I wouldn’t normally add a cookbook to my Reading Challenge, but I read this cover to cover. Such a delight. I can’t wait until I get to go back to Piccadilly again once COVID is behind us! 🇬🇧🇺🇸❤️
What Anglophile wouldn't enjoy a cookbook from Fortnum & Mason? There are some recipes I'm definitely going to try, and the pages are luxuriously thick, but this would have been so much better with more photographs.
As someone who has been to F&M I had always wondered if they would do a cookbook and they did. I find this a great book to read and flip thru.. but also I think recipes should be made by a more experienced cook. I think this would be a wonderful book for anyone who loves anything ENGLISH. Cheers
Ahem ...a kindle deal at 0.99p which defeats the grandness of this quite marvellous cookbook. Quintessentially British, with many recipes I am more than willing to try
Some of my earliest food memories are of Fortnum & Mason....So, understandably, the Fortnum’s Cook Book has a strong nostalgic appeal for me, but a cookery book cannot survive on sentimentality alone, and I have insulted the book’s elegance already, besmirching it with hideously garish post-it notes. A book I’ve read front to back and I still find myself going back to read it. Recipes are easy to follow with inspiring text with most recipes having pictures.
