Gordo's always been there for Lizzie-a true best friend. But when he starts secretly dating pretty Brooke Baker, everything changes. Now Gordo's making up stupid excuses to ditch Lizzie. Gordo's certainly not boyfriend material, so Brooke must be two-timing him. Lizzie advises Gordo to dump Brooke before he gets hurt. Plus, a cute neighborhood paperboy gives Lizzie her first kiss-and her first broken heart.
This is how a Disney Channel novelization should be done. Two episodes in one book, and all the fun of the original show with some additional narration.
In the first story, Gordo has a girlfriend and keeps it secret from Miranda and Lizzie. Quickly the girlfriend takes over Gordo’s life in the second part Lizzie falls in love with her paper, boy and quickly he takes over her life.
a five star???? this one is just so good, ya know? gordo gets a girlfriend and lizzie is jealous, then lizzie gets a boyfriend and gordo is jealous, and it’s just so wholesome. and of course, there’s the iconic “no one is prettier than you, or more fun to be with” line that made children everywhere swoon. did i mention gordo is a gem? this one is just very sweet and reminds me of the days when young me shipped lizzie and gordo.
(novelizations of 1x19 “gordo and the girl” and 2x01 “first kiss”)
Interesting book about young teenage love. Friendship combines in this teen love situation. This book is all about finding who you can trust and who are really your friends. But love is in the air for Lizzie's best friend Gordo and Lizzie doesn't seem to be happy with it. Friendship collides with a love triangle this. Who's that third person you're thinking. Do you think that Lizzie has secret feelings for Gordo? Keep reading Lizzie McGuire books to find out more.
Yeah I read Lizzie McGuire, and I liked it. It's a short, easy to read, book version of the episodes. Probably a good way to get children to read. The racial slurs seem out of place though. Also - poor Gordo.
The first story revolves around Gordo finding a girlfriend and the extremely negative way that Lizzie reacts. It doesn't show her in a very flattering light as her jealousy causes her to do to some fairly extreme lengths to find out what is going on between Gordo and his girlfriend, Lizzie doing this even though she and Gordo have never dated and show no signs of dating.
As such it's not a very positive story. It shows just how untrusting and possessive someone can be of someone else when they really should be happy for the other person. An interesting but not very nice story.
This part is based on the episode "Gordo and the Girl."
This story has two plotlines going. In one, Matt wants a particular baseball card to finish his collection. A girl has it and he will do anything to get it from her including fulfilling a long list of demands that she has such as baking her brownies.
The second plotline is basically the reverse of the first story. In this case Lizzie gets a boyfriend and it's up to Gordo to figure out what his feelings are about that.
The relationship between Ronny and Lizzie heats up and they end up kissing. Gordo sees that happen and realizes he is actually jealous. Lizzie's father finds out Matt had given away his baseball collection so he takes the card Matt got and Matt's collection.
Then the words "we need to talk" arise and Ronny and Lizzie break up. Gordo and Lizzie and Miranda all make up and become fast friends again.
I thought this book was interesting and gave it a low 5 because Gordo, Lizzies best friend gets his heart broken because Lizzie and Miranda are spying on him and think his getting played but in the middle of nowhere he breaks up with her and feels bad.At the end of the story Lizzie dates her paperboy, Ronny Jacobs who delivers her paper and one day they had an arguement and they both found outy they were falling in love for each other until Ronny had a girl at his school who liked him and he liked her and they went to the same school so why not he thought. But when he told Lizzie about it she was totally heart broken and bursted out with tears and threw his ring that he gave her at his hand and ran off.I trully think that the title of this book really describes this book and thats why I thought it was interesting.
I didn't like this book very much because it was to boring and not my favorite kind of book. The characters are nice though and it is about friendship. But I didn't think it was very entertaining at all.
This book has 2 stories in it and the stories are just like the TV show but are still fun to read. I got a box set of 7 books, I think it was back in 2003 but didn't get around to reading them till now.
I wouldn't recommend this to younger than 8th grade even though anyone reading at a 2nd grade level and up can grasp it. It is so completely about dating and boys that it's just inappropriate subject matter for children not at an age to date. The cartoons are so cute.
I actually think that both Gordo and Lizzie like each other because they both feel sad when they find out that the other person is dating someone else.
