The fan-favorite couple from Netflix’s Love Is Blind share their engaging and accessible love advice for the modern world, the ups and downs they’ve experienced during their first years of marriage, and exclusive behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the pods.
When Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed locked eyes for the first time, they were already engaged. They had no idea what to expect, having fallen in love across the divider of their pods on the daring Netflix reality show Love Is Blind. While they never expected to find their other half through this experiment, Lauren and Cameron emerged proof of the hypothesis that love is blind.
Now, they’ll take us back to the origins of their whirlwind romance to tell their definitive story. Through alternating points of view, we’ll find out what led them to the show in the first place, how scary it was to bare their souls to faceless strangers on television, and how things shifted—for better and for worse—once the cameras were suddenly off and the rings were on. Lauren and Cameron’s journey together is a modern love story like no other, and their adventure is just beginning.
Cameron Hamilton is a data scientist from Maine who runs his own AI consulting firm Alliance AI. His passion is using technology to improve people’s everyday lives, especially those who suffer from chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. Some of his past work includes developing systems that reduced money laundering for major banks and improving intervention for patients who suffer from concussions by predicting prognosis while working with Cornell Medicine.
Cameron Hamilton became an American reality TV star and an internet celebrity after appearing on the popular Netflix show “Love Is Blind” where he fell in love with Lauren Speed. Speed is on the dating list and both have become fan favorites. Since "Love Is Blind", Cameron has collaborated with Lauren on building their catalog of creative ventures, including the launch of their popular YouTube channel Hanging with the Hamiltons.
Since launching Netflix, Hamilton has had around 2 million followers on Instagram and that number continues to grow.
Now with their book "Leap of Faith (Finding Love the Modern Way)", the couple Hamilton-Speed takes us back to the origins of their whirlwind romance to tell their definitive story.
Clout chasers, clout chasing but I’m not mad at it.
Leap of Faith was fun to read, and it definitely felt like a cash-grab to extend their experience re: Love Is Blind. However, so many people do this so I’m not going to critique anyone’s opportunity to get a bag.
Authenticity, especially when sharing their mutual stress of being married to a virtual stranger after spending 7 weeks on a game show, is their strong suit. It’s why people like this couple. They just seem like fun-loving kids trying to make it in the world after meeting, I won’t say “falling in love”, in a completely unique circumstance.
I don’t think Leap of Faith shares anything profound. However, the entertainment value is definitely there. Their “we’re famous” conversations were gag-worthy.
I loved the fact that they quietly eviscerated the production teams of these shows. Both Cameron & Lauren share how hostile, dangerous, gratuitous, staged and inconsiderate production on the show and shows like Love is Blind, like The Bachelor/Bachelorette can be.
Leave it to a sister to spill that tea! Lauren Hamilton is following in the footsteps of the ever-sharing and much appreciated champion Rachel Lindsey.
You come for the love story, and you eventually get around to the truth of the matter of these shows! Here for it.
I have never seen the Netflix series, but loved the concept of meeting someone and falling in love without seeing each other--based on values, communication, chemistry-of-the-mind, etc.
This isn't profound, though, and is definitely a way for this couple to make money, which they frankly confess is something they want to do (not so much from the book, but from their business.) I can see why this couple would have been popular on that show.
It also proves, very quietly and without breaking any rules they signed, just how vile the reality show business is--not that I am shocked. I was disgusted with the plethora of alcohol available 24/7--it explains some of the crap I've seen when I have watched a season or two of a show, usually with one of my kids who wants to watch it.
The scene about how they ruined Cameron's rap with editing was very telling--I am so very happy a crew member has actually posted the uncut version taken from a cell phone.
I wish this couple well, but am not one to follow celebrities even in shows I watch season after season so won't be following this pair.
a very easy and relatively quick read. Lauren & Cameron were my favorite couple from Love is Blind. It was pretty great getting to read behind the scenes & getting a peek into their lives prior to the show, during, and after the show.
The advice--however--suffered from being either too general or repetitive to what society typically says. Regardless, I enjoyed this book! It definitely gave me all the feels
Kind of boring and I found it hard to take relationship advice from a couple that has only been together for 2 yrs. Was hoping it would talk a bit more about the show or their experiences.
I LOVED the reality show "Love is Blind" and was hoping for a juicy tell-all when I picked up this book. However, this text was written for a specific audience...people who want advice on relationships.
This book tells the sweet story of Cameron and Lauren BUT every chapter also includes advice on topics ranging from dating to marriage. It has the vibe of a "self-help" book. As someone who is married, about half 3/4 of the advice in this book was irrelevant.
So, if you are looking to get some relationship advice, then this book is for you. But if you are looking for a juicy tell-all, then this book will disappoint.
Very easy quick read! Love both of their voices on their own selves leading up to the show Love is Blind and their thoughts while filming. They each gave very practical and real advice for people who are dating and looking for a meaningful relationship. Also liked how they shared their own struggles they have learned during their first years of marriage and how they are continuing to grow together. All the best love for them!
If you watched "Love is Blind," you know this show was MADE for people like Cameron & Lauren. These two were a powerhouse from the beginning. But getting the back story on how they both came to be on such an interesting and barrier-breaking show is really exciting to hear! I listened to the audiobook provided in NetGalley from Simon & Schuster audio, and I was enthralled with this couple even more than before. As someone still in the dating world, it's inspiring to hear how two complete individuals were able to make space for each other in their lives, especially after a very unusual way of meeting. It gave me great hope in my own dating life and what could be in store for me. I certainly appreciate their candidness about being an interracial couple, especially during such a big time in our country's movement forward in becoming a better, united and safe place.
Sweet, normal couple write a fairly boring step-by-step book about their reality TV experience and give dating advice. It's all very plain and nothing special--the insights they provide have been stated dozens of times in other reality star books and by self-help authors.
The beginning of the book, before they get engaged, is better than once they are allowed to live together. The two don't give anywhere near enough examples of anything beyond what we see on Netflix. Either they can't remember much or they don't want to share more of their personal lives. There are a few slams of the production people and a glaring example of where Cameron's rap song was cut up to make him look stupid, as well as happy things that were filmed but never shown. But we all know you can't trust what you see on reality TV.
Most disturbing was a chapter on race near the end of this otherwise innocent book. The two go out of their way to support Black Lives Matter and suddenly claim that she cried to see her community hurt by white police that you can't trust, and he says he suffered from white privilege. Of course the previous chapters told a different story, of her racial acceptance and totally middle class upbringing, and his non-racist background that was anything but privileged. It's sad to see them have to suddenly become politically correct because they have two million followers online and are bugged by trolls that insist they "use their platform" make pro-#BLM statements. They also quote some "facts" in the book that are not put in proper context, ignoring the reality of what's going on in the black community. The whole chapter was out of place and poorly written.
Otherwise if you want a quick read on how a reality show is put together this is okay. But these two certainly aren't a couple to learn from when it comes to how to fall in love. They got engaged in nine days and married six weeks later. That's no one else's reality.
The Title of this book says "Leap of Faith" Finding Love the Modern Way. Before I actually started The fan-favorite couple from Netflix’s “delicious romp” (Slate) Love Is Blind share their engaging and accessible love advice for the modern world, the ups and downs they’ve experienced during their first years of marriage, and exclusive behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the pods.

It's a very fun and easy read. Kinda light and fluffy with some advise on dating and what love it. They a bit about their time in the show and then also about life afterwards. Recommend. Enjoyable book to read.
I’ll be honest, I’m a little “meh” about this book. I watched Love Is Blind on Netflix last year, but I’m still probably not the best audience as I very rarely keep up with any reality star (even though I love reality tv. Go figure. 🤷🏼♀️) I thought it was interesting how Cameron and Lauren both ended up on the show, but other than that nothing really stood out or grabbed my attention about this book. This book also seemed to be geared a lot towards people who are dating or in new relationships or marriages. At the end of a lot of chapters they had tips and tricks for dating and deep conversations and finances (plus lots of other stuff). Obviously I don’t think any of that is bad to include…I just personally didn’t connect with it since I’ve been married for 8 years. 💕 If you’re a major Love Is Blind fan or love this couple, I’d recommend this one for you!
Love is Blind is my favorite reality TV show ever. I've seen it at least three times through. When I saw Lauren and Cameron were coming out with a book that would spill the tea about their time in the pods, I knew I had to have it.
I blew through this book in two sittings, and I feel like I do know more about their time in the pods and the process of getting on a reality TV show. There are some juicy bits about their time in the pods and after, but I did take a star off for the canned dating advice
A great read but once the lead up-to Love Is Blind was over it felt as though the remainder of the book was rushed and I had a difficult time keeping up with the timeline of the story that was being presented. Love these two and their story so no hate at all, the book just left me confused a few times and sometimes bored with the style of writing used!
When ‘Love Is Blind’ first came out I was hooked. I couldn’t stop watching! Cameron and Lauren were my favorite couple to watch!
When I heard they had a book out, I knew I HAD to have it.
This book was great! I could hear their voices in my head as I read and it was nice to know more about them, their backgrounds, and their marriage. I felt like they both were vulnerable and raw, showing that they are just normal people like you and I.
There was a lot of great relationship advice, especially from Cameron. I highlighted so many different things, that I plan to reflect on in my future relationships.
Lauren and Cameron were my favorite couple from the Netflix reality show. I picked up this book looking for some Love is Blind behind-the-scenes scoop, and that is the aspect I enjoyed the most. Personally, I didn't need the relationship advice. I also feel like the writing style is very stiff.
That was a fun read. It was interesting finding out editing decisions made by the show versus the reality from Cameron and Lauren's perspective. I also enjoyed the after production highlights.
(3.5 stars) My favorite couple from the show "Love is Blind". Fell in love with them on the show because of their authenticity and genuine nature and reading their book was the same experience.
listened on audio on a road trip. fun jaunt down memory lane listening to these two. tales of how they came to be on the show, experiences throughout, and dealing with the rocket to celebrity. some parts were fun, other parts felt forced or unnecessary filler. probably would have put it down if I was physically reading and not trapped on the road.
3 stars. Loved reading this since Lauren and Cameron were my favorite couple on Love Is Blind! The advice listed throughout the book was helpful, if a bit generic.
Oh, how I enjoyed looking behind the scenes of this beautiful couple. When you are good inside and out blessings will continue to follow you around is how to best describe this quick read and page turner. I do think this book is original in its own way for providing the marital self-help guide I didn’t know I needed as well as really letting the reader learn from the author’s experiences on the tv show while staying true to themselves. Highly recommend this book!
