Fanged Love is a stand alone vampire romance romcom by Kylie Gilmore and Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. While I’ve read several of Mimi’s books, this is my first time with Kylie. If I had to describe this book in one word, I would say it was “delightful!” Yes, it was over the top hysterical! But it was also sweet and sexy and just…delightful! I also want to add that the cover fits this book perfectly. The male model is Boz to a “T!”

Prince Bozhidar, or Boz, is an eight hundred year old vampire who made a witch mad and has been asleep for the past five hundred years. His slave, or majordomo as she prefers to be called, Neli, has been running his winery, Castle Sangria, in his absence. She also moved everything, the winery, the castle, all of it, to California while Boz slept. But then, unexpectedly he just woke up! Just like that! To a new world, with technology, laws, women’s equality, and so many more things he had to very quickly get accustomed to!

Red Hill South, Victoria, Australia. Montalto Vineyard 1 | by philk_56

Stella Baker is twenty two years old and has just graduated from college. She is excited to help her parents run their family’s winery, Stellariva Vineyards. Only to discover that her parents kept hidden how badly their vineyard was performing. They are counting on Stella to save them. Stella is determined to save her legacy. So she decides to go across the street to Castle Sangria and discuss their success and hopefully they will help her to find a way to save her winery.

wine

As soon as Boz and Stella meet, the attraction is instant. Mostly Boz just wants to eat Stella. The smell of her blood is overwhelmingly amazing. But he soon realizes that he doesn’t really want to kill her, that she is his mate. Now, he just has to convince Stella that she can trust him, even if he is a vampire!

I loved everything about this. I smiled all the way through. Watching Boz acclimate to the new era was hilarious. His reactions to the TV, to cell phones, and the places he got his advice, Cosmopolitan magazine, Psychology Today. It was one giggle after another. And Stella! Her devotion to her family and dedication to saving the winery was so admirable. She was a woman on a mission. Together, these two were complete opposites. But you know what they say about opposites!

If you want a book that will make you smile, giggle even, sigh, swoon and just make you feel all sparkly and happy, this is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! And I also hope these two authors decide to work together again. They most definitely do great work as a team!!!

HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY!!

Oh boy! If there’s a “grab your belly because it’ll hurt from all the laughing” category for this book, then I think Fanged Love will be in the #1 spot! I mean, that first line and the entire chapter for that matter is the perfect setting for the book’s tone. My cheeks hurt from smiling and my kids kept giving me strange looks with all the laughing. The story left me with a very happy and satisfied feeling. I kept going back to Mimi’s “providing laughs when you need them most.” It was a great from start to finish!

Fall in love with the most egocentric caveman like vampire, so old in his ways and so full of himself that you just can’t help it.

This is just silly. I'd say that I'd need to be in the right mood, but I don't think I'm ever in the mood for silly. I'm having a hard time giving it a rating as anything I rate it would be in some way unfair. It's not like it doesn't pretty much radiate "Silly!" so I only have myself to blame. So I'll forgo a rating, I think.

Oh, I laughed so much while reading! It was soooo fun!!!

The way Boz reasoned, with his old-fashioned way of thinking, was hilarious! Also his mis-pronunciation!!! Fantastic!

Don't expect anything deep here, but read it to laugh in this moment that is not a laughing one!

Great job authors!!!

A fabulously cheesy, dirty, humorous vampire romance! A fish out of water romance when Boz an eight hundred year old vampire wakes up from a five hundred year nap to discover the girl next door is his destined mate. Duel first person POV. Mimi and Kylie played well of each other's writing bringing us a romance that has all the cheese these tropes can dish all the while being a well written, wonderful characters, dirty minded, satisfying read.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and Kylie Gilmore have created an uproariously funny fantasy romance. I highly recommend meeting BOZ, a vampire who was cursed by the village witch and awakens after 500 years to find a new world.

Neli has looked after him and even went so far as to physically move his castle from Transylvania to Napa Valley. She has created a multimillion dollar winery while he slept.

Stella lives across the way, working at her family’s business, Stellaniva Vineyards. Due to financial difficulties, her family’s future is on the line. She reaches out to her neighbors, knocking on the castle door hoping to pick the successful owners brains. She has vivid dreams of a man…

When they meet, he is standing at attention!

Outrageously funny. Not your normal vampire fare.

Technologenie, magic button, Glade…

The interview with the authors has its own humor and shows why their collaboration is such a huge success.

REVIEW FROM AN ARC COPY

This book started as a throw away line in another series called the Librarians Vampire Assistant after a vampire picked up the (at the time) fictional book and wanted to know more. The amazing authors, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and Kylie Gilmore teamed up to bring what was a figment of Mimi Jeans imagination to hilarious life.

Prince Bozhidar is a stuck in the past, former warlord vampire from Transylvania who wakes up from a very very long nap to the modern world with modern technologies and modern women. His outdated notions of sex, marriage, clothing and women's intelligence does make you want to reach into the book and slap him hard enough that those notions fly out of the window. However, as the book goes on Stella and his major domo/slave/adopted little sister/adopted daughter Neli teach him how the modern world and feminism has happened.

One of the funniest things about this book is his obsession with leather pants, capes, long hair, flowy shirts and women's virginity. Despite the out dated notions,he is a product of his times and does agree to change in an effort to win the heart of Stella.

This book is full of laughs, as can be expected from the amazing authors who wrote this book and I honestly hope that they will collaborate again to bring us more books in the series as I would love to read more.

A scary and dark paranormal vampire book this is certainly not! It is campy and quirky and totally irreverent.

I absolutely love how this book came about. In Mimi’s The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant, the heroine and other slightly off balance vampires are hooked on a romance novel called “Fanged Love”. It begins as an offhanded reference, but over the series morphs into a running joke where the author gets abducted to write more of the romance. Fanged Love is the story…from within the story.

Prince Bozhidar, as an 800 year old vampire who has been asleep for the past five centuries, is hilarious. He’s conceited, self centered and utterly oblivious to the way the world has changed while he’s been out. He awakes to find that his slave/assistant/tutor in all things modern, Neli, has moved their castle to Napa Valley and “he” has become a successful winemaker.

Seeking winemaking advice in order to keep her family’s neighboring winery afloat, Stella enters Boz’s life with her close to virginal scent and he is immediately hooked. What follows is a thoroughly enjoyable and highly entertaining. Boz is completely clueless as to everything current, from fashion to customs, so his social gaffes and utter confusion as he tries to navigate modern life are adorable and endearing.

This is not a romance in the traditional sense. Nor is it truly paranormal despite the stars being a vampire and his companion. First and foremost, this is an enjoyable campy comedy and a lighthearted read.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and Kylie Gilmore deliver a delightfully campy rom-com with a side of slow-burn steam that left me unable to put the book down until I finished it at precisely 1:15am.
Stella is a young woman, fresh out of college and filled with the “girl next door” vibe from her flowing hair, down to her painted toe nails. Ready to take on the wine world, she is dealt a harsh blow when informed that her family’s vineyard needs saving.

Boz is a crusty old vampire, waking up after a very long and quite unplanned slumber and hungering for a taste of Stella. Having been napping for several hundred years, he wakes to a world he doesn’t understand and many of the laughs come from his bumbling his way into modern culture in the USA.

Neli, Boz’s “Renfield” has her own story on the side and only a cold, heartless vampire would be able to ignore Neli’s plight. Her story, while smaller and in the background, is compelling on its own and would make for a fine spin off if the authors were so inclined.

At its core, Fanged Love is an opposites attract story. Boz, in all of his problematic glory, must find a way to evolve or risk never earning Stella’s love. Stella must decide if the world really is black and white or if there is room for grey.

Full of laughter, with a healthy side of swoon and enough feels to soften even my cold heart– Pamfiloff’s die hard fans are sure to enjoy the many easter eggs/shoutouts to some of her previous works. New readers will get a short introduction into the dark, scary corners of the author’s demented psyche. Buckle up! It is a wild ride.

I would recommend this to fans of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and Kylie Gilmore, obviously. Romance readers who enjoy heaping amounts of cheesy/campy humor, some snark, a bit of steam, and a smattering of adult language and content might also enjoy Fanged Love.

This is, without a doubt, the most hilariously entertaining book I have ever read! Filled with laugh-out-loud wit, you'll fall in love with these characters. Boz's arrogance and ego will have you rolling on the floor as will his literal take on the modern world he has awoken to.

Prince Bozhidar Alexandru awakens to quite a change in the world after a witch cast a spell causing him to sleep for 500 years. Now over 800 years old and awakening to a modern world he is completely unfamiliar with, Boz has a lot to learn, especially when it comes to wooing the beautiful young lady across the road. Even though his mannerisms and behaviour are antiquated he will do whatever it takes to win the affections of sweet Stella while retaining his laugh-out-loud, arrogant opinion of himself.

Stella Baker is the quintessential girl next door and she's just returned home from college excited to take over the family winery. What she doesn't expect is the large castle across the street and a very strange yet intriguing man she feels an unusual draw to that only appears after dark. Most upsetting is she finds her parent's Vineyard on the edge of bankruptcy and Stella isn't sure there is time to fix things unless she can convince their odd neighbor to help.

The hilarity in which co-authors Mimi and Kylie wrote this stupendous and sexy rom-com had me wishing to be a proverbial fly on the wall during the process. I could literally picture one writing out loud while the other walked properly about the room, hands folded behind her back, with an aire of dignified righteousness acting out the scene and throwing quips back at the writer as if she was Boz. His literal take on everything gave the book such a lighthearted comedic twist. And, haha, it took me a bit but I caught on to the hilarious name twists.

I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

This book had me in tears from laughing so hard. Fanged Love is a paranormal romantic comedy that is written by a favorite author of mine and another that is relatively new to me. Their collaboration and fun writing style resulted in an entertaining novel that is astoundingly humorous and a tad campy.

Boz’s character was delightful. After a 500 year slumber, this eccentric being awakens only to discover that the world has changed and his mate is living next door. His human mate. He started off as exceedingly arrogant and clueless of all things modern. This led to some rather hilarious antics and inner monologues that had me howling with laughter. The style of writing for his character reminded me a bit like Michael from MJP’s Librarian Vampire’s Assistant series. The character development is spot on and I really enjoyed witnessing how he evolved throughout the novel.

Stella’s love and loyalty towards her family made her a likable character and I enjoyed her interactions with Boz. She reminded me a bit of girl next-door which is why I think she made the perfect mate for Boz. Those two couldn’t have been more different and that is one of the things that made their relationship so interesting.

Fanged Love was the perfect, light-hearted, humorous, and easy-to-read novel to lift my spirits. It is my hope that these two authors come together again to write another novel. Also, be sure to read the authors’ note at the end of the book because the dialogue between the two authors is entertaining as well.

I voluntarily read an early version of this book and all thoughts are entirely my own.

When I got this book I was so excited, I couldn't wait to read it and I was not disappointed. From the moment I started the story it just seemed to flow with every turn of the page and I couldn't put it down. I loved how I was in fits of laughing thro out most of the story. The banter between Neli and Prince Bozhidar's ( Boz ) was hilarious and how Neli likes to defy and answer back at her master (Boz) ,even the friends reference and the clever way in which certain names like society of sunshine love were added and the reference to my favourite book in the story. The funny things Boz comes up with, was really funny when Boz thought there was people caught in the tv and thinking witch craft was involved in most things and trying to get a grip of a new world of technology. I loved the love story better Stella and Boz and At first Stella thinks he's a bit eccentric and a bit bonkers and that made me laugh but there's that instant lust that turns into more with the instant connection they had from the first moment Boz wakes up and discovers Stella on his door step one day and is instantly drawn to her and I found the whole thing cleverly written to draw you in and have you wanting more.

These two know how to do a collaboration! This book is fun and witty with a little sexy thrown in. What happens when you put old school charm and modern day ideals together? Everything! Forget sappy romance novels. Pick this up and laugh out loud at an outlandish and cluesless vampire and the woman he loves.

OMG Where do I start with this book!!! HILARIOUS!!!!!

It has been a while since I read a book that had me with a smile on my face and laugh out loud situations. Where you actually love this egocentric caveman like vampire, so old in his ways and so full of himself that you just can’t fall for him.

Lets review: Main Characters:

Prince Bozhidar: the most lovable despicable vampire there is...lol, think Gru from Despicable Me. Really comical character. He really thinks he is all that and more, but he does have a big heart.
“I chuck my dirty shirt in a large white plastic bin that neli calls a “hamper.” You simply put the soiled clothes inside, and they magically reappear a few days later neatly folded and stored in their proper place. Modern marvels truly are impressive.”

Stella: a very down to earth woman in her 20’s trying to help her parents save their vineyard from going under.
“I’m a planner. Love to make a plan and check stuff off my list. It’s kinda my thing.”

Neli: the slave of Boz.. a very intelligent, until recently independent and very tired 500 year old immortal tied to Boz.
“I’m sick of this, Boz. I’m sick of you not listening to what I have to say.

The whole book is so funny thanks to Boz… have you noticed that I loved Boz????

I love the way the authors use common shows for some of us (like Friends!) as he uses those characters in the sitcom as his role models.
“She is my lobster, to quote my wise friend Phebe.”

“What do you mean she’s not interested in spending the evening with me? I rear. This is the gravest insult. And I put on my new velvety cape for this?”

And as some of us know, this book was actualy in author Mimi Jeans Pamfiloff other series The Librarians Vampire Asistant. And this book is a whole crossover!!! So its really fun to see other characters pop up!

And don’t get me started on the names of the vampires!!!!!!! Haaaaaaaa !! AWESOME!
The Great Kylgorii Gillmoreanu and Prince Pamfilovamimivich with Meshica Mermana!!! A whoot. If you have ever read Mimis books you will get the joke. If you have not read them go and read them so you can get the joke!!!!

I am sorry..If I could quote everything I liked, I would probably quote 90% of the book. The other 10% are descriptions and what nots.

The story revolves around Boz and Stella and how she tries to save her parents vineyard and he tries to woo her. While in between trying to not scare her by being vampires and immortals.

In the end he..... nop, no spoilers!!!

My recommendation is that you go and buy it!!!

A Fictitious Novel from within a Fictitious Novel. Pure GOLD!

Stella Baker has returned home to her family’s vineyard in Napa and is more than ready to take her place and eventually take over running it. The only problem? Her parents didn’t tell her paying for her to go to college could mean the end of Stellariva winery. Now Stella has limited time to try and figure out how to save her beloved home and winery. Step one: try and get some insight from the award winning winery across the road on marketing and how to get their wines on more shelves.

Prince Bozhidar Alexandru just woke up from a 500 year long nap. Thanks to his loyal Majordomo Neli, Boz’s Transyvanian winery is now based in Napa and a thriving multi-million dollar business. Nothing is as he left it and he’s having trouble adjusting to the new world and the fact that women can show their toes anytime they want. Let’s not mention that leather pants for men are no longer in fashion. How is he supposed to survive when his favorite snack (young virgin’s) is no longer

Boz and Stella are instantly at odds with one another as well as enthralled. He’s rude, blunt and rather odd. She’s sweet, innocent and Boz’s new infatuation. With their first meeting at his front door where he is wearing not a stitch of clothing and proudly barking at her for interrupting his slumber. What ensues is a charming and hilarious trip through a minefield of modern day dating, as both Boz and Stella try to avoid their attraction and simultaneously hold on to each other.

A novel born from within a novel. Originally a fictitious series of books from within Mimi Jean’s Librarian’s Vampire Assistant series Fanged Love was an ongoing point of humor for both the author and her fans. Fortunately for us Mimi’s fan base begged enough that she not only decided to write this juicy little gem, but she brought in a partner in crime Kylie GiImore that helped her make magic. Poking fun at themselves as well as other fan favorite characters from Mimi’s books, this author duo has created a delightful book that will hopefully result in additional adventures within the Fanged Love world.

Thank You For The ARC!!!!

Absolute hilarious five star read.
I often find that collaborative writings don't always work, and having never read anything by Kylie Gilmore. . . . .(That IS about to change!) I can't really compare, But man! These two should write together more often.
This is the story Mimi mentions in her wonderfully funny series "The Librarian's Vampire Assistant" the books Mr Nice is infatuated with, so hence that story needed to be told!

This is laugh out loud funny from the word go, and Boz is a typical Mimi vampire, just like Michael started out. At the start I thought OMG! someone punch this dumbarse vampire in the nuts! He was such a pompus git! But it doesn't take long before the reader begins to fall for the wonderful vampire Boz is determined to become.

So, we have a vampire, what about his love interest? In this story we have Stella, the typical girl next door.

I'm certain we get twice the laughs in this story, and the crossovers with Mimi's other books! Woah! I think everything got a mention! As I said I have yet to read any of KG's work, so will come back to this tale after I've done that for more comparisons.

All in all, if you've read TLVA and wondered about Mr Nice's fascination, then this book is a must read. It was great to sit down and have a choking good laugh!
Loved every word of it, and recommend it as a great quick read
Well done ladies, and may there be more!!!

Mimi has been a one-click author of mine for a while now - I just love her wit mixed with hotness!
Her books always take over my life and this was no exception. Teaming up with Kylie Gilmore seems a match made in...well, maybe we shouldn't go there, but it works well.

Coming up to Halloween, I just had to read this one. Also, I knew Mimi would help cheer me up.

A vineyard, an ancient vampire who just woke up from a 500 year nap - what could go wrong?
Ah, wine and vampires!

Boz, as you'd expect of someone of his age and standing, is an arrogant a*hole. It's not his fault he's a rich, sexy, well-endowed, powerful vampire, after all. But scratch the surface and you'll find his heart's in the right place. Hm, or at least his honour is. A vampire and a gentleman!

Poor Neli, his major dodo, dorko...no, domo... has her work cut out for her, trying to modernise this egomaniac!

Stella, the girl next door is sweet, sassy, savvy and... smitten! Fine. It's not quite love at first sight, but that first sight did include a view of his upstanding member, so there's that ;-)

I was chuckling my way through the whole book - puns, confusion (*sniggers* technologenie), cheesy jokes; it's all fun. I love the vampire masters names btw - nice touch!
But hugging this funny bone is a good dollop of slow-build steam.

A great sexy, funny, vampire romcom!

Vampires and wine. Ok it seams like a weird combination but, well...um...they are both red liquids? Doesn’t seem like they would make a good book but set in the Napa Valley and written by two authors with the weirdest and cleverest minds writing today and you get a terrific read. I giggled so hard at times and I felt like I could hear the two of them cackling together (as good witches do) as they hurled the hero and heroine of this book through one obstacle after another. From the gorgeous cover to the epilogue I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Yes, I am part of Mimi’s fan club and I got a free copy but I read lots of ARCs and I always give honest reviews. I was surprised that there wasn’t more sex in it given the two women writing it but when you read the book you will understand. Boz is after all an 800 year old vampire and you have to expect that he might be a touch old fashioned. He is also out of touch with the modern world and his experiences and misunderstandings are hilarious but I liked the fact that they were written in such a way that, although they are funny, they aren’t written in a way that they are put downs or just make him look stupid. This is a very enjoyable read and I really hope that this becomes a series.

I was given a free copy of this book in return for an honest review

The last time that Boz upset the wrong woman he lost centuries of his life so he isn’t about to make that mistake again. He finds himself in a world he doesn’t know, with technology he can’t understand and learning that the independent woman who has turned out to be his mate is unlike anyone he has ever met before.

Now that Stella has the education to properly manage her family’s winery she is ready to take the business world by force so finding out that the winery is not financially sound was news she wasn’t prepared for. She needs some advice so who better than Boz, the owner of the neighboring vineyard even though he is equally parts sexy and infuriating.

Watching Boz and Stella together is something you won’t soon forget. The chemistry between them is electric, their banter will have you laughing out loud and even though they couldn’t be more different the way they try to be what the other needs is what makes their relationship so special.

Mr Nice should be happy now!!

So much goodness!

1) Easter eggs
2) A pompous, conceited, old-fashioned, SEXY vampire
3) A sassy, sweet, determined, smart, caring, independent heroine
4) Family
5) A snarky, clever, loyal majordomo (or major-dorko if you're Boz)

The Easter eggs alone make this read fun and fabulous! But add in this man out of time storyline and the heroine's determination to save her family from losing their business, home, dreams, it blends for a fantastically hilarious and sweet story!!

Mimi & Kylie brought something special, especially in the midst of this trying year.

I freaking, floved every word on this trip to Boz & Stella's HEA!

I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Fanged Love was not your average paranormal romance. But what else would you expect from the awesome duo of Kylie Gilmore and Mimi Jean Pamfiloff? Belly laughs, swoony romance, quirkiness, and plot twists did abound in the novel MJP fans have been waiting for.

Whether or not you’ve read Mimi’s Librarian’s Vampire Assistant series and have heard about the (formerly) fictional, well, work of fiction that Mr. Nice was obsessed with, you can still read and completely enjoy Fanged Love. It had all the comical zingers and crazy antics I crave from MJP. And we had Kylie’s fun and oh-so sexy spin on things as well. The combination worked better than I had even hoped for when I heard about the duo’s plans. So much so that I think it would definitely get Mr. Nice’s approval... Read More

I thoroughly loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal romance. When Prince Bozhidar Alexandru, Boz, awakens 500 years later, his majordomo, immortal slave, Neli, has moved his castle to America and increased his wealth and vineyards. As Boz is trying to acclimate to this new era, he meets his neighbor, Stella Baker, who he wants with a passion and has a hard time not wanting to attack her. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of humor and captivating characters, and a riveting story from the beginning of the story until the end of the story, and a must read love story by two amazing authors.

Mr. Nice’s Fanged Love has been brought to life by authors Pamfiloff and Gillmore. You won’t stop laughing as Boz navigates the 21st century and pursues his mate, Stella. With his trusty majordomo, Neli, or whatever name pops into his head to call her, he hysterically learns to adapt and live and love in today’s world. With a vineyard for a backdrop, romance is inevitable. A great ride and collaboration. Could the story continue? Hope so.

What a book. Loved the old fashionedness of Boz trying to fit into the modern world. It made me laugh quite a few times. His chivalry was amazing, loved it.
