So why read an RPG book. Ok first off its reading which is really what this site is all about and secondly it has some great ideas and materials as well as related fiction. Or does it. You see when you read it you start to realise that alot of the material feels like its copied all the cult science fiction films and books of the last decade or so. Which is true since when you dig deeper you realise its all part of what is going on and is in fact a deeper part of its foundation. So yes it was worth reading and is still as fascinaton and fun now as it was then. Its just a shame the early editions fell apart due to poor bindings and the company fell to corporate politics. Also if ever you are looking for inspirations to write something RPG source books are a treasure trove of ideas
The most original concept for an RPG, perfectly mixes sci-fi and horror. Conceptually dark, monolithic, filthy, bizarre. The only fault in the book is the lack of an index, but it geta compensated with the awesome source material.
Another example of the 1990s RPG phenomenon of "cool, unusual setting, mediocre rules set". SLA Industries is kind of ridiculous in a very 1990s way, but that's what gives it its goofy charm. Full review: https://refereeingandreflection.wordp...
