love with this guy right away, along with the other characters in the story.
While I love everything about this short story, I was left longing for more. I was left with questions like, what is Iggy? How old is he really? and When can I read more of his story?
This story has all the fixings of a brewing romance, action, suspense, and a whole lot of swooning. I can feel it in my bones, this is going to be an awesome series...I mean short serial stories. As busy as Mrs. Jones is with her other series, the Charley Davidson Series, I'm hoping she turns this serial stories into full-length installments. There is just so much potential here to be waisted on shorts, IMO. I know I sound like a demanding reader, but I can't help it. I want more!
I received this serialized stories via Darynda Jones' Newsletter. And from what the note said, Darynda plans to send more via newsletters. So if you have not signed up for her newsletters yet, now is the time.
Serialized story. How did I not know about Iggy before? This is shaping up to be well worth my time. Darynda does write mysterious, dangerous hot guys so well.
So this is a serial story, which is up to chapter 4 (the chapters are fairly long and a lot happens in a short amount of time). Again as with all of Ms Jones stories, the plot is well paced, the characters are interesting and entertaining. I didn’t realize it was a work in progress but so far it’s really well done. Chapters 3&4 came out in December so I’m hoping there is not a long wait until the next installment!! 🤞🏻
The five stars I had planned to give to this very good story, are left in two because I was disappointed to discover that there was nothing else written. It's not fair to be left with thousands of unanswered questions and on top of that ending the way it ends.
These first two parts are really just the tip of the iceberg on this story. We have our two main characters and a ton of questions. Tons of potential! I can’t wait until we get the next chapters.

The story continues to unfold. There are secrets that I’m eager to find out. About Iggy about, about Frankie and her parents. I found myself willingly lost in the story. I am very ready for the next part.
I hope that Darynda continues to write this compelling read. I only see up to Chapter 4 and really enjoyed it. I signed up for her news letter so hopefully she will continue Iggy's story.
I've enjoyed everything I've read by Darynda Jones so far and this serialized story was nothing short of awesome. Great characters, complicated/tangled plot, and love the "woo woo" aspect of it. On to read part two in the NeverNeath world, A Lovely Drop.
Okay, so the fact that the second book was out made me think this was complete. Spoiler alert, it is NOT. If the rest of the story is as good as the first four chapters, then this will easily be a 5-star read for me. But it's not finished, darn it! So I'm going to give it 3 stars for now and will willingly raise the rating when she finishes it!
Enjoyed reading parts I, II and III on Darynda's website. I am not usually a fan of YA books but I want to read about how everything/everyone is connected. Looking forward to reading more.
I read this online and love Darynda Jones’ writing! How does someone come up with all these ideas. I guess it doesn’t matter when you make a great story after story. This was no different! I absolutely loved it. The characters and the “monster” so awesome! Francesca and Iggy are so cute together! I love how the story was back and forth without it being separate chapters and it was more like flash backs and remembering. It gave me Vampire Diary vibes! I will read everything Darynda writes.
This is a serialized story, with only four parts written at the moment. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's going to continue since part 4 was added three years ago. The story was intriguing, and it was easy to get caught up in the world of the NeverNeath. I'm just sorry I'll probably never know what happens with Iggy & Frankie.
Really enjoyed reading this and I want more even after the last chapter on the last book I want to know more so I trust that Darynda will see fit to continue this one into a full scale book :D Hint hint Darynda ;)
I sometimes struggle with serialized reads because they lose my attention waiting for the next episode. As with all that Darynda Jones comes up with, this one I anxiously waited for. Great suspense, intriguing characters. Well worth the wait.
I have read what is on the site. It goes to IV but the story is unfinished. How can I finish reading the story? There's not a book that I can find. Please help me find a way to finish this story. It pulled me in and appeared to just stop in the dark with a gun shot.!!! More Please!!!!
