Tsutomu Nihei (弐瓶 勉 Nihei Tsutomu, born 1971) is a Japanese manga artist. His cyberpunk-influenced artwork has gained a strong cult following. He has a relatively large community of fans in Germany where his manga Blame!, NOiSE and Biomega were published by Ehapa. This anthology of ten full-color short tales revisiting Tsutomu Nihei's characters from Blame series in alternative hard sci-fi/horror/school-life parody settings is just as not good as the original manga that inspired them, but a few are excellent ones and the 8th is an amazing coda to Nihei's claustrophobic, dark and iconic manga.

A good alternative/completitionist read if you loved Blame, but that's all.

Its good to jump back into Tsutomu Nihei's works. I love his art style and his storylines.
Some of the stories in this... they were questionable in a way where I was like "what is going on and how much drugz was this man on to think of some of em" 🤣🤣.

Ofc the Blame! Academy stories were awesome. Who wouldn't love seeing Killy as a school boy?😭😭😭

Story 6: Netsphere Engineer
I'm going to assume that this happens before the Blame! story but after the Noise prequel.
WHITE HAIR KILLY CLONE CONFIRMED!!! IM SHOOK! And there's also a girl that he saved that looked a lot like Cibo! they always find each other in different lives 🥳🤭🤭🤭

Story 7: Pump
EWWW WHAT?? disturbing. where and when did bro think of this story.

Story 8: Blame! 8th generation Pcell's Megastructure Escape
Pcell. Emo baddie. We meet again. This time mannyyyy years have passed since we last saw her (she now has short white hair). GUYS... KILLY HAS A REMEMBERED NAME BY ALL. THEY CALL HIM "KILLY THE CALAMITY"!
Pcell gets shot by humans and passed out for 47 years😨🤯 . She wakes and tries to escape THE ENTIRE CITY. AND HERE HERE I THOUGHT IT WAS ENDLESS. She barely makes out and guess who shows. KILLY MY HUSBAND. HE HASN'T AGED A DAYYYYY! She makes it out of the city!!!
You have to see the panel of the city yourself to understand the awesomeness of it.

I loved the stories of the characters I knew, and found the weird ones.. well... weird

A moe school story involving the characters of Blame!? Some other quick stories based in the Blame! universe. A quick Knights of Sodonia tale and some random dystopian Sci-fi.
The moe stories are very weird and honestly not very good, but I think that's the point. The other tales are more along the lines you'd expect.

Really just in it for the one shot sequel for Blame!, but a couple of the other short pieces were cool. It's more just a fun collection of Nihei's one shots, nothing to serious or super enthralling, but still fun.

The “Blame!” Series is pretty good, lots of cool action and interesting art but can’t give a 5⭐️because it lacks in the story👍😁❤️

Ok, this shows how I am not a total manga fan - this one contains short stories related to, in some way, Blame! However, few of the stories are just crazy highschool versions of Blame! playing with classical clichés. It is funny, but certainly not something I would expect from the series. Nevertheless, the few stories that do not follow this wicked path are again building up the universe and show us different aspects of the world which we did not encounter in the main series. Worth a read.

Glénat, who have published most of Tsutomu Nihei's mangas in French, had decided to treat us with this. A little gift for the fans. Nihei's drawings are beautiful as usual, but this time they're in full color. And Glénat has published it in full glazed paper so it's luscious.

There's a character with a ray-gun that, when fired, makes women's clothes fall off.
