Amidst the devastation of a post-magical girl world, Kogami Kii and his companions find themselves crossing paths at the university hospital. Seriously injured, Akuta hatches a plan to eliminate all of the magical girls at once, but it will take a lot of luck and a little time travel. Meanwhile, Kii awakens to find a mysterious letter in his hand and a gift that will shake the world to its core. Blood will be spilled as a final confrontation between Akuta, Kii and Tsukune’s alternative personality, Asuka, draws near. Is there any chance of a “happy ending” for Kii and his friends in this hopeless world?
Born December 1st in the prefecture of Osaka. He began his career in 2008 with a short story called "Kui King Omega" pre-published in the pages of Akamaru Jump (Shueisha). Subsequently, he signed up for a few short stories in the Weekly Champion before starting “Magical Girl of the End” for Monthly Champion in 2012. The series was so popular that it launched a spin-off, “Magical Girl Site” which is pre-published on the website “Champion Tap!”, in July 2013. But his success did not, however, go to his head and he remains extremely helpful for readers. He is also active on the internet and on Twitter, often sharing sketches and answering questions for his fans. He participates at Comicket, where he sells directly its original productions as fanzines.
His circle name is known as おさげ (pigtails), most known to attend Comiket to fans.
Kii Kogami's life has really gone to shit since it started raining Magical Girls. Almost all of his friends are dead, his average, boring life is a memory now, there are roving packs of Magical Girls killing everything that moves and no safe place stays safe very long.
It has to be said; generally super violent apocalypse stories have gotten stale by volume 5. There is only so much horror and blood you can pour into a story before it just stops shocking the reader. That is not the case here! This story has a great mix of horror and humor. The jokes are irreverent and ridiculous but they perfectly balance the horror and gore to keep the story fresh and entertaining.
The plot line of this story keeps advancing at a steady rate. It isn't just rush around just trying to survive the next 5 minutes. The characters are forming bonds and learning about their screwed up world. They have learned the cause of the apocalypse if not the full reasons for it. They may have even found a way to end it and save their world.
The only down side to this series is the big reveal at the end of each volume makes you desperate to read more and you have to wait 3 months for the next part! As always, I highly recommend this series to those of you who enjoy apocalypse tales and horror flicks, but only as long as you aren't squeamish because there is really a lot of gore!

*** Still, I have no luck guessing what's behind the magical girls. I know what 'cause the apocalypse. But, who is "Asuka"? The other personality from Tsukune? She think she knows what's she doing and create all the magical girls? The perv policeman turns out to be useful. He's smart enough to figure out the apocalypse and magical girls. But the answers still in circles with big and bold of "WHO" is the true mastermind? I really enjoyed this volume! See you in the new world!
Giving this one 5 stars, because not only do we keep up the trend of dismantling plot armor, but we also give into it with the now main character. I don’t know what happened but the way he’s powerful now was like such a shoe in and I loved it
This series really has very little going for it. The more it tries to move from a ultraviolent and campy satire into having a real plot, the less I'm liking it. The last page reveal of the villain behind it all had me going, who is that again?
I’m going to open this up again with the fact that this may just be my new favorite manga. I love how they twist the magical girl genre and make it something fresh and new. The story line has really pulled me in and it makes it so it’s hard to put down the book and stop reading.
I love the characters. They all seem like real people and react the way I would expect them too if they existed in real life. Tskune is just fascinating. Seeing her flow through the story is interesting and horrifying at the same time. I found myself actually liking Akuta at several points in the book which actually shocked me. Although Kii isn’t the most, interesting character I do like how his story turned out as well here. Most of the magical girls are kind of just there but the parasite one is amazing. Not as many deaths in this book but the ones that happened were tragic.
The art style has gone back to its old self unfortunately. During the action scenes it can be incredibly difficult to figure out what’s going on. I could mostly puzzle it out but I have to admit there were some panels where I didn’t know what was happening at all.
And boy that ending. I thought another issue of this ended on a cliff hanger but this was way bigger. You do get an explanation for some of the things that have been going on but end up walking away with even more questions than you started with.
Overall I still highly recommend this series. It’s a wonderful horror manga and I see all mature horror and manga fans just loving it. Almost no fan service that I noticed but boy howdy do they step up heir game with the blood and gore. Looking forward to reading the next one.
¿Para qué leer Magical Girl of the end 5?
Kogami must choose between the death of his friend or the death of millions of people.
I'm glad I stuck with this series. The time travel twists are slowing beginning to make sense and there seems to be a solid story arc in place. Akuta (aka 'Rapey Cop') has a large role in this volume as he becomes kind of like a Magical Girl. I still have trouble sometimes figuring out what's going on in some panels, usually when the action has accelerated and the artwork grows blunter and dark. I'll definitely be reading the next volume.
This series is seriously gross. I didn’t really care much about the gore (and it is super gory) but there are multiple rape attempts/scenes and one of the main characters is a necrophilic rapist and pedophile. This series is frankly disgusting and you shouldn’t waste your time on it or anything else the author has written. How the hell did this get published???
Okay, it's getting a little confusing but the method and theory behind it is pretty neat? Idk. All I can say is this series is really interesting and the way it's going I can say a lot is about to change. Some characters die and come back to life, but they have a purpose and it keeps the story going.
Ok, I think it's lost me. Like I think I might continue this but this has gotten to the point that I think any action manga has, when theres so much action going on it becomes cluttered and really hard to read. Also the magical girl on the cover looks like Cruella Deville, and I just needed to get that out there.
Things are starting to seriously spiral out of control and have stopped making sense officially. But I've already bought the next few volumes so I guess I'll just see where it leads.
I certainly did not expect to enjoy this series as much as I am. I thought the concept was fun, if not a bit ridiculous, but I've been presented with something ingeniously solid and entertaining. I mean, it's the apocalypse... with extremely unbeatable magical girls with insane super powers! It's gory, it's smart, it's tense! And it doesn't shy away from character development. Plenty of times with apocalypse/action scenarios, the characters are never fleshed out (oh, geez, that could be a bad pun). Every "main" in this series has their story, has their moment, and they're all genuinely fighting for the world, if not for each other. Some characters are a bit warped, but hey.. that's bound to happen. The cop is actually turning around rather nicely, despite his unsavory personality. The art work is simply phenomenal. If you can handle the blood and dismemberment, check out this guy's artwork. Just amazing.
And the twists on top of cliffhangers? Mind blown. Can't wait for more of this.
I kind of have the feeling that at this point things are going to get much more confusing. They are probably going to continue even though it's totally unnecessary. They should have concluded the story in this volume. the continuation just seems forced. I mean I'm probably going to continue buying the next vol. the obsessed otaku I am but still.... Like brooo it was REALLY good and the idea is so well thought and unique but... it gotta stop at some point. Even though I would want it to continue forever (maybe not forever because that would mean I would watch A LOT of people die over and over again but you get what I mean) it's dragging on ! So please awesome mangaka have something realllyyyy epic in store for us so I can continue enjoying this badass manga. And PS : Kentaro Sato I'm apologizing in advance for basically saying that your next volumes are unnecessary even though I'm going to like them :) *sigh* well that was my longest review on this page so far ! hope no one is going to take it serious even though no one will probably ever see this review anyway. Whatever. Bye ^_______^
Seemed more disjointed than the previous. Also sort of feels like the author was scraping the bottom of the barrel for a plot twist. I'm not sure how I feel about where this book left the whole end of the situation. I have a few predictions on where the end of this story will be when the series finally finishes.
I hate to say it, but Akuta might be the most interesting character in the series so far. I was fascinated by his transformation and ability to use whatever means necessary to get the information he needs. Things really build to a climax, and wow, what an ending to the volume!
A weird, kind of creepy, okay a lot of creepy but fast paced, type series. And yet you want to keep reading to know what happens next. Its that good. Also again, that art style.
