We're the D'Artigo sisters: sexy, savvy operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But being half-human, half-Fae means our supernatural talents can go haywire at any time. My sister Camille is a wicked good witch whose life recently took a drastic turn. Menolly's a vampire who's still getting the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Delilah, a werecat with a very interesting love life. But life isn't all fun and games. We're on the trail of the demon general who has decided that we've become quite a nuisance...

It's Samhain, and the Autumn Lord, has called for my training to begin with the Death Maidens...and I find that I like it. But we've got problems: werewolves are going missing and a new magical drug, "Wolf Briar," is being used as a weapon. My dear Chase and I have come to a delicate crossroads and there's no turning back from our decision. And most dangerous of all: Stacia Bonecrusher has put a bounty on our heads. Now it's a race to take out the demon general before she realizes the sixth Spirit Seal is within her reach...

What can I say? This was another fun ride of gorgeous supernatural alpha males, disgusting reprobate villains, delicious meals, emotional angst, additional goals until The Big Goal, revelations of all sorts and mini-fight scenes leading up to the Big Fight Scene.

Delilah is coming into her own. I like her a lot more than in the beginning. Camille is my favorite for lots of reasons besides the three hottie husbands. The fact, like me, she is the oldest holds sway. Now, Kitten--as they fondly call her--has worked her way into my heart. I don't feel sorry for her anymore. Or that she is a liability. And I am thrilled she is moving onto another tier--or two-- in her life. Her confidence is soaring. That ain't all. Now if I say more, I will be giving away spoilers. A no-go here.

I'm disappointed to move on to Menolly's book. Vamp-sis is my least favorite of the three. She is cool and kick-ass in her own right but I don't feel the connection as much. I do like her snarky attitude and fearless approach to slamming the baddies. The worse has happened to her and Menolly does not take anything off anyone.

Until then, I have a long way to go reading this series since there are over 20 books already! That's gravy- Yowza!

Orijinali Kitap Esintisi adresinde.

ps: Seri şu an 18 kitap olarak görünüyor.

I like stories with three sisters as I'm one of three. This book focused on Delilah, the two faced feline. I like the new character, Shadow. These books are starting to become a blend of Buffy mixed with Anita Blake. The three sisters are picking up lovers left and right. Betrayals seem to be a reoccurring theme. I do wish Ms. Galenorn would stop recapping the sisters status and how they came to be. I also wish she would stop recapping the end of the world doom and gloom, who the sisters are fighting against. If readers don't know that they have to read from the beginning of the series, that's their problem, not hers.

Eighth in the Otherworld urban fantasy series revolving around the D'Artigo sisters and their extended family in Seattle.

My Take
I'm not sure if Galenorn is becoming a better writer or if I'm simply enthralled with the storyline. As you can tell by the characters listed below, it's a busy, busy storyline and I love the homeyness of the good guys. It is never boring and I'm looking forward to finding out more about Shade and the father-daughters relationship.

I can't believe it takes this long for Delilah to get that her father is a jerk! Of course, she is going through quite a bit, what with Chase avoiding her. Fortunately, the Autumn Lord is in her corner.

Camille is asking Delilah to take the lead on the hotel problem. Which I just don't get. Every time Delilah becomes frightened she turns into a were-kitty. Can somebody explain this one to me?

This is a useful story as it clears Delilah's love life and sets up the scene for what the Autumn Lord will eventually require. It's also setting us up for some major drama with dad.

The Story
It's Camille's wedding to her third husband, Trillian, as Morio and Smoky stand by. A sweet and romantic moment that falls apart with Chase's nastiness. One that finds Delilah fleeing the house and into her housecat form where all intelligence does not exist. One that leads to a new hairstyle and colors.

The story really picks up when Luke wants to hire Delilah to find his missing sister. The one who escaped her abusive mate. While investigating, Camille and Delilah run across Wolf Briar, a horrible drug that renders any werewolf who inhales it compliant. What's worse is how it's made using werewolf pituitary glands. And it has a short shelf life.

The Characters
The half-fae Camille, the oldest D'Artigo sister, is marrying Trillian, a Svartan with whom she shares a bond. Their wedding is attended by her other two husbands: Morio Kuroyama, a youkai-kitsune demon who teaches her death magic; and, Smoky, a shapeshifting silver-white dragon. She is a Moon Witch and priestess of the Moon Mother who has ordered her to pledge to Aeval's court. Rodney is the bone-man golem given to Morio by Grandmother Coyote. Camille's bookstore, Indigo Crescent, is almost finished and she has hired Giselle, a martial arts she-demon, to run the shop.

Delilah is half-fae and a were-housecat, panther, and the only living Death Maiden bound to an Elemental, the Autumn Lord, Hi'ran, who intends for her to bear his child. Arial is her dead twin who, in her leopard form, watches over Delilah. Greta is the leader of the Death Maidens and Delilah's trainer. Part of a Death Maiden's task is to honor those who died well.

Mennolly is half-fae, half-human, and a vampire and runs the Wayfarer's Grill, a fae bar. She's monogamous with Nerissa Shale, a werepuma belonging to the the Rainier Puma Pride who is running for city council as a bisexual Were. Men don't come into the monogamous ban. Luke is a werewolf who tends bar at the Wayfarer. Amber Johansen is his pregnant sister who fled her abusive husband, Rice, a member of the Zone Red Pack. One known for its extremes.

Chase Johnson is in charge of the Faerie-Human Crime Scene Investigations team as well as chief of detectives. Delilah brought him back to life with the Nectar of Life in Bone Magic and it's changed him. Not for the better. Sharah is an elfin medic with F-HCSI with a secret passion. She's also Queen Asteria's niece. Mallen is another med tech. Officer Yugi is one of Chase's.

Sephreh ob Tanu is their father and the queen's advisor and lover. He's also an intolerant jerk! Shamas ob Olanda is the girls' full-blooded fae cousin and he has been working for the Earthside police. He's trying to make up for their father's actions.

Iris Kuusi is a Talon-haltija (Finnish house sprite) and a Priestess of Undutar who keeps house for the D'Artigo sisters and cares for Maggie, their baby calico gargoyle. She's still seeing Bruce O'Shea, a leprechaun. Vanzir is a dream-chaser demon who lives with Rozurial, an incubus, and Shamas in the backyard studio. Wilbur is their neighbor and a necromancer who spent some time in special ops. He has some info for them about the coyote shifters, the Koyanni, who use Wolf Briar. Martin is his ghoul with a weird master-servant relationship.

Carter is half-demon, half-god---a son of Hyperion, a Greek Titan---and he is the girls' contact with the demonic forces in Earthside. Research is his overt career while spying and tracking what happens Earthside is his real task for the Demonica Vacana Society. Kim is his mute foster daughter.

Exo Reed is a werewolf who runs the Halycon Hotel and Nightclub, which caters to supes of all kinds. Roman is a really scary vampire summoning Mennolly to a vampire ball. Andy Gambit is a bigoted yellow journalist who trespasses. Katrina is with the Olympic Wolf Pack, one of the few matrilineal packs, and is willing to talk. Doug Smith, Paulo Franco, and Saz Star Walker are three werewolves who seem to have disappeared from the scene. Marion is a coyote shifter who runs the Supe-Urban Café who explains the story of Nukpana, a coyote shifter who went bad.

Queen Asteria rules the elves and she has put together the Keraastar Knights, a group of people attuned to the spirit seals which includes Venus the Moon Child, the shaman for the Rainier Puma Pride; Tam Lin; and Benjamin Welter. Trenyth Vesalya is an elfin assistant to Asteria. In this story he has an awful task with some bright notes. Of the Earthside courts, Morgaine is the Queen of the Twilight Court, Aeval is Queen of the Unseelie, and Titania is Queen of the Seelie.

The Death Maidens include Eloise, Lissel, Fiona, and Mizuki and they live in Haseofon; Arial lives with them. Shade is a chosen of the Autumn Lord, a shadow dragon---half black dragon and half-Stradolan which allows him to work shadow and illusion.

Shadow Wing is a demon lord determined to acquire the seals that will unlock the gate between Hell and Earth, and then to Otherworld. Stacia Bonecrusher is a lamia and one of Shadow Wing's generals. Although she has her own agenda. Van and Jaycee Thomas are sorcerers who run a magic shop, Madame Pompey's Magical Emporium.

The Cover
The cover is Delilah in her sexy new haircut and this kitty is leather-clad and has all her claws...especially that big dagger she's holding. That look says don't cross this kitten. It's an interesting background with its warm grays and browns and paw prints on the wall. I'm not sure what the bleached-out sun seal is all about.

The title refers to Delilah's change in perspective; Harvest Hunting is true to her nature and her future.

Told through Delilah D’Artigo’s eyes, HARVEST HUNTING is the eighth in the Sisters of the Moon series. In the previous book, after a huge battle with their enemies, the girls had to give Chase, Delilah’s human love interest, the Nectar of Life to save his life. Unfortunately, it also made him not-so-human, adding hundreds of years to his lifespan and sparking his latent psychic powers. He’s not dealing so well with the sudden changes and breaks it off with Delilah. She’s crushed but has no where to turn, as her other partner, a werepuma named Zach who was also injured in the fight, is still in the hospital and refuses to see her. What’s a girl to do?

Well, turning to the Autumn Lord who made her one of his Death Maidens and for whom she’ll one day bear a child is one option but she’d literally have to be dead to get with him. Best to just focus on finding a spirit seal and getting ready for the ultimate showdown with Shadow Wing and his demon army. Unless that shadowy figure, the one with an Autumn Lord-like scent who can put her in a trance and give her multiple orgasms is available…

I was thrilled to see that it was Delilah’s turn to tell her side of the story. She’s my favorite D’Artigo sister—she turns into a tabby cat when she gets nervous or overwhelmed, she’s spunky but still a little unsure of herself, she’s the only living Death Maiden of the Autumn Lord (who’s totally hot), and she’s an Amazon who can kick some serious booty. But, poor girl, she really gets the short end of the stick through most of this book. Except for the off-limits Autumn Lord hovering in the background, her men are gone, her sisters are deliriously happy in their relationships, and she has no leads on any of the spirit seals, meaning Shadow Wing might find them before the girls do. Oh, and while in tabby form, she got skunked. Not good.

Yasmine Galenorn sure can write a great story. Her novels are infinitely detailed and complex, woven together through the eyes of the three sisters, each with their own unique perspective and facing their own set of challenges. A series like this is best read from the beginning since it would probably be difficult to pick up in the middle and not be somewhat lost because of all those details. And, unlike many series, there isn’t a whole lot of “this happened in the previous books” backstory. Great for those who’ve read the other books but not so helpful for those who haven’t. However, it’s totally worth reading from the start.

Filled with high-tension action and passionate love scenes, HARVEST HUNTING is a fabulous fall read.

Yay!
I'm redeemed! I can finally let go of Laurell K. Hamilton! I've finally found an author who accomplishes well everything LKH fails miserably at! *And* it comes across amazingly well in audiobook form to book! (LKH's audiobooks make you feel like you're listening to pornos.)

I'm extremely thrilled with Galenorn's writing. Okay, Shakespeare it's not, but I don't want good ole William in my urban fantasy/romance. I want D&D feel action scenes, character depth and development, twists I never saw coming and some interspecies romance. You get this with Galenorn. And thank god because I was beginning to think that once LKH began to fail that I'd never find another author to scratch that itch for a strong female lead with a bunch of hunky weres and feys about her. But I did!

Now, that said- I've jumped in at book 8, which is fine and I don't intend to go back and reread anything. I've read reviews that say Galenorn's writing has drastically improved by book 8 so why go back and be disappointed? No no, I'll just pick up from here thank you.

I couldn't help wondering if Galenorn played a good bit of Dungeons and Dragons in her day because I did, and some of her scenes play out like they did when I played. I mean anyone who can pull off the phrase shouted "You, Die!" in the middle of a fight scene is nerdtastic. And she thinks like a gamer. Often with Urban Fantasy writers I'd get mad at their lack of detail. Not so with Ms. Galenorn, oh no. For instance there is a scene where the characters are planning out who will be doing what in an attack and some asks if wearing that gas mask will keep the priestess character from being able to cast her spells. Um, yeah, she ponders, it probably will. So they have to work around that and find another way.. Details people! Details! Glory glory hallewereworldluiah.

PS. It doesn't hurt that Cassandra Campbell reads this bad boy. She's fantastic.

I was heartbroken at some point. I never expected to love Chase but I guess, like Delilah, I was mere in love with the idea of being in love with him.

And so the war continues. Of finding the rat, the lamia Stacia Bonecrusher, the spirit seal and of choices and love and destiny and paths to take.

With everything that's happening with no time to rest, what with being skunked and mixtures gone bad resulting in some punk, I never felt overwhelmed about everything.

I guess finding another one that would match Delilah was something unexpected that happened here. But all in all, with all that's been happening, i love the growth of Delilah's character and I'm loving her more and more. I admire her together with her sisters Menolly and Camille.

Of course, the boys that kept growing in numbers. I'm also expecting more of Shamas actually, he intrigues me. All in all, it was a good read.

"I'd never expected to find my true self in the reflection of death and destruction, of fire and flame-colored leaves, but I'd grown up so much."

I read the book back in mid January of 2011, just very slow in getting my thoughts written down.... From the very start of this series I have been an avid fan of the author's way with words, her passionate characters, non-stop action and even the funky disasters that happen to each of the sisters works to round out each story line...
Harvest Hunting is the 8th book and told from Delilah's POV, love her character be it in tabby form, panther form or human form she is just very easy to read about... All three sisters in this series have a very strong personality, however Delilah is the one who has managed to capture my sympathy more often than Camille or Menolly... In this tale Delilah is going through some rough times as she and her formerly FBH Full Blooded Human boyfriend Chase end up parting ways due to his trouble adjusting to drinking the Nectar of Life and becoming Immortal to save his life in Bone Magic.
Do not fear though as Delilah is about to find out just how strong she really is, as the fight to defeat Shadow Wing and Stacia Bonecrusher is still going strong and with everything going on in her life she must dig deep inside to be true to herself...
I sped through the book enjoying this one much more than the last story which for me was too dark and a little bit muddled at times... Harvest Hunting has no such problem, it starts off very focused and never loses that throughout the entire book... All the little tie in relationships between the other sisters and their personal lives mesh perfectly this time around... Even the different males in Camille as well as Delilah's life create better bonds with each other and at times it is almost laughable as the girl's are sort of left out!
People who have read every book will have no trouble with this one, there is no lack of the action or steamy heat we have gotten used to throughout the series... In my opinion though this time the bedroom scenes did not overshadow the rest of the plot line and it added to the excitement of the story rather than brought it to a sometimes screeching halt for me!
Next up we have the story told from Menolly's POV, as Blood Wyne released on February 1st 2011 and I am waiting for my copy to get to me so I can read it ASAP !
Order in which to read the series, including Anthologies with stories set in the series....

When Luke asks Delilah to help find his missing werewolf sister, she of course agrees. The sister is very pregnant and her ex-husband is suspect number one. However, when Delilah and her sisters start to investigate, they quickly realize things are more dangerous than they thought. Someone is creating and using a nasty drug called Wolf Briar. As if things weren't crazy enough, Stacia Bonecrusher continues to stay just one step ahead of them, and it's only a matter of time before she comes crashing at their door. It will take all of them to make it out of this mess alive and on top. Failure is not an option, for they are the front line force of the war against Shadow Wing and without them there may just not be any hope.

Before reading this book I would have have no hesitation in saying Camille's perspective was my favorite to read hands down. Now, however, they are neck and neck. Delilah made some major strides in this book. She grew so much it was absolutely amazing. Gone is the naive tabby cat who is content to take the sidelines and believe the world is all roses. She is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with as she truly accepts her role as a death maiden. It looks like she has a very full future ahead of her, but I have complete confidence in her ability to flourish in her new roles in life. I don't see Menolly and Camille treating her as if she were the baby sister anymore, she truly has become a woman in her own right.

I'll have to admit when I first started the series a long time ago I was very gun shy about the rotating perspectives. However, after reading the books, I really believe the changes in narrators adds so much more than if they all had been one perspective. Even though the sisters are bound so tightly together, the are also completely unique, and each have their own struggles to deal with. Harvest Hunting not only shows their strength together, but also really hits home just how different each of them are. Each one's unique abilities come together with the others to form one heck of an unstoppable force that will crush every obstacle in their path to protect the ones that they love.

I absolutely love this series, and this book was no exception. The girls are still going strong in their quest against Shadow Wing. Well, they are still holding the front of the lines better than could possibly have been expected. Their brood of men somehow continues to not only tolerate each other, but actually seem to be forming bonds as well. Typically that many men would be a recipe for disaster, but somehow the girls are able to keep a good leash on them, even as more are added. Harvest Hunting is definitely one of those books that you will devour in one setting and already be impatient for the next. Fans of the series will not be disappointed. Two thumbs way up!

Harvest Hunting is book 8 of the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn of the D’Artigo sisters. The point of view focus of this book is Delilah, the werecat.

Having frequently traveled to Seattle area over many years, I’m constantly reminded of Bellevue, Redmond, Snoqualmie as well as other points of interest and districts so well described by Yasmine. Her world-building makes some of us think Been there, seen that which includes the local climate.

Delilah is distressing over Chase’s changed attitude after being revived with the Nectar of Life in the last book. While still a strong advocate and supporter of the sisters, his feelings for Delilah are definitely confused. He states it plainly to her ”I love you, I really do, but right now I’m no good to either one of us.” Duh!! I was beginning to feel sorry for Delilah losing her creature comfort of Chase’s and Zach. She felt like she was losing her love, when Hi’Ran, invisible behind her, whispers ” You aren’t losing your love, you’re making room.” for him of course.

Feeling she was being shoved out of the nest and needing some air she went out for a run and hearing something in the bushes, she pounced on a plume of fur. Oh shit! Skunk! . I laughed so hard when Rozurial said “Oh, yeah, babe. You have a little BO problem, know that?” I knew this book was going to be a fun read. It even gets better as the tomato juice bath goes bad, dyeing her fur/hair and peroxide remedies makes her look like an orange calico cat and Menolly, the vampire sister, laughing tells Delilah “ I’m glad I don’t have to breathe.”

Luke, the werewolf bartender at Wayfarer asks Delilah for help in finding his pregnant sister Amber who has disappeared. Delilah and Camille initiated a plan to help find Amber which led them to a hotel where they found some of Amber’s clothing and purse. A trap had been set releasing a toxic cloud Wolf Briar. The investigation of the origins of this took the sisters and their team through many battle filled and dangerous missions. The concurrent story plots for Wolf Briar, finding the Bonecrusher, locating Amber, locating Spirit Seals, Delilah’s Death Magic training with Greta, and her visits with Shade, the Master of Shadows, all made for a very engaging and fascinating read. I’m really eager to see how their romance develops.

I went into spasms when Smoky was chatting with Shade comparing the sisters, telling him “At least my wife doesn’t turn into a tabby cat and play with my toes at night, as I’ve heard Delilah is wont to do.”

This well articulated book was a fun read in the series for adult readers who like the Otherworld series and Yasmine’s creative mind.

Harvest Hunting is the eighth book in the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn.

Book Blurb:

Blurb:

It's Samhain and the Autumn Lord has called for my training to begin with the Death Maidens....and I find that I like it.

But we've got problems: werewolves are going missing and a new magical drug, "Wolf Briar" is being used as a weapon.

My dear Chase and I have come to a delicate crossroads and there's no turning back from our decision.

And most dangerous of all: Stacia Bonecrusher has put a bounty on our heads.

Now it's a race to take out the demon general before she realizes the sixth Spirit Seal is within her reach.

My thoughts:

Harvest Hunting was a very good read. I normally like the books told from Menolly's POV best - but that being said, Harvest Hunting was a great addition to the series.

Delilah is growing into her powers as a Death Maiden - and growing into her self as a person as well. In this installment Delilah is faced with a couple of decisions - both of them personal. I think she made the right decision in both cases.

Menolly is happier now than she has been since being turned vampire. Her personal life is going well and she seems to have finally come to terms with what her life is now.

Camille and her husbands are settling in nicely - but a message from home brings sad news from the girls father.

Progress is made with Stacia Bonecrusher - and it is very satisfying progress indeed. :)

I give Harvest Hunting 4 out of 5 stars.

Better Than Previous Installments, Pure Adventure!

I strongly recommend you read this series in order (Witchling, Changeling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch, Night Huntress, Demon Mistress and Bone Magic) prior to reading this installment.

This installment was exactly the entertainment I was looking for. Surprisingly enough, this installment was not the fluff-job Night Huntress was. I was so disappointed in Delilah's behavior in Night Huntress, that it heavily influenced my prior decision after Demon Mistress, to discontinue this series.

I was impressed at the transformation of maturity Delilah displayed in this installment. Her character growth was uncanny. Her priorities were straight, and there was entirely NO bimbo-action and pointless sex scenes from her. The story was a lot darker than Night Huntress and had a nice "who done it" type feel to it, with almost pure mystery.

The "behind the veil" adventure of finding out more about Delilah's impending afterlife as a Death Maiden was both exciting and mystical.

The situation with Chase and Zach played out perfectly and I couldn't be happier with outcome.

I recommend this book to fellow dark urban fantasy readers and eagerly look forward to reading the next book Blood Wyne.
I also recommend:
On the Edge (The Edge, Book 1)
Once Bitten
The Renfield Syndrome (Rhiannon's Law, Book Two)
Frostbound: The Dark Forgotten
Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson Novels)

I just love the D'Artigo sisters, and I think Delilah is one of my favorites.

All 3 sisters are 1/2 Fae and 1/2 human, and their magic doesn't always run smoothly. Delilah is the sister who can shift like a were. She has 2 forms, her first is a cute fluffy kitty who gets into all kinds of mischief.. and in this book she meets up with a skunk and the result ends up pretty funny. The other is a panther that the Harvest Lord helped bring out in her in a previous story.

The humorous moments are rare, as the sisters are on the battle lines agains demonkin wanting to get a hold of the spirit seals to keep the portals open between worlds, and they have a bounty on thier heads from the latest demon general who is hiding somewhere on earth. Delilah is dealing with a crossroads with her relationship with Chase... who has some issues of his own to wrestle with, and she's also being called to start her training as the only living Death Maiden. Her "day job" is a private detective, and she has a case involving a missing pregnant werewolf, sister to the bartender who works at her sister Menolly's bar. So much is going on in this book that it keeps you riveted!

I love how the sisters evolve and grow in each volume, and Delilah goes through a lot in this book. Very good read!! I heartily recommend this series!

Point of view for book 8 is from the perspective of middle sister, Delilah D"Artigo. Delilah is no longer with Chase or Zachary and has begun training as a Death Maiden for the Autumn Lord, Hi'ran. Luke, werewolf and bartender at the Wayfarer Bar & Grill, asks for Delilah's help in finding his missing pregnant sister, Amber. During a scrying for Amber, it is discovered that Amber possesses the sixth spirit seal. This volume of the Sisters of the Moon series concentrates on finding Amber and searching for any leads on the demon general Stacia Bonecrusher who always seems one step ahead of the sisters. Delilah meets someone new who has a profound affect on her. The sisters' father drives a wedge bewteen himself and his daughters.

I think that Delilah is my favorite sister and I enjoyed the growth her character experiences in this volume. Glad that we finally met Arial in human form and hope to get to know her character better in future volumes. Wonder if this series will continue after the sisters recover the last spirit seal.

The battle is still going all out for the sisters, but the most fun of the book comes in the changes in the girls' lives. I have to say that with this book I am soooo over Chase. He wasn't my favorite after he cheated on Delilah, but this time around he all he did was whine, oh, poor me, I had to drink the stuff to save my life and now I can't get over it. All I can say is good riddance to him. Of course Zach wasn't much better, at least Chase has the balls to do things in person. I am interested to see where this new guy takes things. Delilah, herself, comes across as much changed in this book, but it is a change that is good for her. The ever expanding family that they have drawn around themselves even notice it and makes remarks.

It was surprising when the betrayals came, it seemed like the people that they came from were ones that no one ever expected. I also liked learning a little more about the world, the new species of people. I also enjoyed how new people are being drawn into the battle.

I have a feeling big changes are still to come.

8 books into the series, I can honestly say I'm hooked. At first, I thought the series was just a hodge podge of supes - but now, I see it kind of as a mix of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed - and that's a good thing!

I love the fact that the sisters are getting pretty secure in their love lives and at the same time, continue to grow into what their destiny is to be. Honestly, I was pretty sad when Chase and Delilah ended their relationship and I kept hoping that they'd find a way to get back together - but we'll see what Shade's character will do to help the storyline and help me feel as though she made the right choice.

It's clear also that Yasmine Galenorn's writing style has improved as the books continue. Though there are still some times when I find that there's a little too much description of scenery for my taste, overall the books have gotten so much better than the first - and I'll continue to read the series to the end.

OK these just keep getting better and better! Yea I'm SO diggin on Shade....mmmmmmmmmmm these girls are so lucky! If I had to pick I would definately be Delilah, and lucky me I would end up with an ubersexy/powerful lover! She really grew in this one I think! Glad to know who the spy of the group was too, although it was rather a sad scene. Again so much is going on in the plot now it's hard to talk without giving things away...but yea I'm diggin on the delicious men. I feel for Camille, even though shes a tough one, she still goes through alot of heartache unecessarily. I wanted to kick in her fathers teeth for what he did! And I'm really curious what is up with Iris, I hope she gets everything worked out. And I'm curious about the vampire ball thing that Menolly got invited to...will that lead to a fling with the ever powerful vampire that she visited? Now I'm on the wait game again for the next one. These books are great!

This book was a dream come true for me. Delilah was finally allowed to come into her own and be the kick-ass women that I knew she could be. I was so glad to see that the go nowhere relationship between her and Chase was ended and that she was allowed to meet someone that was worthy of her.
I was also delighted that Iris was developed more in this book. She and her powers are too great to be religated to the the shadows. I would love to see her be the star of her own book one day.

There were so many wonderful characters that came into play within this story to make it great and I can't wait to see this story expand and deepen in later books.
There was just the right amount of edge-of-your-seat action, toe curling passion and demons OH MY.

I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Okay so FINALLY Delilah truly comes into her own. No longer the self conscious, scared pussycat she's been through all the other books. She truly comes into herself in this book. Learning really what and who she is - not just her half-fae/half-human self - but her two-faced were self and a Death Maiden.

Not to mention that she and Chase finally figure out their relationship (or lack there of) and she finds what looks to be her soul mate. Can I just say that Shade is HOT! It's an added bonus that he's also an added ally for the sisters in the war against Shadow Wing.

We also learn more about Carter which proves to be very interesting.

I really loved reading this one and had a hard time putting it down.

Great expansion of characters depth in this exploration in this series. love how the main characters are used to bring in new elements and characters into the story line. The autumn lord is an intriguing new character that will surely offer plenty in the books to come. The author holds true to the level of quality in her story and writing in this series. Looking forward to more.

Review:
Harvest Hunting was a book of changes. A lot of things happened during it. In the end, nothing was the same from where the book started. Everything was different. I still think it was mediocre and not very entertaining. But at least things happened, which I can't always say about books in this series.

I spent the first half of the book hoping I could still be Camille. Her story was what was going on the screen, she just wasn't the one telling us about it. It was a really weird choice and I hated that I was with Delilah at the time, and that Delilah's book was being taken up by Camille cleanup. It just didn't feel right.

But then the second half of the book kicked in. And then all I wanted was to jump ahead in Delilah's timeline. Because while nothing was happening to further Delilah at the time, you knew it was going to get there. I just don't think we needed to actually see it. I would have preferred to just be Camille the whole time again. Despite how much changed in the book, I felt like we were always at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Everything in this series is interconnected. In the beginning of the book, we get placed on a simple missing person case. But nothing is simple. It has to be connected to the whole. Even though it never really actually fits together. It just feels like wasting time.

See, we get put on this missing person's case. Then in come the demons and the spirit seals and everything that has existed so far in this series to date. All centered on one missing women we didn't even know about prior to this book. That the sisters didn't even know about. Just a random person. I keep repeating myself, but I'm just flabbergasted at the choices the author made.

At least Delilah's connection to the Harvestman is growing stronger in some very interesting ways. Which is a theme with the series. Interesting things get introduced. And they mostly fit and work. And they are cool. And then something happens and it just ends up being slightly off kilter to the way I want it to be. And thus I feel it is mediocre.

Normally Menolly is my favorite character in the series, (although I do like how the books rotate through the three sisters) I really got into this one. Menolly's next book is out now or will be soon, so I can look forward to enjoying that. I think that Delilah really evolved a lot in this book and I like who she is becoming. As usual, the book was an action packed adventure with lots of twists and turns that all link back together. I don't think the supernatural world was too expanded, although I learned some more about Weres and their society. Overall, I think this book was more of an opportunity to develop some of the characters. It was fun and enjoyable to read.

This book was so good! I had taken a break from the series a few years back. I didn't realize there were so many books now. I really liked Delilah's story and how she has evolved. What I appreciated is that Yasmin Galenorn gives enough of a summary in the beginning to get you caught up with the story of now. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. This is number 8 out of 16 books I think.

This series is becoming increasingly more difficult to read because of the poor writing. And the editing was horrid! It's too bad, because I really like the characters and I'm interested in the story.

Moves the plot along, albeit slowly. This one focuses on the Death Maiden sister, who proves herself romantically fickle. Big things are glossed over, little ones are stretched unnecessarily. A fast read, but not one I'd revisit.
