My geek-ish heart was all over the place with happiness when I received this book. As a foodie and book nerd I have always tried to replicate similar dishes as seen in my favorite books and shows. My daughter made fish stick and custard when we watched Dr. Who. Not the greatest of tastes, we made it with vanilla custard. Yeah imagine that now. LOL I have been saved because there is an edible version in this book that looks the part and tastes fabulous. There are drinks alcoholic and not, snacks, entrées, desserts and some ideas for set up. You want to try the Butter Beer, it is so good.
This book is fun and filled with easy to make recipes great for parties, game nights, book clubs, Scout meetings, political rallies, office parties any event where you want to add fun to the table and see who gets it.
A great gift choice for those hard to buy for people.

I have yet to try any of the receipts, so this review is just for the book's contents.
Have you ever wanted to throw a theme party? Or just wanted to throw together a special dinner for you geek girlfriend/boyfriend? Now you can!
How about starting the dinner with a nice Slurm from Futurama or if you want to get your significant other in special mood an alcoholic beverage like a Romulan Ale.
Some snacks and appetizers is a must; Perhaps he/she/they are a Doctor Who fan? Some Fish Fingers and Custard or Lembas from LOTR. Hell why not some Spoo (Babylon 5)
Now for dinner; a nice Lamb Stew with Plums just the way Katniss wants it. Perhaps you are really lucky and have gotten yourself some Star Trek fans over for dinner or have a girlfriend/boyfriend that is a Trekkie then you can serve Plomeek Soup.
As for the entrée, if you have started with the Plommek Soup why not cook some Gagh, a dish that any fun loving Klingon love.
Now we have come to my favorite part of the book; Cakes and Cupcakes and boy here we have some real treats. How about some Lemon cake (A Song of Ice and Fire) or Butter Cakes (Silent Hill) or some Cauldron Cakes, or all three of them?
Everyone still hungry for more, how about a dessert? Some Turkish Delight straight out of Narnia, they are so good you will betray your siblings for them. Or some Pumpkin Pasties that would make any Harry Potter fan overjoyed with happiness?

Cassandra Reeder’s The Geeky Chef Cookbook is a fun collection of unique recipes which are inspired by popular media like Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games and The Legend of Zelda. I love Reeder’s writing style and the detailed recipe instructions. I also like the pictures but I would have liked to see all the finished food as well as a more exciting book design.
The book features recipes inspired by various media like books (Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia), movies (The Avengers, The Big Lebowski), TV series (Serenity, The X-Files), and games (World of Warcraft and The Legend of Zelda). This collection features a wide range of foods: there’s recipes for ice cream, pancakes, soups, sandwiches, pies, pastries and more! Eat your way into the world of Breaking Bad with Los Pollos Hermanos Chicken, treat yourself to Harry Potter’s Cauldron Cakes, or have Adventure Time’s Bacon Pancakes for brunch. Or, if you want something a little more complicated or unusual, whip up Mass Effect’s Calamari Gumbo or Earthbound’s Peanut Cheese Bars or maybe even some people-free Soylent Green!
The recipes are clearly detailed and easy-to-follow. I love Reeder’s light and witty humour which gives a lovely touch to an already wonderful cookbook! Each recipe begins with a great brief introduction about the media that inspired it. Most of the dishes are simple and feature common pantry staples. However, for the more adventurous, there are some slightly more complicated dishes with fun specialty ingredients like high energy plankton, herring, and squid!
Many of the recipes are accompanied by lovely full-colour pictures. However, I really would have liked photos of all the finished dishes. I like the themed photos which often subtly reflect the media they are inspired by. But, some pictures are a little generic and I couldn’t immediately figure out the associated media. Also, this book is so quirky that I wish that the layout had been as fun as the unique recipes. The recipes would have been nicely elevated by a more vibrant design.
The Geeky Chef Cookbook is a fantastically fun and unique recipe book. I love Reeder’s other books and this one did not disappoint at all! I can’t wait to pick up a physical copy to add to my cookbook collection!

I always like it when people take something they like, in this case food, and look in a lot of different places how other people are dealing with it. In the geeky chef cookbook, accompanying the blog, there is a collection of foods, both savory and sweet that has links with many fandoms.
The recipes often look great, but what I particularly liked about this cookbook, except for the research that went into designing foods that have something very meagre descriptions in the works they originate from, was the sheer number of different fandoms that the book touches upon. I think it is simply impossible, if you even slightly identify as geeky, to not find at least some of your favorites here.
I haven’t made any of the recipes myself, although I really want to make those lemon cakes from ASOIAF, the cake from Portal, and the cauldron cakes from HP. Apparently, I’m more of a sweet tooth than I give myself credit from.

I'm proud to be a geek and I've spent half of my adult life working in restaurants; I've worked as a bartender, a chef, a hospitality manager and a party planner and I'm familiar with ALL of the material that was used as inspiration for this book. When I saw this book I instantly purchased it because I sooooo wanted to love it. Unfortunately, it leaves a lot to be desired.
A better title for this cookbook would be FOOD TO DYE FOR.
Do you want to make SLURM form Futurerama? Me too, until I discover that it requires green food dye. How about Blue Milk from Star Wars? Oh wait, more added food coloring! Surely the author could have come up with something to add to Red Potion to make it red.....NOPE, just add Red Dye Number 40 ( the same one that is finally being removed from the "food" that is marketed to our children here in the States). Oooh, a recipe for Vampire' s Blood! Perfect for Halloween! To make it just be sure that your kitchen is stocked with BOTH red AND yellow food dye. Scary!
This book did inspire me to geek out in the kitchen, however, I'll be mixing up my own concoctions.

I enjoyed this cute little cookbook that offers a huge assortment of very authentic seeming fantasy recipes for foods from famous movies, TV shows and video games. It was my kids who really loved it, though. My 16 y/o was excited by some of the offerings for his favorites like Zelda, while my 8 y/o was happy with recipes for Minecraft, My Little Pony and others.
There are color photos of each recipe, and the author really went out of her way to make the recipes really match the flavors of whatever the reference recipe was. We will have to heavily modify them in our family (I cook vegetarian and gluten free), but we can do that with many of the recipes. They are pretty heavy on wheat and meat, and some are rather labor intensive. It's great fun, though, and there is a big range of shows, movies and games.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.
There are color photos of each recipe, and the author really went out of her way to make the recipes really match the flavors of whatever the reference recipe was. We will have to heavily modify them in our family (I cook vegetarian and gluten free), but we can do that with many of the recipes. They are pretty heavy on wheat and meat, and some are rather labor intensive. It's great fun, though, and there is a big range of shows, movies and games.

I’m a huge geek, so when I saw this book, I knew I had to read it. I mean, geeky recipes inspired by fantasy works? Sign me up! It’s such a cute book full of fun recipes inspired by a variety of fantasy works. I love that there are dishes inspired by books, movies, games, and television shows.
Each recipe is accompanied by the name of the fantasy that inspired by along with a short description of what inspired it. Most of the recipes include a picture, and many of them are truly mouthwatering. I can’t wait to make some of these! I do wish that all the recipes included a picture of the completed dish, but it’s not a must. I’ve read books that didn’t have a single picture, so I can’t complain much.
I think it’s a great book with a nice variety of fun and tasty sounding foods. I particularly enjoyed the recipes inspired by fantasy works that I’m a fan of. However, I am interested in many of the recipes regardless of how well I know about what inspired them. I’m very excited to try some of these recipes out and have fun making them!

Almost every fandom imaginable can be found here. Including Buffy, if only for a split second for, well, Blood. And she refers to Twilight as "the T word" which HA!
Multiple Firefly references, too. Stop bribing me, Reeder, you grabbed me early on.
I want to make so many of these. No joke. From a GoT Bowl o'Brown to Harry Potter Treacle Tart. The recipes vary wildly in skill level, but her descriptions and ingredient lists are not terribly hard to follow.
What really impressed me is, with all of these recipes she's developed, she explains the nutritional information on the vitamin-packed ingredients she's included in each.
Seriously, such a fun and fantastic book.

Calling all fellow geeks out there!! Have you ever pondered how the food from your favorite TV shows, movies and video games would taste? Here is your chance to experience what was once a mystery! This book is full of unofficial recipes from Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, The Legend of Zelda...just to name a few. I am a self proclaimed geek and I squealed with joy upon opening this wondrous collection of recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures that accompany them are staged wonderfully. This could give you many ideas for throwing a party and decorating it as well. Don't pass this cookbook by!

I hope this cookbook helps you, dear reader, to make some tasty adventures for yourself - and maybe throw some really awesome LARP partiesCassandra Reeder has always loved food inspired by books, movies and other works of fiction. On evening, as she played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, she came across a special soup (Yeto's Superb Soup) that she needed to heal a yeti.
Later that night, she decided to make the soup only to realize that there wasn't a recipe across the whole of the internet (the internet was a bit smaller back then). She decided the lack of Yeto's Superb Soup recipes was practically criminal and thus her blog (https://www.geekychef.com/) was born.
A few years later, she assembled all of her best recipes into a cookbook.
In this cookbook, we have seven main sections - Beverages, Alcoholic Beverages, Snacks and Appetizers, Soups and Stews, Entrees, Cakes and Cupcakes, and Desserts.
Each section has six to thirteen recipes, ranging from uber popular franchises like Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings to videogames like Bioshock and Portal. There's recipes from books such as The Hunger Games, and Redwall as well as from TV shows like Futurama and Doctor Who.
Normally, having such a wide range of source material makes a cookbook feel disjointed but Reeder does a really lovely job of providing a blurb before each recipe to explain both the franchise and the inspiration surrounding the food.
I appreciated having those paragraphs before the recipes to help me contextualize Figgins from Discworld or Gagh from Star Trek.
Even for franchises that I was familiar with, it was fun to read about why Reeder chose to highlight Bacon Pancakes from Adventure Time or Mudder's Milk from Firefly.
The flavors, ingredients and cooking process varies wildly (as one would expect for a cookbook that spans so many franchises). I will say that this is more of a 'make a lot of food across many franchises for a party' sort of cookbook rather than 'plan a cohesive meal'.
That being said, this does look like a rather fun cookbook and I was impressed by the time and effort she put into it!

If ever a cookbook spoke to me, it would be this one. The title alone had me. But then, seeing the cover sporting images of the Tardis from Doctor Who, and the Vulcan hand salute from Star Trek just to name two (my favorites), I knew I couldn’t turn back.
Author Cassandra Reeder has brought together fun and out of this word recipes based on the wonderful geeky worlds of Sic-Fi and Fantasy. THE GEEKY CHEF COOKBOOK: Real-Life Recipes For Fantasy Foods covers shows/stories/games that will have fans tying on their favorite show geeky aprons, and heading to the galley/mess hall to get their cook on.

While there are some references that I, self-proclaimed nerdy geek, didn’t know, I just didn’t care. Each one was so much fun. I admire the author for making these strange, unearthly dishes into something for all of us to enjoy.
My one complaint, as it often is with cookbooks, there weren’t enough photos! I get that the more photos, the more the books costs to make and for us to buy, but I’m bummed that I don’t know what the finished product of some these creations look like. That aside, THE GEEKY CHEF COOKBOOK is a must have for sic-fi/fantasy/gamer/animation fans everywhere!

Full Review on The Candid Cover
The Geeky Chef Cookbook by Cassandra Reeder is a perfect sidekick to any fan’s kitchen. This cookbook has a wealth of recipes for so many of your favourite T.V. shows, movies, and video games. I liked the recipes in the book. I found that they were simple, and some are easy to veganise. The range of fandoms that could create yummies from it is vast. Can't wait to try more of the recipes.

I mean, what is Harry Potter without the constant mention of treacle tart, really? Or the twelfth Doctor without his fishfingers and custards?
Which means that I could not be more excited that there is a book for people like me. To re-make, re-live and be part of their favourite fantasy world through the fabulousness that is good food.
And holy guacamoly is Cassandra doing a good job. If anyone here is not familar with her blog, why not? Please check it out right after this review. And after you've ordered this cook book.
First off, this book is just lovely to look at. It is designed in a simple style but makes my nerdy heart sing whenever there is a colourful silhouette of a snitch. Secondly, Cassandra is doing an absolute wonderful job reeling the reader/chef into the recipes by starting them off with relatable anecdotes. I honestly grinned to myself more than once, thinking "yep, that's it!"
Now, I am an absolute noob in the kitchen, but most of the recipes are so simple and great that even I can do them and they look AMAZING (my personal favourite are the Pumpkin Pasties, SO GOOD!), which means that you definitely have no excuse not trying these out. The pictures along want to make you be really good at cooking, I promise you.
Lastly, I have seen that Cassandra does have tips on making the dishes veggie or even vegan (at least some of them) - at least on her blog, which I highly appreciate.
If I had to say something negative at all, then it would be that there are no iZombie recipes in this book. But that is not negative after all because this can be taken as my appeal to Cassandra to maybe create a whole iZombie cookbook! Every episode starts off with Liv cooking, after all (pretty, pretty, pretty please?)
So all that's left to say is: get your cosplays and aprons ready and COOK!

Let me start out by saying that, as a vegan, what drew me to The Geeky Chef Cookbook wasn't so much the recipes as the intersection of food and pop culture. Two of my favorite things, made exponentially better when mashed up together!
I wouldn't exactly call myself a chef, but I do love to play with my food, and I'm no stranger to veganizing and recipie-zing (is that a word? can we make it one?) foods from my favorite books and television shows. To wit: last year's VeganMoFo theme, Carbs & Rec, in which I blogged foods found in and inspired by the always-awesome Parks & Recreation (may she rest in peace). There were Mac & Cheese Pizzas, Meat Tornadoes, Champion’s Peanut Butter Oatmeal Birthday Biscuits, You Just Got JAMMED! Kolaches, and of course waffles galore.
One of these years, I'd love to do a His Dark Materials theme, but the pressure! It's so intense! I want everyone to love Lyra and Will and Mary and Iorek as much as I do! I'd even settle for half as much. I feel like it's my chance to introduce some vegans and veg-curious peeps to this amazing alternate universe, and I don't want to screw it up.
Anyway. My point is: Pop culture and food? Totally my jam. Even though I thought it unlikely that I'd actually make anything from The Geeky Chef Cookbook - or at least precisely as directed - I suspected I might enjoy it anyway, maybe even come away with some new ideas and a list of recipes to veganize.
And it's a really cute cookbook! A little on the short side, maybe, with a little more than 60 recipes, but lots of fun nonetheless. The recipes are loosely organized into seven categories: non-alcoholic beverages; alcoholic beverages; snacks and appetizers; soups and stews; entrees; cakes and cupcakes; and desserts.
Many recipes include a photos; however, since I was reading this on a Kindle, it's difficult to really get a feel for the aesthetics of the physical book. I know that many cookbook aficionados prefer glossy pages and lush, mouthwatering photos; from where I sit, the book looks pretty text-heavy. That said, the Kindle version is quite usable: easy to browse, with no weird formatting issues, etc.
Reeder pulls her inspiration from a multitude of sources: books, movies, television shows, and video games. If you haven't heard of a certain title, don't despair: Reeder includes a brief synopsis of each piece of media - and the food's place in it - in the recipe intro. While most of the source material only has one associated recipe, there is a little repetition (Star Trek, Legend of Zelda, and Harry Potter receive the most attention).

I guess your feelings on the breakdown will depend largely on your fandom allegiances. I would have liked to see a little more variety, maybe limiting each book/show/video game to one recipe per and including a wider variety of media. I can't lie, it severed ye ole daemon (just a touch!) to see His Dark Materials overlooked (marzipan! make something with marzipan!) while The Chronicles of Narnia made the cut. I was pleasantly surprised by some of literary references (The Dragonriders of Pern; The Dark Tower). Ditto: the television shows and movies that don't immediately scream "geeky!" (South Park, Pulp Fiction).
There are also three "generic" recipes for blood (vampires), red potions (video games), and mead (misc. geek) that I thought were pretty fun and creative.
Happily, many of the recipes are easily veganized by swapping out the animal-derived ingredients for a vegan version. Exhibit A: I've already made my own version of the "Bacon Pancakes" without realizing their connection to Adventure Time - it's as simple as taking your own favorite pancake recipe and throwing some pan-fried Lightlife bacon in there. Vegans even get a shout-out in "Blue Milk" - which basically sounds like a beautiful blue ice cream shake, btw.
Some of the entrees and soups and stews require a little more creativity, though; I'm not aware of a prepackaged, plant-based version of lamb ("Lamb Stew with Plums"), for example. And the "Big Kahuna Burger" involves making patties from scratch; I could probably adapt an existing quinoa cake recipe so that they include the appropriate seasonings and toppings, but that feels like too much work. Easier to start with a pre-made patty and use everything important as toppings.
Reeder cautions that some of the recipes include hard-to-find ingredients, but everything looked fairly normal to me. (Maybe our standards just differ, since I'm used to frequenting three different specialty stores and then combing the 'net for everything I still can't find.) The instructions are straightforward and nothing seems too terribly complicated, although some of the more involved recipes are best left to intermediate+ cooks - or beginners who are super-motivated and don't mind getting their hands (and kitchens!) dirty.

The fun-ness of this book is its saving grace. Several recipes are obviously just filler recipes to beef up the book. Some ingredients would work better in some recipes. Example: Blue Milk from Star Wars uses blueberry and food food coloring. To me, this is kind of a cop out. For milk, taro would be a better match and add some blueberry for color. Then she turns what’s supposed to be milk into a milkshake by adding vanilla ice cream. 🤷♂️ Then there’s the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster from Hitchhiker’s Guide. This drink well, it’s POTENT. Missed opportunity to use overproof liquors here. I’m not one for excessive drinking, but making a stiff drink STIFF when mimicking the strongest drink in the galaxy should be the way to go.
I’m probably being super picky, but most of these recipes are just things one can surmise on his/her own. Nothing that stands out. Still, I love the concept and Reeder knows the difference between a geek and a nerd. 🤓

Calling all Geeks!! What an awesome cookbook, who would think that you could get the same food that is in your most favorite geeky shows, such as Star Wars, Harry Potter and even Dr.Who? Well with this cookbook you can. The first chapter is Beverages, non alcoholic. Blue Milk from Star Wars, Red Potion from various video games such as The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft and World of Warcraft. Another beverage is Butter Beer from Harry Potter and of course it would not be complete without a "Blood" recipe from your favorite vampire shows. On to alcoholic recipes to add a bit of spice to your marathon watching geeky shows party.
Snacks and Appetizers come next. Such names, Figgins, Spoo, Cheese buns have the tastebuds tingling. Then of course my favorite is Soylent Green. If you have not seen this cheesy classic movie, then you are missing out for sure. There are recipes for soups and stews, entrees, cakes and cupcakes and desserts. There are varying degrees of difficulty in the recipes, some pretty simple, others pretty labor intensive. I would like to see nutritional information, but that is just me.
In the introduction, the author tells us how the idea for this book came to be. A great cook should follow their own instincts, according to Cassandra Reeder, make substitutions, add in whatever strikes your geeky soul. I think I will be trying Dragonbreath Chili...just the name sounds fiery. With each recipe the author lets the reader know a bit about where the the recipe was inspired from. Of course with the chili, I will have to tame it down a bit as hubby and I are upward in years and all that spice will certainly hurt our innards. But I sure want to try it. Another recipe that I want to try is 1Up Mushroom Cupcakes from....yup Super Mario Bros my favorite of all time game.

Ingredients

1/4 cup butterscotch sauce
2 tablespoons whipped butter,
room temperature 1 1/2 cups vanilla cream soda
Directions
Combine evaporated milk, butterscotch topping, and butter in a glass heatproof measuring cup.
Heat in microwave for 1 minute.
Remove and stir until butter has melted and incorporated into mixture.
Meanwhile heat cream soda in another heatproof measuring cup for 1 minute 30 seconds.
Divide butterscotch mixture between 2 (10 to 12-ounce) mugs.
Fill mugs with heated cream soda and stir thoroughly.
Serve garnished with a cinnamon stick or an old-fashioned butterscotch candy stick.

I am going to include the recipe for Butter Beer to get you guys started. This recipe is NOT from the book but from the authors website...this recipe looks pretty basic and the one in the cookbook looks much better, but this still gives you an idea
Ingredients
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup butterscotch sauce
2 tablespoons whipped butter,
room temperature 1 1/2 cups vanilla cream soda
Directions
Combine evaporated milk, butterscotch topping, and butter in a glass heatproof measuring cup.
Heat in microwave for 1 minute.
Remove and stir until butter has melted and incorporated into mixture.
Meanwhile heat cream soda in another heatproof measuring cup for 1 minute 30 seconds.
Divide butterscotch mixture between 2 (10 to 12-ounce) mugs.
Fill mugs with heated cream soda and stir thoroughly.
Serve garnished with a cinnamon stick or an old-fashioned butterscotch candy stick.

Snacks and Appetizers come next. Such names, Figgins, Spoo, Cheese buns have the tastebuds tingling. Then of course my favorite is Soylent Green. If you have not seen this cheesy classic movie, then you are missing out for sure. There are recipes for soups and stews, entrees, cakes and cupcakes and desserts. There are varying degrees of difficulty in the recipes, some pretty simple, others pretty labor intensive. I would like to see nutritional information, but that is just me.
In the introduction, the author tells us how the idea for this book came to be. A great cook should follow their own instincts, according to Cassandra Reeder, make substitutions, add in whatever strikes your geeky soul. I think I will be trying Dragonbreath Chili...just the name sounds fiery. With each recipe the author lets the reader know a bit about where the the recipe was inspired from. Of course with the chili, I will have to tame it down a bit as hubby and I are upward in years and all that spice will certainly hurt our innards. But I sure want to try it. Another recipe that I want to try is 1Up Mushroom Cupcakes from....yup Super Mario Bros my favorite of all time game.

The Geeky Chef Cookbook is one of a pair of fandom based recipe collections by Cassandra Reeder, the Geeky Chef. Originally published in 2015, this second edition, released 14th April 2020 by Quarto on their Race Point imprint, is 160 pages and available in hardcover and ebook formats.
I am really impressed and mildly amazed at the broad array of food from a very broad array of literary and cultural icons as disparate as Babylon5, Discworld, TMNT, Hunger Games, Zelda, HP, Minecraft and so many more.
The recipes themselves are easy to read and understand. They include a header bar along with prep info, yields and a description. Ingredients are listed bullet point in a sidebar. Measurements are given in US standard measures with metric measures in parentheses. Preparation instructions are enumerated step by step. Substitutions and alternative preparation or serving information are given in a footer bar at the end of the recipe.
The book includes a cross referenced index which lists individual ingredients (and authors/literary references). The photography and illustration included in the book are -wonderful-, and the nerdy geeky commentary is amazing. The author is a geek, indeed.
Really really worthwhile effort and a great collection. This would elevate the next D&D or LAN or geeky movie night, or book club (when we're allowed to safely gather again) to the next level for sure.

I read this cover to cover, as I heard the suggestion that cook books are a great thing to read for comfort in these days of pandemic. I will certainly admit that someone else's geek can me different from my geek, and we all have different things that stand out or sci-fi series that we love. First off, there was far too much food coloring used in these recipes. There are natural ways that food gets color! I use turmeric in lots of recipes (soups and other things) for a delicious, savory flavor, so there's no reason you need to add yellow food coloring to a soup. Not sure why bubbly pies were missed from Pern, either, particularly when you had klah. And providing a recipe for mead that is not actual mead is just nonsense. I remember making a honey-lemon mead from an SCA recipe years ago that did not require extensive brewing equipment, and something like that would have been fine. Also, there were too damn many recipes for weird milks. I mean, I get that apparently there are a lot of them in sci-fi and gaming worlds, but 5 different ones in a book this size is too many. Maybe pick 2.
Generally, though, the write-ups were entertaining, and it made me curious about the author's blog. I'd give the book 4 stars for the write-ups and pictures, 2 for the selection of recipes.

Calling all fellow geeks out there!! Have you ever pondered how the food from your favorite TV shows, movies and video games would taste? Here is your chance to experience what was once a mystery! This book is full of unofficial recipes from Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, The Legend of Zelda...just to name a few. I am a self proclaimed geek and I squealed with joy upon opening this wondrous collection of recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures that accompany them are staged wonderfully. This could give you many ideas for throwing a party and decorating it as well. Don't pass this cookbook by!

This book is so cool! It has the big recipes from each fandom - butterbeer, lembas bread, the one-up mushrooms from Mario, you name it.
I made the lemon cakes for the Game of Thrones finale and they turned out really moist and yummy, sort of like lemon corn bread. I tweaked the recipe a bit and made them into mini muffins so people could just grab them off the buffet table. Everyone loved them! Can't wait to try some more recipes.

This brilliant book is filled with easy to follow recipes from, and inspired by, our favorite geek loved television shows, movies, books, and video games. However, the illustrative photographs were amateurish and left a lot to be desired. I was approved for this eARC through Edelweiss in return for an honest review.

Loved this!
I consider myself to be fairly geeky, but after reading this book, I realize there's a whole bunch of fandoms I was previously unaware of. And I totally have some book and movie recommendations now!
I enjoyed the excerpts before each recipe, and I'm excited to try some of them out! But where to start?!?

A cookbook full of foods that are featured in all our favourite geeky books and movies. So think Star Wars, Harry Potter, Dr Who, Lord of the Rings and many more. Lots of fun and a few new foods to try. My biggest surprise was that the custard in fish fingers and custard was savoury and not sweet.

Delicious range of recipes from tv, gaming, cartoons and books. Very creative and visually appealing with explanations of the series for the uninitiated. Can't wait to try some of these out!
