Werewolf: The Apocalypse is about anger over the loss of what the shapeshifting Garou hold dearest: Gaia, the Earth itself. Corruption from without and within has caused the destruction not only of the Garou's environment, but also of their families, friends and culture, which extends in an unbroken line to the very dawn of life. No matter how righteously the Garou hold themselves, no matter how they prey on their destroyers, the corruption spreads. Now the time for reconciliation is past. This grave insult against Gaia can end in only one way: blood, betrayal... and rage.
This Changing Breed Book details the society of the wereravens.
By day, Richard Dansky works as a professional video game designer and writer for Red Storm/Ubisoft, with credits on games like Splinter Cell: Blacklist. By night, he writes fiction, with his most recent book being the short fiction collection SNOWBIRD GOTHIC. Richard lives in North Carolina with his wife and their inevitable cats, books, and collection of single malt whiskys.
White Wolf does a lot of research into mythology, religion, paganism, shamanism - just to name a few - to get their ideas and concepts for the worlds which they create and offer you to play with. In the Corax you find a breed of scouts and tricksters, gaias security cams. There is little that can be hidden from the one breed of shapeshifters which is able to fly, and this is their greatest task: Find things out, drag them into the light and make them seen. It is dangerous to be curious for a living. But interesting.
As with the other changing breeds, I believe these are best left for the game-master or at rare occasions available for one of the players. You just can't play Werewolf without a proper pack - I speak from experience. So, cool and intriguing as the Corax are, they are simply not made to hang out with anybody, let alone any group, for more than a few days at most. They run on gut-instinct and quick reflexes. Entangling either of those with social bonds is a quick ticket to the grave for a Corax.
Keep that in mind, and you might find the right spot in your story to make them truly shine.
A very fine addition for WtA Changing Breed books. This one told the niceties, endless curiosity and grim details of the Wereravens, explorers, wanderers, jesters and messengers of Gaia. Very interesting characters for play!
