Alvin and his wives had been busy over the last few weeks. They’d gone out of their way to visit settlements they’d helped in the past, all while killing a string of mini-bosses across what had been the American west. Life looked good for Team Asshole… until the devs made a mistake.

Without any warning, Sammi stopped showing up. At first, they brushed it off as her being too busy, or maybe in trouble. That changed when a new dev showed up and tried to assert his dominance. That man was killed twice— first by Alvin blowing his head off his shoulders, then by Mousie running him through with both of her swords.

With the gloves off, Team Asshole started breaking things they’d left alone. They circumvented rules left and right, cheated fast travel, and did everything else they could. A third dev appeared and pleaded for a chance to explain.

Sammi hadn’t been fired, they were told. Instead, there was an unexpected development— Sammi was the first alpha tester. Now that they knew their friend was fine— and might even join them soon— Alvin and his wives backed off their shenanigans to give the new dev, Renato, a chance.

It wasn’t long after that that they received a message from Sammi. She was in New Orleans, stuck in the Superdome with a Loa named Erzulie, and she needed their help. With no hesitation, they loaded up their helicopter, Sky Blade, and set off to rescue Sammi and those with her.

After barely pulling off the rescue of Sammi and half a dozen other women, Team Asshole returned to their base. In the aftermath, Sammi joined Team Asshole fully, accepted as another wife by Alvin and with Gothy’s enthusiastic approval.

Possible Ending?

The author says this is the ending for now, and it ends in a stable place. Unfortunately, it does not have any upsets as momentous as earlier stories. Also, the author added 5 more wives in one book so each addition felt rushed compared to Gothy, Mousie, Desiree, and Sammi. Unfortunately, that rushed feeling exists for most of the book. Earlier stories felt more organic and spontaneous, while this one felt the need to find an ending and rushed to it. Nothing BAD. Just wished the author either split this story into another novel or cut some story to expand other portions

A thrilling conclusion (for now)

A solid, solid end (however temporary) to the initial arc of a fantastic series that has run for at least four years so far. Dan knocks it out of the park with everyone’s favorite Team Asshole, and fan-favorite characters and reference make an abundant appearance. I’m not going to say anything about it further beyond the fact it was well worth the price of admission. I doubt that, to a person, anyone will be left wanting as they close out the final few pages of this book!

Rounds out the story for now

I think this was the longest book in the series, and a joy to read I like a good happy ending and it delivered. Not a lot to say about the contents of the book without spoilers so I will leave it at that. Many fade to black and non fade to black graphic scenes are contained within this book, with the content adding to the depth of the characters personalities. Alvin changed a lot between book 1 and this book, for the better, although the number of women in his harem at the end is greater than I expected during the lead up books. Enjoy the read.

Sad it's ending but loved every minute!

It was announced and well known that this was the last installment for the foreseeable future, and such knowledge tends to make fans worry. However in this case I must say that I loved every bit of the book and found the wrap up to be a wonderful end to the series. I highly recommend this series to nearly anyone even if you don't like the scenes of intimate interaction as they are independent chapters which you can skip if desired.

Gonna miss it

I really enjoyed this series. It wrapped up well and I was thankful the character sheets were left out this time as I was worried how the book was going to end when there was only 20 pages left. I hope to hear KTs side maybe someday if you ever enter this world again or maybe see how Europe did. Maybe have more magic involved since it didn't really get fleshed out besides one spell and character. Thanks for writing, it's been a Hell of a ride!

Series end

Alternate universe, LitRPG, post apocalypse, BDSM elements, harem adult situations

This is the author's cut, so presumably there is more than in the previous releases. Al and his many women deal with several major quests, and use their accumulated XP to power up the new women who join the harem. Having the player and NPCs interact with game developers was an interesting twist throughout the series. I guess the trip to what used to be Canada never happened, and there was never a follow-up to the second gate to Earth, obviously leading to Afghanistan, or to Europe by way of Massachusetts.

The characters were unique and the pacing was good for the most part. Well edited, so only a few errors. Engrossing series. Overall, it was enjoyed.

A very good ending to a series

In this last book in the series they had a lot of action a lot of drama and a lot of interesting world building. Most if not all of the characters in the book have well-developed personalities and I enjoyed reading about them what they said and what they did. I don't want to give away anything about the story other than that it was a fun read and I really enjoyed it also the romance was not fade to Black so fair warning to you all it just my opinion it added to the story it did not subtract from it. And to be honest on sad that it's over but who knows for sure.

If you read the first 7

Then nothing here is surprising.

I *do* recommend reading at least the end of the previous book to get your head back ‘in the game’, so to speak. It’s been long enough for me I struggled a bit to remember all the details.

Capped everything off with a helping of fan-service.

A bit disappointed they didn’t use the Army of Arlington in the final battle. Might have been useful against one of the footsoldiers; maybe not. Should have been at least mentioned.

A satisfying conclusion

This is a good conclusion to the series but lost some of the dynamism of the previous books. It was a bit rushed and had the feel of a snowball rolling out of control, but that was necessary as the MCs had functionally blown the power curve toward the end of the last book. That said it does avoid the failing of so many last novels of the entire plot being post script to the series. My only real objection is that Alvin got too much cooperation from those he encountered which cut off one of the best sources of drama from the earlier series.

A debaucherous, heartwarming tale of love, consent, acceptance, and murder!

I really enjoyed how this series wrapped up! The different concepts came together in a way that made sense, and seeing the evolution of Alvin and his wives was fulfilling.

Even though I don't share all the kinks they do, it was still enjoyable to be "along for the ride" and imagine being a spectator to their pleasures. There was a nice balance of overall story, character development, sex, progression, and violence throughout most of the series, too. Nicely done, Daniel!

Great Climax!

Daniel Schinhofen brings his AG Saga to a fitting climax in One Nation, Under,,,(Apocalypse Gates Author's Cut Book 8)! I'll miss Team asshole, they're a part of my psyche at this point. I reread every book before the rest of the series. Wonder ful way to end a shitty year. Thanks Daniel, y'all's writings have gone a long way towards keeping me sane in a seemingly insane world. Thanks

This has been a wild ride.

And I mean the entire series. I hate this ending books because I always want more, you can tell part way through that this is wrapping things up. Don't get me wrong, it is a solid ending, a good finish. But still, . . . you never like to see the really good ones end.

Amazing Conclusion

This was my favorite series by author Schinhofen and I'm sad to see it go. That being said this is an amazing conclusion to the tale with a solid wrap up to many of the lingering questions. I hope to see this series continue in the future perhaps with team a**hole traveling the various globes. Great series said to see it end.

Hard to believe at the end of this series that it covers less than 5 months in game (until an elision near the end) but it's a solid conclusion. I think it's the right time to end this one, and it's best to go out on top. If you made it this far I hardly need to tell you what kind of book this is; if you waiting for it, wait no longer.

Well done!!!

After reading essentially every book you've written so far I still enjoy the depth of character found in your MC's. Very few authors catch my interests and hold them so easily. Your willingness to show not just darkness but also the light that can be found in the world is refreshing. And as always mutual consent is everything. Stay awesome Daniel.

Good Ending

A solid conclusion to the series.
I have various minor complaints, but they are minor. This book is engaging, fun, and conclusive. There remains plenty of room for more stories, but these characters are finished ... for now. And if we never get another volume, this will do. This will do.

Damnit

All the feels......this book was packed v with so much emotion and action I couldn't sleep. I will never get enough of these characters, and wish we had more volumes to get to know them better. This story has been a great ride......so sad its on semi permanent pause.
A great novel, but a heartbreaking development.

Great ending

This was the first series I started in the genre and I’ve always had a soft spot, but unlike others there hasn’t been a bad book in it, and the ending was satisfying. I’ll be equally happy if something gets slotted into its place in the cycle or if Dans other series come to fruition faster. Keep up the good work.

An end to a loved series

From the first book, Daniel hooked us, carrying us through page after page, book after book, with truly memorable and amazing characters, a great story, and truly epic world building. I hope that he picks the series back up at some point as this was truly a fantastic read! Well done sir!

Excellent

Don't usually post comments but with this being the end, felt I should. This story was interesting, and fun to read. The sex sometimes were over the top, but still good. Enjoyed how all types of races were incorporated plus how the different God's or legends were added to the story. I was saddened that the story was coming to the end.

Nice and easy finish

Not too many road bumps in this journey for completion of the series. This is in keeping with the general theme of Daniels previous books. Vanilla action novel, with some explicit scenes, romance and good world building. Like the Binding words and Alpha world better but good read if you like the general tonality and previous works.

That ended pretty well
Well,... As well as could be expected.
I do notice that the author just could not stop himself from going through a frenzy of adding new wives just at the end. other than that and a few creep-out moments of sexual cringe, this was as good as most and better than some Apocalypse Gate books.

This was a great read and fun story to get into. It’s a great end to the series for now. Can’t wait to see what comes next and maybe later on to see how this story continues. Thanks for the great read!

It's a heck of a ride

I've loved this series from book one. I loved the setting, the adventures, and most of all the characters. I'm satisfied with this ending and hope that one day we can return to the adventures of team *sshole.
