Galen Sword was known as a rich New York City playboy. The public didn't know that his Porsche contained state-of-the-art equipment designed to track down an extraordinary creature, or that Galen was actually on a dangerous quest to find another world…his world.

Shadowy memories of being sent away from his beloved parents had given Galen an obsession: to get back to a parallel universe where he had been heir to a powerful dynasty – but had been born unaccountably and unacceptably human. To find his way home now, he had to capture a beast that crossed over from that world into the city's dark streets looking for prey: a werewolf…alive, deadly, and very real. But tryingto stop Galen was a race of brutal, magical beings, armed with a power that was terrifying and perhaps unbeatable…

Galen Sword is in an accident, and memories of the First World begin to surface. A World of magic, werewolves, shifters, wonderment, and horror. Sword assembles a team to track down anything and anyone to help reclaim his rightful heritage. But at what price? Great pacing and action.

I really enjoyed this book, probably because I read it shortly after it came out, which of course was long before such things became ubiquitous. I never knew there were 2 more books. I wonder if I'd still enjoy them now?

Great book if you like werewolves and magic. Lucked up finding it in a used bookstore.

(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I completely change my mind on a series, so want to change my scoring down a lot. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)

4.75*

Finally getting around to actually saying something to go with 5 star ratings!

First time read the author's work?: Yes

Will you be reading more?: Yes

Would you recommend?: Yes

------------
How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author)
4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author).
3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series)
or
3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)

All of the above scores means I would recommend them!
-
2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.)
1* = Disliked

Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)

Book 1 of the Chronicles of Galen Sword.

Like most SF/Fantasy novels, the back story is long and complicated and I won't even try to do it justice here. Suffice to say Galen Sword is lost in the wrong parallel world and is trying to get home. Vampires, shape-shifters and others of that ilk are in his way. Butts will be kicked.

Surprisingly good read for a schlock vampire/werewolf crossover. Of course this was before such things had jumped the shark!
