Author and artist Jordan Castillo Price writes paranormal sci-fi thrillers colored by her time in the Midwest, from inner city Chicago, to various cities across southern Wisconsin. She’s settled in a 1910 Cape Cod near Lake Michigan with tons of character and a plethora of bizarre spiders. Any disembodied noises, she’s decided, will be blamed on the ice maker.

Crash strikes again!
"What, no one has ever ambushed you before? You're a good-looking guy."
Kenneth is an unsuspecting store clerk working the returns desk at SaverPlus - he's knee deep in ugly sweaters and mind-numbing mediocrity when a blonde, spiky-haired stranger shows up to blow his mind... and... erm... Other Things...

Hot and heavy is even hotter when you're at work, with a complete stranger, and oh so close to getting caught.

So much for Kenneth's boring job
Many happy returns indeed...

I'm totally loving Crash in these short side-stories!
He's totally over the top and fun to read.

I'm going to write the same review for Striking Sparks and for Many Happy Returns, since they're essentially the same story and so don't really need separate reviews.

I originally didn't read these shorts because I don't care all that much about Crash. He's obnoxious, rubs me the wrong way and just proves every time he opens his mouth why an automated slapping machine is way overdue. But my friends and I are doing a PsyCop reread of the whole series, and in order to decide if I wanted to maybe possibly read book 8 after all, I thought I'd try these two short stories to see if Crash is more palatable in stories centered around him.

No. He's not.

First, I thought these would be Crash's POV, and I wanted to read them to see if I could stand being in his head for longer than five minutes since book 8 is ridiculously long. They're instead from the POVs of two random characters, Andrew and Kenneth, That's it. That's the whole of these two short stories. And I'm guessing they're from the POVs of the guys

So there you have it. I dislike Crash even more now than before. I did see that JCP has removed these from the PsyCop lineup as no longer being canon, but these are so completely Crash that I'm not sure why she did that, unless it was an effort to make him less of a dick for his own book, which I most certainly will never read.

This story gives a little more insight into Crash and his world and it completely fits with how I was picturing him. This is erotica, plain and simple, no romance, but it's done well. It's a quickie with a stranger but it's tasteful and kind of cute. I loved the image of Crash slithering over the counter. This is an excellent companion to the series but is easily standalone as well. I have no idea why Vic is on the cover though. He's not even in this story.

Reread 2/8/24
The story stands up in a reread. I'd say the same things again.

I wanted more of Crash and Andrew, not evidence of Crash being a player. While it was a hot short story, I can't say I loved it. Read independently, it makes for an interesting story with 42 year-old Kenneth enjoying an one night affair with a sizzling young man. Just a fun way to pass the time for both of them.

But reading it while knowing some of Crash's history makes him look a bit shallow to me. Or maybe I just got stuck on him and Andrew to enjoy anything else.

Crash is like a pervy pixie spreading orgasms all around town to those who need them most. It's nice to see him using his powers for good :).

These little glimpses into Crash are giving me good insight to his character. There is a lot more to him than what he has presented on purpose so far, and following him on his adventures is oh so much fun!

This is a short featuring Crash and Kenneth, a clerk working the returns desk at a small shop.

Kenneth doesn't know what to make of the customer insisting to exchange a t-shirt one size too small.

But Crash only plans to blow the unsuspecting man's mind.

"What, no one has ever ambushed you before? You're a good-looking guy."

With the added bonus of almost getting caught, this was sexy.

I do like Crash a lot. Yup.

Crash on one of his best days! He is one of the most interesting secondary character in the PsyCop series and in this very short story he is literally irresistible: a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. But what does he want, really?

Alas! It's not Crash's point of view. I'd like to know what happens in his mind!

Oh, Crash. Bringing some Holiday joy to a poor, sad-sack sales clerk at Saver Plus in his inimitable style and that's a good thing.

This is just a short sexy romp to put a smile on your face and it succeeds in spades.
Love it.

*though the character of Crash is from the PsyCop series there is no reference to the rest of that world and can be read for the anonymous fun that it is *

This was far too short. I mean I loved it, but wanted so much more. Crash is such an intriguing character.

Crash is back and in search of his next prey....
In this short book we see Crash having sex with Kenneth, a guy that was ready to close the shop for the day and finally go home and relax, but that in the end isn't able to say no to a sexy blond customer.
Not that I didn't find their mutual HJs scene sexy, but Crash is becoming way too slutty in my opinion...I can't believe he would go and have sex with any person that catches his interest and in the most absurd situations...like for example now, while Kenneth is still at work and they could be seen by other customers or workers....

Uhm...I wanna see Crash fall in love and maybe grow-up(he is 30 not 15...)
