The fifth funny book in a girly series with a dark twist—cheerleaders, vampires, and cute boys all add up to a killer story with bite Hollywood has come to Franklin Grove! Olivia is very excited. Jackson Caulfield—the hot teen movie star—is shooting a movie in her home town, and there's a chance to win a part in the film. So when she bumps into Jackson and he shows her around the set, she thinks her dreams have come true. Could Jackson possibly be a vampire?
Sienna Mercer grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was an only child, and always wanted a brother or sister – especially a twin. A twin would have been awesome! Sadly, she never got that sister so, when she was grown up, she did the next best thing - she wrote books about a girl who reminded her of herself, and gave her the most fun, fabulous twin she could think of!
Sienna began writing stories when she was a teenager, on a very wet day in Toronto when her cheerleading practice was cancelled - and she has not stopped writing since. She used to write in red leather notebooks while sat on her bed, but now does most of her writing in her attic, which is quite dark, and has some spooky cobwebs in the corners - the perfect location for thinking about vampires. She doesn't use red notebooks anymore, either, although she keeps them in a chest by her desk in the attic.
Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them.
When she's not daydreaming about vampires and cheerleading, Sienna enjoys travelling and exploring new cities, and keeps a detailed scrapbook of everywhere she’s visited. She lives in Toronto, kept company by Calypso and Angel – her two gorgeous cats. She is happily writing away and we wait for her upcoming books!
This one started off really cute with some family bonding, but idk the romance between Jackson and Olivia fell kind of flat for me at some points. Like when she judged him because he wasn't a vegetarian Tho they did have quite a few cute moments that made me happy. Again this book is literally so cheesy that I ended up laughing aloud. I think Ivy's conviction that Jackson was possibly a vampire was a bit far fetched, but I know she just wanted to protect Olivia. I loved seeing Olivia get into acting, I hope she'll keep at it. Ivy and Olivia are also so lucky they have the best friends in the world. I really love Sophia and Camilla.
In the book, my sister the vampire Ivy and Olivia are twin sisters. They are both adopted but what they don’t know is that they are twins because ivy is Goth and a vampire when Olivia is girly and a cheerleader. They also found out that ivy’s adopted dad is her real dad so he is also’s Olivia’s dad. Ivy’s dad is also a vampire so since they found out their dad is trying to spend more time with them but he went on a business trip so ivy is staying at Olivia’s house. In the meantime a star named Jackson comes to town to do a movie and falls in love with Olivia! But ivy thinks he Is a vampire! She tells Olivia and they try to find out!
Since ivy and Olivia are twins I could make a connection to that because I am a triplet. So, I know what it feels like to have someone just you. I am fraternal and my two sisters Madelyn and Tatiana are Identical just like ivy and Olivia. I feel the same way as the character because they do the same exact thing together and my sisters and I kind of do the same things together. like when we were little we used to dress the same.
I recommend this book to girls who like mysterious/dramatic books. Also, girls who are 9-12 years old. I recommend this book because it has a lot of detail and paints a picture in your mind. Also, it has a lot of mystery’s that they solve but sometimes you have to read the next book to find out.
One day there was thesse two twin sisters. There names were Ivy and Olivia.Ivy and Olivia were definietly starstruck.Talented teen senation Jackson Caulfield is shooting a movie down in town and everyone wants a glimpse of a star.Especcially Olivia, who's had a longtime crush on him.Ivy is determined to help her sister meet the adorable actor and actully succeeds. But even as Olivia and Jackson start to really hit it off.Ivy begins to worry that there might be more to that pretty face. Then they bargained for... like fangs.
My favorite character is olivia.Olivia is my favorite because she is nice she is sharing and wears light colors and not just dark colors like Ivy. And last thing is shes human NOT a vampire.A connection of me and Olivia is that were both humans were nice well sometimes she likes backing ilke I do.Last thing is that we both are shy.
I recomend this book to people who like kidish books and who likes drama (girls)and people or kids or teens who like twin sisters that one is a human and the other one thats a vampire but there still sisters.
Another great part of the series, though I did find this one was slower than the others, even as a child. I think it's just the odd pacing? I dunno. There's also the oddness of the characters' ages. The first couple books kept insisting that the girls were 13, but the movie star supposedly their age, a heartthrob?? He felt like he was written older than the girls, especially in the beginning and it felt odd to read about. It felt a lot more natural later in the book, and I know he's perfect as soon as the next couple books. But I keep finding it a bit weird that these characters are put into plots like they're older than they are, but keep insisting that they're younger. I remember I said after the first book when I re-read it that it was a lot easier to see them as 15 or 16 but this one, with Olivia interacting with Jackson, she actually felt as young as she is meant to be. But aside from all that, another good one and I'm looking forward to continuing again :D
Sadly just as I’m enjoying these they are disappearing from my Libby catalog. Olivia gets a boyfriend! Ivy is very protective! Brandon is the sweetest! Ivy’s dad is getting a grip on his past! Olivia’s parents are the most welcoming hippies ever!
I read the book in german. I liked the #1 to the #4 book very much. But this one was not so got the sorry just started and then it was over and nothing really happened! But I thing it's because I read it german and the original is much better?! The last sentence was a open ending vor a #6 book but they don't translate the next books! I'm very sad about that!
"Hollywood has come to Franklin Grove! Olivia is very excited. Jackson Caulfield - the hot teen movie star - is shooting a movie in her home town! And there's a chance to win a part in the film. So when she bumps into Jackson and he shows her around the set, she thinks her dreams have come true. But there's a few things that get her vampire twin Ivy suspicious. Could Jackson possibly be a vampire? It would be Hollywood's biggest secret! But, more importantly, Olivia doesn't want a vampire boyfriend and she's quickly falling for him! It's up to Ivy to do some undercover sleuthing...Sink your teeth into Olivia and Ivy's fifth fright-time adventure." (Amazon.com)
I really really enjoyed reading this book. This is - finally! - the book where we find out who Olivia's love interest is going to be! Honestly, for me, Jackson Caulfield sounds absolutely drop dead and while reading I cant help but smile and feel giddy for Olivia.
The new cover for the and illustration for the book is totally killer! I miss the old one though and what the hell happened to the bunny? It was kind of hard to figure out who's turn was it or who's story was being told. I had to go back a few pages to figure out who's story or who's perspective was the story being told. I really miss the little bunny above the parts where it was Olivia's.
The beginning of the story is really funny. Charles Vega, Olivia and Ivy's "bio-dad" is finally getting to know about his human daughter Olivia and how different the world is for humans than for vampires. That "moment" he had at Mister Smoothies made me laugh out loud, literally. But when he had to go on a business trip - which wasnt really a business trip (his secret will be revealed in the next book, Love Bites, that I am reading right now). I also loved the part where Olivia had to eat for Ivy and herself to avoid Ivy from eating any garlic-infused-bunny-food that Olivia's (adoptive) mom - who doesnt know the existence of vampires - made for her.
But the main focus of the story lies when Ivy, Olivia, and their friends went to the secret vampire diner, Meat & Greet, only to find out that it has been inhabited by Hollywood folks! There, they find Olivia's crush/love interest, Jackson Caulfield, the dreamy good lookin' famous teen star. The problem is that Ivy suspects that he might be a vampire which would ruin the chances of Olivia having a normal boyfriend, so she tries her best to keep that from happening.
This book would definitely make a lot of girls squeal and feel a deep connection to Olivia. I have a feeling that if these books were made into a TV show, this particular "episode" would have on of the highest ratings when it premieres.
I cant believe how fast I'm going in finishing this book series. I'm already on page 127 on book 6. I cant wait to read the other books!
This book My sister the Vampire by Sienna Mercer is a good book about two sisters who live in Franklin Grove Ivy and Olivia were going to the meet and greet with there friends but it was closed because there was going to be a movie there with Olives movie star crush Jackson Caulifeild. When there is a chance to be in the movie Olivia jumps to the chance to get in with Jackson. Olivia wants to see whats going on in the inside of the movie but how was she going to, when they tried the back they meet two guards and one was Jackson and he shows them around and fell in love with Olivia, but Ivy likes the idea of her sister having a boyfriend but is he a vampire also?
I like this book and would recommend it to other girls to read.
I really liked it and admired the two sister's love for each other. I also like how they didn't know about each other for over half of their lives and when they just found out that they both existed, they were told they were to be torn apart yet again. They found out so much about their families and that one girl's dad was also the other girl's dad. It was very hard to believe it at first, and that is a very good thing about the author's style and book.
Questa serie è sempre più carina e dolce. Le due sorelle sono più affiatate che mai, finalmente vediamo un amore anche per Olivia e tutto si avvicina al lieto fine. Non posso credere che manca un solo libro alla fine, sono troppo corti :(
How am I supposed to read this? Someone Help! I have been searching for this book all over the internet and this is the only place where it actually can be read!
