The Ketogenic diet is, without doubt, a must follow diet if you want to lose weight, keep it off and obtain various other benefits such as making your skin healthy, fighting cancer, restoring insulin sensitivity and much, much more. Whether you’ve just started following the diet or have already been following the diet with impressive results, you must perhaps have noticed that one of the challenging parts about following the diet is preparing delicious meals especially when you have a busy schedule. There is no better way to achieve that than use a pressure cooker and in particular, the modern, technologically advanced pressure cooker, known as instant pot. This book has 100+ delicious instant pot recipes that you can prepare while on the Ketogenic diet.
I think this would be a good start for beginners, it has excellent details of the dos and donts, why and why not etc.. Not all of the recipes are budget friendly but I really liked the crock pot section. I'll definitely trying out some of these recipes and tips.
This book—or I guess I should say these books—were a helpful quick overview of the ketogenic diet. They didn’t delve in super deep, but gave you some of the general principles of the diet to get started. It was an easy, quick read, and though I haven’t used any of the recipes—literally just finished the book in one sitting—most of them looked pretty easy to follow and not too complicated. I did have just a couple of complaints. First of all, the book was very poorly edited, and there were numerous mistakes in it. If it was a much longer book, it would have been too distracting too finish. However, for what this book’s purpose was, I was able to overlook it and move on. Secondly, I did feel like the information between the three books wasn’t always consistent. For example, in one of them she stated that you should avoid pumpkin, but there were numerous pumpkin recipes within the books. I personally am a pumpkin lover, so I’m all for incorporating it into a diet, but it wasn’t clear to me if it was okay to have or no. Also, I felt the oils that were mentioned as acceptable changed from one book to the next. If this is due to the author gaining further knowledge when writing the second or third book, I completely understand and get it. However, if that’s the case, I don’t feel that the books should be placed together collectively, or that a disclaimer is added about updated content due to more recent research to the most up to date and correct book. Other than that, worth the time to read. I was able to get these books for free, so for the short amount of time that I put into the books, for me it was worth it and helpful.
Not much info on the Keto Diet itself but there are many recipes included for both crock pot and instant pot (pressure cooker). I have both types of pots so was happy to see those recipes. I downloaded this book free from Amazon. Note: there are many typos but reading the book is still worth it.
Some really silly advice such as avoid sugar because of the dextrose it contains, whilst recommending two pieces of sugary fruit such as pineapple or the empty calories of an orange. There is a significant lack of joined up thinking. Hi Lego and BUY a decent book.
