The first 10% or so seemed like a completly different story and were a bit difficult to get through.
After that the story picked back up where we left of at the end of the last book, after some "interaction" with Victor.
The rest of the book, up to about 95% was good story, some universe building, mostly relocating base and some leveling.
To end the book, we got some more "interaction" with Victor and a cliffhanger.
All in all a nice book with a bit of a slow start.

This book was good, but there was a very unnecessary and way too long sex scene at the end that I just wanted to end. That scene knocked a whole star off the book for me. Of course, I already knock off a star from the way all the women in this series seem to want to have babies and be told what to do. That stuff is so stupid, but the story is so interesting. I am glad to have read this series, as it was very enjoyable, but there were so many points in the books along the way that I couldn't stand. Michael-Scott Earle is a very good but very flawed author.

It’s really good to get another book in this series. It’s only been just over a year since the last one so it hasn’t really been that long, but compared to the fast paced releases that used to be the case when the author was able to publish on Amazon, that year has felt like forever.

Once again Victor and his tribe of beautiful alien women are up against dinosaurs and the other survivors on their crazy world as in this book they make the trek to the new location for fort v2.0. Along the way there is plenty of action to keep you interested in what’s happening and for the most part this book was a pleasure to read. As always Michael Scott Earle’s writing style is really fun, and he continues to spend time actually fleshing out the female characters in this series which is what sets him apart from other authors in the genre. He writes well written books with actual characters rather than walking talking sex dolls for the hero to win.

So all that being said, what’s the catch? For the most part there isn’t one as this isn’t so much a major issue as it just something getting in the way of a 5-star review; and that’s the pacing.

As I am a bit too fond of pointing out in reviews, action does not equal progression. A book can be filled with action and still feel slow and boring. This is because genuine pacing comes not from how much action is in a book, but the speed at which the plot unfolds. Allow me to illustrate my point with some spoiler filled examples (don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled for this book or Tamer 1).

Now this isn’t to say that not much happens in the novel as there is plenty going on. Like I said, there are a lot of action scenes, and there are also a good number of revelations that come up in this book. All of those things are interesting, but they aren’t really progressing the plot, so at times this book/series drags a little.

Overall though, that’s a small complaint in what was otherwise an excellent read. As I mentioned earlier, Michael Scott Earle pretty much nails all the other elements of storytelling which goes a long way toward making up for this lack of pacing. However, I think that if that pace could pick up a bit, then these books could easily get to 5 star territory. When the aim of these novels is to rise from literally nothing to one day ruling the world, it’s not like there’s not a lot of things that need to happen in the story before that point, so it wouldn’t be a bad thing to accomplish a bit more with each novel.

So it’s 4-stars and it’s a happy recommendation for this book and series from me. I can’t wait for the next one and I’m hoping the wait isn’t quite so long because I’m a bit greedy that way.

Another amazing entry in the Tamer series.

Victor is back and so is his tribe of talented and badass women and his fierce and loyal dinos. He's come back to lead his tribe to their new home where the opposing tribes won't find him and he'll have more opportunity given that he chose the location instead of needing to set up quickly.

The opening was a bit odd given that it was a dream sequence, but it had some great symbolism as well as some foreshadowing for the rest of the book. At the time I wasn't thrilled but in hindsight it worked out pretty well, especially if you picked up the clues in the dream.

In a lot of harem books it's hard to keep up with all the characters. Some authors put some of them in the background or they'll spend so much time on everyone that you'll lose sight of the main story. MSE balances this quite well. Everyone has a role, everyone gets a part, and we're almost always moving the story forward.

There's not a lot of slice-of-life in this book as they're on the move to their new camp. However, there is still some internal discussion as well as a lot of action. We get to find out quite a bit about the other tribe that's hunting Victor and his crew. Knowing this, I'm even more excited to see how the next book, let alone the rest of the series, plays out.

Can't wait to pledge for the next Kickstarter which will likely happen later this year.

I think this was the best one in the Tamer series so far, we got more out of existing characters and slight worldbuilding. Mostly better dialogue than before. And MC development! Dream sequence at the beginning was interesting.
I was not a fan of reminiscing that happened quite often in this book. Timewise it felt odd to reminisce about things that happen quite not too long ago. Worse was retelling how someone did something, like reminding the audience, without giving any new context of substance feels a waste of time and storytelling.
And as always the narrators did a great job

Good book, but mildly unfulfilling for me personally. Knowing the speed at which this author can write and the popularity of the series I am accepting of the bloated word count we get with all the constant reassurance and character dialogue but the lack of progress is kind of annoying. Obviously that’s all just my opinion but I didn’t have a single moment of excitement and edge of my seat anticipation this entire book. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's moving day for Victor and his tribe. Of course, without a hand from U-Haul, things get complicated when moving across the valley in dino world. We get some more hints as far as Victor's potential and some new uses for abilities. It has everything you'd expect in the series and it's well-written as always.

Dinosaurs, a bad ass main character and total babes, what’s not to love? Book seven is everything you would have expected if you’ve read the first six books. The storyline remains strong and entertaining. The adult situations are a little too graphic, but thankfully they are somewhat limited in this installment. I’m still a fan of Victor and his tribe.

That was pretty good
It's moving day for Victor's Tribe as we caravan through Dinosaur country.
Well done and well balanced. Lots of action and adventure and romance and level ups.
It's great to have the whole gang together. I loved it.

Didn't finish. I started the series for the base building LitRPG, and it basically has turned into a power fantasy porno. While that might do it for other people, that isn't my thing. I'll be getting off this ride here.

Awesome as usual. Glad I have book nr 8 downloaded already.
Jinx was so incredible and I cackled out loud every time Urka made her stupid jokes. She's hilarious. The whole Dwayne issue was freaking fantastic. The strategies were so fun.

Fun continuation of the series. Not very much time passed during it, but it was very action packed. Loved how it ended.

The beginning is weird, I understand what he was trying to do, but honestly just wanted to skip it. Rest of the book is very good.

I fell into this rabbit hole of this series and now I can't get out.

Yes, it's fun and what you expect, victor beats the bad guys, gets more girls, and then gets more powerful. I don't want to keep going on with this series but I can't seem to stop. I was a little uncomfortable with the over-the-top sex scene at the end and how all the women just want to have babies and nothing else matters.

The action is as amazing as ever. I love the story and characters too. This is still among my favorite book series.

However, the book starts off with a dream sequence which went on for twice as long as necessary. It takes up 10% of the book and is immediately followed by an extended sex scene. It was probably the first time I skipped parts of an MSE, because I became impatient and wanted to get to the story and action. Previously, sex scenes felt sorta earned, intimate, a culmination of Victor earning someone's trust fully. (Or at least, they were brief.) And while I'm nitpicking, applying descriptors like "more ripped than prime Schwarzenegger / Bruce Lee" to non-steroid humans also feels lazy and unrealistic.

Anyway, the action scenes are still awesome, if not better than ever. And the story progressed nicely, if a bit slow.

3.5 stars.

About a year of having this book sit in my library, along with the 8th one and with nothing to do, I‘ve decided to listen to them since I have the audible versions. And I was not blown away, but knew how it was going to be. Which is to say, I was left unsurprised.

I’ve ranted in reviews before and nitpicked, but to avoid ranting about it I’ll try to just express my feelings instead. Michael-Scott Earle, you frustrate and disappoint me. You are intelligent in targeting a certain fanbase, but you do them a disservice. The books, especially this one, feels without a soul. No heart was put into its pages, just a copy and paste.

But your characters and worlds suffer the greatest. They aren’t memorable, they honestly don’t even feel like real people. Just one dimensional characters. The story is flat, none progressing. There’s no emotion to your writing and this book exemplifies it.

As I’ve said before, Michael-Scott Earle, has taken advantage of certain fanbases. He knows there is a passion, a love for this genre, a love for this type of story. I’ll finish book 8, because sadly it’s hard to find a series out there like this one with surviving in dinosaur land and taming the creatures on it. Actually, there isn’t another one and we, the fans who enjoy and dream about this stuff, are left with this poor quality series. We have hope that is in vain of it getting any better or faith that a series eventually with dinosaurs being tamed and surviving in dinosaur land is made.

Another great addition to the Tamer series. Victor is able to move the tribe to a new fort and comes into conflict with two other tribes and tames additional dinosaurs. The climatic battle was good but probably not the best once I’ve read in the Tamer series but it does have some great build up to it.
We are not introduced to any new tribe members but we are starting to see further development of the skills within the tribe. It will be interesting to see how their skills can start to be used and improved to benefit the tribe.
Let’s bring on Tamer 8.

3 to 3.5 Star, I did like it but not as good as some of the other books... I would continue with this series
