Hi there! I'm an author of mostly sci-fi/fantasy YA novels, like Legend, Warcross, The Young Elites, Skyhunter, and Stars & Smoke. My adult fantasy debut, Red City, releases this October 14, 2025.
I graduated from the University of Southern California and currently live in LA with my family. Before becoming a full-time writer, I was an Art Director at a video game company. Now I spend most of my time writing, trying to keep my plants alive, and getting stuck in traffic. I feel very honored that I get to tell you stories, and my deepest wish is always that my books can offer you some joy, solace, entertainment, and/or escape. With all my heart, thank you for reading.
A cute little short story of Day and June. It's been so long that i don't really remember how they got to this point, but I'm glad they did. Will be moving on to read Rebel soon, hopefully the storyline will all come back and I won't be too lost!
“Your past is forever part of you, just as it is a part of me. And I loved that person, just as I love you.”
Nooooo, This can't just be 5 pages... Whyyy? I want more. No, I NEED more! Even though this was an extra short novella is was still amazingly sweet and wonderful. But really that's what you expect from a Marie Lu book no matter the pages! I am so happy I read this!! Day and June are everything and this was the closure I so desperately needed after Champion and Life After Legend. Recommended for all LOVERS of the Legend series!
I can't freakin wait to read Rebel (book #4) that comes out October 1st of this year. Which just so happens to be my 4-year anniversary that I quit smoking... What better way to celebrate than to read a much-awaited book in this beloved series? Ahhh, I'm just sooo excited. I MUST do a reread and soon... Very very soon!!
It is only five pages. But we all know what Ms. Lu is capable of doing with just five pages. This is a beautiful reminder of the series we all know and love, and hopefully, a testament of what is to come in the following sequels.
That’s it? Not nearly enough! God, I love them both so much! Though I would love to get more, I hope that more detail doesn’t ruin the story for me. I don’t want it to be pointless. Thanks to Giska :)
lol, so off topic (kinda) I've read Legend, Prodigy, Champion, Life after Legend and Life after Legend 2 II all in one week. This series + the novellas are just that good.
Anyways, I thought this was a super cute little taste of how June and Day are getting on together. I was surprised to see how Day remembered everything so fast once meeting June, but I cant complain, because, after all, this is what I hoped would happen.
I feel like I'm so happy with how this leaves off and now I'm not so sure if Rebel is necessary. I know that Rebel will be Eden's story, which is cool, but I just hope nothing happens to my loves.
