Lleno de juegos y estrategias nos encontramos una cantidad de giros en la trama que me han agradado y recordado a los primeros tomos, algo que ya echaba de menos. Sí, tenemos dosis de acción, pero me encanta esa sensación de seguridad falsa que son capaces de plasmar en muy pocas páginas.
The Promised Neverland 7 es, por fin, el inicio del nuevo arco soñado. No solo volvemos a tener a los protagonistas amenazados por una figura adulta que sabe más que ellos, sino que ahora Emma y Ray tienen nuevas mentes perversas en sus filas. Sus estrategias y engaños ya no vienen solo de su parte, sino que los más pequeños han aprendido a jugar también. Y no sabéis lo que me encanta.
Gracias al nuevo personaje podemos ir vislumbrando nuevos datos misteriosos sobre el universo de este manga. Espero que sea un personaje duradero, porque aunque se las hace pasar canutas a los protagonistas, gracias a él creo que este manga vuelve al punto de partida de atrapar al lector con giros en la trama.
El final del tomo me deja pegado a sus páginas y deseando leer el siguiente. No puedo más con estos guiones, de verdad. Llamad a una ambulancia.
El nuevo personaje es divertido, para qué mentir, y también un poco desgraciado con los niños. Sin embargo, le agrega su toque de tensión a la historia, que lo venía necesitando
This one was great - the bath scene was so extremely cute. Awwwwh. I do miss school setting just a tiny bit though, and after that ending I cannot wait to pick up volume 8. I NEED it!
The thing I really like about this series is how they manage to end every book with a cliffhanger and you have time to think about it and guess what will happen next. And every single time I was wrong. Dead wrong.
Volume 6 ended with the kids finding the shelter and meeting the guy who lives there. But this dude is not really the person they are looking for. So after bunch of volumes with planning and executing the escape we have something different. And as usual I can't wait for another volume.
Los niños llegaron al refugio finalmente, pero en lugar de encontrar al señor Minerva, se topan con un individuo-todavía no sabemos su nombre-que ha vivido allí por años y también escapó de las granjas. Un personaje adulto, algo que sería genial, de no ser porque es un desquiciado y calculador que no tiene ningún interés en ayudarlos. Este volumen no adelanta mucho la historia que digamos, pero bueno, no se pueden esperar revelaciones impactantes en todos los volúmenes: la historia tiene que ir creciendo gradualmente. Pareciera que pronto encontrarán al señor Minerva, pero ¿será un amigo en verdad? Tengo ganas de conseguir el siguiente volumen.
The hunt is getting intense. I wish we can just speed up the process and finally get to what’s going to happen as quickly as possible and I would say this is one the things that makes me hesitant to pick up an un-completed manga. Sometimes even though the story is good it feels like things are dragging on a bit.
I'm gradually losing interest in this manga. The plot is really starting to drag, and around 70% out of every volume consists of self-motivational inner monologues and tacky family trope dialogues.
In questo volume c'è poca azione rispetto ai precedenti ma, soprattutto grazie ad Emma e Ray, non ci sono momenti noiosi. Sono molto curiosa di scoprire il passato di questo nuovo personaggio che conosciamo in questo volume e soprattutto... MA CHE CAZZO DI FINALE è? NON VA BENE PER NIENTE!!
Bueno. Creo que ha vuelto a subir la acción en este volumen. Siento que el que sigue me va a traer más acción, traición y tensión. Me he reído en varias partes y el hombre sin nombre le ha dado un toque especial. Ame a Guilda en su momento de "potra empoderada".
A good volume but didn't do much to wow me like previous volumes.
We finally meet a human outside of the orphanage and he's a bit fucking crazy. Talking to himself, other voices in his head, you know...kind of like a crackhead. Anyway Emma and Ray strike a deal with the crazy man while also getting a place locked down to keep the kids safe for now. The end results having Ray and Emma leave with the crazy guy back into the world of monsters but this time with a guide...but where will he guide them?
Overall, still exciting and fun but just felt more like a inbetween volume. Like building towards some big arc but this one was settling on a bit of character building and a touch of world building. I'm excited to see how our heroes escape the ending of this volume. A 3 out of 5.
A Peter Pan retelling like you've NEVER seen before!! Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
The Premise
The Promised Neverland vol 7 is quite different from what we've seen from Kaiu Shirai so far in this series. We meet another adult figure and this one is really no better than Mother and any of their other meetings. This adult, or geezer as the kids call him, is the sole occupant of the bunker and he isn't the hero that they were lead to believe would be at their final destination. That's okay though because Emma and Ray and always ready to punt with whatever this demon filled world throws at them!
This certainly is a middle of the arc volume... we transition and get setup for the next story line, meet a new character who changes things and we end on a cliffhanger. Still there were several moments when I exclaimed WHOA! And was giggling away like previous volumes. I enjoyed how quickly and tightly we got on with our next adventure. This is a series that doesn't waste your time but keeps giving and giving.
The Buzz
Geezer is so curious in The Promised Neverland vol 7! I wasn't deceived like Emma was for a moment about who he is because the visuals gave us some major clues (which I love!) But Kaiu Shirai makes you wonder what Geezer went through. It must be pretty extreme for him to treat these kids in this situation the way he does. The things he contemplates doing. And you know there are adults in the world who are like this, treat kids so poorly. The thing is he isn't a dumb man. He is Ray and Emma's equal. Actually as an adult his physical abilities outstrip them simply due to conditioning and experience. He won't be easy to win over and I appreciate that Ray and Emma have met a formidable opponent in Geezer.
The Feels
Ohhhhhh Emma! Hahahha I love your bold action. She really does a number on Geezer and I LOVE it! And Gilda too! Her ultimatum about killed me. The female empowerment is out of this world in The Promised Neverland vol 7. I appreciated Mother and how empowered she was in such a messed up world... but this wasn't a momentary thing... Moments with Emma happen every volume and Gilda has been quick to step up too. We really need these kinds of situations for comic readers male and female!
Ray's emotional journey continues to impress me. I'm not sure I would do so well without Norman who balanced Ray so well. But Ray has stepped up, he's learned from the situations that came before and he still has that ruthless streak even though its not aimed at his younger siblings any longer... I just hope he doesn't have to follow through on what he is prepared to do.
The Visuals
We get a new setting in The Promised Neverland vol 7 and it doesn't disappoint. I love that Posuka Demizu takes us on a tour and Kaiu Shirai gives his artist moments to showcase their new home. I also quite love Geezer's character design! He is just cool enough, messy enough and kickass enough to be exactly who he is. WOW. And the attention to detail has not waned!! It's better than ever and seriously impresses me. This is a series that you will want to pick up paper versions of no matter if you first read it from the library or not... I know I'm getting mine!!
The Promised Neverland vol 7 sets us up for a wild new adventure with an ally who is probably more an enemy in disguise?! Who knows where in the world he's taking Emma and Ray... and if they will be able to survive and return to their siblings...?!! I must immediately dive into the next volume of The Promised Neverland and see their fate...

Emma, Ray and their troupe have arrived at the coordinates provided by Minerva, and while they have found a shelter, there is a single occupant there, who lives alone and talks to himself. Emma and Ray decide they need to press on, even though their host says he has searched for Minerva. Nonetheless, the two leaders decide his help is needed and he provides resources and some cunning. (Since he won't provide his name, they call him Geezer.) The rest of the party stays at the shelter, but not before Gilda warns their new comrade that the whole team better return or there will be drastic consequences. I agree with some readers, who think this series has slowed too much.
I don't know how to continuously express that this is my favorite manga series ever, but I'll say it again THIS IS MY FAVORITE MANGA!
Vol. 7 continues the suspense with the old geezer being a brat/brainstorming how to let one of the kids die. THAT ENDING THOUGH! I always immediately need the next volume with these cliffhangers!
This one slows down a bit untill the very end, where it picks up again, and we get more mysteries about what happened to everyone... Really enjoying this series!
I think it was fun learning about our mystery unnamed man but it didn’t give me that five star feeling. But damn, they just immediately went back to danger
