1. Awake Jace's first meeting with Clary in City of Bones, from Isabelle's point of view
2. When Midnight Comes Jace's view of his first kiss with Clary
3. Because It Is Bitter The scene that takes place during pages 170-174 of City of Ashes, in the chapter The Seelie Court, here from Jace’s point of view. Boy, is Jace bitter here.
4. Jace POV Manor Scene Over the years, many people have asked for this — Jace’s point of view of the “hot and heavy” scene in THIS GUILTY BLOOD, Chapter Nine of City of Glass. I’ve taken a few liberties here — the scene goes on a few moments past what happens in the printed version of CoG — but then so did the original draft!
5. The Act of Falling Jace’s perspective on the alleyway kiss in City of Fallen Angels
6. Our Waking Souls Jace and Clary connect during a trip to Faerie, takes place during Lord of Shadows
7. A Long Conversation Jace and Clary marriage proposal, take one.
8. A Love That Never Tires Jace and Clary marriage proposal, take two.
Cassandra Clare was born to American parents in Tehran, Iran and spent much of her childhood travelling the world with her family, including one trek through the Himalayas as a toddler where she spent a month living in her father’s backpack. She lived in France, England and Switzerland before she was ten years old.
Since her family moved around so much she found familiarity in books and went everywhere with a book under her arm. She spent her high school years in Los Angeles where she used to write stories to amuse her classmates, including an epic novel called “The Beautiful Cassandra” based on a Jane Austen short story of the same name (and which later inspired her current pen name).
After college, Cassie lived in Los Angeles and New York where she worked at various entertainment magazines and even some rather suspect tabloids where she reported on Brad and Angelina’s world travels and Britney Spears’ wardrobe malfunctions. She started working on her YA novel, City of Bones, in 2004, inspired by the urban landscape of Manhattan, her favourite city. She turned to writing fantasy fiction full time in 2006 and hopes never to have to write about Paris Hilton again. Cassie’s first professional writing sale was a short story called “The Girl’s Guide to Defeating the Dark Lord” in a Baen anthology of humor fantasy. Cassie hates working at home alone because she always gets distracted by reality TV shows and the antics of her cats, so she usually sets out to write in local coffee shops and restaurants. She likes to work in the company of her friends, who see that she sticks to her deadlines.
City of Bones was her first novel. Sword Catcher is her most recent novel.
Jace and Clary aren't my favs but I have to say that was very sweet .
Ahahaha and my favourite scene ~
Jace leaned away from Clary, but only slightly. His eyes were narrowed. “I would say ‘Don’t you knock?’ but it seems evident you don’t,” he said. “We are, however, busy.”
Magnus waved a dismissive hand. “I’ve walked in on your ancestors doing worse,” he said. “Besides, it’s an emergency.”
My mind immediately went to Will and Tessa in Clockwork Princess😂
I loves this so much! Now I want to re-read The Mortal Instruments. (I'm probably not going to do that lol) Although I read many of the stories present here before I still had a fun time reading it. (Especially since I forgot most of those stories existed, ops!) This is just something extra for all the Shadowhunters' fans out there and if you don't really like Jace and Clary or TMI, this is probably not for you, but I had a blast hehe.
If you are a big Shadowhunter fan as myself you should always check and see what extra stories of your favourite characters Cassie has wrote and posted online. There are some hilarious ones out there.
Not that I'm a big Clace fan, I just love to read how Cassie's writing has changed. I loved "A Long Conversation" and I'm sure I'd enjoy reading all their extra content once again ❤️
This is the best Christmas gift ever, cute and funny remember past scenes of the other books, the way that the books is like a timeline about Clary and Jace relationship is simply beautiful and the open door that the book left is kinda exiting, this is the book that makes me smile the most in all this year and that's a pretty big goal, I simply loved it.
"I love you Jace Herondale, I love you and I need you like light and air, like my chalk and my paint, like beautiful things in the world"
So it only left wait for the last books of the shadowhunters chronicles.
I don't really like Clace but it's from the shadowhunter world so I'll take it.
Awake-4 stars Is it just me or is this better than the original scene in city of bones?
When midnight comes-3.5
Because it's bitter-3 Just because the book says she's your sister doesn't mean she's actually your sister, know what I mean? Honestly, the only reason I even liked the first half of TMI was because I got spoiled for the whole incest plot line.
Jace POV manor scene -3
The act of falling-3
Our waking souls-2 It started off kinda nice but then it turned into that and now I feel like I should wash my mouth out with soap.
A long conversation -3 If I were at an engagement party I would just not propose there. Like props to Jace but I'm different. Also the Clary and Alec friendship is underrated and should be talked about more.
A love that never tires-5 Yes! YES! This is how you do a proposal.
I totally loved it!! I had been wanting to read about jace and clary after the mortal instruments series for a long time. So, when I got the free e-book attached with the mail by Cassie, I started squealing with happiness. It was totally what i had expected it to be.
Jace and Clary have always been the best part of the Shadowhunters universe for me! They’re just so cute together, and I love Jace’s snarky sense of humor.
OMFFFFFFFFFFFGOOOOOODDDDD DA KAN NI DA DIT BESTTAAATTT THANK OU THANK YOU THANK YOU UNIVERSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#Claceforeverrrr HAAHAHAHA
➰ENCUÉNTRAME ↪️https://www.instagram.com/herbertbooks " It was like he was always half-awake where other people were concerned. And then we met you, and he woke up"— Isabelle, City of Glass
When we entered the world of Shadowhunters, through the main saga Clary and Jace were being created as well as the entire universe and development of future characters and yet they became one of the most important couples in the fandom.
They were fighting, always with a thousand problems, it seems to be their thing... But we have never seen their point of view as a couple since they had to take care of many things. I loved this compilation Cassandra, begins to give us more about Jace.
I defend Clace and really although I have loved it, I think they deserve at least one book just from them, day after day as a couple. —Rys
4,5 stars I've never been that fond of the mortal instrument but it was fun to read some romance/cute parts with Jace and Clary again, but then from Jace's pov. There is just SO MUCH drama in the mortal instrument and the romance is also just SO wrong if you think to deeply about it and don't know the ending, like here's the romance storyline:
⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ Jace and Cary are deeply in love, then find out they're brother and sister, than Clary gets prisoner by the Seeli Queen and to be freed has to be given the kiss she desires most (which is not the kiss of her best friend and then boyfriend Simon, but the kiss of her brother) and they get a bit carried away in the kiss (not like making out, but like 'where gonna eat eachother') and everybody else in the room (also Simon) looks like they gotta throw up. After that they find out they are not brother and sister, but that Clary does have a psycho half-demon brother named Jonathan who is obsessed with her and also wants a relationship with her like the old Egyptians had sometimes. Anyways, everybody wants Jonathan dead because he is evil but he bonds himself to Jace so that if they hurt him they will also hurt Jace. At the end I think Clary stabs Jace with a magic sword so the bond will be broken and then wishes Jace back to life etc.
Awake: ★★★★ It’s not really anything world-changing but I’ve got a soft spot for stories that tell the story from the love interest’s perspective, especially if it’s got the theme of “I actually noticed you first.” So this filled me with a warm fuzzy feeling.
When Midnight Comes: ★★★½ I felt half similar about this the way I felt about the first short story — I love seeing things from the other perspective. I definitely enjoyed this less — it was a lot of ways to repeat “I don’t know why I’m acting like this” — but it still made my little Clace heart happy.
Because It Is Bitter: ★★½ So I still like seeing this scene from Jace’s perspective, BUT...it’s been so long since I read the original series I’d forgotten the sibling arc and honestly it bothers me a lot more now. So this one was kind of weird to read actually.
Jace POV Manor Scene: ★★½ A quick and physical read but it has the same iffiness with me as the previous one with the sibling part.
The Act of Falling: ★★★ ANGST.
Our Waking Souls: ★★★★ Somehow this one was both wholesome and yet intensely intimate. I liked this one a lot.
A Long Conversation: ★★½ Seeing Sizzy in a Clace short story collection was a nice surprise, but I wish we’d gotten a more interesting interaction between them. There are some nice parts of this but overall I found it sort of boring.
A Love That Never Tires: ★★★★ Surprisingly touching, a really good ending to the collection. This entire collection really fills me with so much nostalgia.
I like Clace. They are not my favorite couple, but I like them. 🙊 Those two, along with the rest of the TMI gang, got me into the Shadowhunter world and they will always have a special place in my heart. 🤗
I know, most people have their issues with them - but let's not discuss that 🙉
Shadowhunters is everything to me, it might not be the best series out there but it means the world to me. I can’t even put into words how much they mean, how they are a big part of me. And Clary and Jace? They are the first characters and couple I fell in love with. I love them so much that my heart hurts and I’ll never get tired of reading about them.
There was no reason to look at this girl, with her wild red hair and her bright eyes and think of home. But he did. It's 2 AM and it's still me, smiling at pages I've read before, but it's also Cassie Clare so here we are.
