Very useful book that starts by describing all the terminology and describing the various types of alcohol; then provides recipes for some of the tastiest drinks I have ever had.

some of the book has a feel like it was made in the very late 1970s
but it could be the publisher that had all the old photo rights

for a pedestrian book it's pretty okay
it's enjoyable reading for beginners and experts

it's interesting enough that it got my attention, but I like seeing old photos of liqueur bottles older than the the cocktail text!

This guide is very attractive, durable, and printed on quality stock. While short on recipes it provides a great deal of background information and detail on spirit, liqueurs, and cordials from around the world and I primarily use it as a reference tool.

I discovered both Chartreuse and Slivovitz through this book which justifies its purchase in and of itself. Also, you can get it for something like $2.50 through Amazon.com.
