I was blessed to get an advanced copy of Don't Sleep On It. In just a couple of days, I was able to read it cover to cover. If only I'd read this book months, if not years, ago.
Kavit Haria addresses all your marketing questions and illustrates implementing his simple, yet brilliant, techniques. At the same time, he weaves in his insights as to what challenges many entrepreneurs, their mindset.
"...many people continue to undervalue their expertise because their knowledge is so natural to them... they overlook the years of effort and energy invested in learning and practicing, and forget that other people don't know what they know." And, that's true! Who hasn't discounted or dismissed their knowledge because of the thoughts, "Everybody knows that"? It's a simple thought that railroads many into giving up their dreams before they even start.
And that leads us to another barrier in the would-be-entrepreneurial mindset.
"...you need to think differently about what you think your time is worth. If you don't break free from the money-for-time mindset, you'll never feel comfortable earning considerably more money..." No matter who we are or what we've done, we all punch a time clock in our own way. It doesn't matter if we're parttime or full time, hourly or salary. Sometimes you can have a conversation with someone and realise how much they know, that one conversation can give you some insight, tools and emotional response to make a change. Yet, the person having that conversation may not even realise the power they have.
Human Beings have a tendency to do this. We all have some kind of expertise and experience which can help people. We don't realise, however, that we can actually be an expert and help others in something.

The internet is littered with all kinds of books, in varying qualities, boasting about the ability for you to find & monetise your passion in life. Beyond the common rhetoric however, very few deliver practical steps for you to follow. Kavit Haria's Don't Sleep On It, is a power packed guide on how to actually do just that.
Full disclosure - I hired Automated Business System (Kavit's company) a few months ago to help me build my online business. So I write with this perspective too. I was at a point where things needed to grow, and move away from being dependent on me as a business owner. I had tried, and gotten mediocre results with the DIY path. Building funnels & launches myself, hustling away.
How do you take it to the next level though? Is it GENUINELY possible to build a six, seven figure business that is automated, and something you care about? And if so, how do you do it? Without breaking the bank? Or even an idea?
What I love about this book is a few really great things, including:
1. It's fucking simple & straight to the point
2. It starts with principles, and then shares tactics - going more detailed the further you burrow into the book
3. The underpinning of spirituality & service throughout - that you are to give, to create, to serve. Not get rich quick & build more material wealth for yourself alone
I think this book would be perfect for someone who is at the beginning stages of building an online business around an expertise they may/may not have. And would go really well with 'Entrepreneur Revolution' & 'Built to Sell'.
As I read this at a later stage, (and the ABS team are working with me on lots of these concepts) it was more of a refresher than enlightenment.
That said, here's my key takeaways:
* Let go of the mindset of time put in, to money you earn. I read this book in one day cover to cover, and this idea really hit me. The more you are passionate about your business, beyond the concepts/expertise itself, you can become addicted to the long hours. And it can easily become (especially in a 40-50hour week culture) an emblem of your dedication & efforts. However, holding onto this way of thinking becomes a block in itself, and the moment you earn something too easily, where you work less hours & make more, you will begin to sabotage yourself. Early on, Kavit recommends letting go of this mindset & focusing on value instead.
* The customer avatar. I spent about 2 weeks creating mine and it has really helped ever since for me to constantly think back to "Sarah" the avatar I had built of WHO I am serving & why. I have been adding/changing/developing it more & more so my content, my activities, everything I do is geared towards serving that person's needs as powerfully as possible.
* Funnels/promotion strategy. I think what normally is missing from this type of (dare I say) literature is actual strategies & things you can implement. Most authors stick behind the safety of vague information that sounds great but is hard to action. Kavit actually shares quite openly what ABS does, and how you can use proven funnels, tactics, ad campaigns etc to take you from ideation to launch quite quickly.

These days writers really don't know what it was like to be in the life of a character —no matter how much research they do—so the success of the book depends largely on beautifully putting together self-faced problem while mentoring those challenges. Many people think that they know how to run an online business but only few actually do. Kavit Haria is the one who knows. And he is also a great teacher, who can explain how everything works without false promises that everything will be easy. That's what I like the most about this book: you can see that you can make it but you know that this book alone won't make you a millionaire, you have to work, and a lot.
Many quotes inspire and "to do lists" help to start it all, in short, the best book for everyone who already works or would like to work online.

The book presents step by step strategies, activities, visualization on HOW to achieve that online business one has been dreaming of.
When we know WHAT of the online business (what kind of business we want to initiate) but at times struggle with HOW and WHY, the process of it, this book is the answer that we need.

If this book came with a solid Gold diamond embellished hardback cover -It would not compare to the value of the nuggets contained within.

This is a book I will find myself re-reading from time to time going forward. This book is a must have online marketing companion. This book is easy to read and follow. I loved the layout and workable achievable 'action steps' at the end of each chapter.

So lucky to have read this book : a pure treasure to learn how to share my (your) expertise by creating online courses ! You will learn to rethink your value, understand your client, leverage your expertise by creating an online product (course). You will learn also how to prince your product, sell and market it...

I absolutely loved this book. Kavit has taken a complex subject around customer acquisition, journey and retention and given the reader a simple structured system, with easy to implement exercises. Packed full of content after content and generous free bonuses. Whether you are contemplating working for yourself or a seasoned entrepreneur Don't Sleep on it will help you get your business to the next level. Very highly recommended.

I’m not a “big” reader, however, I was given the privilege of previewing this before it’s release, and I couldn’t get enough of it! Will definately use, and re-read this several times. Kavit Haria has created a concise and informative resource to help anyone on the fence, practically get an idea off the ground. I wish I had come across something like this much earlier, was blessing to be able to read it early.

Extremely comprehensive book that walks you through all the steps to take your entrepreneurial ideas and create content for real clients. I really liked the section on defining your customer avatar. I have read probably a dozen explanations of this process, but Kavit's template was much more detailed than any of the others, and is the first one that really made sense to me. The sections on sales and marketing were also much more in depth than most others I have seen, with lots of examples and step-by-step instructions. I know I will be returning to these sections many times as I build my online business.
