I picked this up at the library to make a Thanksgiving dessert for a family member who is vegan. Pumpkin cupcakes were a hit with the vegan and the non-vegans alike.

I liked that the author wasn't super preachy about her lifestyle. I don't care why you are a vegan - I just want a decent recipe without having to buy too many ingredients I'll never a use again.

I do wish that the author had said that "organic evaporated cane sugar" is just granulated sugar before I spent time roaming up and down the aisles at Whole Foods looking for a product that special vegan ingredient necessary for anything!

This is great for vegans who enjoy the more processed side of vegan eating (ex. tofu, soy, rainforest destroying palm oil butter substitues >.<). Been there, done that, don't recommend it for a long term way of eating veg. A-ok for splurges and the like. There are 2-3 raw vegan dessert recipes included. The COOLEST recipe in the whole book is pictured on the cover. She teaches you how to temper chocolate and then create these adorable little mousse/fruit/whatever the heck you want to throw in 'em bowls by using an inflated balloon! How genius is that?! Once the chocolate is hardened, you simply pop the balloon. Voila! :D

A good book for finding yummy vegan desserts. Would have liked more that were also gluten free.
Still, more than worth the read. Enjoy and have dessert!
