In the face of the most powerful creature I've ever encountered, everything that matters is on the line. Including my life...
When I discover the Dark witch that holds my mate hostage, I must work through my anger to save Aidoneus before it's too late. That's easier said than done since I'm compelled to seek the help of his father, Hades. Let's face it, the God of the Underworld doesn't think I'm good enough for his son.
Before I can face off with Hades, Stella and I are forced to venture beyond the Underworld to a place where no one escapes - not even the most powerful of the gods. Taking on the dangers of Tartarus tests my magical abilities and leaves us hanging on by a thread. Unfortunately for us, the return trip is not for the weak or the weary. Our fragile human bodies may not survive, and for the first time since I became a witch it's clear that I'm burning the candle at both ends.
Phoebe is after an evil witch stealing power from others and killing them. The situations are varied and had my heart racing at times. The ending is perfect.

This is book nine of the Mystical Midlife in Maine series and Pleiades Phoebe Duedoone and her best friend Stella, a witch, were kidnapped by a Dark witch called Zaleria, who also managed to put Phoebe’s love Aidon (Aidoneus), the son of Hades, into a magical coma and she can’t sense him anymore. For that to happen to him, as a god, is pretty scary and shows how powerful this Dark witch has become. Luckily Phoebe and Stella have others there to help them get out of Zaleria’s twisted underground castle, namely Tseki, a dragon shifter and his long lost love Murtagh, a wolf shifter, and dwarf Thokrum, who made sure Aidon wasn’t hurt further as they made their escape. They had to call on Phoebe’s private jet and wake her pilot up, as well as Clio their trusted healer, to be ready when they got home. But matters aren’t that simple. It seems Zaleria has done something far worse than they know to Aidon and stolen some of his powers, leaving him in a weakened state, he can’t wake up from. Everyone gets involved in trying to find out what ritual was done to him and how to undo what has happened to take his power. At home she has the additional help and support of her daughter Nina, her mother Mollie, Gran Amelia, Layla, a wolf shifter, Selene who was made a ghoul and then saved by Phoebe, pixie Thia and her cat familiar Tarja, who is now expecting magical kittens, who will become familiars for other witches!
They even ask the advice of the other six Pleiades from all around the world, but they figure out she needs an expert on the Underworld and their gods, since Aidon is one of them. One of the Pleiades could even see the darkness within Phoebe and Stella, from the demonic stones Zaleria placed in their bodies. Even though they dug them out, there are particles of darkness stuck to their very cells! They will have to take Aidon to the Underworld, to his father Hades and with the darkness within them from the demonic stones, both Phoebe and Stella will be able to pass through the Hellmouth near her home, to access the Underworld. There they are met by one of the ugliest demons they have ever seen, but who is in fact Aidon’s most trusted servant and who felt the arrival of his lord. Dralgumoth takes over transporting Aidon, but soon see and hear Hades storming over in his chariot! He is not pleased to see his son in such a weakened position and immediately blames Phoebe, locking her and Stella in chains attached to chairs he pushes them into with his magic. Even his beautiful wife, Persephone, is angry at the women, but manages to calm her husband Hades down a little bit. Hades calls his healer, Ezraroch, to ascertain what has caused Aidon’s coma. What he finds out is not good news and he quickly disappears once he gives the news of them needing an antidote fro hydra venom, which is one of only a few items that could kill a god!
Phoebe and Stella will have to travel to a very dangerous part of the Underworld, Tartarus, the prison for the Titans and any gods they need to keep under lock and key. There they will have to take the blood of the most dangerous creature there, called Typhon, one with multiple heads and the location of which they have no clue! Aidon’s sister Melinoe helps to arm and supply them for whatever they might find, but even she has no idea of what they will come across inside the prison. Phoebe will do anything to save Aidon and her best friend Stella would never allow her to do it all alone! It is not a place that humans, even powerful witches should ever be and they barely escape with their lives. Indeed, it is an extremely close call as to whether either will survive, when Hades and Persephone are only concerned with healing their son! Part of their escape from Tartarus used something that was meant for gods and will quickly lead to their deaths if nothing is done. Phoebe has finally come to realise that she has been trying too hard to solve all the magical issues that have been coming up in her area, mostly on her own with Stella, instead of relying on her family and friends. Burning the candle at both ends and having sleepless nights with worry and magical sweats, isn’t helping, and she is worn out. But she can’t stop until they manage to find Zaleria and put a stop to what she is trying to do! More danger follows them all, as Zaleria has been killing witches, left and right, and siphoning them of their powers, since her plans to siphon all of Aidon’s was interrupted. What her end game is, only she knows, but Phoebe and her friends must stop her and see that she gets put where she deserves and there are a certain set of parents who are eager to help with that task!
This book was the most intense yet! Mortal danger came for loads of them and they never seemed to get a minute to rest or recuperate. They need to learn a lot of new magical potions and spells for what they will have to deal with, plus go where no mere mortals have ever gone. Meeting her possible soon to be in-laws in this way, was not exactly how she wanted to do things. She certainly couldn’t afford to lose her love, Aidon. There is more love in the tale with Teski (Teskani), as he has reconnected with his former flame and they decide to stick together this time round and not let the other go like before. An alpha wolf shifter is not exactly pleased with that situation and makes threats which the darkness within Phoebe soon allows her to shoot down! She has been changed, but neither her nor Stella have become Tainted witches and are likely never to, as they always look to help others and not take from them. I can’t wait to see what else will come in this series and look forward to reading the next few books shortly. I received an ARC copy of this book form BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
We start where the last book left off. In Zaleria’s special place where she kept Aidon. Phoebe, Stella, Tseki, Murtagh and Thokrum have found Aidon unconscious and freed him now they get him out of there with more stuff to fight. Omg, I laughed so hard at this part as they had to pull off something only seen in Lotr. Lol I was waiting for Thokrum to say something hysterical but he didn’t. I can’t wait for Z to get her Karmic comeuppance!
Then they have to get him home and see if they can heal him of what Zaleria has done to him. Wolf Alpha say what??! Lol really shocked someone didn’t stick him with a dagger. It is really bad. Poor Phoebe loves Aidon so much that she loses it. Thank goodness that her family thinks of the best way to save him. But they kinda don’t think it totally thru as they almost get splatted.
This book has to be the most terrifying and action packed so far. It literally made me nauseous a few times, I really thought the quest to save Aidon might kill the girls. I swear it was like watching Clash of the Titans, Percy Jackson movies all rolled up into one. I still haven’t decided which of Aidan’s family scares me more.
This book was the best one yet. I had so much trouble sleeping afterwards because of all of the ramifications of what happened and what it might mean for the different stories- Phoebe and her crew, Twisted sisters, or Fiona and crew, ass well as the other Pleiades.

Picking up from where the last book left off, we find Phoebe and her friends having just recovered Aidoneus from the dark witch Zaleria. Now they just need to figure out how to wake him up, and then how to capture Zaleria.
The three book story arc comes to an explosive conclusion in this book, as Phoebe goes head to head with the tainted witch. We get to go on a trip to Hades, and Phoebe gets to meet the rest of Aidoneus’ family. It’s a trip fraught with danger, because Aidoneus isn’t exactly in the best of shape, and his parents are understandably upset. There are quite a few ties to the author’s other series Midlife Witchery, since we see several of the characters, and some of the events in that series are mentioned too, and it loosely ties into the plot in this one. All in all, its another enjoyable read in this series, with a book-hook preview rather than the level five trauma cliffhangers of the previous two books!
This book starts right where book 8 left off. Phoebe and company have found Aidoneus in Zaleria's underground castle but he is unconscious and the group in still under attack. Finally escaping, they take Aidon back to Maine but have no luck reviving him. It seems a trip to the Underworld is in the cards. This is going to be an awkward visit with the in-laws.
Lots of action in this one as they all work together to get rid of Zaleria once and for all. Can Aidon get his stolen power back? Will Hades and Persephone ever forgive Phoebe and invite her to family dinners? Will Tarja hurry up and have those blasted kittens??

Aidon must be taken to the Underworld to see he parents in hopes that they can fix him. Phoebe and Stella take him there but, as soon as Hades see Aidon in the condition he is in he lashes out at the ladies and forces them to save Aidon. Phoebe is only to happy to do that even if that means a trip into Tartarus to blindly find and get some Typhon's blood. No one ever said it would be easy but, no one ever said they would live either. Can they save Aidon or will they die trying? This was an amazing book, I was completely enthralled from the first chapter. I can hardly wait the three months for the next in series. Highly recommend this book, series and all the PWF series by this inkslinger.
As we carry on from where we left off with Aidoneus being captured by the witch and her minions. Phoebe and her best friend Stella have to go to great lengths to rescue him including a dangerous mission to Tartarus to obtain something to help Aidoneus. Phoebe meets his father who thinks she isn’t good enough for his son even after going to great lengths and putting her’s and Stella’s lives on the line. But do they get there in time to save him? I’m not going to say as I don’t want to spoil it for you. But the whole thing does push Phoebe and Stella to their limit and it’s their close friendship that gets them through it. Very well written and lots of surprises along the way. With lots of laughs and tears. Can’t wait for the next one.

Aidon is stuck in a 'magical coma', well it's probably dark magic. Pheobe will do whatever it takes to save her mate. Including going to the Underworld with Stella by her side. The ladies are going to have one helluva fight on their hands. Pheobe's in-laws, they are well...a whole lot to deal with. Considering they are Gods. But love will always win. This is one of my favorite series. Loads of action, suspense and love. The bonds of this family, extended included, are strong. Everyone will pitch in to help one another. I'm sure more danger is around the corner...but they got this. I just can't wait to read it. I was lucky enough to read an advanced copy and this is my honest opinion.
My heart is absolutely grieving for Aidoneus. This God is certainly down on his luck. In a magical coma alll seems doomed. Especially when Phoebe travels to the underworld in hopes that Hades can save her mate and his only son. Talk about making a god angry.
This was such an amazing read and I can't wait for the next installment.

I don't think there has been a book from Brenda Trim that I haven't liked. Each one is amazing and Underworld Frights & Sleepless Nights deserves more than a 5 star rating! It was brilliant.
The author's writing is bang on meaning it captures you from the first page and sends you on a rollercoaster of a ride. This book was no exception, everything that Phoebe, Stella and Aidoneus have gone through in previous books and this time Phoebe is trying to save Aidon's life. Will she do it? You will have to read the book to find out, but I do suggest that if this is your first book by Brenda Trim I really suggest you read the first 8 books in the series because the story will make more sense.
If you like edge of your seat action and suspense not to mention paranormal books then this book/series is for you! Don't take my word for it read some of the other reviews they are more eloquent than mine.
Thank you to Booksprout and Brenda Trim for allowing me to read an advanced digital copy of this book!
This book finally concludes the Zaleria part of the story. I am so happy to see an end to that vengeful witch. The world building done for this book was great especially since it included Tartarus. I enjoyed meeting Aidoneus’ parents and look forward to possibly seeing more about them in future books in the series.

I’m really impressed with this series that still holds the reader’s interest all the way through the series. Once again, the author definitely does not disappoint with the telling of Phoebe's latest hair-raising adventures! Needing Hades’ help to rescue Aidoneus means a visit to the god of the Underworld who is not one of Phoebe’s fans. It’s even worse when they end up in Tartarus. This time, they may not survive!
This book picks up right where the other book left off and we see Phoebe saving Aidon from Zaleria and going on a trip to the Underworld for help from Aidon’s parents. We have one story arc conclude and more adventures coming for Phoebe and her family! I can’t wait for the next book!.

If only Phoebe and her fellow adventurers (Stella, Murtagh, etc) could get a break, but they need to save Aidoneus (Aidon) before it's too late. Can they save him before the time runs out? I loved this paranormal rich adventure, the story was gripping and I am handing out for their next story.

With Aidoneous still being held hostage, Phoebe and Stella travel to Tartarus, and enlist the aid of Aidoneous’s father Hades. Always an excellent read. Waiting and wishing for the next book so I can meet Tarja’s kittens. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This author writes bad assed women battling evil with lots of magick, action, and teamwork. This is another installment that kept me on the edge of my seat and caused more loss of sleep, as I couldn't put it down. I love the worlds she builds and the characters that continue to grow and embrace their new lives and powers.
This is so good, Aidon has had his his powers drained by the black witch and Phoebe is willing to help him by getting help from Hades. This magical and intriguing read will have you fingers and toes crossed as Phoebe and her friends battle to stop the black witch and save the day. Exciting, thrilling and gripping, this was a very enjoyable and entertaining read.
Phoebe and Stella have to travel to the Underground with Aidon because his dad, Hades, should be able to bring Aidon out of his coma. Once Aidon is awake, the main focus for everyone is to find Zaleria and exact her punishment. This story has romance and plenty of action, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.
So I have been reading this series and the storyline is good. Keeps w You wanting to know what's next. It can drag in parts but over all pretty good. The author needs a better Beta reading team as there are quite a few errors and typeos but nothing so horrible to distract from the over all story.
This was a fast paced and action packed book with some great plot twists, and I couldn't put it down. I was desperate to find out if Phooebe could save Aedonius after the last book, and the intensity increased as they tried to stop Zeleria gaining more powers, and harming their family, I can't wait for the next book,.
I did think the evil witch would go after phobes son as he can tap into lay lines, I did find it odd it was not said to call him at least in case he is out there. (Not sure I like the sons girlfriend she comes across power hungry to me) this book takes you to the underworld I do like Hades and the daughter.would be good it they visited phobe some?
Underworld Frights & Sleepless Nights (Midlife Mysteries & Magic Book 25) by Brenda Trim. After escaping from Zaleria and then rescuing Aidon, Phoebe and Stella negotiate the underworld prison to save Aidan’s life then catching Zaleria and delivering her to Aidan’s father Hades Phoebe wonders what’s next for her and family and friends.
Phoebe is in trouble again and now Aidoneus is in danger. Phoebe will do anything to bring Zaleria down. I really enjoyed this story and love Phoebe & Aidoneus and can’t wait too see what will happen next.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
The story line is as always a twisty turning trip to the end! This book is another great book in this series, leaving me wanting more of the story. I highly recommend this book and the odd characyers that make up the plelaides family as it continues to grow.
One of her best in the series! I was a bit concerned how this would end but was not disappointed! I continue to look forward to seeing the new books for this series! Thank you for this one! It was one of the best!!!
This latest installment of MMiM was well written and kept my attention from beginning to end thanks to the engaging story line along with the endearing characters. Another job well done for Brenda Trim.

Great addition to the series, but the ending was a bit anticlimactic. I really wanted to see more of what Hades were going to do with the bad witch! Looking forward to the next in the series.
Liked the interaction between Phoebe and Aidoneus's parents, two gods. Phoebe collects allies and friends everywhere and she isn't afraid to help them. I've enjoyed all the books and looking forward many more books about Phoebe and Aidoneus.
