Fresh off of completing each of the three volumes of Umbrella Academy, I jumped at the chance to pre-order the initial issue of this arc because Klaus is the one character I resonate so strongly with in terms of "not quite fitting in yet still being part of a group." The introduction I had to the series left me with questions about what happened in the interim between the adoption of the seven children and very hands-off parenting by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and where we meet our heroes in Apocalypse Suite. Clearly there was some dysfunction there and Klaus seemed to have it in spades so what gives? Well, I am pleased to say that You Look Like Death's initial issue began to answer some of my lingering questions so I am hoping that the rest of the arc continues to build on such a great start.
i think its a great extention to klaus's story. he didnt get a lot of background in the main umbrella academy books. so this was really cool to see what happened before those events.
To no fair to this book I got it in one of the blind book things, not realizing it was umbrella academy. I don’t dislike the Umbrella Academy I’ve just never read it so the story while kinda interesting didn’t grab me as much. But the art was good- I liked the style and the colors especially- and my favorite illustration from it was the #6 variant at the end by Jenny Frison
