I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).
So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.
Sneezing, Aodhan rubbed his nose. “Charcoal makes me sneeze.” His fingers left smudge marks on his bag when he opened it. “I have cookies and I found a bottle of milk.” A big smile. “It didn’t spill!”
Illium grinned and took a sooty cookie. “I made sammiches.” He’d put cheese and tomatoes in them just like Aodhan liked. “And I got grapes.”
They laid out their booty on top of the bags, both bags between them. While Illium ate a cookie, Aodhan ate the sandwich, and they kicked out their feet.
Dead. Of. Cute.
Baby Illium and baby Aodhan being adorable and I just can't cope!!
Baby Illium and baby Aodahan! I don't need to say anything else but these two are just as adorable as you'd expect. I loved this scene and am now shipping them harder than ever. Please Nalini, these two obviously adore each other give us a MM romance!!
Reread in 2020: I will NEVER get enough of these two ❤️
OMG what. This was the cutest short story I've ever read. in. my. life. Illium and Aodhan as small children?! Too adorable. Seriously unreal. This only makes me that much more excited for book 14...but first I have to catch up with this series haha.
Una pequeña historia corta de la infancia entre Ilium y Aodhan. Dulce, linda, una hermosa familia feliz. Antes de que el padre de Ilium echará todo a perder. 😞
Super cute! I'm assuming these two small angels, Illium and Aodhan will play a bigger role in the series later. I am curious how old Raphael was when this took place. The fact that he was taking time out to race other angels makes me think this happened when he was much younger.
More a vignette than a short story -- but baby Ilium & happy baby Aodhan -- who covered himself in charcoal because he was too sparkly to sneak out. So cute.
Look- I started to listen to a song called Blue Angel, and I immediately HAD to read about my favourite Blue Angel Illium.
And this was just too adorable. Young Illium and young Aodhan being adorable while getting in trouble-ish😂
Read: 06/10/2019 1st rating: 4 stars Genre/sub-genres: urban fantasy/angels/short story Cover: 🤷🏻♀️ POV: Single- 3rd person (Young &. Adorable Illium) Will I recommend: Yes💙 It’s too darn cute 💙
To be honest with everyone I felt a bit lost after reading this and a bit tearing up. I wonder now what happened to these angels to become so scarred and hope they will find each a mate or one for both. I wonder what happened to take away their happiness. I just guess we just have to wait for Nalini to bring out their stories. I'm really looking forward to everything :)
Cute short story from the Newsletter collection, about two of the angels from the Guild Hunter series, back when they were little. I haven’t read this series apart from the first book but it didn’t matter. An adorable 5 minute read.
“His wings were bigger than his body right now (...) he didn’t learn to hold them up, they’d go all droopy and fall off. Illium wasn’t sure she wasn’t fibbing, but he knew for sure that all the strongest warrior angels held their wings off the ground—you had to be strong to be a warrior.” - Illium
I loved reading this! Backtracking to Illium and Aodhan's childhood, this story depicts them sneaking out at night to watch the angels racing before being caught by their parents. Illium's cheekiness is evident even in the younger him.
