“Perhaps it’s only just begun.”

“Perhaps I’m one of the first to meet the undead?”

William is right. The zombie apocalypse is in the early stages. You won’t find it on social media. I love this tidbit.

Dan had woke up to a normal day, until…It was too late to stop it. A moments hesitation ended the possibility. Now, it’s a matter of who will survive.

William…oh man.

Millie…were any of her friends left alive?

Holger…mentally impaired, or is he? After all his paranoia and prepping, the time is at hand to make use of it.

Bad things happen to good people. Sometimes helping comes with a mortal, lethal cost.

I can hardly wait to find out what happens next and who will survive to tell the story.

After meeting all these characters, they finally come together again and the intensity ramps up. They are still trying so desperately to stop the zombie virus from spreading. In this one we find out if they were successful or not. It's a nail biting, edge of your seat read. Zombie are not my preferred monster but I've enjoyed this series quiet a bit.

There I was, anxiously awaiting day 3 after reading day 2 and here it is. So here I am now, anxiously awaiting Day 4. This is a great story with lots of terror and action. I could not put it down and as I said, can hardly wait for the next book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have settled on the term zombie curse due to the nature of the initial infection. I still like where this story is going, but I am taking off one star because of the convenient uncle introduced in this book.

Dead Meat: Day 3 by Nick Clausen is another addition to this awesome zombie series. This one was even more intense than the other two and much more gruesome!

I could not put this one down.

Full Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.

If you missed my reviews Day One and/or Day Two, or hadn’t read those two novellas yet, I’d recommend starting there before reading this quick review.

When the story begins, a young man named William is doing his job at the hospital when he hears someone scratching behind a door. Thinking it may be a dementia patient that managed to lock themselves in the room, he unlocks the door. On the other side is the gruesome scene where we left off on Day 2.

Over the course of Day 3… well, this line sums it up nicely:

If he’d still had a frail hope that the catastrophe could be somehow stopped, it dies in this moment.

I love that Nick Clausen weaves the story lines of the characters that will pay a role in the situation of the day and the overall series together! I was super curious to see where new characters, William and Millie, would wind up. Then when William and Dan crossed paths, I let out a little ‘Whoop!’ I really enjoyed seeing William and Dan meet and talk about the situation.

I also loved that we’ve added a dog to the mix! The scene where William was debating whether or not to go to his apartment for the dog named Ozzy, and then to have Iron Man come on the radio… Brilliant!

I was pumped when the dog came to the rescue at one point, but I’m still worried about how it bit one of the zombies… I hope it won’t be infected! Maybe there wasn’t enough blood transfer… *fingers crossed*

One more thing I wanted to make sure to comment on was how respectful William and Dan are when it came to Millie and waiting until she was conscious to ask her to check herself for scratches. That was wonderfully done!

Yet again, there’s a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, but it was perfect! I cannot wait to see what happens on Day 4!

My Favorite Passages:
If he’d still had a frail hope that the catastrophe could be somehow stopped, it dies in this moment.

As William stares at the scene, his head is suddenly drained of all thought. He can only sit there and glare in dumb amazement and horror, He realizes just how fast this thing will spread. How soon everything will turn to chaos. He had somehow naively figured that zombies had by now become a known phenomenon; that regular people would recognize the danger, they had watched at least a few fucking episodes of Walking Dead.

Her brain is still fighting to keep up. It feels like it can’t really update its software, like it doesn’t want to compute how everything has changed.

My Final Thoughts:
Day 3 was my favorite in the series so far! It was another super fun, but also wicked stressful read. I wanted to just scream at the random people that couldn’t comprehend what was going on and kept putting themselves in harms way.

I really enjoyed all the nods to and mentions of zombie books and films like Shaun of the Dead and The Walking Dead!

If you’re a fan of zombie tales, I highly recommend checking this series out!

Another great read by Nick Clausen. Like i said in previous reviews I don’t normally read books like these as they stick with me. You can read them by themselves but it builds so much more if you read them in order. I think it added that extra to the story. I like how each Day is another story but ties in some of the characters from the previous days that get woven in. You move forward but don’t leave the characters that you have grown to like and want to know how they are doing. I actually have received copies from the author for an honest review but have went back and brought the books after reading them. This is one series that I think I would go back and reread every so often. It seems that you start the book and you are done. Not only does the story pull you in but the flow is so smooth that almost takes you to the end too quick. I say that as when you do get to the end I didn't want to stop. The story does carry on to the next book but it is like it’s own little story and also all connect together. I would and have recommend these books to anyone that likes zombie stories. And also if you don’t as I would have said that about myself and I am really enjoying them.

It’s day 3 of the end of the world, and the action is heating up. People are beginning to recognize the shambling dead for what they are - zombies. While Dan sleeps, he’s the character who connects the three books, the zombies grow and multiply. It’s a new world he wakes up to.
I love the new characters we are introduced to this time around. I’m glad people are naming the zombies for what they are. There are some nice set pieces and I like how the story developed. I’m very interested to see what happens in Day 4, and I hope I don’t have to wait too long to find out.

I got an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dead Meat: Day 3 is the third installment in Nick Clausen’s riveting zombie horror series/serial. The world is ending, and this series gives it to us in slow motion as each piece of destruction falls into place toward the end of the world.
Dead Meat: Day 3 picks up where Day 2 left off and introduces readers to a new cast of characters while bringing back a handful of familiar faces…though some may not be as welcome in their undesirable return. Dan thought that he could trust Selina to do the right thing…he was wrong. Now, the stage has been set, the players selected, and the scene is about to roll. His dreams hinted that there was more danger afoot, but when he pieces it together…it’s already too late. More victims have been claimed as the results are catastrophic.
I appreciate that the author gives me more characters, major and minor, who understand the epidemic that is seizing the land around them. The author gives readers a clear view of the trueness of the compassion that rides strong in humanity. Instinct pulls the compassion that rides in humans, but in this case…it’s one that should be seriously shoved aside in the name of self-preservation when faced with stark reality. The author shows throughout this book the errors of people’s compassion as they find their lives snuffed out one by one. There are a couple of moments of where I find myself disappointed in a character’s choice, but this goes to further show the single-mindedness of some.
This addition to the series is probably the goriest by far, but trust me, I’m not complaining. The body count sky-rockets and things are only going to get more insane from this point forward. Chaos has broken out of its box and it’s only a matter of time before there is nowhere else to run.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. Like the previous books in this series, this book ends on a cliffhanger, so if you have chosen to continue to this point…you shouldn’t be surprised when the end comes abruptly. LOL! I’m looking forward to what Day 4 brings because our survivors are in some serious trouble.

I'm still hanging on to this thrilling series as now even more zombies are coming into play. Things are starting to get real now real fast! I love how the author has thrown together the lives of the characters making them blend together as the world begins to come under attack before our eyes. I can't really pinpoint any one character I am following or rooting for at this point....seems when I get set on one they get bit and we all know what that means! LOL

Keep the zombies coming Mr Clausen!

Nooooooooooo I bet Day four isn't even out yet! What did I start reading before checking how many books were in the series?!?! Now I'll have to wait...I think I'm gonna cry....dang this man and his brilliant writing! I haven't been this entertained since the beginning of quarantine...

I have never read a zombie novel like this. There's no other way to explain it. The is wrote in days. And they are not long and boring, their so darn packed with action that I found myself walking through the house blindly, while I read. I just couldn't sit still from the anticipation and suspense that was building in me with every word!! I need the next book NOW!!!!

Things finally get out of control in Day 3, and it’s a blast! I really enjoyed the new characters, and we finally get some classic zombie action. It’s a really fun, short book that delivers exactly what we were expecting from day one.

This review is also featured on Behind the Pages: Dead Meat Day 3

Dead Meat Day 3 is an intense and nail-biting read. As the zombie population continues to rise, so too do the tight situations and close calls. And as the story shifts from containment to survival, the pace ramps up. Characters old and new will have to come to terms with their new reality. And while they continue to do all they can to contain the infection, it just might be too late this time.

Nick Clausen continues to add characters into the mix, expanding the reader's awareness of what is occurring at each new turn. William is introduced as a porter at the hospital, the same hospital that received its first zombie attack victim. While doctors and nurses are unaware of the danger, William knows from one glance what is about to happen. His mind quickly calculates the number of potential victims. And while most characters up until this point have taken a while to believe what is happening, William embraces the fact the zombie apocalypse is about to begin. He immediately goes into survival mode.

This was another grisly and entertaining read. Readers will be transfixed by the build-up of apprehension as the main characters race to find a safe haven. And just as it all seems to come to a head, readers will be dropped off on a cliffhanger demanded Dead Meat Day 4.

Dead Meat Day 3 describes the third day of the zombie apocalypse and its getting worse. The virus spreads like fire and infects people from all over the town. During this chaos more main characters get introduced and many connections get uncovered. Will Dan and newly introduced William and Mille be able to keep the apocalypse in town or will it spread further?

Book three in the awesome zombie series from Nick Clausen is even better than the books before! There's even more tension, zombies and it's getting really serious! I couldn't put it down and I felt like I was there. I can only recommend to continue (or start) reading the series, it's totally worth it!

The story picks up right after Day 2- A hospital worker hears a noise in the basement and discovers zombies. Quickly realizing what they are, he takes off. The lady who got scratched by the cat and the guy attack school bus, only two made it off and one girl survives. Dan took a well-deserved sleep but has a nagging feeling he forgot about something. Zombies are popping up left and right and there seems to be no hope left. The entire city is infected and the government doesn't seem to be doing much. I can't wait to see what will happen the next day. :)

The intensity and pace increase with each book and I'm so happy that there is going to be more day coming up. It's such an intense series, that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book.

Synopsis:

Dead Meat Day 3 is the third instalment of the Dead Meat series. Dan ended Day 2 thinking his friend has made the right choice and killed what he thought was the last infected person, protecting everyone from becoming infected. However, she failed and now his fear is reality, it’s too late and now more and more are becoming infected. The virus is spreading like fire and now help must be called in to try stop this deadly disease from spreading beyond the town and stop a pandemic from happening.

Review:
Nick is a very down to earth writer that produces fun and thrilling reads and I’m thankful to be on his review team as now I am a part of the apocalypse. His reads are often quick and fun so they are perfect for people who struggle to read large novels.

Day 1 and 2 both kickstarted with a bang and this was the same for day 3, hooking you in from the first chapter. The little cliff hangers that are cleverly placed at the end of chapters also keep you gripped because they don’t always mean what you think.
I really hoped that day 3 would come together in the same way day 2 did and I was not disappointed. The old and new characters begin to meet and this is when shit really does hit the fan and as the spread of the disease begins to spread like wildfire, the story is kicked off at rapid speed which resulted in the speed I read increasing.

I found at times I found myself getting frustrated with the characters and their decisions, especially the ones that took risks that endangered others. I often found I disagreed with some of their decisions, but there again these characters are in a zombie apocalypse and that is bound to mess and scramble your thoughts. I did find myself questioning however, if the younger generation would be wiser in this situation than the older like Nick addressed in this read, as the younger generation have grown up with the tales of zombies.

I found Day 3 to be a little gorier than the other two, Nick doesn’t hold back when being descriptive about the zombies. His laidback tone makes this a read that all can enjoy but be prepared to be left wanting more at the end because once again we are hit with a clever cliff hanger. I was shocked that I had read this book as quick as I had and was disappointed when I got to the end and was hit with suspense. I had questions I wanted answering so I was grateful that I had access to Day 4 ready and waiting. Nick is a very smart author who hooks you in, even when you don’t expect to be. Roll on day 4!

4.5/5

This series just keeps getting better and better!

To date, this series has been about a range of characters trying to prevent a zombie apocalypse after a resurrection ritual goes horribly wrong. After reading the last book, my hopes for this series was that it would pick up on a larger scale. You know, riots in the streets, chaos unchained, all that great stuff a morbid zombie lover could want.

And that's exactly what I got from this book.

Yet again we are thrust into the chaotic lives of a number of characters. Personally, I liked William and Dan the best. They're clearly different in terms of personality with William being more of the alpha male role, but I liked the subtle tension between the two when they disagreed on certain things. But mainly I just liked how they reacted quickly to the events happening around them. They aren't necessarily the brightest bunch, but they know when they are royally screwed if they don't move.

Mille was interesting, though I didn't get a full sense of who she was from this book. I hope to see further development going forward.

The only character I didn't care for (and the reason behind my half-star reduction) was Finn. I didn't think his mentality or actions made enough sense, much how I felt about Janjak in book one. He's a bit too sensitive and a quitter for my taste, and his actions later on in the book had me saying to myself "Oh, just die already!"

This book was full of nonstop action. I could see each vivid, gory scene in my mind as I read along, and I loved how the chaos ramped up with each chapter.

If you're looking for chills and thrills and aren't squeamish, this is the zombie book to read! Can't wait to read more.

During Day 3, things are getting serious, the virus is spreading faster than people can keep track. Our cast of characters has grown, but with the level of seriousness, they are coming together to try and survive the zombie apocalypse. With the multiple characters and multiple settings, things are growing intense. Our main characters, William, Dan, and Millie must figure out a way to survive this, even if their loved ones have not.

The only thing that I didn't understand, was that William's uncle had said he didn't realize use his safe-house, yet he was out picking vegetables when the crew showed up. A small inconsistency that is easily fixed. Aside from that, I enjoyed this one the most out of the series so far. There was a ton of action going on and it had a fast-paced, "must find out what happened" vibe. I really like Dan and William and I'm curious to see how they are going to handle the impending doom.

Clause keeps his readers on their toes with Day 4. Every time I think I know where the story is heading, Clausen throws in a twist that keeps me on my toes. This story had me ACTUALLY CLUTCHING MY IMAGINARY PEARLS. I love that Clausen takes his readers on a terrifying journey while still being able to convey each characters POV. The Dead Meat series starts with a refreshing take on the zombie apocalypse and has continued to serve interesting tales of gore. If you're a die hard zombie fan, like I am, you've probably looked for new captivating stories to read but you've come up empty-handed. There are tons of stories out there that are just plain cheesy, there's no suspense and you're wondering when am I going to find what I'm looking for? LOOK NO FARTHER! This is the story that you've been searching for, come take a bite

I never thought I would like to read about zombies and I have to say that I am so wrong. I love reading this series by NICK CLAUSEN. This series has a way to suck you in and feel like you are in the thick of it all. I love the characters and how everyone is someone tied to the other. For example in this book we meet William and Mille. They unknowingly know someone in the heart of the story. Don't forget Dan, he finally figures out what he was overlooking. Now everything is just crazy? I wonder how this will all play out? I love how Nick Clausen just weaves the story and leaves room for more to happen and brings it all back together. It is an amazing series and if you have not started this, then you are missing out.

This is the next book in the Dead Meat series from Danish author Nick Clausen. It is a gritty, hyper-realistic story that gives a day-by-day account of the zombie apocalypse.

This volume sees the expansion of the zombie outbreak within the small town in Denmark near the origination of the outbreak. The contagion is spreading rapidly, but at the end of the book it’s still contained geographically to the area around the town.

I gave Dead Meat – Day 3 five stars on Goodreads. I’ve been very impressed so far with the author’s ability to come up with new and interesting situations to insert characters into to drive the plot forward. I’m enjoying the entire series so far despite the somewhat depressing subject matter.

This is fantastic addition to the series. The virus is spreading fast and we have more characters. It's even more intense than the first two as we follow multiple people in different places. I love that Ozzy the dog was brought into the story, though I worry for him.

My issue/question with zombie stories is usually 'how did it get to this point?' so I love that Nick Clausen shows just how it spreads and gets out of control. This might be my favourite of the series so far. I found myself yelling at people and nervous for their fates.

This series has me completely hooked. I'm honestly enjoying it and I'm also in need of the next book. Almost everyone is dead now and becoming zombies. Only a few survive but for how long? Nick Clausen has done it again. In this book we pretty much fallow Dan, Millie and William around while they try to survive this crazy world as well as keeping them self out of harms way. I NEED MORE DAY MEAT BOOKS!
