Dropped today, read today. I really am enjoying this series so far, thank goodness. So many series tend to peter out by the second or third volume.

My only quibble is the age of the MCs. She’s biologically 15 (she kept dying at 20 in her past lives, so she is mentally 20 here) and he is 19. He seems awfully calm and collected at 19, but he’s had a hard life and an education befitting an emperor heir apparent, so I guess it makes sense.

I kind of wish we saw more of her planning or the breakdown of her planning in this one. She seemed more deliberate in the last two volumes and more emotional in this one, but I think that just shows how she is changing in her feelings for her fiancée.

4, very good third volume and I want the next one ASAP please, stars.

*Emperor Arnold Hein is King Zahad’s enemy… He destroyed Coyolles and executed the royal families of so many nations. That tyrant tried to kill Mistress Millia and His Highness the prince, and he killed my captain and Joel… That cruel man started a world war and let countless people die… He has a real mean streak…*

*His sword form is beautiful. His posture is always good, and he works efficiently. He faces people sincerely. He’s thoughtful and also bold, but sometimes he seems almost cowardly.*

Honestly the best volume so far, which I didn't expect from what is (currently) the middle of the series. Excellent pacing, heartwarming and silly moments interspersed with suspense, and perfect relationship development. Not to mention the LORE that gets dropped in this volume... Arnold and Rishe continue to grow closer while still playing their little games of cat and mouse, but the emotional stakes sure are getting high. When I inevitably come back to revisit this series, I'll definitely be rereading this volume. Fingers crossed this gets animated 🤞

[Arnold said, "I just can't beat you."

Rishe blinked. She didn't understand. "I don't think I've ever won against you, Prince Arnold."

"That's not true. You just don't know it."]

This went a lot of ways I was not expecting but probably should have.

Funny story: when I was originally buying these books, Volume 3 of the light novel was out of stock absolutely everywhere. I ended up randomly finding one copy at a bookstore a decent driving distance away, so I snagged it while I had the opportunity. And when I took it to my car and flipped it open, I looked at the first color plate - Arnold biting Rishe on the neck and sucking her blood - and thought: "..........is one of the twists him being a vampire??"

I proceeded to not actually read the books for quite a while after that, and had that thought lingering in the back of my head. Why did Arnold go on an evil empire-conquering rampage five years into the future? Because he was a secret vampire, I guess! No wonder Rishe had never been able to figure it out before.

Spoilers: he's not a vampire.

It looks like each novel will be covered in three manga volumes, so the first third of this one was a little bit of a reread, with nice additional context. We get, I think, most of the answers about Arnold's hatred for the church? I still get a little frustrated by the narrative construct of Rishe periodically noticing something important, mentally marking that Arnold must've realized as well, and then not filling the readers in. It's to build suspense, though, and reveal things at optimal moments, so it is working well.

The one big answer we do not get in this volume is what Arnold had whispered in Rishe's ear as he was stabbing her to death at the end of her sixth life. She remembers it in a hazy, feverish dream state, then forgets it again once she's woken up, so it's something that's clearly Very Important that I'm now super impatient to find out. I wonder if it'll be shown in the next couple of volumes, or if that's more of an End Of The Series reveal. (I wouldn't mind that if the entire series was complete. Ongoing series are pure agony.)

Anyway, I guess my theory that Rishe is a goddess descendant must be wrong, although I do still think the goddess's power had included the ability to turn back time, like she's doing. Maybe she's just caught up in the cycle because she has a pivotal role in saving the world? It wasn't that she was failing in any of her previous cycles - each one of them was massively important in order for her to build up skills and knowledge and relationships that she could bring into her final cycle, where she met the endgame boss: her fiance, Arnold.

First, she connects with a trading company, which allows her to travel all over the world, meeting people and learning how to negotiate and become fully self-sufficient. Then she becomes an apothecary, healing an important prince (Kyle, who starts Arnold on a diplomatic path) and learning a number of other antidotes to poisons. After that, she pivots into alchemy, picking up additional skills but also building a bond with and understanding of possibly the most dangerous man on the continent (Michel) since he could've easily made Arnold's war a thousand times more destructive with his gunpowder.

Next, she spent five years as a maid and companion to Millia...whom, it turns out, Rishe has known this entire time is the true descendant of the goddess.

It makes a ton of sense, honestly, and I feel a bit stupid for not realizing that one on my own. I was too distracted by Rishe's pink hair and strange powers! Also...Millia's purple hair wasn't colored in the manga, so really how was I supposed to pick up that clue. But this explains why Rishe was determined to connect with Millia again; it wasn't just nostalgia over a girl she'd protected and cared for in a previous life. The priestess is a super important person who can also make a huge difference in world events, and Rishe is an expert at pulling people into her plans and figuring out how best to use them.

Her fifth life is finally revealed...as a hunter? I don't know why that was kept so mysterious. I was thinking she was going to be a spy or something. It definitely needs more context - why would she choose that path after being a guardian to a priestess? What did she gain, other than the ability to track animals/people through woods and identify traps? Which is what she uses those skills for in this volume, because...there is a plot against Millia, and one of the methods is making the forest "off limits," anticipating a rebellious little girl will wander in there on her own, and setting poisoned traps for her to fall into.

This is honestly the part of the novel that worked the least, because it was wildly elaborate for no real reason. Like. Rishe figures out this complex mixture of poisons where the sleeping/paralyzing one counters the effects of the fatal poison one so people won't notice the poison until days later, when it's too late to identify the source or counteract it.

Except. She finds the poison on a bear trap in the woods and in a pit full of spikes.

I mean, if a ten year old girl stumbles into a bear trap or falls into a death pit, I think no one is going to be that bothered about whether she's been poisoned, but maybe that's just me overthinking.

It's mostly a way to set up what is my absolute favorite part of the novels so far, so I'll forgive the silliness of the setup. I also understand that first color plate now, and why it would be illustrated so prominently!

Because Rishe was able to identify the poisons in advance, she spent some time in the church's kitchen, making the antidote and talking to Arnold about it as he watched her. (He really enjoys hanging out and watching her do all her strange, busy little projects.) She specifically says that the sleeping drug being mixed in is so no one would realize there's a worse poison in there, and have the chance to suck it out before it gets too far into the bloodstream. But she also tells Arnold that it'd be too dangerous to do that anyway, because the poison being in the rescuer's mouth, even momentarily before they spit it out, means that they might die while trying to save the other person.

Which is all a big setup to Rishe following Millia into the woods and diving over her to save her from a poison-tipped arrow. (Again: the arrow only grazed Rishe's neck because of her fast reflexes, etc. It probably would've just killed Millia outright, poisoned or not. But whatever, fictional license.) The paralyzing part kicks in too fast for Rishe to do anything to save herself, so Arnold comes bounding into the woods and latches his mouth onto her bleeding neck, sucking out as much poison as he can. (Not a vampire!! Just a very, very upset fiance.)

That wasn't the scene I loved, though. It was the one that comes after, which is also illustrated in an absolutely gorgeous color plate, when Rishe is recovering in bed, still feverish and fighting with Arnold over which of them should take the last remaining antidote. When she tells him that his life is more important, he gets incredibly angry, pours the antidote into his mouth, then feeds it to her so she's forced to swallow.

And then he tells her, for the first time, why he's so angry. Which is an absolutely horrific story that really tells you everything you need to know about why he would kill his emperor father in the future. We still don't know why he followed that by going to war, but...it's hard to fault him for the patricide part. Because his father is one of those kinds of rulers who gets incredibly stuck on the purity of his heirs. I have no idea how many children he'd had...each country he conquered gave him a princess, so there must've been a ton of "empresses." But the only children he let live were the ones who, from birth, looked exactly like him: black hair and blue eyes.

Any child who did not have those features was killed in front of their mother, to punish them for bearing a child who did not look like him. And every time, Arnold, as the first and purest heir, was forced to watch.

So really...it's no wonder he hates the color of his eyes, which Rishe had praised so highly, and why he absolutely despises his father. The only thing I don't get at this point is why anyone would fault him for the takeover!!

Arnold finally talking about his feelings...the devastation of his upbringing, the survivor's guilt that sends him to the front lines of battle again and again...the way he hates himself as much as all the other empresses and his own mother did...

It makes so much sense, and I cried as much as Rishe did. This was an incredibly important bonding moment for them both. She still has to stop him from destroying the world, but she understands a little bit of the reasons behind his actions now, which will help her down that path.

And his hatred for the church? Still some bits left unexplained, maybe, but the big one is that the mysterious treaty they have with the church is because, much like with other conquered countries, the church had given Galkhein a hostage. Preemptively, in order to prevent an invasion. The hostage being the last true goddess-priestess, whom they'd told everyone had died in a tragic accident, but was in reality trapped in Galkhein, giving birth to its crown prince.

Which also means that when Arnold killed his mother - for a still-undisclosed reason - he killed the priestess, and the supposed last female representative in the goddess lineage. It also means that if he and Rishe ever have a female child, she will be a priestess in the Crusade - a child the church will be willing to go to war to recover. Which is why the bishop had been warning Rishe against marrying him.

Millia, meanwhile, is the secret daughter of the former priestess's younger sister, who'd been too sickly to take up the duties, and whom the general public had no idea had given birth. Why secret? Because part of the treaty was that any female child born to that bloodline in the next twenty years was supposed to be turned over to Galkhein. Millia's existence, hidden away from the emperor, means that the treaty has been broken and he has an excuse to invade and destroy the Crusade.

That sets up a huge messy battle among the bishops: those who want to keep her a secret and protect her, as the sacred priestess in their religion, and those who want to kill her to save the church before Galkhein finds out.

Millia doesn't have the powers she thinks she does: she didn't make the carriage crash, and she didn't cause the illnesses of the seamstresses working on the dress she'd rejected. There's no "curse" behind her actions. But she does have some other types of powers, as yet unexplored. She couldn't explain why she suddenly hated the white carriage (which had been tampered with), or why she refused to put on the dress (which had been coated in poison). She sensed that they weren't safe and simply had no way to put it into the proper words, other than throwing a tantrum.

Later, too, when the archbishop has drugged her and is trying to sacrifice her on an altar, she dreams of an alternate timeline where her father had been crippled in an attempt to save her. (One of the timelines Rishe had lived through.) So there is something going on with the goddess powers, and I guess we'll eventually figure out what it is, and how it's connected to Rishe reliving her life over and over.

Her hunter training does also come in handy during this pivotal scene - with Arnold too far away to stop the archbishop with his sword, Rishe pulls out the sacred bow and arrow and shoots the archbishop in the leg, saving Millia's life. And then has to talk Arnold down before he slaughters his way through the rest of the church. After that, she stands by him in his negotiations with the next archbishop - the man who had warned Rishe against marrying him but who now owes them a huge favor.

By allying with Arnold and Rishe, leaving the emperor entirely out of it, there's a new branch of power rapidly forming that can offset the future brutality, if they can just figure out a way to overthrow the emperor without setting off the rest of the horrible events.

It's actually an incredibly complex story that so far is crafted super well. I'm impressed, honestly, by the quality of the storytelling. And the emotional heart of this volume is overwhelmingly good.

Rishe is such an amazing protagonist, and it's evident in the way she treats everyone she comes across with kindness.

In this volume, we see her and Arnold travel to the center of the world's largest religion to see her engagement to the prince of Hermity broken for good so that the pair of them can marry when the time comes. But that's not the only reason Rishe has for going.

On the road to the grand basilica, they meet a young girl named Millia, whom Rishe served in her life as a maid. But not only does she meet Millia there happens to be an acquaintance from her life as a knight as well.

As the story unravels with saints and assassins, Rishe uses all of her might and experience to save the lives of those around her by stopping the corrupt faction of the church while learning more about Arnold's past as well.

This action packed volume was a perfect continuation of the story!

Riche and Arnold head to the Holy Kingdom of Domana to get her engagement to her former fiancee annulled. Along the way she yet again encounters people that she met in previous lives. And yet again, Riche is determined to help them avoid their previous fates. All the while, she continues to uncover more about Arnold and is his background.

Riche continues to be oblivious about what's happening in her relationship with Prince Arnold: yes, the pain you feel in your heart is definitely spillover from you sixth life when the prince stabbed you. Oh Riche...

The one issue I have with the translation of this series is the laughs. It's driving me crazy: hee hee, tee hee, etc. Maybe it's because it's unusual to read in English, but it feels so awkward and jarring to me. Also, holy crap Arnold. Such a messed-up childhood and all around life. Good thing he has that male lead energy.

Los momentos a solas entre Rishe y Arnold son tan 💕💗💖💘
Me encantó la nota de la autora al final: "Arnold’s open affection for Rishe is at about a four out of ten in this volume, so there’s still plenty of room for him to grow!".
No puedo esperar a leer más sobre el desarrollo de esta relación! ♡

Having succeeded in convincing her fiancé, the imposing Prince Arnold Hein, to forge an alliance with Coyolles, Rishe Weitzner continues to try and dig into Arnold's past to understand what might cause him to start a massive war in the future. Her latest plan leads her and the prince to the Grand Basilica under the pretext of formally annulling her engagement to her former fiancé, Prince Dietrich. On the way, they run into another familiar face from one of Rishe's past lives, Lady Millia, the 10-year-old daughter of a duke who is set to play the role of high priestess at a festival held at the Grand Basilica. But once at the church, Rishe quickly realizes everyone is hiding something, from Millia -- who claims to be able to curse people -- to the archbishop and his assistant. Worse, someone seems to be targeting Lady Millia. Although Rishe only intended to learn more about Arnold's past and why he detests the church (enough to destroy it in the future), she must also unmask the would-be assassin and expose the greater conspiracy lurking beneath, but doing so places her right in the crossfire.

This installment in the "7th Time Loop" series was weaker than its predecessors, in my opinion. The story line felt more scattered, like the author was juggling too many branching sub-plots while trying to make sure they all connected in the end. As a result, the final reveal came across as somewhat thin and rushed. I wasn't a fan of the new characters introduced either: Lady Millia came off as a spoiled brat, despite the author's weak attempts to play off her selfishness as disguised sympathy. Leo (another personage from one of Rishe's previous incarnations) suffered from similarly poor characterization, and so the two ended up with rather bipolar personalities.

While I wasn't impressed with the overall story in this third volume, I still liked reading about Rishe and Arnold and seeing how their relationship continued to develop. They take a "bread crumb" approach to vulnerability, showing the other a little more of who they are very slowly but steadily nevertheless. Arnold is an enigma that I enjoy seeing slowly unraveled by Rishe, and Rishe herself is a fun dichotomy, at times confident in herself, then at others showing her young age. Although book three was a bit of a dip in the series, I still look forward to seeing what comes next.

Last time for vol. 2, I said I couldn't get into it fully because it revolves around a key character's personal issue. This book is the same in the sense that it's heavily centered around a sub-character's background, but personally I like it a lot better. It's full of everything good about this series. Rishe continues to be clever, Arnold is slowly opening up yet remains a mystery, the sub-plot is closely linked to Rishe's personal goal, and her relationship with Arnold is developing too.

In vol. 3, Rishe goes to the Grand Basilica to annul her previous engagement. Yes, the one with her previous fiancé. She does have a reason for putting it off up until this point, but she can't proceed with her marriage to Arnold without dissolving it after all. The Grand Basilica is holding a festival and a young lady named Millia, who Rishe used to serve in one of her past lives, is filling in for the priestess, but some people might be after her life… and it has everything to do with her origins. While I thought it'd be similar to Michel's story in the previous book, delving into Millia's background not only reveals details about Arnold's past, but also offers a glimpse on the political landscape of Galkhein.

Since none of the royal guards are allowed to enter the Grand Basilica due to the festival, there's a much smaller cast featured in this book so it reads a lot like a closed circle mystery. There's never a dull moment, tension gradually builds up as Rishe gathers crucial information and reaches a gripping climax the moment she figures everything out. Due to how things play out, Rishe and Arnold become a lot closer too. While she still hasn't realized that she's falling in love, I absolutely love their dynamics. Both of them are frustrating each other out, for different reasons LOL. It's also hinted that Rishe is starting to pick up that she might've been wrong about Arnold, as there seems to be something about him that she missed in her past lives.

The way this series expands its world is just so amazing. There are two more books out as of now, so I can't wait to see where the story will take us to next.

Everyone's favorite time regressing cool aunt is back and this time she's here to conquer religion (well, not really). Compared to volumes 1 and 2 this one wasn't as strong but it still kept me hooked enough to take it out in one day. We're in a new setting with almost all new characters which in my opinion is a weakness. In volume 1 Rishe make allies in her new life and in volume 2 she's able to accomplish more because of them. Volume 3 really traps the story in Rishe's past lives as well as her trying to detective out Arnold's past which gives us less time for the schemes we all know and love. That being said, there's still schemes, but paced more franticly.

While pacing may not be the best the character development really shines. 7th time loop definitely falls into the "I can fix him" trope but with both characters being on equalish footing. I like that emotional intelligence plays a huge part in the story. We begin to see cracks in Arnold's perfect prince armor. Its a meaningful scene where Rishe cries for him over his childhood experiences and he doesn't know what to do. As a child he never had anyone tell him he's a victim of his father's monstrous beliefs and what happened wasn't his fault. He didn't have a friend, sibling, or parent in his life to comfort him. While he eventually found people who are loyal, they aren't on a similar level of power so they can never go against him, letting him run wild when he falls into despair. Rishe is the first person in his life who is empathetic towards him and powerful enough to stop and correct him when he goes astray.

I definitely want to keep reading this series. The author does a great job in not spilling all of Arnold's past all at once so I'm still curious about why he killed his mother, how he got his scars, and now why he killed all of his previous servants. I'm curious to know how he'll react if he ever finds out he's indirectly killed Rishe 5 times and personally killed her 1 time. Also when will Rishe meet his father...I'm dying to know

Rishe is busy with the wedding preparations, but there's one errand she can't put off: officially negating her previous engagement with the church. After all, she can't marry Arnold if the church still legally has her bound to someone else. But this trip involves far more than she expects. The memories of her life as a maid, as well as the question of who she is now, will prove crucial . . .

I like how this story just keeps adding layers. Everyone in this book is acting from partial information. And the missing pieces function like a murder mystery (or a preventing-murder mystery, in this case), where finding out motives and whodunnits is crucial to protecting the life of one little girl.

It's also a lot of fun to see how Arnold and Rishe drive each other nuts. She's too close to Arnold to really appreciate the impact she has on him---and too blind to herself to realize she's fallen in love. He, on the other hand, can't help but try to honor her requests . . . but always acting in his own way.

I also liked how Arnold's past comes out a bit more. It's easier to see why he has a lot of his current habits, as well as how easy it would be for him to become the cold-blooded killer Rishe remembers. And there's also the implication Rishe was wrong in her earlier judgement of him from her previous lives, which is fun.

Overall this is still going strong. I rate this book Highly Recommended.

THIS WAS SO TIRINGGG.
Whenever it feels like we understand the plot, like we know who is who, and on whose side, it all topples down with new information and everything switches. It was still a bit fun, but my brain had a hard time connecting everything properly. (Or maybe it was late at night and I read three volumes in 2 days and my brain couldn't handle all the info)

I love Millie and Leo, they're adorable with each other. But they're also so pitiful. I was unprepared for Millie's reasons; she surprised me with her maturity and selflessness in that scene. And I never expected Leo to be her bodyguard... or for Rishe and Arnold to know he is an assassin from the get-go. Intelligence who?

AND WE GOT RISHE-ARNOLD CUTE MOMENTSSS. I was crying while looking at the pictures, they are adorable😭😭. And they both let their guards down around each other; we got to see more of their emotions and pasts unlike other books where most of it was strategy and politics.

Okay, now we're really getting into it.

Light novels aren’t typically my go-to, but now that the story has moved beyond the anime, it’s really starting to shine. This was a much more captivating read, mainly because the plot has finally ventured into new territory. I was genuinely surprised by how much world-building was crammed into such a fast-paced story.

It’s still a tad cutesy—and sometimes a bit cringeworthy—but it’s definitely a step up in that regard. Rishe and Arnold are gradually growing closer, and I’m still intrigued by the mystery surrounding Arnold’s true intentions. Even if it might be a bit too sweet for my friends, I’m invested enough to keep turning the pages. A solid 4-star leap for me!

I first watched the anime and liked it, So I decided to try out the LNs. I will say it didn't disappoint the story is good nothing mind blowing happened in this book, more like Slice of life with a time loop twist some mysteries and slow burn romance in there. I will say if you liked the anime and want a more in depth of the story you should buy the LNs.

I love the translation & writing style of the book, it's easy to read and get into.

That's mainly why I bought the book loved the reading format and story of course, often LNs can have rather troublesome translation.

This translation really made me feel all the stuff the characters felt and understand rishes inner thoughts better. That made me really get into the book.

I love this series so much!! The book was so good!!!

I’ve been anticipating this release for *months* (it’s only just been translated to English). I squealed when it arrived and proceeded to read it immediately.

This is truly one of my all-time favourite series!! I love it so much.

Legit can’t wait for the next volume to come out.

Highly recommended.

This series just makes me so happy. I’ve been giggling over it for a few hours now - Rishe is just so cool & clever; Arnold is so soft for her & she has no idea & they talk about things & he’s so supportive of her & listens to her & — I just love them so much, okay?

I skipped the second volume of this series. I don't think I missed too much as I watched the anime.

The plot for this one wasn't the most interesting. It involves Rishe running into the person whom she served as a maid for in her 4th time loop. The person turns out to be a child, and children characters tend to annoy me a bit. It's very much a personal taste problem, though. It still ended up pulling in some interesting politics at play, so it was well done and matches pace and plot that the series is going for. I bought the 4th volume at the same time as buying this one, so I'll read at least one more.

The author said in his acknowledgement note that Arnold's open affection for Rishe is at a 4 out of ten....like listen he is already breathtaking at a 4, I don't know how I'll handle him at a 10!!! Rishe you lucky girl!!! I loved the development between Rishe and Arnold. I was literally fangirling so hard!! The way Arnold would do anything to protect Rishe and I love how Rishe treats Arnold and how it catches him off guard when she worries over him. These two are so darn cute!!! I also liked that we got better insight into Arnold's past and Rishe's as well. I am excited to read the next installments!

Damn.

At this point I need Arnolds own POV. Rishe is just so adorable in her not so subtle way of showing love and care to Arnold. I need to get into Arnolds head and just understand how he’s feeling with all of this.

I love this volume a lot as the relationship between the two developed and matured more here. I also love the way that this volume gave more insight about Arnolds life/history. We also see here how Rishe’s past and future is apparently intertwined.

I think the only reason I couldn’t give this book full stars was because the parts with Millia seemed too long and dragging for me.

Rishe needs to have her engagement to Prince Dietrich annulled at the Crusade's Grand Basilica in the Holy Kingdom of Domana. Prince Arnold decided he need to accompany her since he also had business there. Rishe of course had another iron in the fire. She wanted to check on the girl that she had been a maid for in her fourth life. But nothing went as she thought. She discovered who Arnold's mother had actually been, ran into a person from her sixth life, and managed to almost get herself killed a few times. A fun adventure that is providing more fodder for the speculation mills. It will be interesting to see what Rishe and Arnold get up to in the next volume!

To be fair, I think my lower rating for this volume is because I don't like Milia or Leo. This volume also marks the first time I was annoyed by Rishe. She's just so obvious about the fact that she lived previous lives? It makes no sense for her to be like, yes that's not how X is usually like, to Arnold when she's literally only met them for a few days. With how sharp he is, I'm surprised he hasn't called her out on it. Anyway, I also like how we learned more about Arnold and his father in this volume and her crying scene really brought out the tender side of Arnold so it wasn't all bad.
