This is short and sweet. We learn more about the owners of the Griffin Sanctuary. It does tell how the meet and came up with the idea. Nothing on how they really got it started. I feel that would have been more of a better insight into how it started.

Ella's boring life becomes enchanted when she follows a winged cat into another realm where all magical creatures are real. What she thought was a cat turns out to be a miniature griffin and she finds herself working as an assistant to Starlise, who helps lost, abandoned, or injured griffins. Ella soon learns there's more to life and to her than just the 9 to 5 grind, and she finds something even more magical than griffins.

This is a sweet and fun short fantasy read with a lovely light layer of romance. I love the idea of miniature griffins and how they look and behave like cats. As Ella learns to help care for the creatures, her character starts to evolve. It doesn't hurt that Starlise is so wonderful too. No big stakes in this tale, but lots of smiles and warm fuzzies.

This is a prequel for Griffin Sanctuary and we can see how ir was created.
Leia started it all... Without her Starlise and Ella wouldn't know each other and started this amazing Mitological Sanctuary.
Arizona shows again her subtle and delicate touch in exploring human feelings and love for animals. Which is a registered trademark of her books.
I loved it as much as the first book.

The Griffin Mission (A Griffin Sanctuary Prequel) is a cutesy type of story that tells us the origin of the Griffin Sanctuary. Who wouldn't like a story about winged cats? There is not much action outside of the pursuit of the Griffin Leila and not much drama. Aside from a blossoming f/f romance, the story is pretty even keel. However, the cutie pie Griffins are the stars of the book.

Welcome to the Sanctuary . . .

This story line Prequel gives the reader the origin of the Griffin Sanctuary. When a tiny winged cat flew into Ella's kitchen, her life would change as she was guided through a portal into an extraordinary world where all of the magical creatures are real. Her little winged cat is not the hallucination she assumed -- it's a miniature griffin with a magical mission. Grab your copy and explore the world, because more stories are on the way!

Ella is surprised when a small winged cat appears in her kitchen. Following it, she ends up in a world of fantasy creatures and befriending Starlise, who tends to the griffins. Wonderful characters and some backstories to get you ready for the series. Loved the locales and creatures, and can not wait to read more about all of it.

Portal to the Tender Woods for some tea

Did you know that mini-griffins “mini-roar”?

This has an important message regarding the consequences of poaching. In addition to mindless killing and wasting other people’s sustenance, taking out a nursing animal endangers the young ones. They are in peril of being eaten by predators or of starvation.
Animals should only need sanctuary due to natural causes.

Read about the Griffin Sanctuary’s employee in ‘The Unicorn Herd’.

This was a very short and easy read, one that told the tale of how the Griffin Sanctuary came about. The founders, Ella and Starlise were introduced to my knowledge in The Unicorn Herd (because I read this first), so it was fun to see how they fell for each other and created the sanctuary. Plus, there is some massive fangirling about the couple and their dedication to animals in The Unicorn Herd, so I kind of liked reading about the very beginning of all of this.

The Griffin Mission also gave more context to the world building of the Griffin Sanctuary. I thought it was a world that was nestled just beneath our own and existed side by side – because most of the fantasy genred books I read tend to do this. Instead, it’s actually based in a parallel world. One that works much like ours, but with some differences. I actually quite enjoyed the way in which this worked. Plus, the idea of portals between worlds and the fact that there are those who just stumble onto them sometimes.

Alongside the cute little romance and world building, I mostly just loved the idea of griffins. I love how Tape has taken a paranormal creature that pops up into a lot of stories and just kind of expanded on them. Like all animals, she’s given them different species and subspecies. Each with their own unique challenges and needs. Something that was ridiculously cute and adorable, plus, it made the whole idea of a paranormal sanctuary even more appealing. And now I can’t wait to read more of this series again.

The Griffin Mission by Arizona Tape is a charming story that offers a glimpse of mythical creatures and women from different worlds coming together for a worthy cause. Of course, there's romance along the way. This is another great read from a good author. It's short and sweet, but still an enjoyable story.

I just adore this short story. Plus, I want a Leia of my own! It has wonderful, mythical animals, a main character in a new dimension and even a sweet new love brewing.
This is a perfect prequel to Arizona Tape's new series: GRIFFIN SANCTUARY. I highly recommend this prequel along with Unicorn Herd. Both by Arizona Tape and worth every penny.

Sweet book

This a sweet book about mythical creatures in a parallel world. Large ones and cure small ones. And is the prequel that sets up a series about a mythical animal sactuary, with unicorns, kitsunes, dragons and more. Each animal is slightly unusual in its appearance from the fairytales.

short and cute

This was a nice story. Granted, it was very short and I kept wondering if the whole Ella only has the clothes on her back thing would come up… spoiler, it didn’t.
I wish this series was on KU though, it would be nice to learn more about the Sanctuary and it’s caretakers

Loved reading this one, to find the start of the sanctuary.
There are questions later in the rest of the book series though, that stem from this one.

Ella passed through the bridge following the Griffin, and left her world behind. She made a new life for herself with Starlise and the animals at the sanctuary.

Amazing.

A very cute introduction to the world of the Griffin Sanctuary. I've been meaning to read this series for a while, and I'm glad I started. The world is magical, the creatures are fantastical, and the characters are lovable. I'm excited to see what other creatures we will encounter in the rest of the series.

Not at all what Ella expected, or me!

An alternative world/universe? Could be. Creatures that don’t exist, definitely. Love in an unexpected place, sure. There’s still banks and money trouble, you can’t escape them whichever reality you’re in!

Unusual, Sweet, and Charming

From an ordinary, normal, boring life, a tiny winged cat flew into Ella's existence, and led her through a portal into an extraordinary world and to life with a lovely companion. The story is sweet and charming, and I enjoyed it with delight.

don’t waste your time

Speechless, but not in a good way. The story alone was horrible, writing was horrible. How was this book even published?!? I forced myself to finish it because it was short.

really cute story

Ella help a cat, or so she thinks, and finds herself in a mysterious strange place. The cat is a Griffin of folk lure. Can she find a home with the creatures and a beautiful woman?

We learn how Ella met the Mini-Griffin Leila and found a new job on the other side. Starlise looks after the small Griffins and their cubs.
A short story which I read as the first book of the series because it gives some background. So there is a lot to read more. :)

Interesting concept

I love that this story is about mythical creatures! The only problem I have is that the romance seems to be secondary and it's labeled as a romance. It was still a good book though.
