FC&A Publishing's "The Kitchen Table Book" is a nifty, useful book full of helpful advice, recommendations and hints. I've heard quite a few of them before, but there are enough new one I was unfamiliar with to make this book worth the cost.
There are a couple really cool recipes, too. Overall, I would recommend this book to people wanting a simple, easy-to-use reference for health and household problems.
Lots of very helpful information on foods and health benefits. I am taking it all in---well written with documentation--definitely worth reading and taking under advisement.
Cures! Potions! Such a fun and easy read. (Disclosure, fun is relative. I love food and the magical medicine that it is.) Read this on a long bus ride as I did, congratulate yourself on how much you already know, pick up a bit of new information, discard what you don't agree with.
Oh my. Have no idea on what basis to provide a rating. Utility? Folklore? Take particular note of the disclaimer and remember that it was produced in the early 21st C.
My grandmother who could cure anything with the contents of her cupboard, and she thoroughly believed "Let food by thy medicine and medicine be thy food." Hippocrates. One of my greatest regrets in life is not paying attention to my grandmother's cures. Thus, when I found this book I was delighted, and I highly recommend this book as a must have kitchen accessory and as a gentle reminder of the power harnessed within the food we consume.
I enjoyed reading these health and household problem solvers. This is not the type of book you read and your done. This one will go on my reference books shelf.
I'm sure some of these things may not work as well as the book proclaims. But their solutions are worth a try, and I bet some of them WILL work.
My grandson gave me this book that he'd bought at a school fundraiser, and this, of course, means that I can keep it always. It's full of health-by-food facts--many of which I am aware and many more of which are..uh..otherwise, and may require 'further reading.' Fun stuff, though!
