Mega langweilig und der Humor in diesem Buch (ich liebe Sarkasmus und schwarzen Humor) will einfach nicht zünden. Ich habe kein einziges Mal gelacht (nach 250 Seiten!), obwohl Koontz durchaus dies beim Leser bezwecken wollte. Nun gut... frustriert abgebrochen.

Wie wunderbar! Die Ausgabe, die ich las war 2016 ein Geschenk von Fonsi. Was mir vorher nicht klar war: sie hat es teilweise annotiert! Es war so wunderbar, die Unterstreichungen und Kommentare zu lesen und teilweise auch ohne Kommentar GENAU zu wissen warum die Passage unterstrichen wurde. 😉❤️ DANKE meine Liebe, für dieses wunderbare, persönliche, ganz besondere Leseerlebnis.
Und ach ja... die Story hat mir auch gefallen.

Dean Koontz habe ich früher immer gelesen, wenn von King gerade nichts greifbar war. Das ist allerdings schon sehr lange her. Nun wirkt dieser Koontz für mich auch sehr aus der Zeit gefallen, obwohl er ja stellenweise immerhin in diesem Jahrtausend spielt. Ich hätte gerne mehr von den Clowns und den Artisten gelesen. So war es für mich eher eine langatmige Liebesgeschichte, aber nicht der erwartete Thrill.

Ich habe dieses Buch schon vor einer ganzen Weile angefangen und hatte es dann beiseite gelegt. Daher musste ich von neuem beginnen. Aber der Schreibstil ist schnell und flüssig, und ich mag den Humor wirklich gerne. Da die 5 schlimmen Tage sich in den Kapiteln wirklich sehr wie fertige Abschnitte anfühlten, fiel es mir schwer weiter zu lesen. Am Ende wirkte die Story auch leicht überzogen. Dennoch würde ich das Buch alleine wegen dem Humor weiter empfehlen.

Obwohl die Geschichte spannend ist und viele Elemente eines Thrillers aufweist, so überwiegt wohl doch der Humor in diesem Dean Koontz-Buch. Er benutzt viele Metaphern und Analogien, die zum Lachen verleiten.
