This is honestly a refreshing change from LKH's most recent books because it has none of the pontificating, repetetitive nonsense, one-upmanship, or outright offensive drivel. It's actually pretty fun for a one off short story.
That was brief and felt unfinished. I suppose that's the nature of short stories in general, but it felt like it was more of an introduction to a story than a story itself. It had all the framework to be a good little novella, then it just ended.
This short story was just a couple of pages long and quite frankly was less annoying than the last few books I have read from her. This short story was actually decent, especially, since none of her boy toys were involved and I didn't have to put up with Anita's atrocious sex life. If anything it reminded me a little of old school Blake just raising zombies. Exactly, how we were first introduced to her dozens of books earlier. I truly wish that Hamilton would go back to that type of writing and story telling but I know better than that.
This is the kind of scenes I miss in the Anita Blake series. Something weird and funny and downright abnormal for even a necromancer/vampire executioner.
What’s less than a short story? A tease? Never knew this existed till I found the Goodreads record. Hardly feels substantial enough for a mention, much less a review.
Ok... wheres the rest of the story? You can't just tease like this I mean come on ZOMBIE GOAT and there isn't crap to go with it for how Anita raised a goat as a zombie.
Short and cute. I loved the happy pet goat. Even more appealing (and shocking) was the lack of whiny relationship angst and overdone erotica. Just Anita the Necromancer doing her job. Awesome.

I found this story on the authors site. { laurellkhamilton.com. } It is a very cute read story. I enjoy the Anita Blake stories even though it is short and cute it was worth the read
