It's a really good book with great recipes and skin care advice. Only thing I would say is that all pictures are of very young women it would have been nice to see pictures of women of all ages with good skin.

This book is beautiful - gorgeous photos, good recipes. It could have used a good nutritionist on the team. Please mature women do NOT follow her recommendation for iron supplementation - dead wrong (it can actually increase your risk for chronic disease) unless you confirm low iron with labs. Too, I would have loved to see a bit of diversity in the photos - all white 20 year olds - yes beautiful, but...this book would be good for a young gal perhaps...teen to twenty.

Wendy Rowe is a make-up artist who realizes to get great skin and a healthy glow you first need to get your gut healthy. She says, “I’ve come to see that skin troubles are a reflection of what’s going on inside. To get perfect skin and maintain it, you need the right balance inside and out…The skin won’t look good unless you pay attention to your health in general and your diet in particular…Your body will tell you what you need, but it doesn’t scream, it whispers, so try to listen.”

She starts out talking about how to generate good digestion and things to look out for. She describes what Detoxification is and gives a few recipes and then there is a page for Stress-busting tips I thought were helpful and doable. Then there was a list of Beauty “Betrayers and a list of Saviors.” This is a list of Dos and Don’ts to help keep you healthy and your skin looking radiant.

She then shares what’s in her Beauty Store Cupboard – Things to always have on hand in your kitchen and bathroom.

I like the list of Wendy’s Golden Rules the first two are 1. No, raw After 4p.m 2. Chew, Chew, Chew etc. The rest of the book is broken down into seasons and ingredients blossoming at that time which are most helpful in eating beautiful. The author goes on to say, “Skin care is important of course, but eating a range of good-quality, skin-friendly foods – seasoned and organically produced when possible – will provide the best foundation. This will ensure your skin has a healthy glow.”

Each season the author describes the healthy benefit of an ingredient. For example, she starts out with Almond Milk – She says “skin-friendly alternative to dairy.” She has a few paragraphs describing it’s benefits, then at the bottom she breaks out the skin-feeding nutrients.

After listing the edible items and their benefits for that season, there are recipes that include that ingredient. There are beautiful pictures of the dish. I like the fact that you didn’t have to make a huge amount of the recipe. All the dishes are a servicing size of two.

The recipes that I made were The Pearl Barley and Chocolate porridge. I’d never had barley before. This reminded me of oatmeal and was very feeling and tasted good. The next recipe I tried was Roast Pumpkin Soup. I liked the soup and realized I was not a fan of fresh sage found in this soup. I hadn’t eaten it before. Next time I make it I might try put dried sage. Maybe it will be less powerful. I made the Carrot soup and was surprised how sweet and flavorful it was. Yummy. But the recipe my family LOVED was the Zucchini and Brown Rice Spaghetti. What a great combination of flavors and textures. The bonus factor was it was great for my skin and my family loved it. The book is sprinkled with beautiful pictures of young models faces and scenes from nature that depict the season being discussed.

The author wraps up the book with beauty tips and homemade recipes for Rosewater Toner, Magnesium Foot Scrub, Calming Lavender Mist, Coconut Oil Cleanser, Spirulina Face Mask and several other natural skincare formulae.

She does have a section on skin care issues and how to help them. There is a paragraph or two about mature skin, and how to care for it.

I can’t wait to try the other recipes in this book and see the results.

One of the things that I loved about this book is the it came with seasons, because of the ingredients that have which recipe. Also, I liked that the book had written comments where you can read the benefits that have each recipe in your health and skin.

I received Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe from Blogging for Books.

I enjoyed reading about the beautiful foods, those foods and ingredients that help us find our outer beauty and our inner beauty. Rowe is a makeup artist to the stars (in fact the forward is by Sienna Miller) and she is a “big believer in nurturing not only the outer skin, but also what lies beneath—our organs and intestines.”

The first part of the book, “Beauty and Food,” discusses the importance of everything from Good Digestion to Intermittent Fasting. Along with the narrative are tips like how to battle indigestion by chewing anise, cardamom and fennel seeds and how to “mindfully” eat (Sit at a table; Don’t get distracted with phone calls; Chew each morsel 40 times). Rowe also lists “Beauty betrayers” (refined sugar, white bread, fizzy drinks, etc.) and “Food Saviors” (fresh produce, water, etc.).

Foods are listed by the season in alphabetical order with descriptions of their beauty value and use. Then come the recipes utilizing lots of leafy greens, fresh fruit, and whole grains. This is not a vegetarian book and there are lots of recipes for fish and chicken. I would say the bulk of the recipes are salads; however, dessert is not ignored.

A lot of Rowe's recipes are for two (which I like) and some of the entrees serve four to six. The recipes seem easy to follow, are mostly practical and sound delicious.

This is the perfect book for anyone wanting a fresh eating start for the new year.

This book is beautiful. The photos and the format, separated according to seasons, makes me want to reach for it again and again. I have tried very few recipes but I found fascinating the skincare advice and the glossary at the end.

Needed a little less words, more recipes, and definitely more photos for my taste. Really interesting though how it was broken down by season.

Eat Beautiful: Nourish your skin from the inside out, by Wendy Rowe. Foreword by Sienna Miller

I found this book to be overwhelming. For those looking to get healthier from the inside out, this book would be great for them. She talks about fasting, things you should stop eating as they are bad for your gut and your skin. She basically tells you how you should change your diet, then she has the book split into four seasons with recipes and beautiful photos of the meals, she tells all of the nutrients, calories, what will be good for your body with that particular recipe and how. She really goes into detail with recipes that are for foods found readily available for that season. The photos of the models and the foods are beautiful. She has at the end of the book some recipes for facial masks, toners, etc. some of her own recipes….and why you should use it. I wonder why they only chose to show young beautiful models, not anyone with skin problems, no faces of different ages, no men……
This book would be great for someone looking for these types of solutions. For me, it is overwhelming and I wouldn’t use it personally.

Recipes seem wonderful & easy to execute ! I loved learning about a plethora of super foods and why they work for skin. Especially as they pertain to the season. Would have rated 5/5 if I read this when it first came out. Reading it years later - some of the advice offered to care for one’s skin is dated.

I knew much of the nutrition advice, but still learned a few tricks. The seasonal layout and recipes was genius. I will make many of the dishes in this book and pay a bit more attention to the foods she listed.

This book had a lot of great advice on both eating healthy and living healthy to help make your skin the best it can be. It is a cross between a recipe book and a beauty tips book giving you a bit of both. I liked that all of the recipes were easy and doable while still being healthy.

This was a nice and simple read. Nothing groundbreaking, but I did learn a few new tips and tricks. I would have liked to have seen more diversity in the photos however, as some other readers have mentioned. All women, not just young women can benefit from the contents in this book.

This is not great...there’s no information in this book you can’t find, sometimes literally verbatim, on the internet. The recipes aren’t interesting, you can find the exact, or very similar, recipes anywhere. Very haphazard with some highly questionable guidance.

Eat Right for Great Skin

Organized by the season from spring to winter, Wendy Rowe, internationally known make-up expert, gives tips on how to eat right to have healthy, glowing skin. Each season features foods appropriate to the season, a discussion of why they help to improve your health and skin, and recipes for how to use them. If you’re familiar with healthy eating, you’ll recognize the foods. I particularly love avocados. I tried her recipe for guacamole, and it’s great.

The book opens with Wendy’s tips for staying healthy: avoiding stress, maintaining a good digestion, quitting sugar, and eating a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, among other suggestions. All of these ideas can be found in other books about health and wellness, but Wendy’s succinct presentation is helpful for recalling the importance of these ideas.

At the end of the book Wendy discusses common skin ailments like psoriasis, eczema, oily skin and more. In addition to discussing what the conditions are and what causes them, she discusses foods that can help to control the problems. She also gives recipes for making your own scrubs and cleansers. The final part of the book discusses her skin care routine and gives a section on plants, like ginger, aloe vera, and cinnamon, that can be used to treat ailments.

I found this a very helpful book. The recipes I’ve tried are delicious, and the information about skin care is valuable. The pictures are beautiful showing young women with perfect skin. I do wish some older women had been featured to show what the routine can do for women older than twenty-somethings.

I recommend the book if you’re looking for healthy recipes and a good way to take care of your skin.

Rowe has compiled information about the benefits from various foods, herbs, and spices for inner health and also clearer and healthier skin. She begins with a brief discussion of the connection between beauty and food, touching on topics like detoxification, digestion and stress. Then she goes through the year, season by season, and gives the rundown on foods that are fresh during that time and what nutrients or other healthy effects they have. At the end of each section, she shares some of her favorite seasonal recipes that feature those foods.

Whether you are looking for a beauty treatment from the inside out, or just looking for guidance on some healthy recipes that might feature foods you hadn't considered before, this is a helpful volume. The photos are beautiful (the foods and the models). The seasonal arrangement helps those who are trying to eat fresh as much as possible throughout the year. And there were even a couple of foods that I had not heard of before, which may not be the case for other readers, but they may learn some interesting facts about familiar foods.

Recommended for readers interested in eating in a more healthy way and for those who want to support their own health and healthy appearance.

I simply love a good cookbook and as an active person (running, yoga, walking, etc.), it is important for me to be naturally healthy and beautiful. Blend the ideas of nourishing your skin from the inside out with ideas and recipes and it's a perfect blend for a book. I call it a beauty cookbook.

Eat Beautiful from Wendy Rowe completely defines the idea of a beauty cookbook. As a world renowned makeup artist with more than 20 years experience (check out www.WendyRowe.com) she definitely knows how to make skin glow with product. Have you seen those celebrities and models? Okay, enough "fangirling" - let's take the focus off the makeup products and help our skin glow from within!

Our skin is our largest organ - we try to stay mindful when speaking of nourishing our muscles, heart, stomach, etc., but not many people focus on the SKIN! Wendy does just that. This beauty cookbook is filled with giant sections named after the seasons including seasonal tips, seasonal recipes, lists of pantry must-haves, mindfulness, ways to beat stress, and a plethora of other pages dedicated to health and overall well-being. I don't know about you, but I can NEVER have enough beauty tips!

This beauty cookbook is simply stunning to look at, well edited, and the photographs are exciting, fashionable, and most of all, look delicious! Take care of you and the skin you are in. It's the only one you have. Pick up Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe as part of your 2017 "New Year, New You" resolution. Resolve to eat well and glow from the inside out!

"Eat Beautiful" by Wendy Rowe is a beautiful book. Simply put. It is broken down into sections for every season, which makes this book so wonderfully organized. You can gain some much useful knowledge and information in a short time from reading one recipe on how to better take care of your body and skin. Some of the ingredients are a little far fetched, but with time, I can see that this will become a lifestyle change for better skin and an over all healthier person! This is a must book for anyone who wants to learn how to better take care of their body and skin. It is worth every single penny! I highly recommend this book not only for its education, but for its beauty! I give this 5/5 stars and was not required to write a favorable review by the publishers.

This a cookbook/beauty book from world renowned beauty and makeup expert Wendy Rowe. It is filled with delicious recipes which will help restore your hair, skin and nails. The antioxidants and vitamins from the natural ingredients in these recipes will make you glow! I loved the aspect this book takes- using cooking to fulfill ones beauty regime. The book also includes many beauty tips and natural homemade hair and skin treatments. I agree with most of the health advice presented in this book. However, I did not like the photos which are on the title page of each section. They are of beautiful, ''healthy'' (I doubt these models used the healthiest techniques before the photoshoots), glowing women who are unfortunately scantily clad. I didn't mind the photos in which the shoulders were shown, and obviously I don't mind legs...but when more is shown...no thanks! Even though I am a woman, this disturbed me. Besides, the models obviously had makeup, fake tans, etc. and didn't look natural despite their glossy wet hair and drops of water on their face.

Apart from the photographs, this book is a great cookbook and beauty help.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

This beauty guide takes the reader through each season with tips for nourishing the body from the outside and inside. There are tips on spicing up your water and recipes for eating healthy. The recipes include many natural ingredients and there are plenty of pictures. This book was a little overwhelming to me in the amount of changes I could make but for someone looking to try out a new lifestyle even in bits I would recommend it and especially the section on fasting. Very interesting! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through the blogging for books program.

Everyone's looks at the skin and thinks the only way to make it better is through the outside. Eat Beautiful makes you realize that you should start from the inside out.

The way you eat and other factors can affect the way your skin reacts. This book includes recipes and homemade masks you can use to help improve your skin.

It's amazing how so many factors throughout the seasons can affect your skin differently. I love all the tips and tricks included in this book. I think you'll love it for those reasons and more.

This is a really good reference book for both beauty and diet. Most of the recipes are a little too fancy for my cooking skill level, but I'd love to eat them all if someone made them for me. The book is so much more than just recipes though. Lots of practical advice. Stresses the importance of a variety of healthy foods in your diet. And the beauty tips and food tips are things that are easily accessible. You don't have to spend a ton of money on brand-name products. Something that I wish I would've read and paid attention to 20 years ago. But it's never too late to start a healthy lifestyle and be a better you. This book is inspiring. And I like the way that it is organized. Very well put together.
