Fumi Nishioka lives with Kyutaro Horikita and his family of “Sweepers,” people who specialize in cleaning the minds of those overcome by negative energy and harmful spirits. Fumi has always displayed mysterious abilities, but will those powers be used for evil when she begins to truly awaken as a Queen?
Ten years ago, Kyutaro’s beloved Fuyu disappeared—and now Fumi must decide if she should let Fuyu resurface! The problem is that only one of them can remain by Kyutaro’s side… As Fumi faces this difficult decision in the depths of her own mind vault, who will she choose to sacrifice?
Kyousuke Motomi (最富キョウスケ Motomi Kyōsuke) is a Japanese mangaka whose stories have frequently been published in the monthly Betsucomi magazine. She is most currently working on Dengeki Daisy.
She uses a male pseudonym and draws herself as a man, but she's actually female."If my stories can touch you, make you laugh, forget unhappy things, or even give you that 'good job' feeling, then I'll be super, super happy!" - Kyousuke Motomi
From the mangka who brought us Dengeki Daisy is a new series in the same vein. Fumi lives with Kyutaro, a boy her own age, and his family of Sweepers, people who specialize in cleaning the minds of those overcome by negative energy and harmful spirits. An orphan with a forgotten past, Fumi is on the hunt for a "prince" but as she becomes more and more the Queen, Kyutaro is the only one who can help her control awakening powers... Will she start falling for him?
The Byakko arc has ended in a satisfying way. It’s a merging of Fumi and Kyutaro’s past with the present. We learn in depth about their back histories and put them to rest in a way that bonds Fumi and Kyutaro even more deeply. Fumi gets put into a situation where she has to make a really difficult choice where the obvious answer may not be the right one.
Fumi and Kyutaro have been in an uncertain state about their relationship. The events here clear up what they are to each other. One thing this mangaka does so well is creating resolution at each story juncture. It leaves a reader really satisfied all through the story while also being excited for what is up her sleeve next. That’s Fumi and Kyutaro at this point.
Queen’s Quality though is a female empowering manga. At its core is a story about a girl with a powerful destiny. It’s okay and good for a woman to gain knowledge and support from others, even love interests, but the power is still all in their hand to use it. I really love this message. And the balance between super serious emotional drama and the funny slice of life familial moments.
AHHHH FINALLY!!! I’ve been waiting all series for that ahh!! Yes!! That’s the end of the Byakko arc and I’m super excited to see what’s gonna happen next! With that arc wrapping up it feels almost like an end of a part 1, I can’t wait to read more
Very satisfying volume, because it shows just how much Fumi has grown. She totally would've make different choices at the beginning of the series. Excited to see how the story will continue now that Part 1 is over.
"And one more thing. Please don't ever forget to smile and live joyfully."
I loved this volume so much even if I did once again sob, BUT! Thankfully mainly only at the beginning! LOL!
I'm not quite sure how to get all my words down, but this was a beautifully drawn and heartfelt volume that completely captured me. Often it's mentioned in this series of the sincerity that needs to be put into the cleaning these sweepers do, but I think that's true for other things too because you can feel the creator's sincerity throughout each page. You could see the love and care she put into so many of the panels that I hesitated to keep reading at times because I just wanted to appreciate how she captured emotions. It's not like Motomi hasn't already done that in previous volumes, but it just felt more intense in this volume but in a beautiful way where it makes you pause and appreciate. Hopefully, that makes sense!
There were many moments I really loved, but since almost all of the ones I want to say are spoilers, I'm just going to say I LOVE Ataru's character!!! I am very much hoping that he will have more page time in future volumes because he is hilarious!
Between him and are awkward love birds, I found myself a lot happier when reading this volume! Not that I haven't been happy before now, but this one really lifted my spirits despite that there were a few sad moments.
Kyutaro seeing his dad again was so moving and sweet, I wish Fumi could have been there too. Speaking of Fumi, her choice was so brave and amazing despite all the doubts and odds still against her in the moment and to know most others failed this test is really sobering at how we’d rather pick a fake version of ourselves over the real one. And her and Kyutaro later taking down a fake version of her together was everything, loved that part!
Ataru being concerned about his new friends was so sweet, and I think this is the most kissing I’ve ever seen in a manga, lol! It’s sweet though so I don’t mind.
Definitely intense in some parts but a great break from the craziness of the last few volumes; still not sure about the whole snake inside Kyutaro thing but I guess I’ll see what happens next!

oh, how I adore this series - it's so perfectly beautiful. this volume started off really dark, and ended on such a sweet, such a much-longed-for note. so much kissing, and it's about damn time. the silhouette on page 108 - sigh. "Fumi is mine. She is not the White Queen's. And I am her consort."
Fumi's choice was agonizing, and that White Queen - I suspect we haven't seen the last of her.
Introduced to this manga at the very end, so I had to quickly get up to speed. The story is sweet and has equal parts romance and fantasy. It reminded me of Fruits Basket with its interesting characters and sentimentality. Fumi is a “sweeper” like housekeeper for a family business. She is in love with the owner’s son who seem to reciprocate the feeling, but he is caught up with another girl who has ties with Fumi that makes it very complicated.
Glad to have been able to access an early review copy.
A freaking amazing ending to this arc!! Oh wow, this volume is definitely a topper for best manga volume I read of a series. The conclusion was both satisfying and compelling for the next arc. I'm so excited to see where the story goes, since most people don't know exactly what the White Queen's endgame is.
La scelta di Fumi è stata un bel colpo di scena. Sarebbe stato facile pensare che con l'aiuto di Kyotaro avrebbe scelto di vivere e invece è stata onesta con se stessa, niente buonismi davanti a una scelta di morte. Ottimo!

I truly can't get enough of Fumi and Q in this series. They have an amazing dynamic that I love to read, and their communication is great as well. I will forever be on their side of this fight, and I can't wait to see what happens in the future.
This has been so stressful for me. I am pulling at my hair. I love this stupid story. The author said end of part one in regard to Kyutaro and Fumi’s relationship. Istg this better end happy. I’ll lose my mind
This was a really good volume. Fumi had to make a choice, and I thought the author did a really good job portraying her struggle. Not gonna lie, I cried a little. I've already requested the next volume.
Wow. An informative issue packed with the feels. This is the most solid volume yet and managed to strike a balance between the serious nature of the story with its silly quirks (for the most part).
Ho adorato tantissimo questo volume! La fine di un nuovo arco, scelte importanti, insomma, mi sono davvero commossa. ANCHE PERCHÉ STI DUE FINALMENTE SI SONO MESSI INSIEMEEEEE! ALÈ
