Literally one of the best book series I have ever read and that is saying something because I like so much. The story line was amazing and the characters were all very complex, definitely a must-read.
Book 1: Alice gets in a car wreck... and somehow both of her parents are outside the car. She sees something eating her mom. In the hospital she meets Kat. ( an awesome character, by the way) long story short: meets a guy, finds out zombies are real but spiritual, and an ex of the guy threatens her. Awesome!
i devoured these in middle school and did a quick re-read before donating them. so good when you're reading them, but the writing is cheesy when you've moved on
I read only the first three books, but I wasn't going to right three reviews and basically say the same thing for each.
First, a thanks to Gena Showalter, I am so happy that she created this book series, which allowed me to read it. I absolutely loved what I read so far and can't wait to read the rest. Thanks.
The very first book drew me in with only the strange way Ali's parents act and why her father was scared to leave the house at night. I don't think I even put down the book until it was finished. I also instantly fell in love with Cole and know that most people will as well. He's mysterious and intimidating and absolutely hot. Kat I would love to be friends with because of her quirky personality and how she doesn't mind calling people out.
The second book was even better than the first and a must read. It mixes my feelings and made me pity Ali. When Ali needs Cole the most, he withdraws himself and acts strangely. No body believes Ali when she sees herself as a zombie when she looks in a mirror. As Zombie Alice get stronger, she starts manifesting outside of Ali, driving Ali insane. Cole finally comes to his senses when he discovers the traitor and comes around to Ali again. Zombie Alice gets stronger inside Ali without notice and at the end all the slayers use their fire to destroy ZA. Great book.
In the third book, well I'll let you guys decide what you like about that. I'm just upset Kat had to die and become a zombie. It brought tears to my eyes to no longer have Kat and reading Frosty's grievances.
Once again thank you Gena! I absolutely loved what I read so far.

This series is one of my ultimate all time favourites! With words to describe the way I get lost in this book or the way I fall in love with each of the characters each time I reread it. It is hands down the most inspiring, heartwarming novel ever - given the fact that the way Showalter has developed the characters over the plot in such a glorifying read continuously puts me in awe. I wish I wrote this series, then again I might as well have given the fact that I basically know each word from cover to cover. SPOILER AHEAD may Kat forever Rest In Peace <3
these books were beautiful. i fell in love with the characters by the 2nd chapter of the book. some may not like zombies but honestly theres more to these books than just zombies. thankful for authors like Gena Showalter!
Amazing series. 😍 Couldn't put it down. Highly recommend it. Man it kept me on the edge and I loved that. Plan on rereading it this year. Abostly need this in a movie or tv show because I would be intrigued by how it's showed case. 5 star boxset
This series is a must read if you love a lot of paranormal action with a touch of romance. The story is original and I couldn't put it down. If you're expecting it to relate to the fairytale, it really doesn't. It doesn't need to because it is phenomenal either way!
I'm normally not a zombie, but because this was Gena Showalter, I gave it a shot. I've read it twice, and I'm considering a third!! Very inspired, and I hope she revisits this idea again someday!
This was a grate series all the twists and turns really kept you on your feet and they ended the series with a Chance of another book which hopefully they make.
